SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I’ve been sharing with you that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the Benefits of Speaking in Tongues. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the Benefits of Speaking in Tongues. Or think of someone who wants to commit adultery and they’re going to go pray in tongues while they’re committing adultery. Doesn’t work. Okay. You can’t lie while you’re praying in tongues. So if you have temptation, pray in tongues because it’s not very easy to sin while you’re praying in tongues. If you’re having bad thoughts, pray in tongues. So whenever you feel temptation or even worries or doubts, pray in tongues. It energizes you. It charges you. You feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. And it can shoot out those thoughts of fear, doubt, unbelief, temptation. The presence of the Holy Spirit becomes very real. Hallelujah. Reason five, speaking in tongues brings the tongue under subjection. James 3.8, but no man, now I italicize the word man. Let’s put it like this. No flesh can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil full of deadly poison. A lot of people would look at that and think, oh, we’re hopeless. But the Holy Spirit can tame your tongue. Yielding your tongue by praying in tongues tames your tongue. So no man or flesh, if you have a problem with a big mouth, and there are people who do, have the big mouth problem that’s always open mouth, insert foot. Or it can be an unclean mouth. It can be bad language. And they’re thinking, but I can’t tame my tongue. Yes, you can pray in tongues because when you’re praying in tongues, you are yielding your tongue or you’re yielding your whole self to following the spirit, giving your tongue to obey the Holy Spirit. And that tames the tongue. And so by the power of the Holy Spirit, by praying in tongues, you can get control over an unruly tongue. And the tongue can be brought under subjection. Hallelujah. Amen. And reason number six, speaking in tongues as a means of keeping free from worldly contamination. And I think about, you know, when you work in the world and you go to work in a worldly place and you’ve got other people around you and they’re talking maybe dirty jokes or a Those are unclean and they do defile you. They dirty you spiritually. And that’s where we talked on the power of the blood. You need a blood bath after you’ve seen and heard things in the world that are unclean. Oh Lord, wash my eyes in the blood. Wash my ears in the blood. Wash my mind in the blood. Cleanse me of all that. But guess what? You can keep it from getting in you by speaking in tongues. Let me share with you the example of a water fountain. Now, if you turn off the water, there’s that hole where the water comes out. You can jam a piece of paper down in there and clog it up and block it up. Because the water is not flowing. But if you’ve got that fountain on and it’s shooting up, what if you try to throw a wad of paper into that fountain? What’s going to happen? It’s going to just shoot it out. It’s going to shoot it out. You cannot put that piece of paper down in that spout if the water is on. And if it’s shooting out, it’s going to push that out. And so by praying in tongues, because as Jesus said, I might have it right here. John 7, 37 to 39. On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, if anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this, he met the Holy Spirit. Now, you don’t have flowing streams when you’re born again. You have a well. It’s in you, but not flowing out of you when you’re born again. But when you’re baptized in the spirit, then it becomes a flowing stream because it’s moving up and stirring up in you, flowing out through your lips. Streams of living water will flow from within him. By this, he meant the spirit whom those… who believed in him were later to receive up to that time. The spirit had not been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified. So Jesus is talking about rivers of living water. And if you pray in tongues, you know that it’s a river. You can feel it or a spring. Of water that’s shooting up on the inside. I can start praying. And I feel that stirring and bubbling on the inside. And you let it flow and come out your mouth. And that is pushing out. So anything anybody else is saying. Nothing is getting in. Nothing else can come in to my heart or into my mind, even hardly, when I am pouring out in tongues. So if you’re in a place where there’s unclean language and stuff, then don’t do it out loud where everybody around you hears you, but you can do it under your breath to yourself. You go up there and go, shundepar kariyandar. And you don’t have to let anybody else know you’re doing it, but you’re letting that river flow. You’re just letting it flow while you’re sitting there and everybody else is around you talking about stuff, but you’re not getting contaminated. You keep yourself clean by speaking in tongues. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Amen. There is anointing and speaking in tongues of various kinds. But I think grief would be dealt with more through the word of God speaking to you. But the word of God speaking to you can come as you speak in tongues and then God talks back. So tongues can help, but you really need to get an answer from God. You need to hear from God, but tongues can help you hear from God. And we’ll get to that. It sensitizes. Praying in tongues sensitizes your spirit to help you hear the Holy Spirit. And you can hear God talking to you. And the spirit of grief actually needs to be cast out. It needs to be rebuked. It needs to be resisted. It needs to be cast down just like the spirit of fear. It’s an evil spirit. And so you take the word of God, the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. And you address that. I command the spirit of grief to go. I do not accept that. And then you receive the word of God and the anointing of joy. And it comes from God’s word and God’s presence. But yes, praying in tongues can take you into that place because you can get into God’s presence and start speaking in tongues. And then the laughter comes all over you. And there have been people who have been anointed with laughter and it delivered them from grief because So speaking in tongues, like I said before, the baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues is a doorway to the supernatural. And so it can access you into the place where, yes, you can receive a healing in your soul, your heart. Amen. Praise the Lord. Reason number seven. Praying in tongues is praying in agreement with God’s perfect will. Hallelujah. Romans 8, 26 and 27. In the same way, the spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for. But the spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. I mean, stop there a minute. I have had people who don’t have the baptism in the Holy Spirit argue with me that they don’t need it. I don’t need it. I can pray. You run out of words really fast. How smart do you think you are? And how much do you know the future? And how much do you know what’s around the corner over there that you don’t see? And you know all the answers to all your problems? I mean, you wouldn’t have any problems if you knew everything. The fact that you’ve got problems is proof you don’t know everything. And I’m like, how can people argue that I know how to pray? I can pray. I don’t need tongues. No, you don’t. The Bible says we do not know what we ought to pray for. So then if the Bible says you don’t know what you ought to pray for, then why do you say you do know? You’re arguing against God. Take it up with him. God said you don’t know what you ought to pray for. And don’t argue with me about it. Take it up with him. Cause that’s what he said. That’s powerful. We don’t know. We don’t know the answer. We don’t have the wisdom for every situation, every problem, but God does. Hallelujah. Therefore he intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And that can include tongues because tongues are utterances that are not known words and 27, and he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the spirit because the spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And guess what? If you only pray with your natural understanding, you will make mistakes because you don’t know what God’s will is in every situation. And there are people who pray their will be done rather than God’s will be done. God, make my son do this. God, make my husband do this. Well, they’re praying there will be done. And they’re not praying in accordance with God’s will. So you can pray the most perfect prayer by praying in tongues with the wisdom of God, the knowledge of God, his will to be done when you don’t know his will and you get flesh and selfishness out of it. And there’s a lot of prayers that are fleshy and selfish and self-centered and God, I want this and I need this and make this happen. There’s a lot of wrong praying, but you can pray right and pray perfect every time when you pray in tongues. Hallelujah. You’ll have the most pure, unselfish prayer. When you pray in tongues, you’ll have the most humble prayer, unselfish prayer, loving prayer, powerful and anointed prayer, wise prayer, knowledgeable prayer. When you get out of your head and pray in tongues, it is the most powerful prayer. Praise the Lord. And this leads to reason number eight, praying in tongues enables us to pray for the unknown. There are so many things we don’t know. I mean, every problem and issue you have to deal with is you’re wondering what to do about it. And God has the answer. And when it comes to the future, what decisions should you make? How should you do this? Where should you live? What job should you take? Plans for the next year or five years or whatever. You don’t know the future, but God does.
