This episode brings a powerful discussion on embracing humility and intercession as pathways to divine redemption. As the conversation unfolds, Kimberly and Barbara address the concerns surrounding political shifts in Colorado and beyond, emphasizing prayer as a unifying force. With reflections from Isaiah 35, they illuminate how God’s light transforms desolate places into blossoming sanctuaries, urging listeners to partake in creating a renewed land filled with hope and spiritual abundance.

Welcome to Call to Freedom. It’s so good to have you join us. And Kimberly is with me probably for the last time this time, last time in February. But I’m so grateful. The Lord bless you with laughter, a sound he loves to hear. You know, he loves to hear your laughter. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and the decision to walk in that joy today will cast a beautiful light on God’s goodness. That is a promise that God has given to you, and that’s a promise that I am telling you. When you seek God, seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness, all the other things that we get so anxious about are going to be added in full, in full.
Jimmy Lakey (Host) :
That’s right.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Yes, I’m so grateful that you’ve come and come. Taking just a little time, if you have a cup of coffee or cocoa or tea, as Kimberly drinks tea, you can just join us for a half an hour. It goes so quickly, Kimberly. It does. It really does. And Kimberly has, there’s a new Kimberly on Freedom Street, and it’s Kimberly at FreedomStreet.org.
Kimberly (Guest) :
So that’s a new email. Yes. So if you have any questions or comments, anything that you would like to send my direction, please email me. Kimberly at Freedom Street dot org.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
That is marvelous. And friend, you are blessed to dispense. You are blessed to give into the kingdom of God, for in him you live and move and have your being. And even though, you know, I believe that President Trump is going to cut have tax cuts all over the countryside, that we are going to be more generous. more generous in our giving as a church. Yes, to uplift the hearts and bless people with salvation. So many of you have loved ones who are not saved, are not born again. They don’t know the Lord Jesus. And I was writing a note to one of the power partners that I have, and I sent him a power pack saying, And he was talking about loved ones that are not born again. And Darren and I, and I still do, took Matthew 5, verse 6. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. And we prayed that those wonderful loved ones who are not born again will hunger again. and thirst for Jesus Christ and his righteousness. And God is going to fill them up.
Kimberly (Guest) :
Yes, he is. That’s what he does. And he cares more about those loved ones than we do. And when he tells us not to worry or be anxious about anything, that includes our loved ones. Don’t be anxious. Don’t be worried. He’s got a plan.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
He does. Absolutely does. And he has all the time in our world to do it.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Yes.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Even though we think, oh, they have never received Jesus. Oh, they’ve got so much to learn. And he can just zip in the wisdom and knowledge so quickly. It’s just his doing. We have a meeting this Saturday, February 8th, and we’ll be meeting at my home at 10 o’clock. We just have a wonderful time. Kimberly will be providing some of the worship music, and we’re going to sing songs about God’s goodness and his love. Oh, It is so sweet to trust in Jesus. Oh, it really is. Yes. And then after our fellowship and Bible study, we’re going to have lunch. And you can just bring a, if you want to. This is not mandatory, okay? If you want to bring a side dish to join in with the quiche that Kimberly and I are going to fix, then you can just bring your favorite side dish. And we’ll just enjoy the goodness of the Lord for our tummies and for our spirits. Yes. Yes, he feeds us both ways. So call us at 1-877-917-7256. God bless you and hope to see you Saturday.
Kimberly (Guest) :
Yes, I do too. I hope to see you Saturday. Mom said at the top of the hour that this would be my last day. It’s my last live day on the air in the studio, but nothing’s happening to me. I am going to be here Saturday. Lord willing. I will be here Saturday. That’s right. Looking forward to that. Yes. And we’ve been hearing a lot about what President Trump is doing and just a lot of political things. Even here in Colorado, the stuff that’s going on lately has been kind of an upheaval. It can be confusing. It can cause people to be frustrated and irritated. It can cause others to rejoice. And so then it seems divided, but we don’t have to be divided on this. We can start speaking the way our Heavenly Father speaks and speak the way Jesus speaks. We can speak healing to our land. And I was reading in Isaiah 35 this morning how the wilderness and dry land shall be glad and the desert will rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus. It will blossom abundantly. And rejoice even with joy and singing. And they shall see the glory of the Lord. Who is they? The ones who were dry in the wilderness, in the desert. Those who just were around burning sand. I think of the wilderness and the dry land as my own heart and mind. And as the hearts and the minds of those around me who might be stuck and dry and weary in need of fresh, clean water from the throne of God, from the Holy Spirit. And there’s something about dry and thirsty souls that just like you were saying, we can pray that they will become hungry, that they will become thirsty. There’s something about the dry and the thirsty. God loves to meet that need.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
He does.
