On this edition of Victorious Faith, Cherri Campbell continues her series “The God of Miracles” with another teaching from “Lessons From Jesus’ Healing Miracles, Part Two.” Focusing on the story of the paralytic lowered through the roof, Cherri explores why some people receive healing while others remain blocked from receiving what God desires to give.
Teaching through Luke 5 and multiple Gospel passages where Jesus healed entire multitudes, Cherri emphasizes that Jesus never refused healing to anyone who came to Him in faith. She argues that healing is consistently revealed in Scripture as part of God’s will and repeatedly points
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I began sharing with you yesterday that I preached in a six message series in our Victorious Faith services called The God of Miracles. This is message three in that series called Lessons from Jesus Healing Miracles Part Two. So join me now in our live service for part two of this message, Lessons from Jesus Healing Miracles Part Two. They couldn’t even get in the door. They couldn’t find a narrow path to squeeze between people and to say, step aside, step aside. Let us bring this man to Jesus. There was no room to even ask people to step aside six inches. That means they were packed like sardines in that building so that these men had to go up on the roof. That means there were a lot of people there. Now, in any crowd, let’s say even if it was a small building, it would have probably held at least 30 people. Even if it was a house and they moved out all the tables and chairs. it would probably seat at least 30 people packed like sardines. And very likely it was even a larger house than that. Could have seated 50 or 100 people. All right. Well, let’s even be conservative. In a group of 30 people, do you think more than one person would have an illness? Absolutely. When I have asked people, and I’m not going to do it now, in a congregation, in a service, raise your hand if you have anything that you would like to be healed from. It’s usually more than 50% of the people have something healed. whether it’s an allergy or hard of hearing or blood pressure, blood sugar, usually it’s at least 50% of the people say, yeah, I’ve got something I can use healing in my body. Well, that means that there were plenty of people there, even if conservatively we say only 30 people in the building. And especially back in that day, they didn’t have doctors as well. The doctors they had didn’t know what they know today. They didn’t have medicines and they didn’t have treatments. So whereas today you can get a surgery and get cured of things, you can take medicine and get cured. They did not have those cures. So it’s much more likely would have been higher than 50%. So you can say at least 15 people. My point is there would have been a number of people in the building who could have used a healing, but the Bible records only one man got it. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. The sick was all the sick. And we already read in our last service in Matthew chapter 4, 23 and 24, he healed every disease. Verse 24, news is spread about him all over Syria. People brought to him all who were ill with various diseases. He healed them, indicating all of them. And then Matthew 9, 35, he healed every disease and sickness. Matthew 12, 15, he healed all their sick. Matthew 14, verse 14, he healed their sick. Verse 35, the people brought all their sick to him. Verse 36, all who touched him were healed. And so you see again, again and again, this is where we spent time in our last service and you should go back and listen. In the ministry of Jesus, Jesus never refused to heal anybody. There is no record of Jesus saying no to anybody. Nobody came to him and was turned away, said, no, it’s not my will. No, this sickness is to teach you a lesson. See, those things are not scriptural because they’re not in scripture. There’s no scripture base that says it’s not God’s will to heal. Jesus said he came to do the father’s will. Jesus said that again and again, especially in the book of John, gospel of John. He said, I do only those things I see my father do. And I say only those things that I hear my father say. He said, I came to do my father’s will. So Jesus was the will of God in action. He did the perfect will of God. And in this list of scriptures here, he never said no. He never turned anybody away. He never said this sickness is to teach you a lesson. He always healed them all. He healed them all again and again. And I just gave you a few scriptures. I gave you five scripture passages that we studied last time. And I made the comment, surely there would have to be one undeserving person in the crowd who did receive a healing. There had to have been sinners there, adulterers, liars, cheaters, fornicators, thieves. And in the multitudes, which I said, thousands upon thousands, and in the great multitudes, it was tens of thousands. And Jesus healed them all. That means he never turned any away, not even the unworthy ones. And of course, that was before he went to the cross, so none of them were born again. And he healed them all. Well, if Jesus healed them all time and time and time and time again, but in Luke five, he’s in a building indoors and he’s sitting there teaching and preaching. But while he’s teaching and, You may not know this, but the anointing to heal can come into a service even while the preacher is preaching or teaching. And if the preacher isn’t aware of it, he can miss it and overlook it and not flow with the healing anointing, stop his teaching and minister healing to people. preachers today can do that. Well, I guarantee you, Jesus did not miss it. Jesus did not fail to flow in the spirit and minister healing as he should have done. So it was not Jesus fault that the power was present in a room crowded with You can be sure that there were multiple people who could have, would have needed a healing. But in this explicit description, the Bible records only one man got healed. Why? Because he took it by faith. And let me point out, people think that it’s all up to God and that is completely wrong. We have a part to play in being good receivers. That’s why I sometimes lead the people to confess, I am a good receiver. So let’s say it right now. I am a good receiver because, and I’ve heard this example before, in American football, the quarterback has the ball and he’s looking to his teammates for, To throw the ball to. What is their position title that he throws the ball to? They are called the receivers. They’re the receivers. So he’s looking among his teammates, the receivers. For a man who’s open, who’s not being blocked and where the ball would be intercepted, he’s looking for an open receiver before he throws the ball. God is looking for open receivers. And not every Christian, even though they need a healing, not every Christian is an open receiver. even though they want healing and they may want it desperately. It doesn’t mean they are an open receiver. There are certain qualifications to being a qualified receiver. And to put it simply, if you’ve heard my teaching on the spiritual laws of the kingdom, um, If you haven’t, I encourage you go listen to the kingdom of God series. And then the primary seven spiritual laws that I teach in depth, the law of love, the law of faith, the law of the creative power of words, the law of authority to rule the law of sowing and raping the law of wisdom, which is being led by the spirit, the The spirit of God is the spirit of wisdom. So the law of wisdom being led by the spirit. And then number seven, the law of obedience doing and following and doing the will of God. Do you realize that failing in any of those can block receiving of anything, whether it’s finances or healing or breakthroughs? These seven spiritual laws work together. They’re interrelated and interconnected and interdependent. Faith works by love. Love works by faith. Authority works by speaking words. You bind and lose with words, but you must do it with faith in love. And the power of words is by faith, but you must always be walking in love and recognizing that you are taking authority. You must be led by the spirit and you must be willing and obedient, doing the will of God, following the Holy spirit, where he tells you to go. If you’re out of the will of God, you can be missing your blessings, including things you need and want when you’re out of the will of God. But it’s a clear thing that not walking in love, Can block healing. There are so many scriptures. I’ll get to it here. Well, let’s just jump down to it in Roman numeral five under the paralytic letter E letter E. Because Jesus said, which is easier to say your sins are forgiven or to say, get up and walk and letter E. The same power that forgives also heals. Psalm 103 verse three, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. And I only give you two examples here, but there are many scriptures in the Bible that pair forgiveness of sin. with healing. They’re paired together. Forgiveness of sin with healing. He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. And James 5, 15, the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person. Well, the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. So notice the forgiveness of sin and the healing of the sick are paired together. Well, the same channel that you receive forgiveness through, uh, You also must give forgiveness. You must forgive because if you are blocking the forgiveness channel by not forgiving somebody who has wronged you, that’s also the same forgiveness channel that healing flows through and It will be blocked. It will block your receiving of healing. And so if you do not forgive, it can and often will stop healing. What you just heard was part two of message three in a six message series that I preached in our victorious faith services called the God of miracles. And this message is called lessons from Jesus healing miracles part two. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
