Pray 2020

Below are daily prayer prompts for Monday October 19th to Sunday October 25th. Thank you for praying with us, KLTT and Crawford Broadcasting Company!

Monday October 19, 2020 |  Goodness

There are so many good things to be thankful for in the world that God created. Love, laughter, children, family, friends, children, colorful leaves and, of course, puppies! However, in the garden, sin opened the door to the reality of pain, suffering, bitterness and death. Crime, hostility, war, hatred and division are tangible results of the fall. How wonderful it is to know then that you, our Heavenly Father, sent your only Son to redeem us! Thank you, God, for the unconditional love, grace and mercy you lavished upon us by sending Jesus to redeem us. During this election season, allow each of us to see beyond brokenness and pain and help us to fully embrace your goodness.

Psalm 145:9 “The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.”

Tuesday October 20, 2020 | Resolve

It can be easy to confuse love with weakness. When we think of love, we sometimes think of a bride and groom embracing at the altar, a mother tenderly kissing her baby, or an aging great-grandparent adoring their first great-grandchild. Images like that do not at first appear to exude strength. But Lord, we know it was love that compelled you to Calvary. It was your love that caused you to battle on our behalf to utterly destroy the power of sin, death, hell and the grave. Lord Jesus, we are your representatives on planet earth. We are your ambassadors, and we are here to represent you and to proclaim the good news that love has won! That forgiveness, healing, hope and victory are real because of you! We ask today, just 14 days before the election, that by the Holy Spirit and the Truth of your Word, you would fill us and empower us with unconditional love, kindness, conviction and courage. As warriors in your kingdom, may we choose what is loving and what is right regardless of the outcome, knowing that our future rests securely in you, our victorious, risen Lord.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong. Everything you` do should be done lovingly.”

Wednesday October 21, 2020 | Involvement

If you played any amount of sports as a child, it is likely that at some point, you were in the unenviable position of sitting on the bench watching others play the game. Depending on your aspirations, ability or acumen, it’s possible you were hoping to get on the field, or praying your number wasn’t called by your coach to “get in the game.” As believers, we have been called to participate fully in the work and building of God’s Kingdom. There is no bench and there are no bench warmers in the family of God. Jesus said you are “the Salt of the earth” and “the Light of the world” (Matthew 5:14-16). In short, we are here to make a difference for Him. The good news is, He has promised to work through us to accomplish His plan and purpose. That means we are not alone in the fight. Lord, open my eyes to see and ears to hear so I might fully know what it is you desire to do through me today. Thank you for calling me into service in your kingdom. I am here, and I am willing. Show me what it is you desire for me to do as you work through me to accomplish your plan and purpose.

Hebrews 13:16 “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Thursday October 22, 2020 |  Legacy

In the late 1980’s Christian artist/song-writer Steve Green, introduced a powerful song about legacy he called “Find Us Faithful.” Over the years. Green won multiple awards for his music (including induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame), and He used this song to remind listeners that decisions we make today, will affect our children and families for years (or generations) to come. With important federal, state and local elections less than two weeks away, may the words of this song inspire us to remember that the welfare of our children, family, community and nation will be impacted by what we do (or do not do), today.

‘Find Us Faithful’ Lyrics: We’re pilgrims on the journey | Of the narrow road And those who’ve gone before us line the way | Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary | Their lives a stirring testament to God’s sustaining grace | Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses | Let us run the race not only for the prize | But as those who’ve gone before us | Let us leave to those behind us | The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives | CHORUS: Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful | May the fire of our devotion light their way | May the footprints that we leave | Lead them to believe | And the lives we live inspire them to obey | Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful | After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone | And our children sift through all we’ve left behind | May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover | Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find

Psalm 145:4 “One generation will acclaim your works to another and will describe your mighty actions.”

