My show, Rush to Reason, Bob Duco, Detroit, Michigan, with the Bob Duco Show, and Neil Boron, who is not with us today, Buffalo, New York, Neil Boron Live. But, Bob, good morning. Good morning. How are you today? I am great. And another, man, it seems like we just do like, for everybody listening, most people know we record on Wednesday mornings, but Bob, it seems like we do Wednesday to Wednesday to Wednesday. And that’s just kind of how my weeks go. I don’t know about you, but it just seems like it’s one week after another.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know what? It’s kind of weird how that calendar works. Seven days later, it’s like it’s another week. Amazing. It seems like it was yesterday. Yeah. I know. Actually, it does seem like it. It seems like, okay, we’re only doing the podcast once a week. We only record it once a week, and it seems like it’s more often than once a week. It does. What are you going to do? It does. Nothing really happening in the news, though, so it’s kind of stretching finding something to talk about.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, never anything to talk about. Trump, of course, most of you, and I mentioned this on my program yesterday, I’m sure you did as well, the hold on the – the bombing, the battle, I guess you could say, putting a 48-hour stay on that for a little bit to see if they can get some other conversation in. And I still, Bob, and this is something you and I can talk about, I still look at that. And for those that say, you know, Trump is just a warmonger and so on, I mean, some of these things that he’s doing along these lines should show people, Bob, that no, he is not that way. It’s very strategic for all the folks that are out the right and left that say he doesn’t have any strategy and what are we doing? He has no idea how to exit. You know, nothing, in my opinion, could be farther for the truth. He does have strategy. And I believe, and we talked about this, I know even some last week, I’m one that feels that he does not want to bomb their power plants. He doesn’t want to bomb their bridges and such. I mean, the infrastructure that’s there, you know, we would be then going back in and trying to help rebuild a lot of that. Not only that and the cost that we would incur, but then you look at just the people and the effect that that has on the people that are there. I mean, at the end of the day, that is probably the last thing that he ever wants to do. And he’s hoping that somebody there. And here’s the problem. He’s even said it. No one knows who’s in charge, Bob. You’ve talked about that even in some of your commentary. The biggest issue is there’s no one in charge. So for those people out there saying, well, there is a deal. Well, no, there is no deal. Well, we don’t know if there’s a deal. You know, all of those could be right because you don’t know who you’re talking to, Bob.
SPEAKER 02 :
Exactly. Well, and first of all, let me say something about the bombing of the power plants and the infrastructure. Yeah, I’ve talked about this a lot on my show here because one of the things that Trump will never, ever get credit for from the Trump derangement syndrome people is the humanitarian way that he’s looking at Iran here. Because for Trump to take out the power plants and to take out the roads, the infrastructure, the bridges and such, This would have a devastating effect on the lives of 90 million civilians in Iran. Trump doesn’t want to leave them without electricity. He doesn’t want to leave them without heat. He doesn’t want to leave them without the means of travel because that would be like ending the civilization, if you will, for them. And so he’s trying to avoid that. Not even bombing him. I know. So he’s trying to avoid leveling that degree of pain on the individual civilians and people of Iran. And he’s getting zero credit for that. What happens? Democrats instead call him taco. See, Trump always chickens out. It’s like you’ve You’ve got to be kidding me. So if he does this, the left will demonize him for destroying the lives of individual civilians in Iran. And when he doesn’t do this, they call him a taco. It doesn’t really matter what he does. They’re going to demonize him anyway. I agree with you. They got a strategy, but… Part of this is figuring out who is actually really in charge. And unfortunately, the diplomats in Iran, this would be the president, the foreign minister, the political leaders in Iran, yes, they are the ones that are working with the Trump administration and willing to agree to a peace deal. But they don’t have control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is in essence the military of Iran. Right. They’re operating on their own. They’re saying, no, we want to fight to the last drop and we don’t care. And so they’re the radical extremists right now. And they’re not taking orders from the diplomats. There’s even reports that the president of Iran is being denied access to the injured son of the Ayatollah, who’s now the quote unquote supreme leader. So we’ve got to figure out who fills the vacuum and who’s going to be able to control the military at this point.
