SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victoria’s Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning I want to continue sharing with you some of the adventures I had on the mission field. And like I said yesterday, for 12 years I traveled to 19 countries going city to city and country to country. I’ve been in the South Pacific and Mid-Pacific Islands. I’ve been in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Nepal, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria. I’ve gone places by jumbo jets and by small airplanes. I’ve gone by ship and by ferry and by small boat. I’ve gone by train at 13 hour train ride across India. by jeepney and by auto rickshaw, by pickup truck and by motorcycle and tricycle, tricycle, both pedaled tricycles and motor tricycles, and even walking by foot. And like I said yesterday, when I say by pickup, yes, once in a while I would sit in the cab of the truck. But what you probably don’t know is that in other countries, many times and in many places, a pickup truck is public transportation. So when I say pickup truck, it’s riding in the back of the pickup truck, not in the cab. And it’s crowded with people and in the open air, in the sun, in the rain, many times for an hour ride, standing beside the road. to even catch a ride watching one pickup truck pass and it’s already full. And you wait another hour to find another pickup truck pass and it’s full. You wait again another half hour and then another pickup truck comes by and there’s room in the back and you climb in the back and ride for an hour in the sun or rain, either one, to the city. And so that’s what I mean by pickup truck. It’s riding in the back of the truck in the open with other people you don’t know. It is public transportation. And so I’ve gone in all these different ways, teaching in Bible schools, pastors’ conferences, church conferences, women’s conferences, youth conferences, and in church services, etc. And the Lord was so very faithful as I went by faith, traveling alone as a single woman. And I say, even though I traveled alone in the natural, I traveled with the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and a host of angels. And their help was constant and great. And again today, I want to share with you some more experiences about protection and deliverance. There was another time in 2001, the first place that I went to on the mission field was to Vanuatu. And that is the South Pacific Island nation, north of New Zealand and northeast of Australia, but west of Fiji. And that nation used to be called New Hebrides during World War II. So you might recognize that name, New Hebrides. And so I was there in 2001. It was the first place that I went to on the mission field. And sometime I’ll tell you more about that. But I was teaching in a Bible school on a small island. next to a larger island where I would stay on the weekends, but I would stay at the Bible school Monday through Friday. And at the Bible school, there was no electricity and no running water. And one day, it was a Thursday, I woke up getting a leading and an unction in my spirit from the Holy Spirit that we needed to leave on Thursday to go back to the big island because we would usually leave Friday after class. Well, I told the one in charge there, he was the vice principal, and he did not think it was logical or reasonable that we should cancel that day’s classes and the next day’s classes to go back. So he said, no, let’s stay till tomorrow. Well, the next day we got up and a hurricane had already started to pass by. And it was not directly over us, but it was on the other side of the islands. And it was out on the western side of the island nation. But we were getting the rains and we were getting the winds and the big waves. And so we got up early to go back to the big island, but it was raining hard. The wind was blowing strong. And so this vice principal did not feel he could take the boat back to the other island. And he suggested that we should walk across the island to a place where it’s just across the channel from. from the big island and there’s a family there that had a boat. We could ask them to take us across the channel. And so we left early. We walked for 45 minutes in the rain across the island and then reached that other side of the island where there was a family and they had a boat and it was just a channel there across to the other island. And so we were all ready to go. We got in the boat, started across the sea. The waves were strong so that at first the boat was tipping and rocking back and forth pretty heavily, but not bad. And it reminded me of the disciples on the Sea of Galilee. I never had any fear at that point either, but rather I was enjoying the adventure at the moment and the rocking boat on the waves. But suddenly, as we got out in the middle of the channel, the waves got real big and I knew suddenly we were in danger. And there was another woman just gripping my arm, sitting next to me. The waves were getting higher and higher. And suddenly I saw a big white crested wave come towering toward us. As we were then getting picked up and pushed sideways by the wave in our small boat, we came dangerously close to capsizing and turning over in the waves. And the waves splashing into our boat and capsizing the boat. Suddenly without thinking up out of my spirit, a command came and I shouted in the name of Jesus. I take authority over you. I don’t even remember what words I use because it did not come out of my mind. It came out of my spirit, but I commanded those waves to be still and And immediately, as suddenly as those big waves came, they stopped immediately. Those waves stopped and immediately the waves were small again, just to rock the boat slightly. And on the smaller waves, just rocking the boat gently. We rode the rest of the way across the channel to the shoreline and having to correct our direction again. Since the big waves had carried us way off course up the channel. So I praise God for that supernatural protection and deliverance. But we need to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit. And we have to know our spiritual authority. We have to know our spiritual authority. And when we reached the other side, then we waited for an hour, finally getting transportation to town. And those winds and rains continued for three days. As the pastor said, this is a cyclone. So God will protect us. Let me share one more story with you. In 2011, again, I was up in the northeast Himalayan mountain regions of India in West Bengal, driving to Sikkim. And as we drove from the airport, actually three hours to Kursiang, a small mountain village, and the road was very rough. And we were having a three-day meeting in Kursiang. And And the people were excited to receive the word of God. But while I was in Curseong, this is in 2011, on Sunday, September 18, 2011, there was a 6.9 magnitude earthquake in the Himalayas. And it was only 60 miles north of where I was. The 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook the Himalayan mountains. And it lasted about 30 to 40 seconds. It was felt all across northern India. It was felt all the way to Delhi. It was felt all the way to Kathmandu, Nepal, where a wall collapsed in the British embassy in Kathmandu. Also, it was felt to Bhutan. It was felt all the way into Tibet and Mount Kanchenjunga, the third tallest mountain in the world, where I had a privilege of being very near and seeing it on the border of Nepal and India. The third tallest mountain in the world was shifted southward by this earthquake. Well, the earthquake was also followed again by two smaller earthquakes in the next hour. And in the Himalayas, the houses are not built with the engineering to withstand earthquakes. As a matter of fact, they’re built on the side of mountains, many times just a concrete wall, sometimes built on stilts. on the side of the mountain. Roads would be blocked by mudslides and houses collapsed. Especially near the epicenter. Well, the earthquake came as I was sitting in my room in the house. And this house also was not built strong. Literally, as I sat there, the whole house shook back and forth. It rocked back and forth, back and forth. And when I recognized it was an earthquake, I immediately started speaking and commanding in faith. And the wonderful thing is, though, that the night before the Lord had given me a scripture promise in Deuteronomy 33, 12, Deuteronomy 33, 12 says, let the beloved of the Lord rest in peace. secure in him for he shields him all day long and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders. That was the promise God had given me the night before this earthquake. And of course there was no harm come to any of us. Praise the Lord. So I give God praise and glory and thanks for his blood, for his angels, for his word, for his promises, for his divine protection over our lives. And I just pray over you today. You are covered in the blood of Jesus today. The angels surround you. They go before you and behind you in Jesus name to guard you on your way. No harm will come near you in the name of Jesus.
