SPEAKER 02 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning we are going to continue and conclude a message that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called How to be Led by the Holy Spirit. So join me now in our live service for the conclusion of this message, How to be Led by the Holy Spirit. You’re missing the first step. God is saying, just do this. Just say this. Just talk to so-and-so. And you’re missing that first step, trying to look at that last step. So therefore, again, look at the little things. The little things are big to God. The little things are big to God. And many times God will not give you any further direction until you’ve obeyed the first step. You’ve taken that first step. And so if you’ve ever gone for a while and you’re saying, God, I haven’t heard from you. You’re not talking to me. You better check what was the last thing he said. Did you do it? Because he’s not going to talk anymore until you do that. It’s like sometimes you’ve had kids and you’ve told them to do one thing and you’re not going to say anything more about anything else until they take care of that. And so that’s the way God works until you take that one step. He’s not going to talk to you about the rest. So if you’re not hearing anything, it’s like God is silent for a while. Then you better go back to see what was the last thing he said and make sure you’ve done it and that you’re up to where you should be with him. And then also these little things are big things in God’s eyes. They are tests. The little steps are tests of your obedience. The little steps are tests to our obedience, right? And they are tests for qualifying us to receive the bigger and greater things that God has for us in life. If we obey him with this, like if you’re faithful, Jesus said with the little, God can trust you with much. But if you’re obedient with this little step, God can open up a whole lot more to you. So these little steps are big things to God. They are tests and they qualify us for the bigger and the better things. Hallelujah. And then, like I said, it requires faith, faith that you’ve heard the Lord, faith to act on what you heard and to do what he said. Hallelujah. And to step out. And there are times when you’re not really sure. Is this God or not? I’m not quite sure. And you’re not quite sure in here if you’re getting a real clear signal. Well, as you start to step in that way, God can then clarify it. You can take the first step and then he can. It’s like you can’t steer a parked car. You can’t steer a parked car. So it’s as you start to act in obedience, in faith, God can say now, not that way, but this way. But as long as you’re sitting back and waiting for something else, God can’t steer you or direct you. So you’ve got to start taking that step and then trust him. Trust him. Trust him. Jude 24 says he is able to keep you from falling. Hallelujah. He is able to keep you from falling. Praise the Lord. And then the last and the sixth step is it takes practice. Practice makes perfect. Practicing helps you to grow and develop in spiritual awareness and spiritual sensitivity. Remember, we talked about sensitivity and the more you practice, the more you become aware. So as you practice asking the Lord every day about all the daily things, do you do this? Do you do this? Do you wear this? Do you eat this? Do you go here? Do you go there? Practice developing that relationship, that conversation with the Holy Spirit. And then if you do something that you think is God and it’s a flop. Then you thought, well, that wasn’t God. But now, you know, you’ve got something. Well, that wasn’t God. And so the practice helps you to begin to become more sensitive. And, you know, I am I’ve practiced this, like I said, since my youth. And even that’s how I would travel to different countries. But getting to be able to understand just a little thought and a little unction now. And I’m that’s God. I know. Do this. Do this. And that is how you learn to follow God every day. So be sensitive. This is developing sensitivity and the Lord is not going to get mad at you. You just trust him and he’s going to always help you. If you miss it, if you miss it. I remember one time, this is quite a few years ago. There was one of those multi-level marketing things going around and I seriously, I prayed and asked God, should I get in it or not? And I felt like he said, yes, go ahead and get in it. It wasn’t a big thing, but I got in it. And just a couple months later, the whole thing folded. But I didn’t lose anything that I had invested in it. God had given me back as much or more than I had invested in it because I had done it in faith. So what I’m saying is, it might not have been the best choice, but it was a practice. And when it was all said and done, I didn’t lose a penny. God had protected. My point is that when you’re acting in faith, that will always protect you. Even if it is ending up to be, whoops, shouldn’t have gotten that one. Shouldn’t have gone that way. The fact that you did it by faith is your protection where God can get you out of it. God can fix it. And if you do mess up, say, Lord, I’m sorry I messed up. And God says, okay. And he’ll pick you up and help you get right back out of it. So as you practice his leadings and his unctions become stronger in your spirit, you become more sensitive. And I was thinking of it, the more you, let’s say a doctor, a professional who becomes very sensitive to the touch, to feeling certain things. And let’s say a doctor, you know, has that thing, he listens to your heart. He knows what to listen for. A mechanic who listens to your engine, tunes his ear to hear certain sounds. He can tell if it’s on or off, off just a little bit. He knows how to fix it. He can hear it because he tuned himself to it. The doctor even has to feel for things. His finger, I don’t know, when we go to the dentist now, they always want to do that check on your neck. Well, they know what to feel. They’re sensitive and they’re trained to know what to be sensitive to. So what I’m saying is the more you practice it, your sense of the spirit gets more sensitive. And you’re like, oh yeah, I know. It might just be a little bit of a prompting. Go here, go there. I like this example. When you’re first starting out, God wants you to hear him more than you do. So he’ll be saying, Cecilia! Cecilia! And like, is God around here somewhere? And hey, Cecilia, over here. Oh, yes, God, I hear you. And then you get to know a little better. Hey, Cecilia. Yeah, God, I can hear you.