Kimberly (Guest) :
And dry and thirsty souls, they start remembering sometimes we have to go hungry. We have to be thirsty in order to remember we’re not made for this. We’re not made for the desert. We’re made for so much more. We’re made for green pastures and cool waters. That’s what we’re made for. So they shall see the glory of God. Those who were in the wilderness and dry land, they will blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing joy. They’ll see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God. He gives us excellent feasts.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
That’s right.
Kimberly (Guest) :
He gives water to our thirsty souls and it’s excellent.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
That’s right.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
And it’s so important to know that when we feel discouraged, when we feel not energized but defeated, because if you’re living in Colorado, you’re having just a little issue with the rejoicing that’s going on all over the country because you are a sanctuary state. and for not much longer. And I really believe, Kimberly, that when we speak the goodness of God, as we’ve been praying, you and I have been praying over Colorado, because it was disappointing for Tom Holman and some 200 ICE men who came to Colorado to arrest the Trende Aragua members, and there was only one they could find because social media had warned them all over the state. And so I don’t know where they are, but God knows. And it’s going to be his vengeance, not ours. And I’m so grateful that we have a president now who has put people in authority to I was just thinking this morning about the tragic accident at the Potomac River. And now he’s given men the authority to make sure that the families and the loved ones and all of that is taken care of. And he’s going on to other things. That’s what happens. God has given some of us appointments so that we can do his will on this earth. That’s part of the fruit bearing that he wants us to be bearing here. And while he is going on to greater and mightier heights.
Kimberly (Guest) :
Yeah, you mentioned that Colorado is a sanctuary state, but maybe not for much longer. And when we think of a sanctuary, we think of very positive things. You want a sanctuary, you know, and so wanting to be a sanctuary for those who have had troubled lives. I understand how there would be compassionate people that really want that. convicted felons when they’ve welcomed in convicted uh people criminals who have thank you who who have done so much wrong and hateful things then bring that hate into our state that’s not what we want that’s not the kind of sanctuary we’re talking about Now, I think it’s important to keep going here in Isaiah 35, because in verse four, it says, say to those who are fearful of heart. And let me read from the message. It says, this is what you say to them. Take courage. Take heart. God is here right here on his way to put things right and redress all wrongs. He’s on his way. He will save you. The definition for redress or redress is remedy or set right. for an undesirable or unfair situation. It is not desirable for us to have all of these convicted criminals that are just free on our streets to wreak havoc and do whatever they want to do, causing harm, causing fear. But don’t be fearful of heart. Take courage. God is on his way to put things right, to rectify, to correct, to compensate for a wrong or a grievance. And it’s with the recompense of God that he comes and saves us. Yes. God knows what’s going on.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Yes. And he’s not going to let harm come to his people. I was reading just a little bit ahead. I’m sorry I was. King Hezekiah, you know, God’s people are thinking, boy, he’s brought us out of the wilderness. We’re free. We’re no longer afraid. And all of a sudden, Sennacherib, the Assyrian commander-in-chief, invades judah and destroys cities and god is telling hezekiah he’s saying hezekiah don’t fear don’t fear or be frightened by the blasphemous words of the servants of the king of assyria i will put in him a mindset that will cause him when he hears a certain rumor to flee back to his own country so even in this case in isaiah as i believe it’s going to be in colorado God is saying, don’t be afraid. Don’t be anxious. I’m coming through. My majesty and power are going to be seen by you. Yes.
