Good morning. Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you message three in a three message series that I preached in our Victorious Faith services called Who is the Holy Spirit? Now join me in our live service for the continuation of this message. Who is the Holy Spirit? Part three. So through exercise and practice, you can grow all of the fruit of the spirit, but they are in you. When you’re born again, never again say, I don’t have it. It’s in you. You have to develop it and draw on it. Hallelujah. What else is part of the personality of the Holy Spirit? Well, we see that the Holy Spirit is symbolized by a dove. In John… Chapter 1, verse 32. And this is just after Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. And then John gave this testimony. I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. So the spirit came down from heaven as a dove and remained on him. And also the voice of the father said, this is my beloved son and whom I am well pleased right there at the Jordan River at Jesus baptism. there was the manifestation of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, of course, was in the human body, in the flesh, being baptized in the water. But the voice of the Father spoke from heaven, this is my beloved Son. And then the Holy Spirit descended as a dove. And so you see the manifestation of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Now, what does a dove symbolize? Well, I did some research on this and there are several things that a dove is symbolic of. One, a dove is symbolic of purity. Also, peace, you often see it in a peace symbol. It is a symbol of gentleness, of beauty, of love. and of innocence. Matthew 10, 16, Jesus said, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore, be assured as snakes and as innocent as doves. So that’s where we get the innocence of a dove. Innocent as doves. So these characteristics describe the Holy Spirit. As in the symbol of the dove, the Holy Spirit is pure, peace and peaceful and peaceable. The Holy Spirit is gentle. The Holy Spirit is beautiful and the Holy Spirit is love and the Holy Spirit is innocent. We also see the Holy Spirit symbolized by water. In John chapter 7, verses 38 and 39, Jesus said, Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this, he meant the spirit whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time, the spirit had not yet been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified. So here we see streams of living water flowing from within him. By this he meant the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is symbolized by water, but even by a stream of water. By a stream or by flowing water. That’s important because the Holy Spirit is never stagnant. Not like a stagnant body of water like a swamp. Or a reservoir. But the Holy Spirit is always moving. He’s always flowing. And when we think about the move of the Spirit in a service, we also sometimes call it the flow of the Spirit. How is the Spirit flowing? What’s he doing in a service? And that’s for people to discern in a service how the Holy Spirit is moving and flowing. But the Holy Spirit moves and flows in different ways in different times, right? in different directions. And some services can be celebration services and everybody’s shouting with joy. Other services can be very reverent and quiet and deep and worshipful. And it’s because of the way the spirit is moving. Other services, there can be a strong evangelistic call and just people are convicted and there’s a lot of repentance. Some services, there is a flow of healing anointing and people are getting healed in the service because that is the flow of the Spirit in that service. It’s a healing anointing flow. And so… Each service you want to determine or follow and discern what is the Holy Spirit doing. He flows in different ways at different times. So that is important that he symbolized not only by water, but flowing water, moving. He’s always moving. Praise the Lord. Water, what does water symbolize? Well, we know water symbolizes life. Every human being and every animal and every plant requires water to survive. You need water more than you need food. In Ezekiel 47.9, it says, swarms of living creatures will live where the river flows. Now, I want you to take in mind here, think of that even as a spiritual symbolism of the Holy Spirit. So that where the Holy Spirit flows, creatures will live because he brings healing and he brings life. The Holy Spirit brings healing in life. And it says there will be large numbers of fish because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh. So it turns bad water, salty, into fresh water. So where the river flows, everything will live. And that’s so important that you have a daily flowing of the Holy Spirit. I strongly encourage you be baptized in the Holy Spirit. with the evidence of speaking in tongues. And if you haven’t, get my book. I also answer every argument I’ve ever heard from Christians who don’t believe in speaking in tongues. And they’re all there. All questions, all arguments are answered in the book. I encourage you, pray in tongues every day because when Jesus said back in John 7, 38, whoever believes in me as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. By this, he meant the spirit whom those who believed in him were later to receive and Up to that time, the Spirit had not been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified. Now, this could, you know, people could say that applies to being born again. But I believe it applies greatly, more greatly to the baptism of the Holy Spirit that came in Acts chapter 2. Because there is a greater flowing of the Spirit in a person who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit. We’re speaking in tongues. than in a person who has never spoken in tongues. It’s just that way. I mean, I see it everywhere. I can tell the difference when I’m preaching in a church where they do not speak in tongues, and when I preach in a church where they do speak in tongues. There is just a much deeper flow of the Spirit in those people. who speak in other tongues. So I encourage you to do that. Practice it because it will bring a deeper flow of the Holy Spirit in you and in your life, manifesting in all areas of your life. Also then in Revelation 22, 17, the spirit and the bride say, come. Let him who hears say, come. Whoever is thirsty, let him come. And whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. And that’s God’s life, but that’s also the Holy Spirit, the spirit of life. What else does water symbolize? Water symbolizes refreshing and restoration. And I’ll say there also, I was thinking about new life. In that last one, we said new life. But there is also a restoration, for example, even in the body, healing, restoring body parts that are damaged, bruised, injured, sick. There is a healing in this water as well as life. So there’s restoration and there’s refreshing. You know, if you’re on a hot, hot, hot, sunny day and you’re outside and you’re working in the garden or mowing the yard and you are just sweating, it’s running off of you. What do you want? A cold, long drink of water. And so the water is refreshing and it is thirst quenching. And, you know, while I’m talking about this, there is a depth of getting into the flow of the Holy Spirit that you can grow in. And I’m thinking of the word quaff. I looked that up and, you know, it means to drink deeply. Quaff. Do you know that you can drink deeply of the Holy Spirit? Most Christians don’t know how because most Christians aren’t baptized in the Holy Spirit. How do you drink deeply? Start by speaking in tongues. But then I encourage you sing in tongues. Singing in tongues puts you into a place in the glory and in the presence of God and in the spirit of God. Deeper. Greater. sweeter than almost anything else does. Singing in tongues. Singing in tongues gets you into a deeper place, a sweeter place in the spirit than almost anything else. And by singing in tongues, you can actually get drunk. Literally drunk, but not on physical substance. but on the Holy Spirit himself, literally get drunk.
