Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I’ve been sharing with you in the last several broadcasts that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called Jehovah Tobe, Jehovah the Good. And this is in a series of messages called Who Do You Say That I Am? In which we are studying the names of God, which reveal the nature and character of God. So join me now in our live service for part seven of this message, Jehovah Tobe, Jehovah the Good. That’s where people who say God won’t give you your desires, they’re completely wrong because he wants to satisfy you and your desires with good things. Psalm 107, 9, for he satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Praise the Lord. Jeremiah 31, 14, I will satisfy the priests with abundance and my people will be filled with my bounty. The King James Version there actually says, my people will be filled with my goodness, declares the Lord. Good is a God word. It is one of his favorite words because it describes what he is. what’s in him and inside of him it describes his will his plans his purposes it describes what he likes and it describes what he does perfectly hallelujah then there are several promises about the good land i’m just going to read these real quickly exodus 3 8 God said to Moses, I have come down to rescue them, the Israelites, from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey. Well, you know, we have a similar scripture in Colossians. He has translated us out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of his dear son, his light. So we also have been brought out of darkness into light, out of slavery, into into a good and spacious land of blessing. Praise God. Deuteronomy 6, 10 through 12. When the Lord your God brings you into the land, he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you a land with large flourishing cities you did not build. Houses filled with all kinds of good things. Good things, things, things. There’s stuff, good stuff, you did not provide. Wells you did not dig. Vineyards and olive groves you did not plant. Then you will eat and be satisfied. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord who brought you out of Egypt, who brought you out of slavery, who brought you out of the kingdom of darkness, out of the land of slavery. And again, Deuteronomy 8, 7 through 11. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with streams and pools of water. with springs flowing in the valleys and hills, a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey, a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing. a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills, when you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land. That’s something we’re supposed to do. Praise him for the good land. If you live in a good land, if you have a good life, a good home, a good family, good job, praise him for the good land, the good things he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, your God, failing to observe his commands. And then Deuteronomy 28, 11. This is in the blessings. And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods. Goods, things, stuff, material possessions. It means material things. God blessed them and blesses us with goods, not bad. That means that things are not bad. Only if you put your heart on them and put them between you and God are they a stumbling block. But God wants to bless you with good things. Just don’t let those things consume your life, your attention, your devotion. Keep God first and center in your heart and life, time, and money. Material things are beneficial. Good people can do good things with a lot of goods. Good people enjoy blessing other people. Good people enjoy making other people happy. God is good and he enjoys blessing people and making people happy. Don’t you like to bless your kids and make your kids happy? Don’t you like to bless your spouse and make your spouse happy? Yes. Then Nehemiah 9.25, another one, they captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things. Wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full, were well nourished, and they reveled in your great goodness. You see, God wants us to experience his great goodness even in good things, the good land, and have plenty of goods. He wants us to have that. Just keep God first and center in our heart, our time, and our money. And let the good things be a blessing to us, but not consume us. And then we bless others with good things as well. Romans 2, 4. You see, why does God want to give you good things? Well, one thing is he wants to bless you. Another reason is because he wants your life to be a testimony. People to look at you and see how blessed you are. I’ve shared this before about Abraham and the mark of the covenant. God told Abraham to be circumcised, to circumcise his sons and all those in his house. And we talked about cutting a covenant. And in the old, I don’t know if anybody does it today, but in times past, they would cut their hand, their wrist, a cut that would draw blood. Why did God choose circumcision? Nobody would see it. They wouldn’t walk around and say, oh, you got a covenant. I mean, they wouldn’t see it. Why? Because God intended the blessing to be the witness. the goods, the wealth. God made Abraham rich. God blessed him. And the blessing on him was what was visible. Wow, where did you get all that? How did you get so blessed? My God. And so God has chosen the blessing in our lives to be the witness and testimony to sinners to draw them that they should want. Our good God, who does good things, who heals us, who protects us, delivers us, keeps our families safe, and blesses us with good material things. I mean, that’s what the world wants. Well, if we have them, then we can provoke them to jealousy or to desire what we have. Then we can tell them, our good God blesses us. And that is what God intended and desired to be the witness to the lost. And it’s proven in Romans 2, 4. The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance or draws you to God, draws you to repent and receive him as your Lord and Savior. The goodness of God. God wants to be so good to us and even to heal other people and bless them. But they have to know that it’s him doing it. so that they are drawn to him. It’s not badness that draws people to God. It’s not God’s anger or even the lie that God will make you sick to teach you a lesson. That doesn’t draw anybody to God. They turn away from God when they hear that. But if you say God will heal you and bless you and restore your family, then it will draw people to God. We must let God be good to us, on us, in us, and through us until it overflows our lives and people see it. The goodness of God leads people to repentance. They see that he’s real. They see he is good and that he is desirable. He should be desired. The goodness of God in our lives is a witness to others. So we need to allow his goodness to flourish in our lives to be a witness. a light to the lost. Praise the Lord. The goodness of God leads people to him, to God. Praise God. What are we supposed to do for the goodness? Praise him. Rejoice. Celebrate. Psalm 107, 8. Oh, that men would praise the Lord for his goodness and for his wonderful works to the children of men. 2 Chronicles 6.41. Now arise, O Lord, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, O Lord, be clothed with salvation. And here it is. May your saints rejoice in your goodness. We should praise him for his goodness, rejoice in his goodness. And one of the scriptures that we read earlier, Nehemiah, revel in his goodness. proclaim his goodness, etc. We should praise him for his goodness. We should thank him for his goodness in our lives all the time. Last of all, we need to use faith to receive Jehovah Tob, Jehovah God, the good. Because Christians who believe that God does bad things, he’ll put sickness on you. He’ll let your loved ones get killed in an accident. You never know what God’s going to do. Might make you sick or kill you. Well, they’re not receiving his goodness. And there are Christians who don’t even have hope for the future for good things. They just expect one bad thing after another. There are pessimistic Christians. Just expect one bad thing after another, after another. Well, we have to use our faith just like receiving him as savior, just like receiving him as healer, just like receiving him as our provider, as our deliverer. We also have to receive his goodness and his good nature. By faith. Believe it. Confess it. Every day. Psalm 23, 6. Well, you know Psalm 23. Let’s just say the whole psalm. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, that’s earth, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. Surely, Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Surely, do you believe that word? Surely, goodness will follow you.
