Right before coming into the building to the station, I was listening to James Dobson, and he has a program. at 1230 every day, Monday through Friday, I believe it is, on 1220 KLDC, which is a sister station to KLTT. And it was just so interesting because James and his wife, Shirley, went to the same college that John and I did. And he talks about how his father gave up a four year. He had four four years worth of meetings in his denomination that he canceled. He canceled those four years that he was booked up for crusades and for revivals because his son, James, James Dobson, was rebellious. And all that James mother said is come home. And he did. He got on the first train, got to home, and he gave up his ministry to begin to discipline his son. And that’s what fathers do. They instruct and discipline their children. So when I married John, he said, oh, he was such a great man. He traveled with fathers. Prof. Dobson for those four years that they were Crusader Quartet and did all kinds of meetings on the West Coast. It was just so interesting to see that a man who achieved so much, and James Dobson was the psychologist for Larry King for all those years. He had top sellers in books, strong-willed children. You probably have a book in your library, maybe from James Dobson, how God blessed him so mightily. Here I am. Then right before this program, I was in my car in my Highlander and I was listening to David Jeremiah talking about all the times the enemy tried to kill the line. up to the birth of Jesus. And even then, after his birth, Herod killed all the babies in that area from two years and under. I mean, the enemy tried everything. Thank you so much, David Jeremiah. That is a great teaching. He tried to kill the line to the birth of Jesus. And I’m so grateful. I’m so grateful. The word is coming alive to me. And I want you to love the word of God like I love the word of God. And I hold it to my heart every day because that’s God speaking to me. And I want to just read a little scripture. I’m so grateful that God kept the lineage going. Even if there was only one person alive, the enemies killed off every child of the future king except Josiah. I don’t know all the scripture for that. But, oh, so interesting. If you can go to that scripture. Part of 12. Let’s see. It was on 670 KLTT at 1230. Great, great series. Wow. Praise the Lord. You. Oh, so I want to read. I’m getting my mind all. I want to read just a scripture from First Peter 224. And so many of us know this scripture. It talks about Jesus. And what a wonderful subject. I love talking about Father God and the Lord Jesus. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross. that we might die to sin hallelujah and live to righteousness for by his wounds you were healed call upon him he’s jehovah rafa he is your healer oh praise the lord you are blessed to dispense for in him you live and move and have your being and i want to announce that we just have we have um just not just we have a meeting on saturday june the 14th and um I hope you’re planning to be here. We’re going to have a good time gathering together, singing songs and studying the word of God, encouraging you more and more. That’s what I’m here for every day, Monday through Thursday, to encourage you, to help you to stand steadfast in this battle that’s going on in the physical world and also in the spiritual world. But we cast down every evil and vain imagination and every lofty thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. And we take every thought, every thought, my friend, every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ. So if you come on Saturday, come at 10 o’clock. We’re going to have a great time. It’s going to be hot. It’s going to be warm outside. It’s going to be hot inside, too. Hot with the absolute wonderful temperature of the Holy Spirit. And we’ll be eating on the patio. And I’m going to try to put together the tacos and the mixtures and all that. So come and enjoy a lunch on the patio. Call me at 1-877-917-7256. The scripture that I’m talking about this week is from 3 John. There are three books, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John. Oh, books of John are just remarkable. Oh, praise God, so anointed. And this one is 3 John 2. Beloved, I pray that in all aspects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. John is writing to a personal letter to his friend Gaius. And he says, when you extend hospitality to Christian brothers and sisters, even when they’re strangers, you make your faith visible. That means your faith becomes active, proactive. In the Passion Translation, 3 John 2 says, From the elder to my dearly beloved brother, Gaius, whom I truly love. Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health just as your soul is prospering. And that’s my wish for you today. Because when our bodies are hurting, when they’re in pain, when there is a diagnosis of a disease or something, guess what you’re focusing on? Yep. You’re focusing on that health issue in your life. But we don’t want to do that. We want to focus on Jesus Christ and him crucified. That’s what Paul said. That’s what he focused on every day. In 1 Corinthians 2, he says that. It’s all about Jesus and him crucified. John goes on to say, I was filled with joy and delight when the brothers arrived and informed me of your faithfulness to the truth. They told me how you live continually in the truth of Christ. That’s something that we need to really grow in, mature in. When you’re hearing the news or when you’re hearing anything else, you’re going to be hearing lies. And you