SPEAKER 03 :
Agreed. And the other thing I think they’re doing in regards to the power plants, Bob, and I’ve talked about this on my program, is in how, I mean, this is way above my pay grade. I’m definitely not an engineer in power grids and things like that, but I guarantee you they’re all sitting down trying to figure out, okay, if it comes to us having to actually take out energy. you know, a power plant and a bridge, which ones can we do having impact on them, but the lowest impact on the people. And I know that’s that, you know, maybe that can be done. Maybe it can’t be done. Maybe I’m talking out of the side of my mouth. I really don’t know. But at the end of the day, I do believe that, that the administration is looking at that so that if in fact it comes to that and we do have to go down that particular path, I guarantee you because of the humanitarian side of things you just talked about a moment ago, Bob, that the Trump administration is looking at it that way saying, okay, what gives us the best bang for the buck without killing off all the power to the people that need it the most? Exactly.
SPEAKER 02 :
Exactly. And, you know, and here’s the thing, John, this is where, once again, the TDS people out there will never, ever, ever acknowledge anything positive about Trump. There’s not a chance in the world that Trump and his people aren’t thinking about the very same thing, that it takes a couple of talk show hosts to figure out stuff like that. Right. Of course Trump is saying, look, is there a way that we can do some strategically targeted power plants that disproportionately control power to the leadership, to the military, to people like that, so that we can minimize the amount of civilian power loss? Of course they’re looking at stuff like that. Because, you know, I don’t think the radical Shiite Muslim leaders there in Iran that are saying let’s fight to the last drop, I don’t think they care about their own civilians having their lives turned upside down. They really don’t.
SPEAKER 03 :

The straight we’re still holding on to as well, Bob. That’s the other thing that Trump said. And it’s always interesting, too. And this is stuff where folks, you know, please be be really leery of some of the things that you read, because one of the headlines today is Iran seizes two ships after Trump extends ceasefire. Well. there’s really not much proof that they actually have done that. In fact, there’s more proof that, well, yeah, they fired upon a couple of ships, and yeah, they didn’t really even cause any damage. I mean, the reality is, Bob, you can’t trust anything they say because they continually lie all the time.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, here’s what we got to remember, too. And I bashed the left-wing media a lot and the Democrats a lot. And I would argue for good reason. Stop and think about something here. We’re trying to bring an end to this war. What’s going to bring an end to this war is when the military of Iran, when they agree to peace negotiations as well, when they agree to ceasefires and they agree to opening up the Strait of Hormuz. However… Do you know what’s fueling their resistance engine? They can see the headlines from the United States. They can see the mainstream media liberals constantly picking apart everything that Trump does and every single potential advance or advantage that Iran seems to have. That gets trumpeted. It’s like, hey, Iran is doing it. Iran is successful in this effort to thwart this. It’s almost as though the mainstream press is dragging on this Iran war and the Democrats are dragging it on too because when Iran sees us so split and divided and sees the American media basically saying Iran is winning this thing and Trump is losing this thing, of course that’s going to give them the motivation to fight yet another day.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s exactly right. I don’t know that I’ve mentioned that on my program. I’m going to steal that from you. Very good point. They actually look at that and it is just, it fuels their fire that they’ve already got. And to your point earlier, you’ve got to realize this for everybody listening, the folks that are doing the fighting, These are people that, as you know, Bob, they don’t have one. We just talked about pre-born a moment ago, life and how much we value that. They don’t, Bob. They don’t value life at all. It’s why they recruit, you know, 10, 11 year old boys to go do their bidding. I mean, at the end of the day, they don’t care. And they launch cluster bombs. That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s people who don’t care about killing women and children.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. And I can’t stress that enough. And those that are because, again, I know there’s folks in our audience, probably some even on the left where they’re, you know, against the war effort and they don’t like what’s going on and they don’t like what we’re doing. They don’t think Trump knows what he’s doing and so on. And they do it in such a way where you’d almost think, Bob, that they’re on the other side. And by the way, some of these people are the Tucker Carlson’s and Candace Owens of the world as well. I’ve got there yet. We’ll get there at some point. in the program today. But the reality is these people do nothing to your point, but give the other side fodder.