Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I’ve been sharing with you all this week that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services in a series of messages called, What is the Word? And this is part one, God. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, What is the Word? God. You should look even in your concordance where Paul said, I pray and I ask God because what Paul prayed… Those prayers were written down, recorded for all time for eternity in scripture because they are supernatural prayers. They’re God’s will being prayed. And so find those prayers and pray them yourself. for yourself and for your loved ones. And so again, praying the word is the most powerful way to pray. So pray the word. Don’t pray too fast. Go to the word first so that you can have faith. Because without the word, you don’t have faith. Without faith, your prayer doesn’t get answered. Ineffective, powerless. You have to build your faith to receive what you are asking for. So go to the word, get the word first, get God’s wisdom and direction and faith built up in your heart, and then pray. Then your prayers will be powerful and effective. And with worship, about worship, without the word of God, worship also becomes dry and What people think is worship is often not worship. Many times it’s crying, begging, whining, grieving. All kinds of things have been called worship that are not because people don’t understand God. They don’t understand his nature or his ways as he has revealed himself in the word. So fellowship with God first in his word. Word first and then prayer and worship. Because the word is God and the word reveals God. And makes your prayer powerful and effective. Makes your worship powerful and effective. And it keeps you on track of correctness instead of getting off in error. Amen. And then what else is the word? The word is also Jesus. Jesus is the word. Revelation 19, 13. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood and his name is the word of God. His name is the word of God. So Jesus is the word. And again, John 1, we read John 1, 1 about God. In the beginning was the word. The word was with God and the word was God. So there you see was God. That’s the father. But actually the word is referring to Jesus himself as the word personified. Jesus is the word personified. We see it more clearly as we keep reading in John 1, verses 1 through 4. In the beginning was the word. The word was with God. The word was God. He was with God. In the beginning. So right there we see a distinction. We actually see the two persons. Father and son. Because you don’t say the father was with the father. I was with myself. That’s crazy. So you wouldn’t say he was with God if they’re both referring to the father. So the he is referring to Jesus, the son being with the father. He is the word was with the father who is also the word. So we see both persons, father and son together in these verses. He was with God. That’s Jesus in the beginning. Through him, all things were made. That’s through Jesus. Without him, Jesus, nothing was made that has been made. Although it’s also the father because everything was made by the father. In him was life and that life was the light of men. Now that is Jesus. Because the father never came to be the light of men. Jesus came and he said, I am the light of the world. So this is referring to Jesus specifically in verse four. In him was life and that life was the light of men. But it’s all the word. The word was with God. The word was God. He was with God. He the word. He the word. And like I read in Revelation 19, his name is the word of God. And I want to, I didn’t put this in here, but I want to add it in. If you’re taking notes, add Genesis 1 verses 1 through 3. Genesis 1, 1 through 3. And here we see Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in verses 1 through 3 of Genesis 1. In the beginning, God. Now that would be, actually the Hebrew word is Elohim. The name of God, the creator. The creator God. And it’s referring to the Father. But it’s actually referring to the plurality of the triune being, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Because Elohim, in Hebrew, when you add the letters I, M, At the end of a word, it makes the word plural. Like in English, we add the letter S to make a word plural. Like cat becomes cats. A dog, more than one, they are dogs. We add an S to make it plural. In Hebrew, the letters I am at the end of a word make it plural. So Elohim is E-L-O-H-I-M. So his name is actually a plural. Revealing the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And let me throw out again, I’ve said this before, if you’re new to this or haven’t heard this and it’s still a mystery to you, how can God be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and still be one God? Because the Bible says the Lord our God is one, one God. But he’s also Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And we see, not in the Old Testament we don’t see all three named, but in the New Testament we see all three named. Baptizing them, go into all the world, baptizing them, In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. We see all three persons there. But we do see all three persons manifesting in the Old Testament. as well as in the new. And we see all three manifesting in Genesis 1, 1, 2, and 3. So in Genesis 1, God, plural, Trinity. Oh, what I started to say, how can we understand that? In order to try to make it understandable and relatable to our finite brains and very limited understanding, God has helped me with comparing it to an egg. And an egg is three parts. The egg white, the egg yolk, and the egg shell. They can be divided. You can separate the egg shell. You can also separate the egg white from the egg yolk. All three have different characteristics. Different texture. Different color. But each one by itself is not an egg. You just take the egg white, you don’t have an egg. Take the yolk, you don’t have an egg. Take the shell, you don’t have an egg. Put them together, you have an egg. One egg, three parts. Another way to understand that is actually we are made in his image and we are three parts. Spirit and soul and body. And another little Hebrew lesson It’s also Greek. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek. Both languages. The word for spirit is also the same word as the word breath. Breath. Spirit. Sometimes translated life, but it’s actually breath. So when God breathed into Adam the breath of life, you could also say spirited into him. the spirit of life. So in us, we are three part beings. Our spirit is our breath of life. It’s the inner man, the man of the heart, who we are on the inside. Eternal being. Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. Mind, thinking part. Will, the choosing, deciding part. The part of you that makes choices and decisions. Emotions, the part that feels. Mind, will, and emotions. Those are your soul. We think of it up here. Intellect. in our head, we think of the spirit as being down here. We actually call it our heart, but it’s not the blood pump. It’s more of the inner core of our being. And that’s why Jesus said, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. Other cultures don’t ask Jesus into their heart. They ask Jesus into their belly. We use the word heart because we look at the heart of a tree, the heart of a watermelon being the core. But we want to make sure we don’t get it mixed up with the blood pump. But we think of it, it’s the core of our being. And we ask Jesus to come into us and to live in our heart. But it’s actually to live in our spirit and give our spirit new birth. And other cultures, there are some cultures, they ask Jesus to come into their belly. Because that’s where they think of the inner man. And Jesus even said it that way, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. Being out of your inner man, the core being the real you. The real you is you on the inside that lives forever. And it includes your personality and everything. Desires and character. And then your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Now your soul and spirit are joined together. joined. You cannot separate them except one way. Hebrews 4.12, the word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, dividing between soul and spirit, the thoughts and intents of the heart. The only way to divide it is by the word. The word can separate your spirit and your soul. But other than that, your spirit and soul are joined. And when your physical body dies, then your third, your three parts, spirit, soul, and body, the body is the flesh house made of the ground. From dust we come and to dust we shall return. Mortal, your spirit is immortal. Your body is mortal. And it will go to the ground again. When your spirit departs from the body, but your spirit and soul are joined, they will go together. They will stay together for eternity. Never separate your spirit and soul together. Go either to heaven or hell and your body goes back to the ground. Then after the resurrection of the dead, God will come and the twinkling of an eye, we will be changed. And the mortal will put on immortality. And the body will be glorified.