Kimberly (Guest) :
And let me go on to say how that happens, because we’re talking about saying the things that God would say. We’re speaking the things out of our mouths because that is the power he’s given us, the authority he’s given us. We’re made in his image and our words are powerful. Yes. And we can speak things that are not as though they are, especially when we are in God’s will. Then we are in alignment with him. We’re in agreement with him. And we’re speaking along with him saying, yes, I speak this. So when we say to those who are fearful of heart and you know what? These criminals are fearful of heart. They’re doing these unjust actions, these grievances, these wrongs out of fear in their own hearts. and trying to compensate for that fear. Well, when we start speaking and saying, do not be fearful, take courage. God wants to come and redeem this land and restore. Well, redemption and restoration can’t happen unless there’s brokenness. It has to be broken. Well, that’s true. That’s true. Yes. We’re not just whole. And then we’re redeemed because we’re whole. So we’re not just beautiful and perfect and then we need to be redeemed and be restored when we’re beautiful and perfect. No, that’s not how that works. We’re broken and then we’re redeemed and then we’re restored. We all have to come to a brokenness. we can start saying to those who have seen the brokenness and who’ve been fearful, take courage, take heart. God is right here. He’s on your side and he wants to put things right. And then after we’ve spoken those things, the eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. If some of these people who are doing these wrong things are simply blind, and deaf to the ways of God, they will be put right. The blind eyes will be opened and the deaf will hear when we speak the good things of the Lord over them. And the burning sand and the thirsty ground will become pools and springs of water. In the haunt of the jackals, where they lay resting, it will become grass with reeds and rushes. Wow. Water. So the haunt of these street gangs, we want them to find our Lord. We want them to know restoration, to know redemption. You might be thinking they don’t deserve that. Well, that’s not Jesus’ thoughts. Jesus did not let himself be stretched out on a cross thinking this is only for the deserving ones. None of us deserved it. He died for all. And so when we take on his mindset and say, Lord, Father, forgive them. Open their eyes so they can see. Open their ears so they can hear. Take out the stony heart and replace it with a heart of flesh. Verse 8 of Isaiah 35 says, And then a highway shall be there. way, and the unclean will not pass over it. It will be for the redeemed. The ones who’ve been redeemed, the ones who’ve been restored will get to walk on this holy way. There will be no lion there, nor any ravenous beast that will come upon it. They shall not be found there, but only the redeemed will walk on it. And so we are praying. We’ve been speaking together and praying together that there will be redemption and restoration in the state of Colorado and in the state of Oklahoma. That’s where I’m from. So we’re believing it for for homes, for families, for churches, for communities, for businesses and especially the political realm.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Yes, right now. Yours is the only state, Kimberly, this is just a phenomenon. Yours is the only state where every county in your state voted for President Trump. The only state in the whole United States of America. So President Trump even brings up Oklahoma quite often.
Kimberly (Guest) :
We do have some precious, precious people in Oklahoma. And there are many of us there that believe Second Chronicles 714. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray. and seek my face and turn, turn from their wicked ways. Now, sometimes we think of wicked ways as being all the awful things that happen, murder, lying, stealing, and wreaking havoc on the streets. But wicked ways are simply our own opinions and our own ideas, our own agendas. When you have your own selfish agenda to acquire something that you want, you might steal it. If you have your own motive and it’s laced with covetousness and you are coveting something else, you might just take it. You might murder for it. When you lay down selfishness and you lay down your own ideas and your own opinions. Then God will hear from heaven because you’re seeking his face. You’re seeking his ways. You want his ways and not your own. Then he will hear from heaven. He will forgive the sin and heal their land.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
I believe that when Christians pray that, Father God, if your people who are called by their name shall humble themselves and pray and seek your face, then you will hear from heaven and forgive their sins. We separate ourselves sometimes from, well, I’m born again now, so I don’t have to I might not have that sin. That’s right. We’re above that. We’re just thinking of other people here that are sinners and they need to change their ways. We all have sin in our life that we need to look to and change.
Kimberly (Guest) :
be accountable for in some ways and if you do a study on the most profound intercessors of the bible and when i say profound intercessors i’m talking about moses he interceded for an entire nation of people in the wilderness dry wilderness people and you know they were not brought from the wilderness into a promised land so that they could just keep it all to themselves We all come from our own dry wilderness into a place of green pastures and fresh waters so that we can share it with others so that we can intercede. Now, Moses, when he interceded, he always said, Lord, forgive us. He never said, Lord, forgive them.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
He didn’t say that. That’s right. He included himself as a lot of other prophets. Daniel was great at that, too. Books of the Bible. Yes.