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s right. That’s right. And that’s all they are doing. They’re fueling and motive. Okay. I’ll tell you what, think of it this way. You don’t need a degree in human psychology to figure this out. Okay. If you get two boxers in a ring and one guy is being beaten up and he’s on the verge of giving up, uh, What’s his corner saying to him? It’s all right. Just hang on. He’s tiring. He’s weakening. OK, you can last this out. Don’t give up. Crowd cheers him on. You know what that does? It buys another ring out of it, buys another round out of the guy. That’s what it does. That’s what the mainstream press and the Democrats in America. And yes, some of these, you know, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, this is what they’re doing. They’re telling Iran, don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up. Because look, this is going in your favor and this is going against Trump and this is going against Trump. And it’s like, are you kidding me? What a traitorous thing to do. And I know that’s a harsh word. No, you’re right. I told this to my audience yesterday, John, if Barack Obama were president right now or Joe Biden, And they had American troops committed to war right now against an evil nation, especially an evil nation like Iran. Not a chance in the world I would be rooting on the enemy. Not a chance in the world I’d be like Thomas Friedman of The New York Times going on CNN and going, well, I’m really torn who to support here because I don’t want Donald Trump to look good. Not a chance in the world. I would be 100 percent behind the United States in this area. What it proves to me, John, and I know this is cynical, it proves to me that the progressive left in this country, their hatred for Trump is stronger than their love for America or even American lives or even the humanitarian lives of people in the Middle East. Their hatred for Trump trumps everything, even us at a time of war.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, and to your point, we’ve got those folks like, and folks, please hear me when I say this. You’ve got the, again, I mentioned Tucker Carlson, Candace Owen types, and now even a little bit of Megyn Kelly because I think she’s too close to Tucker and she needs to back away and do her own thing and not be influenced by him. That’s a whole conversation literally in and of itself, Bob. But at the end of the day, keeping this in mind, folks, and I remind people of this on my program constantly. Every one of these so-called influencers, which is what I would think Tucker Carlson, yes, they’re in the media to a point. He’s got his own podcast. She does as well. But let’s not forget, they are quote-unquote influencers. And for those of you listening that don’t know how this works, influencers make money. on every single thing they put up on the internet because they use all the platforms that reward them for doing so. So from TikTok to YouTube to Snapchat to Instagram to Facebook to whatever it is, if they get enough hits, likes, followers, and so on, and shares, et cetera, they make money off of that. And some of you are thinking, well, they can’t make that much money. Think again. It can be millions of dollars a year that they can make off the very things I’m talking about. Meaning, the more controversial they are at times, and the more, in this case, opposition to the war being conservative, and the more people they get following them, even people that maybe are like you and I, Bob, that agree with us but still want to see what they’re saying. Here’s my point with all of you listening. Don’t go look at their stuff. I don’t care what they’re saying. Don’t share their stuff. Don’t give them the cash that they gain off of doing so, Bob. That’s my point. I don’t look at anything either one of them do because I don’t want to give them any money.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s right. And the fact is, and I know this is a very simplified way of looking at this, but when you tear down the commander-in-chief in a war and you cheer on the enemy and all you do is hyper-focus on all of the ripples and all of the messy setbacks in something, you are giving ammunition and fuel and motivation to the enemy. You are aiding and abetting the enemy because your hatred for Trump is stronger than than the hatred that you should have for the Ayatollah in Iran. And John, I would say, just stop and digest that for a moment, okay? Think about the criticism that the people, and you know what? I talked about Pope Leo. If Pope Leo, if he would give just half, a tenth of the criticism that he gives of Donald Trump to the Ayatollah in Iran or Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping or Kim Jong-un or any of the evil dictators around the world, Pope Leo won’t even criticize them, but he will pounce and pounce and pounce and pounce on Trump. It’s a typical liberal left-wing mentality in this country, and it’s putting the lives of our American military in danger, not to mention the lives of women and children throughout the Middle East.
SPEAKER 03 :
Speaking of, and again, speaking of Trump, humanitarian, the way he looks at things and so on, I believe it’s, don’t quote me, it’s either seven or nine women that are in Iran that have been accused of different things. Basically, they’re in opposition to those that are in charge. And they are basically going to be raped and hung. And so Trump’s deal is, listen, we’re not doing anything unless we get those folks back. We want them over here on American soil first before we agree to do anything further. But yet, Bob, Trump’s a bad man and he hates women.
SPEAKER 02 :
Oh, I know. And by the way, the gals on The View, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sonny Host, and all the rest of them, somehow they’re not offended by the fact that Iran, yeah, you brought, I’m glad that you pointed this out, raped and hanged because you know what they do before they hang the women? They actually gang rape them. And the reason they do this is because it’s a belief in Shia Islam that if a woman is a virgin, then she can go into paradise if she’s killed. However, she’s not a virgin. Even by rape, if she’s not a virgin, she can’t go into paradise. She ends up going to hell. So what do they do? They gang rape the women first, and then they hang them. What a torturous way for a woman over there to die. And by the way, for what? For the crime of murdering somebody? No. No, for the crime of protesters speaking out and wanting freedom and liberty. All right. Where are the women? Where are the feminists in Hollywood? They’re not offended by any of this. They’re less offended by the mullahs in Iran. They’re less offended by them who treats women this way. And by the way, who executes homosexuals. They’re less offended by them than they are Donald Trump. How sick and twisted is that?