Friday October 23, 2020 |  Government

As individual human beings, the idea of resisting evil can be overwhelming, particularly when it deals with organizations and governments. One image forever seared in the minds of those who saw it is a photograph of a single man courageously standing in front of a line of Communist Chinese military tanks in Tiananmen Square on June 5, 1989 to protest the advancement of that evil regime. God’s Word tells us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against “principalities, against powers, against the world’s rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph. 6:12) Yes, our adversary is formidable, but our God is far greater. No government or leader ultimately acts outside of God’s authority. It can appear that way at times, but the victorious final chapter of our life on planet earth has not yet come to pass (see Revelation 22). Lord, give us the confident assurance that no matter how things look in the world today, you are in control. Give us the courage to obey you, at any cost, knowing our hope rests solely and securely in you.

Lamentations 3:37 “Who is there who speaks, and it comes to pass, unless the Lord commands it?”

Saturday October 24, 2020 |  Perseverance

Very few people truly relish pain or the perseverance it takes to endure it. We go to the gym, and we enjoy the results of a good workout, but the reason we don’t hold a painful stretch forever is because it hurts! But there is value in that pain! By pressing through it -even for a few minutes or seconds- we grow stronger and healthier! The same is true with the struggles we encounter and endure as believers. Lord, from Coronavirus to political division and cultural conflict, this season in our lives seems -for many reasons- to be less than enjoyable. Yet, we know you are working for our good (Rom. 8:28). Give us perseverance in the midst of tribulation and develop in us proven character and hope.

Romans 5:3-4 “And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope…”

Sunday October 25, 2020  | Trust

I would venture a guess that “the boogeyman” is a well-known figure among children of every culture. There is just something about darkness and shadows that causes thoughts and fear to run wild and compels many children to ask mom or dads or an older sibling to look under the bed or in a closet before they sleep. For almost all, fear of “the boogeyman” fades once we grow to realize that in most cases, such fear is unfounded and irrational. While the vast majority of us never think about our imaginary childhood adversary anymore, there are many other things that can cause our minds and hearts to fear. Family issues, finances, cultural change, religious persecution, medical concerns, etc. Father God, we come to you less than 9 days before the election and acknowledge that fear is rooted in our inability or unwillingness to trust you. By the power of the Holy Spirit, infuse us with the perfect peace that can only be found in your presence.

Isaiah 26:3-4 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”

Below are daily prayer prompts for Monday October 12th to Sunday October 18th. Thank you for praying with us, KLTT and Crawford Broadcasting!
Monday October 12, 2020  | Elder Care
To be truly pro-life means to love all human life, from the moment of conception to the point of natural death. “Pro-life” conversation often revolves around the unborn, however, and when it does, we often overlook the needs of the elderly. Babies are 100% dependent upon their moms and dads for literally everything: food, shelter, care, nurture, protection, etc. As they grow, they naturally become less and less dependent on their parents. Isn’t it amazing that -unless an accident or some unforeseen circumstance occurs- just the opposite is true with aging parents? Eventually, moms and dads become more and more dependent upon their children! It’s impossible to know why God designed it that way but He did and it’s important that we not overlook the needs (and potential contribution) of the elderly during an election. Can you offer your parents or elderly neighbors a ride to the polling place? Do they have specific concerns about healthcare, or the future of our nation that we need to be thinking and praying about? Over the years, ask them what has God taught them about dealing with division and discord. Lord God, give us grateful hearts for all of the love and care our parents offered to us. Help us to listen carefully to and act upon the wisdom share with us. Make us ever more cognizant of their needs. And as we go to the polls in less than a month, help us to choose those who will love and support all human life, including those we used to depend upon for our own lives!
Verse: Proverbs 23:22 “Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.”
Tuesday October 13, 2020 | Every Child
In keeping with yesterday’s theme, we know that all human life is precious and sacred. Young, old, rich, poor, black, white, biological, adopted, foster, typical or special needs…God unconditionally loves the beautiful lives He created. That includes you and me! Our inherent value as human beings comes from our loving Creator, God the Father and Jesus Christ, His Son. As we prepare to vote on November 3rd, Lord we pray that you would open our eyes and hearts to help us act upon and demonstrate the same kind of unconditional love for others that you freely offered to us. Help us to act wisely and boldly in protecting their best interests on election day and not just our own. Thank you for the relationship that we have with you. As we prepare to vote, help us listen for your still, small voice. Show us how we can care for the needs of all people, whether they look like us or not.
Verse: Psalm 139:14-15 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.”
Wednesday October 14, 2020  | COVID

