Good morning. Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I shared with you all of last week that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called Living in Perfect Peace. I believe this message is timely and I believe it’s blessing you. Now join me in our live service for part six of this message, living in perfect peace. And Philippians 4, 6 through 8, do not be anxious about anything. That is a command many Christians don’t obey. They don’t even believe it’s a command. They ignore it. They are anxious continually, but God said, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, passes all understanding will guard your hearts and your mind, your heart and mind need to be guarded with his peace and in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. If you don’t think on these things, you will lose your peace. And people say, but I can’t help it. Yes, you can. Your mind is your mind. I talked this week about the devil’s little devils. I think of them like little imps sitting on the shoulder, little tiny things. They sit on your shoulder right up next to your ear. But they’re shooting thoughts like arrows. Remember Ephesians six, we put up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery arrows. Those arrows are largely the thoughts. Of course, they can also be physical attacks or financial attacks. But they are the thoughts he shoots in your mind. That little demon, that little imp is sitting there. You’re not going to make it. You’re going to die. You’re going to fail. You’re going to go under. You’re not going to have the money. You won’t be able to pay this off. They don’t like you. They’re going to turn you away. You’re going to go under. I mean, all these doubts. You’re going to die. You’re going to die. They’re going to shoot these thoughts of doubt and fear in your mind. You have to recognize them and cast them down. And I’m getting ahead of myself because I’m going to talk about that as our part a little bit more in a moment. But Jesus is our example. Jesus had perfect peace in the midst of the storm on the Sea of Galilee in Luke 8. He had perfect peace when the people tried to throw him over the cliff and kill him. He just walked right through the crowd in Luke 4. Jesus stayed calm and untroubled when he took control over demons. We see that in Luke 8 also. And this is extraordinary. He was untroubled. totally at peace when he stood before Pilate and was being questioned. And he could have denied, he could have delivered himself, but he didn’t. He was at peace, untroubled. He stayed in perfect peace because he is the Prince of Peace. How do you enter into his peace and into rest? Well, doing what we’ve already said before, By meditating on the word of God, Joshua 1.8, do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Meditate on it day and night. Some people say, but how can I do that? I can’t do that. Yes, you can. Are you able to worry day and night? Most people do. They know how to anyway. They worry day and night. What does that mean to worry day and night? Your mind keeps going back to it again and again. You might move your thought onto something else for a moment, but right in the midst of it, your worry thought comes back again. And you wake up in the night thinking about you lay awake, not able to sleep, worried. They worry day and night. Well, meditate on the word is simply by choice, actively, intentionally, decisively putting out the thought of worry intentionally and pulling in the thought of God’s promise. You have to choose. Your mind is your mind. I started to say this earlier. The devil cannot control you until he gets total demon possession. Most people are not demon possessed. You have control over your mind and your body. So don’t say I can’t help it because you can as long as you have control of your functions. If you can turn your thought away from worry for a moment, you can control your mind. I mean, you haven’t been taken over by the devil totally. That you’re out of your mind crazy. A lunatic. Only once you’re a lunatic, you might say that you need somebody else to help you. But as long as you’ve not yet reached the point of being a lunatic… losing total control of your mind, then you’re still in control of your mind and you choose your thoughts. And so your mind is your mind. Everybody say, my mind is my mind. I choose my thoughts. I refuse to think thoughts of fear and worry. And negative things. I choose. To think the thoughts. Of God. God’s promises. To help me. Preserve me. Deliver me. And give me the victory. God’s promises. Of blessing. I choose. His thoughts. Instead of the devil’s thoughts. You see the devil is there. Shooting those arrows in your mind. And. But God’s word is laying on in his Bible and in the Holy Spirit in you. He’s trying to bring it up to your mind. He’ll try to bring a scripture to your remembrance unless you block him and shut it down. Most people are allowing the devil’s thoughts and they’re ignoring God’s thoughts. You just have to choose. It’s an act of your will. Intentionally, decisively. Say, devil, shut up, I’m not listening to you. Holy Spirit, I’m listening to you. Speak louder. And I choose… And then when he gives you scriptures… Choose to think on those scriptures, memorize them, read them over and over, repeat them in your mind over and over and over. Every time the worry tries to come in, you fight against it. I talked to this week. It’s about the war, the battlefield of the mind. battle those thoughts with the word of God. Every time a worried thought comes, you shoot it down with the word of God. Every time the worry thought, the fearful thought, the anxious thought, the negative thought comes in your mind that recognize it’s the devil. It’s the little imps. Shooting those arrows in your mind. You have to cast them down, which I’m going to get to in just a moment. And you replace them with the word of God. Think on these things. It’s a command. This is what you choose to think. I think God is my helper. God is my savior. God is my deliverer. He will never fail me. I will not fear. And then the scriptures of his healing, of his provision, his protection, his deliverance. Take the scriptures that he leads you to and use them as war against the negative thoughts. Fight those thoughts. In Romans chapter 8, I don’t have it here, but I need to bring it up. It’s important. Romans 8, 6 says, The mind of the sinful man, or you can say the carnal mind, is death. Romans 8, 6. These are the thoughts of the devil. Carnal thoughts, fearful thoughts, anxious thoughts, negative thoughts. The mind of sinful man, also in other places here, sinful nature. You can also relate that to the carnal nature and the carnal man. The mind of the carnal man is death, but the mind controlled by the spirit, that means you yield to the control of the spirit or you think the thoughts of the spirit that he gives you is life and peace. Life and peace. You can have your mind filled with life and peace if you yield to the Holy Spirit instead of yielding to the devil. Most people are so used to yielding to the devil because it’s easy. It’s easy to let fear take over. It’s easy to let worry take over. You’ve got to fight a battle to cast down the fear and the worry and the anxiety and the negative thoughts. You have to fight a battle. But the Holy Spirit is in you to do that. He brings up to your mind thoughts of his word, his promises, his scriptures. And if you will think those, the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. You will have life and peace if you think his thoughts. But if you think the devil’s thoughts, you get death. The ultimate end, because what you think is what you say. Proverbs says the power of life and death is in the tongue. So if you think it, you’re going to say it. And when you say it, you create it. Life and death is in the power of the tongue, but it starts in the thought. And the thoughts of fear are death. You’ve got to cast them down. The negative thoughts are death. You’ve got to cast them down. You’ve got to replace them by yielding to the Holy Spirit. Think the thoughts of the Holy Spirit, which he gives you the word of God. He gives you scriptures. You think on those. You meditate on those. Those can make your mind whole. And give you life and peace. They can heal your physical body. Yes. Definitely. They will drive sickness and disease out of you. The word of God will drive sickness out of your body. It will cure every disease. And guess what? It can even make you smarter. Meditating on promises. I remember Kenneth Hagin. I think it was, and he testified of other people, but I believe it happened to him. I think also brother Copeland that they weren’t so smart in school until they started meditating God’s word. They started meditating on it and confessing it and believing it. And brother Hagen went back to high school for a short time. He was smarter. getting better grades in school after he started meditating on God’s word. Brother Copeland, he was going back to college and boy was he struggling until he meditated on God’s word and it brought a sharpness to his mind. So it can even increase your intelligence. Meditating on the scriptures can increase your natural intelligence because it sharpens your mind. It gives life, life and peace. to your mind. So if you’re having a problem with your mind, you know, you have no reason to lose your mind, lose your memory, become dull or get dementia or Alzheimer’s as you age. If you will cast down fear, worry, anxiety, and negative thoughts.