And it’s eight, so folks, it wasn’t seven or nine. I missed it on both ends. It’s actually eight. You know, I knew I should have.
SPEAKER 02 :
Doggone it. When you said it’s seven or nine, I almost blurted out, I thought it was eight, and then I was like, oh, I might not be right. Let me not correct it.
SPEAKER 03 :
And he basically said, you know, he would essentially, to the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives, I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I’m sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do no harm. Would be great start to our negotiations. Thank you for attention to this matter. But again, you know, As I said a moment ago, Bob, Trump hates women. He’s not a humanitarian. He doesn’t have any regard for people in any way, shape or form. And by the way, these are eight very beautiful women as well. And not that that matters one way or the other. But these are, you know, how should I say this, Bob? The Iranian people are very beautiful people and they want their country back. And that’s what Trump is trying to do for them.
SPEAKER 02 :
By the way, John, I would encourage our listeners, go back and look at photographs that are taken in Iran prior to 1979. That’s right. And you know what it looks like? It looks like a typical American town in the 1970s. That’s right. People dressing normal, wearing normal fashion and clothing and going to stores and shopping. High class, Bob. High class. Yes. Tourist attractions over there. We were trading with them. All Trump is trying to do is take Iran back to where they were pre-1979 so that they become a friendly with the U.S. and the Middle East and the rest of the world instead of who they’ve been for the last 47 years. And the American left can’t get behind that because it’s Trump after all. All right.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and this just shows you, Bob, that, you know, and I’ve got listeners. I get on my text line and so on. I hear from the left. And, you know, folks just have. literally it’s trump derangement syndrome i don’t know how to say it they they just they cannot look beyond the man himself to see what he’s doing as you and i and you have talked many many times we always agree with everything trump does of course we don’t he’s not perfect i’m not perfect bob you’re not perfect you know we all make mistakes the president included in and i’m not just a you know blank slate everything he does is great union rah rah rah no we call out the things that he does that we don’t agree with But all in all, as far as what he’s doing in regards to this and the war and the effort and the strategy and so on, Bob, I have no complaints whatsoever. Zero.
SPEAKER 02 :
And, you know, I don’t either. And by the way, one of the things also I said on my show, and I’d like to point this out right now, the Trump derangement syndrome people who are Christians, because I know they’ve got a lot of atheists and nonbelievers, but those that are Christians and still in the name of Jesus, how can you support Donald Trump and the TDS that they have? I would ask them and I would challenge him right now, even those in this audience right now. OK, look over your social media posts just over the course of the last year and look at every single leader of any country, U.S. or any other country around the world. And you look at the amount of time that you’ve devoted to attacking and criticizing that individual and count the times, count the times that you criticized the Democrats for their pushing abortion through all nine months and gender-confusing children, mutilation and such. Look how many times you criticized the dictators around the world, people like Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, the mullahs in Iran. Look how many times you’ve criticized them and And then contrast that with the amount of times that you’ve criticized Donald Trump. And then you tell me, how are you any different than CNN or MSNOW? How are you different? I’m not seeing it. So that’s something I think Christians need to deal with that have this hatred in their heart for Donald Trump that overshadows the hatred that they should have for truly evil things around the world.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, and this is where, and again, folks, listen, I don’t know what’s in each individual person’s heart, whether they’re actually saved, not saved. Bob, I don’t know. Only God knows that end of things. But I do know this. There are people out there that claim to be, that will tell you that they are, that will actually do the very things that you’re talking about. And to me, I struggle. I just cannot wrap my head around that. What I can wrap my head around, Bob, is pre-born and the things that they do to help the unborn.

People that I may like and they may say things that I agree with, but there’s certain… I don’t care how accurate somebody is in a bunch of stuff they say. If they go, oh, and by the way, I believe in white supremacy and I’m a member of the KKK. Goodbye. That just undid everything else that you said. How in the world is Jew hating and anti-Semitism not at least on that same level?

And, of course, I’m John Rush, host today. My show, Rush to Reason, Denver, Colorado, and kind of handle things Southwest. Although, it’s ironic, Bob, that all three of us, even though we do conservative programs, are in deep blue states. I know.