Is anyone old enough to remember the classic 1957 black and white film “The Deadly Mantis?” It was a fictional story about a freakish 200-foot long Praying Mantis that had been flash frozen in the Polar Ice Cap. Somehow the deadly mantis came back to life, got loose and began to destroy everything and everyone in its’ path. I remember watching it on late night television while sleeping at a friend’s house, and how terrified I was at the prospect of such a thing! What made it even scarier was when the southbound mantis landed on the Empire State Building and later the Washington Monument! The sight of that horrific creature on recognizable buildings brought the concept a little too close to home! I saw a similar reaction recently when a neighbor suddenly discovered that the President and First Lady had COVID 19! I mean, if it could happen to our President…it could happen to me, right? Something like that may have happened to you the first time you heard that your favorite preacher, actor, athlete or rock star had come down with Coronavirus, or maybe even died from the disease. There’s a lot we still don’t know about the exact origin of the virus, and we surely don’t know what next year -or even the rest of our lives- will look like if we continue to live in a perpetual state of lockdown, social distancing and quarantine. But this is what we do know: God is way bigger than COVID-19! Lord, give us wisdom in dealing with the disease and all of the uncomfortable and inconvenient ways it has affected our lives. As our leaders play tug-of-war with thoughts about how to respond, may we press into You for insight, wisdom, courage, strength, conviction, patience and healing. May our President and First Lady recover fully along with other government leaders, politicians, law officers, first responders, teachers, doctors and health care workers, our family members, spouses and maybe even our children. We may see in a glass dimly right now, but this Biblical truth is crystal clear: You are Lord and Master of everything! Therefore, we place our hope and trust in you.
Verse: Matthew 9:35 “Then Jesus began traveling throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness.”
Thursday October 15, 2020 | Issues/Discernment
News flash: Not everything we see on the internet is true. I hope that’s not the first time you ever heard that, or the first time you thought about the possibility of “news” being false. And not just on TV. How is it that “telemarketers” can convince our aging parents to hand over their social security numbers? Simple deception! Biased news reports, “opinion” disguised as “fact,” and liberal or conservative “spin” all have an impact on what we think about the world or what we truly know about the state of affairs in our nation. God, there are very important federal, state and local elections coming up in less than 3 weeks. We ask you to bless us with laser-like discernment. Help us to see through the haze and to accurately pinpoint the truth you want us to see. May we resist the temptation to simply jump to erroneous conclusions or believe information simply because our best friend or neighbor claims it came from a ‘reliable source’ on the internet. We recognize that all of us have the capacity to be deceived. And what’s more, we have an enemy (“The father of lies”) who embodies deception. Lord Jesus, you said: “You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).” We need you more than ever and thank you that you are not only the way, but you are the truth and the life we are searching for! (John 14:6)
Verse: 1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”
Friday October 16, 2020 |  PTSD
Thousands of US military personnel since the Vietnam War have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD -as it’s come to be known- was officially “discovered” in 1980, though it’s true effect may date back to war and other human calamities that happened over the centuries. Experts say that all kinds of trauma can lead to this heightened state of vigilance, anxiety and despair: Persecution, pandemics, ISIS beheadings, mass shootings, terror attacks, sexual assault, human trafficking, domestic violence, rioting in our streets, etc. Lord Jesus, we pray for healing and deliverance for all who experience PTSD -in any form- and especially those who have faithfully served our nation and who preserved for us not only our freedom, but a true sense of peace that they, themselves, can no longer enjoy. Bring your peace to our lives, our homes, our communities, our nation and the world. You are the Prince of Peace. Our hope is in you!
Verse: Psalm 4:8 “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, LORD, enable me to live securely.”
Saturday October 17, 2020 |  Refugees
One of the hotly contested issues prior to, and immediately following, the last Presidential election had to do with US border security and illegal immigration. This unresolved issue remains a source of animosity and division for people on both sides of the debate. When we vote on November 3rd we pray for supernatural wisdom. Show us what you would have us do to honor you and obey your Word. This is not merely a political issue. It’s an issue that you care deeply about, Heavenly Father, because it involves protecting human beings created in your image. Lord Jesus, when you went to the cross it was for each and every one of us. Thank you for the safety and protection you have given to those of us who are blessed to live in America; and thank you for the safety and protection you desire for those who hope to live here one day as well. We have enemies who seek to destroy us, and at the same time, families, and children who are seeking refuge inside our borders. You are the God of the impossible. Help us to elect leaders who will truly seek your face on difficult and heart-wrenching issues like this and help us to navigate these troubled waters with boldness and confidence in a way that will bring you glory.
Verse: Zechariah 7:9-10 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”
Sunday October 18, 2020 | Growth
When I was young, I remember my older brother saying: “Stop the world, I want to get off!” He was joking, of course, but I think he was trying to express what we all may feel from time to time: a sense of unbearable discomfort and despair. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been on a nauseating amusement park ride you wish you hadn’t gotten on, but I have. I couldn’t wait for it to be over! Even then, it took a several hours to get the full effect of the terror and trauma fully out of my system. Life is a wonderful thing, but at times it sure isn’t easy! Losing a parent, a sibling, a spouse, a child -or even a beloved pet- can lead to many months or years of suffering. Sickness, unemployment, abuse, financial strain, bullying, loneliness and isolation may also be sources of grief, pain and struggle. Lord, in the midst of any kind of suffering, we have come to see that you are working in the midst of our struggles to refine us. One day these trials will be over and, on that very day, we will finally look like you! At times, Father God, this “ride” called life may not seem pleasant, but we ask for you to give us the grace we need to endure. And no matter what new difficulties may follow this upcoming election we know you are working for our good! And not just for now, but for all of eternity!
Verse: James 1:2-4 “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Below are daily prayer prompts for Monday October 5th to Sunday October 11th. Thank you for praying with KLTT and Crawford Broadcasting!