Kimberly (Guest) :
Lord, we have sinned, and we will not go any further from here if it’s not with you. We want your presence with us. So be with us, Lord, here in Colorado, and keep your presence with us. Jesus is the one who really showed us Matthew 11. I just love Matthew 11, 25 through 30. And he showed us how to yield ourselves to the Father. At that time, Jesus began to say, Yes, Father, such was your gracious will and good pleasure. Matthew 11, 26, Yes. I love that Jesus wants us to know the father. He wants us to know the father’s ways. And so he and Holy Spirit are on a mission to reveal, to open our eyes, open the eyes of the blind. So then the blind can see, then the deaf can hear. And this is my favorite part. I think everyone loves this section of Matthew 11, 28 through 30. Come to me. all you who labor and are heavy laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. I will ease and relieve and refresh your soul. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am gentle and humble in heart. He has learned how to humble himself in the sight of the Lord. I’m gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. How? By humbling yourself. That’s right. And taking his yoke up with you. The yoke is the humbling. That’s right. It’s learning how to be humble. When you learn to humble yourself, that means that you are laying down your own ideas and your own opinions of how you think the politics should be run.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Mm-hmm.
Kimberly (Guest) :
You’re laying down your own ideas to take up God’s ideas. There’s the yoke that you want. It’s easy. It’s light. It is not a burden. And it brings us rest for our souls, an oasis of rest. Fresh water and green pastures, just all the foods and fruits and vegetables and grains that we could possibly want overflowing in our lives. Amen. Jesus way is humble. He lays down all of his defensiveness and he submits to the way of our heavenly father. He trusts that our father, God is writing a script and he trusts that script. That script has redemption and restoration written into it. That means that there will be some brokenness because that is what our world is. It’s broken. But there will always be the ultimate plan of redemption and restoration. And we can trust that. That’s how we humble ourselves and say, okay, we see that you are the one on the throne and we trust you are working all things together for good.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
Yes, he sees everything, Kimberly. And in fact, in the middle of Matthew 11, which is really interesting, Jesus saw the condition of some of these cities that he had gone into, and he had healed people in those cities. They did not repent. And there is a portion of this beautiful state of Colorado that are conservative and they’re born again believers. They love God with all their heart. I’m speaking to you. Yes, today you love God with all your heart. You’re saying, how can we change? It’s not we. It’s Father God. I thank you. You are changing the climate of this state because Jesus himself said, woe to you, Karazim. Woe to you, Bethsaida. Verse 2. Verse 3. I mean, God knows the people that are going to be gritting their teeth and not repenting. He knows them. But he also knows the people that are gentle of heart, that are taking up their yoke with Jesus. And you are one. And I praise God for you. And I praise God for the intercession that you’re sending up to the throne of God. That, God, you are in control here. And I’m going to trust you and wait on you.
Kimberly (Guest) :
Right. Amen. Yes. James 5 encourages us to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, and then he will lift us up. When we go back to Isaiah 35, and we’re looking at the way that this highway will be called the holy way, and only the redeemed will walk on it, the people God has ransomed will come back on this road, the holy way. Why did they have to be ransomed? It’s because we are guided by our own understanding and we choose reason over God’s love and grace. We do it all the time. That’s right. We choose natural senses over his supernatural ways. And when we choose to make our way back to God’s ways, humbling ourselves, then we will sing as we make our way home to Zion and we will have unfading crowns or halos of joy circling our heads. You know what that is? That is your mind. Our head is where our mind is. That’s where confusion, fear, pride, anger, doubt, chaos, grief, frustration. It all is in our head. And when we have the crown of joy and the halo of joy. circling our heads, we come back home where we really belong home to him, home to God’s ways with gifts of joy and gladness and every sorrow and all sighing flee away.
Barbara Carmack (Host) :
So good. Ecstatic joy will overwhelm them. Weariness and grief will disappear. We don’t want to be weary and we don’t want any grief to keep us from loving God and being close to him. He’s doing a miraculous thing here, Kimberly, in the United States of America. We want to be a part of that. We do.
Kimberly (Guest) :