SPEAKER 02 :
This is insane. Go figure. And by the way, here’s what we’re looking at in Michigan, just so you know. We are filling a Senate vacancy here in the state of Michigan. And so right now the frontrunner for the Democrats, because we haven’t had a Republican election. win the Senate in Michigan since 1994. So it’s probably going to be a Democrat. The front runner for a Democrat right now is not just a Muslim. He’s a radical leftist Muslim who was on CNN just last week, a few days ago, and CNN asked him, Would you at least say that Hamas is more evil than Israel? Nope. Israel is just as evil as Hamas. No difference in the evil between—this is how radical and extreme this guy is, and this is very likely going to be the next U.S. senator out of Michigan.
SPEAKER 03 :
But, you know, Bob, sorry, and I hate to keep bringing this up, but I mentioned two people earlier at the close of the first half, Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, who, by the way, are no different than that guy. Yeah, I know. As far as that belief goes, they’re the same. That’s where I struggle so much with some of you that are out there listening to call yourself Christians that follow the likes of Tucker and Candace and think they’re the greatest thing since sliced bread. And yet they’re no different than what Bob just said about this guy running for Senate.
SPEAKER 02 :
You have to determine whether the pro outweighs the cons. And I understand that there’s people out there that – look, we have listeners of ours, John, that they agree with a bunch of stuff we say, but, oh, I think John is all wrong on that and that and that. Okay, fine. I get the same thing too, all right? Yep. But you know what? the stuff that we’re wrong about, are they deal breakers for you? Nope. Because I got to be honest, if anti-Semitism, anti-Semitism, hating Israel, hating Jews, that ought to be a deal breaker. It is for me, Bob. Just like racism ought to be a deal breaker. There are certain things that should be deal breakers. They should be a brick on the other side of the scale.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, I have a policy on my program, and some of you listening know this because I’ve talked about this. I have a text line that people call, you know, I get as many text messages anymore as I do phone calls in because it’s easy for people to text. And Sometimes it’s easy to be a keyboard warrior, keyboard cowboy, I guess I should say. But I have a rule, Bob. If somebody does anything on the text line, I had one of these last week, whereby they do the things you and I are talking about, and I can tell from the text messages that they are flat out Jew haters. They are banned. They’re no longer allowed… They’re blocked. They’re no longer allowed to text in. That is the number one. I’ll put up with a lot of things from people, the left and so on, the things they say on the text line and so on, and I will debate and argue and go back and forth. But there is one thing I will not allow, and it’s that.
SPEAKER 02 :
Right. Now, look, I’m with you. And we just we have to take a stand in certain issues. And I don’t mind disagreement. I don’t mind. John, you probably do the same thing I do when I have on my free for all Fridays. People can call and debate me about whatever they want. All right. You want to get through the line faster than anybody else. Say Bob is wrong about something and I can prove it. All right. That’s a guarantee. Say that to the screen or you’re getting to the front of the line. I’m sure you have the same attitude, John. So we are more than welcome and willing to have differences of opinion. But there are certain things that we have to say this is egregious enough that we’re just not going to give you a seat at the table. And that’s if you’re going to push things like white supremacy or anti-Semitism. It’s just it’s not right.
SPEAKER 03 :
It’s not. And again, I want to make sure I’m crystal clear on this. Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and now somewhat Megyn Kelly. I hate to say that. I hate to throw her into this, but she’s becoming the same way as well. They both, in this case, Megyn not quite so much, but she’s drifting that way, and that’s a concern to me. But Tucker and Carlson, or Tucker and Candace, I should say, Bob, they are, in fact, by the things they say and what they put out and what they post, they are Israel-hating, Jew-hating people. Racist, plain and simple. I don’t know how else to put it.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know what? It’s interesting. It’s almost like, I don’t know how accurate this is, but it’s almost like when people are on mainstream cable, whether it’s Fox News, CNN, anything like that at all, and they leave that and they go into the world of podcasting, they’re kind of unleashed. Mm-hmm. Not saying that there aren’t still some parameters you have to watch and some guidelines because you still have advertisers you have to deal with. But by and large, who you are on the inside is allowed to be – you can get away with exposing who you are on the inside in a more unfiltered way in podcasting than you can traditional establishment media. And I hate to say it, but that’s what we’re – you really find out – What the teabag is, you know, put it in hot water. You find out what’s really inside when they go into an unfiltered medium like podcasting.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and again, folks, the reason that is, I explained it a few minutes ago, even if they do a podcast, they can take chunks of that podcast, which, by the way, they could be doing absolutely no payola, no advertisers, no nothing. It’s not that complicated. I would agree. It’s really not. So that’s ultimately it’s us voting. It is. That’s exactly what it is. That’s exactly what it is. Right.