Monday October 5, 2020 | Creator

Nowadays it seems there are special days designated to celebrate just about everything! National Pizza Day, Ice Cream Day, Bosses Day, Siblings Day and even Goldfish Day…really?? We are now officially 29 Days away from the election, and -believe it or not- today just happens to be “National Homemade Cookies Day!” It’s also National “Name Your Car Day”, National “Cinnamon Bun Day” National “Taco Day” and National “Golf Lover’s Day.” In a broken and chaotic world isn’t it good to know that every single day is a day that God has made? He made it! It was His idea! Lord, Cinnamon Buns and Cookies are wonderful, and we thank you for the joy they bring to so many, but more importantly we thank you for the peace we feel in being able to say that -no matter what is going in our lives or in the world- that every day is a day that you have made! We love you, and thank you for what you are doing to demonstrate your love, grace, mercy and power on this special day. We find joy in knowing that you are in charge and that you are our God!

Verse: Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Tuesday October 6, 2020 |  Oppression

In reality, there are probably as many forms of oppression as there are people on the world! We hear about physical oppression (human trafficking, sexual slavery, prostitution, etc.), mental oppression (anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts), emotional oppression (psychological, verbal or emotional abuse and neglect), occupational and financial oppression (slavery and slave labor), spiritual oppression, prejudice, racism, bigotry, etc. It is impossible to know exactly just how much oppression is occurring right this very minute in the world, but YOU know. We ask you, in Jesus’ name, to bring and end to human oppression and to rain righteousness and justice on all who are experiencing it today.

Verse: Psalm 103:6 “The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.”

Wednesday October 7, 2020 |  Service

It would be impossible to say exactly when I first heard the phrase “others first,” but I have heard it many times. Putting others first is what Jesus did when He went to the cross and sacrificed Himself on our behalf. Most Christians would agree that putting others first is a godly thing to do, but actually doing it is the hard part! Whether in business, or in our marriages or in our homes or in our communities, Lord, give us the mind of Christ on this issue and help us to be willing to love and serve others the way that Jesus did! Help us to lovingly and willingly put the needs of others first in every situation!