need to have the spirit of discernment there. Because you’re going to sift through all the lies to get to the truth. And boy, I’ll tell you, they’re swirling all over the place. And I’m so grateful that we have the Bible as a standard of truth. I go to the Bible often during the day to seek out scriptures that come against some of the things that are going on. Even, God bless them, even with Christian brothers and sisters, not every teaching is truth. And I want you to know that. John goes on to say in 3 John 4, it is the greatest joy of my life to hear that my children are consistently living their lives in the ways of truth. And yesterday I read a passage of scripture that most of us like to read, and it’s from Joshua 1.8. Oh, we love scriptures on success, don’t we? And how we achieve success. How do we achieve success as believers? By studying and learning from the Bible. By doing what we’re learning and reading as much as we have knowledge of, as much as we have light. and allowing God to be with us on this journey. We will receive success in this life. And I’m learning that success does not come completely with a dollar sign. No. And most of us grow up, oh, I’ve got to have a good vocation. I’ve got to earn enough money. I’ve got to put some away in savings. We never did. And it’s wonderful to know that achieving success in God’s eyes is not the dollar sign because he’s the provider for us. So we should not be focused on making money. He’s the one that makes money for us. It’s the blessing and joy of knowing Jesus Christ and living for him. So what do we do to develop a love like Jesus has and mature in every way possible while we’re here on this earth? Well, we receive mercy and grace in our sinning. You said sinning, Barbara? Yes, because John said in the first chapter of First John that if you say you don’t sin, you’re a liar. So that presents kind of an issue here. Well, then why did we accept Jesus Christ? Well, we accept him. as we believe, that he is our Savior and Lord. And he’s going to help us when we hit those bumps, when we hit those sins, when we commit things that are against God’s word. He’s going to help us. His mercy and his grace is going to allow us to achieve and become mature in what we’re doing in this life. You know, he has this gentle way of of coming to us when we’ve sinned. Oh, I love that. When I’ve done something wrong, and most of us know when we do something wrong, we get all kinds of little tickles down the back and our hands get sweaty and, oh, Father God, I did that, I did that. And sometimes he says, I want you to go to that person that you offended. And other times he says, we’re just going to get through this, you and me. And in Romans 5, 7 through 8 says, We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for. And we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us. His love. And that’s even when we’re sinning, friend. Even when we’re sinning, God loves us. God put his love on the line for us by offering his son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatsoever. Whatever to him. use it’s like when you have a baby is your baby of any use to you when you have a baby or you know i’m talking to you even about when you’re training your dog or your well your cat can’t very well be trained but you’re going to spend a time a period that that that baby is going to learn to live among people and uh it’s quite it’s quite an achievement to get that done Oh, praise the Lord. So while we were of no use to God, he bore our sins in his body on the cross. Now, folks, that’s selfless and indescribable love. Joshua achieved such success after he succeeded to leadership when Moses went to be with God. Moses and those who followed after saw God’s presence in the Ark of the Covenant and in the cloud of glory that followed God’s people throughout the wilderness. And then when the temple was built, God revealed himself as Shekinah. S-H-E-K-I-N-A-H, Shekinah, glory, as the people praised and worshipped him. And boy, in some instances, the whole temple area was filled with his cloud of glory. Oh, it must have been profound. But God’s glory. Listen to this. God’s glory wasn’t in Moses or Elijah or in the spectacular light. I’m sure that some of you wish that God would again reveal himself in the Shekinah glory or in the cloud that followed the children of Israel. But God had a better idea. And his name is Jesus. God proclaims to us in Matthew 17, two through six, as Jesus was transfigured before Peter and James and John, the John who wrote first, second and third John. This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. God is saying to us today, are you listening? Here is my glory personified in Christ Jesus. Here I am in the flesh. I am that I am. Indeed, Jesus is the fulfillment of all God said he was to Moses. Gracious, merciful. long suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression of sins. And now the Lord is saying, here’s a living picture of my glory. It is all embodied in my son. In my son. Oh, if we learn to walk in love and make it the business of our lives, folks, we can solve many problems of human relationships, which we may have thought were impossible through love poured upon us through his mercy. Some of you think, oh, well, that relationship that was broken. Will that ever be resolved? Will that ever be mended? Will we ever bond again? And sometimes it doesn’t. Mm hmm. I have had relationships that I have had to walk away from and I never have talked to them again. And it’s OK because God’s watching out for them and he’s watching out for me as well. So I