I want to switch gears a little bit and talk about something that really there’s been a couple of articles that I have read. We had one actually local that reminded me of this just a couple of days ago. One of our local news stations actually ran a piece on this, and that is the Supreme Court. And the fact that we, Bob, on our side, the conservatives, given the fact that we control the House, the Senate and the presidency right now. We should be working on switching out to Supreme Court justices. It would be in our and, frankly, their best interest for the country to do so. And yet, again, as I said a moment ago, Bob, I see very little conversation on this. And I get it. We’ve got a war. We’re doing other things. But this is something that could be done simultaneously. And I don’t know why we’re not doing this.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, it should be. And ultimately, it comes down to if Sam Alito and Clarence Thomas are willing to retire. I agree. Sam Alito is 77 years old. Clarence Thomas is 76. And so it could be argued that they have a good four to eight to maybe 10 years left in them. OK, that is possible. And they could be looking at it that way. If they were in their mid 80s, I think the push would be a lot, lot stronger. Being still in their 70s, I mean, somebody who’s 76, 77 years old, especially if they’re healthy and active, they feel like, I got a lot of life left in me. I’m not ready to start yelling at the squirrels. So it is a challenge here. I get what you’re saying. This is potentially our window of opportunity. And let’s face it, Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito, they’re not just a couple of lean conservatives. Oh, they’re strong. These are the… That’s right. Two strongest conservatives on the Supreme Court, the two strongest, even stronger and more consistent than Neil Gorsuch, who I would put as number three. So they need to be replaced with equally strong. Look, I wouldn’t mind Ted Cruz. Yeah, I think I can work that out in my mouth. as an idea to maybe replace Sam Alito. Somebody that you can trust that’s got a decades-long track record of not wavering and not going soft in these kind of issues. Yeah, look, I would love to see Sam Alito retire right now. I’d love to see both of them retire and give them the send-off that they deserve and all the respect in the world and then have Donald Trump be the one to replace them with a couple of true, equally conservative candidates. candidates. And that buys us another 30, 40 years, maybe.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, let’s not forget the left. We have, in a way, the control of the court right now because the left in this particular regard really messed up. I mean, Ruth Gator Ginsburg, she really messed things up for them. And I don’t know why. You and I were not involved in those conversations, don’t know exactly what happened. But I will tell you this, that was a huge black eye for them because they missed an opportunity because of who know ego. I don’t know what Bob, but I don’t want to make the same mistake.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, no, exactly. I get it. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, though, I believe, if I remember right, she was in her 80s. And I wanted to make too much of the age issue here, but 76 and 77, it’s not like 76 and 77 was when we were kids. You know, 77 is kind of the new 60 these days for a lot of people. So it is a tougher sell to tell them that they need to go to pasture now. But if they don’t and a Democrat gets in there in 2028, now suddenly we’ve got, what, seven more years, six and a half more years to wait?
SPEAKER 03 :
She was 87, by the way.
SPEAKER 02 :
Say what? She was 87. She was 87? then yes, I believe the push would be a lot, lot stronger for them to step down.
SPEAKER 03 :
And I get everything you’re saying, but here’s the risk. And for all of you listening, please understand that here’s the risk. Let’s say that something happens and we don’t retain control the next round. You know, 2028 comes around and we don’t retain control. Or let’s say even, Bob, that we do. I have another four years, but then after that, we don’t have that. And then something happens with either one of these guys to where they end up with some sort of an illness or something happens. I mean, you just, you never know. And I’m not saying that’s going to happen. I have no crystal ball. I’m not wishing anything upon them. I don’t know. But reality is, you know, you could be an easy, depending upon how things work, Bob, 12 to 16 years away from having the opportunity we have right now. And granted, we could have that opportunity in another year. four years. But remember, folks, it’s not just the presidency. You’ve got to be able to control the House and the Senate to get these things handled, which right now we do. And to me, Bob, we have a window of opportunity that we don’t know we’re going to have again.
