SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victoria’s Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to begin sharing with you another message that I preached in one of our Victoria’s Faith services in the Who Do You Say That I Am series. And this is Who Do You Say That I Am, My Healer. So join me now in our live service for the beginning of this message. Who Do You Say That I Am, My Healer. I’m going to begin a series called, Who Do You Say That I Am? I’ve been getting really excited about the names of God and the character of God and the ways of God and the works of God and it really just becomes a big series and and so said we would make it a healing service. So we’re going to focus on healing, but also introduce the subject in also a general way as well. But who do you say that I am? It is very important. Matthew 16, 13 to 16, and I’ll read it to you. When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, Who do people say the Son of Man is? They replied, Some say John the Baptist. Others say Elijah. Still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. But what about you, he asked? Who do you say I am? That’s the question. Who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered, you are the Christ, the anointed one that is, the son of the living God. Next one, God will be to you. who you say he is. You receive from him what you have faith in him to receive. You know, a lot of people today don’t believe in Jesus at all. Some acknowledge that he was a historical figure, but that’s all. Well, guess what? Then to them, that’s all he’ll be. If that’s all they believe, he’s just a historical figure. To them, that’s all they’re ever going to receive. which is nothing. A historical figure, some time past, just like Julius Caesar or anyone else in history, Ivan the Terrible or anybody else. And so they get nothing from it. Some believe that, well, he was a prophet, but of course, being that it was 2,000 years ago, they’re still not receiving anything from him today. But there are some people who call him Lord. And guess what? If you believe and say he’s Lord, then to you… He is Lord. If you believe and say that he is the son of God, then to you, he is. He is the son of God. He is the son of God, whether people acknowledge it or not. And there is coming a judgment day in the end when he will be the son of God and he will be God to everybody. But that time isn’t yet. Right now, everybody has a free choice. So at this time, he’s only what you say to you. He is only to you what you say he is to you. I wanted to remind you of Romans chapter 10. If you have your phone or your Bible, you can flip to it. And how many of you have your Bible? Raise your hand. You know, we are Bible toters. We are not just phone carriers. Right? In this church, we are Bible toters. I like it. Let me see. How many Bibles do I see in this place? We are Bible toters. Yeah. Yeah. Bible thumpers. So we’re not just phone thumpers. But we are Bible-toters, and I’m so glad that you are because when you have a phone and you pull it up, you can’t underline, you can’t highlight, you can’t scribble a little note beside it of what that Greek word means or a cross-reference that connects it to another scripture. You can’t do that with a phone Bible. So you’ve got to have the real hard… physical object in your hand. I love my Bible. We used to say that in children’s church, but I still love my Bible. Amen. So Romans chapter 10 verses eight through 10, but what does it say? The word is near you. It is in your mouth and in your what? heart. That is the word of faith. We are proclaiming that if you confess with your, what your mouth, what Jesus is Lord, say it again, say it again. Amen. So if you say Jesus is Lord, then what will he be? He’ll be Lord. Yes. And believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. You will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified. And it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Verse 13 says, for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. So I’m showing you here that you receive God. according to what you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth. And it’s the same way. It says, for with your heart you believe and with your mouth you confess and are saved. With your mouth you confess and are healed. With your mouth you confess and are delivered. With your mouth you confess and receive wisdom from God and answers to your problems. Because you believe God is the answerer. He is the deliverer. He is the healer. He is the wisdom. He is the one giving you everything that you need. We make that point in our offering really strong. Everything we are and everything we have comes from him. So where should you look when you need something? To him. And when you do, if you believe it in your heart and say it with your mouth, you will receive it. And we know Mark 11, 24 says, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. Hallelujah. And I’ve given you this definition of receive before, the Greek word. As a matter of fact, Christine, come here and help me for a moment. Let me give you my example. And you’re going to help me with this. And I’ve given you this example before of what it means to receive. In the Greek… Now, let me say it back like this. First, in English… Receive is a very passive or inactive word. Receive in English means something like, dump it on me. Go ahead, dump it on me. But that’s not what it means in the Greek. Actually, this is English. I’m going to receive the Bible. Who is active? Me or Christine? Christine. Christine was active. Who was inactive? Passive. Me. In case we missed this little kindergarten lesson, let’s do it again. All right. This is receive in English. I’m receiving the Bible. Who acted… She did. Who was inactive or passive? Me. I did nothing. I basically said, dump it on me. She did all the work. She moved. She put it in my hands. That’s English, receive. It’s not Greek, receive. Because in the Greek, the literal actually means the word, it’s the Greek word lambano, and it actually means what in English is take. And this is what it means in Greek. Let me read you the definition. In the Greek dictionary, that word receive, and this is the word receive all the way through the New Testament. Every time you see the word receive, I receive this. Receive it by faith. Whatever you ask for prayer, I believe you have received it. This is the Greek word receive. To take. To take with the hand. to lay hold of, to take to oneself, to make one’s own, to claim, procure, to seize, take possession of, reach after, and of that which when taken is not let go. So you see the activeness of that word, to take, take possession of, seize, procure for oneself, reach after, claim. So this is the Greek word receive. In English, it’s our English word take. Thank you for my Bible, Christine. You may be seated. So, the Greek word is the English word take. It’s the active, aggressive word, not the passive, inactive word. And do you realize and you know, most Christians, after they get saved, they know that they have to receive or take Jesus as their Lord and Savior first. They know they have to say, Jesus, come into my heart and be my Savior. But after that, do you realize most Christians are then waiting for God to do the rest? And they’re saying, dump it on me, God. Just dump it on me. I’m waiting for my healing, and I’m waiting for my deliverance, and I’m waiting for my answers. And they are doing the inactive instead of the aggressive. And so we must learn to do the aggressive. And how do you do it? By believing in your heart and saying with your mouth, continually, without change, without wavering. without change, without wavering, you take it. And so we know the scriptures, for example, by stripes I’m healed. So to take a healing, and we know that Jesus already paid for it. So I’m speaking to a group where we’ve already covered these things before, but as a quick review of The first question people ask is, well, you can’t receive from God something that isn’t his will. Well, that’s true. But your problem is, is you need to find out what his will is. Find out and then take what’s his will. And we have in the Bible recorded what his will is. Most Christians act like it’s a mystery. I wonder what could God’s will be? Should I be healed or not? read. It’s all in there. His will is from cover to cover. And let me show you a few scriptures. All right. The will of God is the word of God. The word of God is the will of God. So regarding healing, since we are looking specifically at healing, let me give you proof number one or evidence number one or source number one for his will. One of the names of God is Jehovah Rapha in Exodus 15, 26. Exodus 15, 26. God said, I am the Lord who heals you. That’s the English translation of I am Jehovah Rapha or Rapha. And so his name, I am the Lord who heals you. And actually, do you know in the Hebrew, that also means your physician. Another definition is I’m your healer. I am your physician. What you just heard was the beginning of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called, Who do you say that I am? My healer. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