want you to know that there are some relationships that, yes, they can be mended and they do get mended. But there are others that won’t be. And there are seasons to every relationship. So if we could have our spirits developed in love like that, then we could live like the master. We could maintain a real beautiful fellowship with the father, with the word and with one another. And in John 14, I spoke of that yesterday. Jesus promised that he would send a comforter, Holy Spirit, to give you that love. He said, I will pray the father and he will give you another comforter that he may live with you forever. even the spirit of truth. Praise the Lord. So when Jesus and the love that he displayed on this earth, when he went away, he gave you another member of the Trinity full of love and truth. And that’s Holy Spirit who is with you right now. He is able to take the things of Jesus and the Father and unveil them to you. That is what your heart is craving, isn’t it? What is your heart craving today? It’s relationship. And that’s what he wants to give to you. Relationship with the creator of the universe. Oh, praise God. He’s not going to guide you into more sense knowledge, more touching, more hearing, more tasting, more smelling, more seeing. Tasting. You’ve had enough of that. You’ve had a lifetime of sense knowledge. That’s exhausting. Sense knowledge is exhausting. You get home at night if you’ve just lived for your senses. Eating and drinking and touching and seeing new clothes and new fashion. It’s exhausting. You’re tired. He is going to take those wonderful truths of Paul’s revelation and make them a reality to you. In order to do this, it will be necessary that you have quiet hours set aside for being alone with your teacher, Holy Spirit. are you too busy to do that oh i hope you’re not folks i just hope you’re not i want to talk about jesus for a little bit here he is such a wonderful person to talk about he is your joy he is my joy he’s he’s helping us to be wholly mature ephesians and we’re getting into ephesians in our bible Ephesians tells us about Jesus Christ and the church. And Jesus is to be our all in all, everything for everything. When you truly discover who he is, you’re going to trust him with all your heart. It’s a no-brainer. He’s given you everything he had, including his life. So what are you giving him? All he’s asking of you is believe who he is. That’s all he’s asking. No performance, no kind of achieving anything in this earthly realm. No, no accolades, no awards. Nope. Just believe in him. Ephesians 1, 3 through 12 says how blessed we are to know God and what a blessing he is. He’s the father of our master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. This is from the Message Translation, Ephesians 1. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us on his mind. He settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. To be made whole is W-H-O-L-E. That’s full and complete. And holy, that means we’re being led by him to achieve holiness in spirit. God poured everything into us of our Lord Jesus Christ. And long, long ago, he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. What pleasure he took in planning this. He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving work. by the hand of his beloved son because of the sacrifice of the messiah his blood poured out on the altar of the cross and we are a free people it was for freedom yes free of penalties and punishments chalked up by our sins our misdeeds his mercy and grace take care of all of our sins folks When you realize that you’ve sinned, all you have to do is say, I’m so sorry, Father God, forgive me. It’s done. Okay. All right. You have acknowledged it. You have acknowledged you’re wrong. And I love you so much. My mercy and grace is covering that. He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ Jesus, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in Jesus. Everything in the deepest heaven, everything on planet earth. It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we’re living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, on you and on me, had designs on us for glorious living. Part of the overall purpose, he is working out in everything and everyone. So who do I go to for a song, a beautiful song, wonderful counselor, mighty God? I go to Terry McCallman. Here he is.

You’re so good to us. Peter talks about in 1 Peter 2.21, what a transformation that man went through. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering. Just as Christ suffered for you, he is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned nor ever deceived anyone. His conduct was perfect in every way. He did not retaliate when he was insulted nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in God’s hands, who always judges fairly. Remember that. god judges fairly he personally carried our sins in his body on the cross that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right by his wounds you were healed my friend you were healed receive it today once you were like sheep who wandered away but now you have turned to your shepherd the guardian of your souls, our Lord Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords. Oh, God bless you and keep you. Kimberly will be on the air with me tomorrow. Always enjoy hearing from her. She’s got some wonderful stories to tell about how God has blessed the family and blessed her husband, Matthew. Oh, what a blessing. to know that we can achieve success even in this earthly realm. Remember the meeting on Saturday, 1-877-917-7256. God bless you and take joy.