SPEAKER 02 :
I know. And that’s part of the challenge here. And that’s the reason why I… Oh, boy, I’ll tell you what. Yeah, if they were in their 80s, I guess it would be easier. But it still doesn’t change the fact that if a Democrat gets in there in 2028, we’ve got we’re done. They have to hold on at least six and a half years.
SPEAKER 03 :
To think about this, though, even if we lose the House this fall, which we could, we might even lose the Senate. We don’t know. I mean, depend. There’s a lot of things that will happen between now and then. You know, again, our window of opportunity is in the next six months. And if we don’t get it done by then, we may not have that opportunity again for quite some time.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, and that is very true. And I just I got to tell you, I don’t I just don’t see them stepping down. I don’t. Sam Alito, maybe. But because there’s been some speculation about that. But if they’re going to do it, they would need to do it. You’re right. Right now, because the Supreme Court, they’re kind of like kids in school. They take the whole summer off. And so they’re going to be issuing their final rulings usually around the end of June. And then that’s it. They’re not back again until October. And there’s not a chance in the world somebody is getting through the nomination process just a few weeks before the election. So if it’s going to happen, it would need to happen now.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I’d say you’ve got maybe by the end of June to actually make that happen, but probably even sooner. Again, it needs to really start. I mean, I’m not trying to push the administration. I don’t have any control over it or influence any way, shape, or form anyways. But, Bob, this needs to happen now.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, I know. And I don’t see it happening. And so for that reason, and I could be wrong, but we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll pretty much just have to pray that Sam Alito and Clarence Thomas stay healthy for at least the next six and a half years and very possibly the next 10 and a half years.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, because again, for those that are listening, it’s not just the presidency. In fact, Bob, as you know, it even needs to be a little bit more stacked on our side, even in regards to the House and the Senate right now. I mean, it’s not 50-50. We do control it, but not by a whole lot. In fact, we’ll talk about Virginia here in a moment, depending upon some things that happen in certain states. we may not hang on to things. There’s a lot that’s up in the air. My point is we have that opportunity now and I just, my fear is because of other things that are going on, the war and so on, we’re not looking at it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Right. We’re really not. And this is an area, I hate to say it, but usually, usually the Democrats do a way better job than the Republicans of not just messaging and branding, which we’ve talked about many times, but also just strategically, politically fighting. They are way more shrewd. And I would argue to a point of cheating and rigging the system. They do. But that is part of politics as well. You know what? I’ll tell you what. The Democrats are better in baseball. They’re better at stealing second than the Republicans are. They just are. Stealing second is something legal you can get away with. It’s rigging and rearranging the chess pieces. Democrats just do way better than that. Republicans are too timid and go, well, no, let’s not – That’s setting a bad precedent. Democrats are doing it already. Right. We’re too nice.
SPEAKER 03 :
I don’t know. We’re too nice.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yes. Yes. In fact, we are too nice and they are too ruthless.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yep. And we at times forget, and I’m reminded of this here in Colorado. I talk about this daily. We have such a mess with our Colorado GOP here in Colorado. Right. I don’t know Bob right now, and I’m not trying to be mean or rude to those that are here in Colorado, but we’re lucky to get a dog catcher elected. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that we are so bad at the leadership end of things and being unified and getting behind the right candidate. We run so many bad candidates over and over again. And here’s my other issue with that. Anytime we lose, the first thing I hear is, well, the election was rigged. And I come back with, no, that one, I don’t think they had – no offense. We did all of their work for them. We ran a really bad candidate that was very easy to beat, and you didn’t have to rig anything. But the left just let us do our own thing. They didn’t have to do a single thing.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, the – True, combined with and supplemented with whatever rigging the left does. Because the left does do rigging. They just use every tool.
SPEAKER 03 :
Sometimes, though, Bob, and I’m a true believer in this, they have got so many things to do that there are times for them where it’s like, wait a minute, they’ve got such a bad candidate. In fact, here in Colorado, they’ll even support that candidate sometimes through the primary to know that that candidate’s the best to beat or the easiest to beat, knowing that when it’s all said and done, they don’t have to do anything. The guy’s going down anyways. They don’t care. All right. I know. I mean, they’re not dumb. I think that’s what you and I are talking about right now. They are a machine. They are not dumb. They run it as such, and we don’t.
SPEAKER 02 :
Right. And this is something that Democrats have mastered. I mean, they really have. They are much better at it than Republicans are, unfortunately. Same thing with the gerrymandering of the districts. And talk about that in Virginia.
SPEAKER 03 :
This is something I have not followed very closely. I apologize. I’ve had a lot going on. But talk to us about Virginia.