Verse: Philippians 2:1-5 “If there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus…”

Thursday October 8, 2020 | Confidence

A simple daily prayer calendar like this is probably not the place to delve into the theological depths of the sovereignty of God, but suffice it to say that God is all-powerful and all-knowing and in charge of all things at all times. He knows how to take impossible and difficult and unforeseen (to us) circumstances and use them to carry out His eternal plan and purpose. (Romans 8:28) You may be troubled or disturbed by the developments we see in the news each day, by they are no surprise to God. Thank you, Heavenly Father, that your plan and purpose is being fulfilled right here and right now. Help us to trust you and to be effective in the process of building your kingdom. Allow us to be undeterred in our obedience to you knowing you are in control of all things at all times.

Verse: Isaiah 14:27 “For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”

Friday October 9, 2020 |  Endurance

Lord, help us not to lose sight of the fact that we have an enemy who wants to dissuade and discourage us from following after you. As we look at the candidates running for office in our local communities, in our state and in our nation, may we never give up on the idea of putting you first in everything. Including how we vote on November 3rd. There are many things in this world that can draw our attention away from you, but we choose to remain faithful to your call on each of our lives. Teach us to avoid distraction and tune into your voice amidst the noise we hear in our culture. Give us strength so we will not become weary in proclaiming the truth of your word to a world in desperate need of you!

Verse: Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, having so vast a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, and throwing off everything that hinders us and especially the sin that so easily entangles us, let us keep running with endurance the race set before us, fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, in view of the joy set before him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Saturday October 10, 2020 |  Rapid Response (Eight Days of Hope)

For several weeks now, Eight Days of Hope (a Christian Relief and Rebuilding Agency that responds to natural disasters in the US) has been active in providing assistance to families affected by Hurricane Laura in Lake Charles, LA and to the victims of flooding in Cedar Rapids, IA. In fact, since Hurricane Katrina more than a decade ago, thousands of EDOH volunteers have demonstrated their love for Jesus by assisting families and communities utterly devastated and destroyed by hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding in the US. Ty Pennington’s fans used to think it was a big deal when neighbors shouted “Move that Bus!” after a single home was renovated on ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover show! What can you possibly say about the hundreds of homes that were rebuilt in just 8 weeks after Hurricane Harvey in Houston? Lord, we need to be reminded from time to time that you are a God who is not only able, but who sees, who cares and who knows everything! When our problems seem big, but you are bigger still! The elections are only 24 days away and the need for rebuilding and repair in our culture and in our political system is profound. Help us to trust in you!

Verse: Galatians 5:13 “For you, brothers, were called to freedom. Only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity to gratify your flesh, but through love make it your habit to serve one another.”

Sunday October 11, 2020 | Commitment

Somehow, it’s entirely possible to “love the Lord” with our “good works”, with our “good intentions, and even our “talents and abilities.” What God really wants, however, is not a situation by which others notice our dedication and service, but 100% genuine commitment only you can see. The kind of commitment only You can measure. Lord, how I perform for you on stage -or in public- is not ultimately what matters. What’s important is what’s inside of me. Only you can see that! Help me to love you and serve you, during this election season and always, with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength.

Verse: Luke 10:27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Below are daily prayer prompts for Monday September 28th to Sunday October 4th. Thank you for praying with us!

Monday September 28, 2020 |  Deception

How many times have you seen someone post an “oops” message on social media because they discovered that their previous post was nothing but a well-crafted hoax? The world is filled with competing voices and biased spin. Lord, as mere humans, we are fallible and prone to deception. Adam and Eve were deceived by the serpent in the garden and the enemy has never stopped telling lies. In the midst of all the noise, lock our focus and our attention onto You! Speak truth to us, by your Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us!

Verse: John 8:44 “…there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Tuesday September 29, 2020 |  Wisdom

Some things are quite obvious and some really aren’t. As we navigate this thing called ‘life” (especially during election season) it is entirely possible to get caught up in movements and causes that sound “good” and seem “compassionate” but really have nothing whatsoever to do with You, Heavenly Father. Give us supernatural Wisdom in navigating the through the mayhem and the confusion, and on election day, give us laser-focused discernment and wisdom in choosing candidates that reflect your values and best represent your plan and your purpose.