SPEAKER 01 :
Cecilia, can you hear me now? Yeah, I can hear you. Cecilia, can you hear me now? Yeah, I can hear you. Cecilia, can you hear me now? Yeah, I can hear you, Lord. Can you hear me?
SPEAKER 02 :
Yes, Lord, I hear you. See, he’s going to start out shouting to you, but the more you get to know him, you can hear him say, Cecilia, Cecilia, Cecilia. And he just whispers your name and you’re like, yes, Lord, I hear, I hear, I hear, I hear. He doesn’t need to shout. He doesn’t need to bang anything, blow any horns. Just that Cecilia. And he’s got your attention. I hear it, Lord. Yeah. That’s how you grow. You can become so sensitive that you can hear the quietest, stillest, small voice or even the little. I mean, it used to be. There’s a scripture in Psalms. Let’s quickly look to Psalms. Psalm 32, 9. Psalm 32, 9. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Don’t be like the horse and the mule that you’ve got to have a bit bridle and rains like stop. You got to stop. And you’re pulling hard on that rain and making him stop. But they call it a rain trained horse. Just the rain and you just slightly lay it on the neck. Now there’s that thick hide they’ve got. And yet they feel the slightest touch of the rain on the right side. And they turn on the left side and they turn just a little light touch and they can feel it and they obey. They’re not having to be like the mule, especially so stubborn. A lot of Christians are like mules, right? They’re so stubborn and God is trying to go this way, go this way, go this way. But God says, don’t be like that. Become sensitive to the littlest whisper. And that witness on the inside, instead of being a hard shove, it just becomes a little prompt. And you learn to know that’s the Holy Spirit prompting, go here, do this. But you get sensitive to that littlest touch, that littlest unction prompting of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Amen. Praise God. So practicing makes you sensitive. And let me just say this, disobedience hardens you. Disobedience hardens you. The more you disobey and you don’t follow, you become duller and duller and duller. Less and less sensitive. You get to where you don’t even hear it or know it anymore. It dulls you and hardens you. And the last thing I want to say about this is this key. And I heard a man of God say this. A pastor was saying God was speaking to him. And let me just read what God actually said. God said, you don’t have to seek some God out there. And he’s like describing Christians who say, God, where are you? God, where are you? I need you. I need your help. God, where are you? Show me what to do. He said, I’ve put my spirit in you. You don’t look for something out there, but in you. You don’t have to wonder what my will is. It’s in you. It’ll rise up in you. You’re so busy trying to listen to what’s out there that you’re not hearing what’s in here. So start listening in your spirit. He said, that’s my home. That’s where I live. He’s in here, inside. So learn to be God inside minded. And another way I say this is also learn to trust your heart. Learn to trust your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge him and he will guide, direct your paths. But a lot of times it’s like your head says this is the best way to go, but your heart says this is the way. Learn to trust your heart because… That’s where the Holy Spirit is. And like I said, it doesn’t take long. I had a friend one time ask me, what should I do? What should I do? What should I do? And I just looked at her and I said, you know. You just need to get quiet and recognize it’s in there right now. And she got, well, yeah, I guess I do know. But there was all this mind and mental and emotional frustration going on about it that she was not paying attention to what she really knew on the inside. And that’s what a lot of people are doing. All the mental frustrations and questionings and doubtings and worryings. And if they would learn to shut that off, you know, it’s already down there. It’s inside of you. And it doesn’t take long. Usually you can get a knowing right away when you ask. It’s on the inside. So learn to be God inside minded. Listen, it’s like tune inward when you want to hear God, not look outward and upward, but inward. God, what do you say? Where are you saying? And listen and look in there and it’ll be right there. It’ll be right there. It’s not going to take long. It’ll be there as soon as you look. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Praise God. Learn to listen to your spirit because that’s where God is. He’s in you. Amen. Praise God. Now join me again tomorrow for another inspiring and faith-building message. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