SPEAKER 02 :
All right. Well, here’s here’s I got to give a little bit of background on this. OK. Many in the media are saying that the Republicans started this with Texas because usually gerrymandering of districts is done every 10 years on the census. That’s the most common way, although states, including Democrat states, have done it mid decade before. And gerrymandering districts are basically saying, let’s get out a map and let’s look at the districts themselves. And right now, let’s say there’s 10 congressional districts in a state. And they say, well, let’s see, if we… Five of them typically go Republican, five go Democrat. But if we reshaped this district and we shaped it in some weird Picasso painting kind of design, we can take part of this district that has… Democrats could do this. Here’s a bunch of Democrats that are already part of this district. Let’s take this part of it that are Democrat and let’s stretch it over into… This other Republican area. OK, and then we’ll take that because we got enough Democrats in our district. We can afford to lose some of them. We’ll stretch it out to that Republican area. And then that way, instead of Democrats winning this district in an election, instead of them winning 80 to 20, they’ll win 60 to 40. But by redesigning these districts, what Democrats can do is say, now suddenly, instead of having five and five, we’re going to have like eight and two, where eight districts are going to go easily Democrat and only two are going to go Republican. This is gerrymandering districts. It is legal to do. Now, Republicans did this in Texas last year and Democrats were having a cow. How dare you do such a thing? Because this is usually done every 10 years at the census. The reason Texas did that is because the Democrats first stacked the deck with the four years of Joe Biden’s open borders by flooding 10 to 20 million illegals in this country, having them in Democrat blue states worldwide. which means that those states get extra congressional districts and extra electoral college votes. So it makes it way harder for Republicans to hold control of the House. That’s why Texas said, well, we have to do something to fight back. We’re a border state, and California did this as a border state, so we’re going to do this as a border state, too. It opened the floodgates because then Democrats were like, well, then fine, we’re going to go to war in gerrymandering. And Virginia is the latest place they did this. And they went so over the top that they took 11 congressional districts in Virginia. Six of them typically go Democrat, five of them Republican. And they redesigned those districts. So now it’s going to go 10 to 1. 10 Democrats to one Republican. They just picked up that many extra seats now in Virginia alone. And they’ve gerrymandered in a few other states. Republicans have tried to do this as well to catch up, but they can’t do it as well. Trump has been telling them, Republican states, come on, fight as hard as they do. Iowa was like, no, that’s not nice. We want to be nice. Ron DeSantis in Florida is like, hey, you know what? We’ll do it here. We’ll do it here. So what happened is Virginia went ahead. The voters had a referendum to amend their constitution to redistrict the congressional districts here. And now Virginia, which is just about 50-50 Republican-Democrat, is going to have representation of 10 Democrats to one Republican. That’s how disproportionate it is. But the Democrats are high-fiving themselves, and Republicans just stink at taking off the gloves and fighting bare-knuckle.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know, you and I talk about it a lot. I know it’s one of the biggest frustrations that especially you and I have. I talk about it on my program. You do as well. We talk about it here, and that is… You know, the lack of fight we have at times, the lack of messaging, which, by the way, I think has to do with the fight end of things as well. I don’t understand why we do what we do. We’re too nice.
SPEAKER 02 :
You said it before. We’re too nice. We’re too nice.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, you’re right.
SPEAKER 02 :
This is politics, okay? Look, as Christians, we turn the other cheek. John, if somebody insults you— you’re going to turn to them, your other cheek and say, here, insult the other side of me too. You’re not going to call them a cuss word back, all right? That’s turning the other cheek. But in baseball, you’re allowed to steal second, okay? In boxing, you’re allowed to try to knock the person out. Well, in politics… Same applies. There is a certain element of sometimes you have to fight bare knuckled. Republicans stink at fighting bare knuckled. Republicans try to be too protocol-ish. And Democrats are not like that. And so you have no choice but to fight dirty in politics. You can fight legal, not illegal, not corrupt. But sometimes you got to fight bare knuckle. And Republicans are lousy at that.
SPEAKER 03 :

So I responded in such a way and I got some answers back and I responded and then I got one. last answer back that said, well, let’s hope and pray that you’re wrong and it turns out differently. And my closing comments today is, folks, as much as hope and prayer is awesome, hope especially is not strategy for winning. You have to have a plan to win, something Bob and I talk about all the time. You’ve got to have strategy. We as conservatives have to do better along those lines.