Verse: James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

Wednesday September 30, 2020 |  Help and Strength

God, you are known by many names. Alpha and the Omega (The Beginning and The End), Adonai (Sovereign Master), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner), Jehovah Rapha (The God who Heals), Jehovah Jireh (The God who Provides). No doubt your names refer to your attributes and power, but they also give us confidence to know that you are the all-powerful, all-consuming, multi-faceted God of the Universe who is able to do all things, regardless of circumstances. Father, we are your children and our desire is to honor you. We are your bride, the Church…and even in turbulent times we want to bring you glory. Sometimes we fail because we grow weary. Sometimes we fail because we are broken. Many times we fail because we simply do not trust you. Help us, God. Use us, we pray. Election season or not, empower us to do the work of your kingdom no matter what the opposition or obstacles may be.

Verse: Exodus 17:11-12 “Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”

Thursday October 1, 2020 |  Advocate

Paul asked in Romans 8:31, “…If God is for us, who can be against us?” Those are comforting words at a time when the world around us is not only disinterested in God but outright hostile towards God! Jesus said in John 15:18 “…If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you!” How powerful and freeing it is to know that you, Lord Jesus are personally interceding on our behalf! You are praying for us! We have an important job to do as your ambassadors, and that may cause us to fear, but we know that you are interceding for our protection, our perseverance and our victory!

Verse: Romans 8:34 “Who is there to condemn us? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, He indeed is interceding for us.”

Friday October 2, 2020 | Pastors

As we enter into October (Pastor Appreciation Month), God, we thank you for those who labor to feed us the truth of your Word. We thank you for faithful and diligent pastors who teach and encourage us and equip us for the work of ministry in your Kingdom. Today we ask for your blessing on pastors everywhere. Provide comfort, diligence, strength, rest, encouragement and supernatural understanding for whatever you are calling them to do, and may we never forget to support them, remembering that you have appointed them to lead your Church. One can only imagine the stress so many of our Pastors experience while trying to care for their own families as well as the flock you have entrusted to them. Give them boldness and courage as they preach the truth of your Word and ready our hearts for November.

Verse: Jeremiah 3:15 “And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Saturday October 3, 2020 | Expectancy

Over the years, many authors like Hal Lindsay (The Late Great Planet Earth) and Edgar Whisenant (88 Reasons Why Christ Will Return in 1988), have argued that the second coming of Christ was imminent. Others have foolishly tried to predict the exact day and even the hour that Jesus would return. Here is what we know for sure: A.) you are truly coming back and B.) we are closer today than we have ever been before to the day that we see you face to face! Until then, your plan and purpose has not been fully accomplished on planet earth, Lord Jesus, and we are your ambassadors! Help us to testify boldly in word and deed about the difference you have made in our lives. Help us to walk faithfully with you and vote wisely on November 3rd! May we never shrink away from talking about the forgiveness, abundant life, eternal life, freedom, and the opportunity we have discovered that can only be found in you!

Verse: Joel 2:1 “Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near…”

Sunday October 4, 2020 | Deliverance

John 10:10 says “The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy…” It should not be a surprise then that Satan has placed a target on members of God’s family and would love -using any means necessary- to derail and/or destroy as many faithful followers of Jesus as possible. What we need to remember is that Satan is cunning and deceptive and will use virtually anything to keep us from fulfilling our God-given purpose. These things may include pride, jealousy, anger, resentment, discouragement, bitterness, destructive habits, negative attitudes, and fearful hearts. But we have a mandate to be your ‘witnesses’ (Acts 1:8). Our responsibility is to walk in obedience with you and to serve you faithfully as you build your Kingdom. Lord Jesus, in your death, burial and promised resurrection, you utterly defeated the power of death, hell and the grave! We have nothing to fear. May we rise up with confidence, and stand firm in our conviction that nothing is impossible with you!

Verse: 2 Samuel 22:1-3 “And David spoke to the LORD the words of this song on the day when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence.”
