SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This week I am sharing with you some of my testimonies about my mission experiences and sharing with you some of the things the Lord has taught me as well as the faithfulness and the goodness and favor of God. He has done so many wonderful things. And in the last couple of broadcasts, I was talking to you about the grace of God. And I shared with you how when I first got to the mission field, it started all over another boot camp. The first five weeks in the mission field were in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. And actually, for those of you who know World War II history, that was New Hebrides. Vanuatu was called New Hebrides, and that was the rear base in the Pacific for the Allied forces. And so even when I was there, you could see the remnants of the war that remained there. And so the grace of God is so needed. Now, Vanuatu is a beautiful place. It’s a beautiful island nation, tropical, lush, green, lots of beautiful tropical flowers, beautiful, clear waters. And the people are beautiful, very beautiful. and beautiful, smiling, loving faces. However, when I first got there, it was very, very hard and difficult for me. And as a matter of fact, I shared that back in the early 90s, I had gone on a mission to the Darien jungle in Central America. And And when I went in the jungle, we went by foot a long ways back into the deep part of the jungle and then did some outreach and mission work in a village. But it was very hard, very rough. And so I cried out to the Lord, Oh God, I want to be a city missionary, not a jungle missionary. But where did he send me first? He sent me into the bush, which is the Pacific Island version of the jungle. And it was very, very hot, very humid. And I struggled with the climate shock, with the culture shock, with the language shock, with spiritual battles that I had not faced before. And then on top of that, the loneliness that began to set in. And so I needed the grace of God. And after a period of five weeks, the Lord showed me that the first five weeks was another boot camp, which I had not expected I would experience. And it was harder than anything I had ever been through before. But then after that, the Lord showed me that I had passed the test and he gave me a new strength. and renewed the fire and the zeal and the passion to do the work of God on the mission field and to go farther and to go harder than ever before. But I received the grace of God. The grace of God came in like a flood. Amen. Amen. Amen. And so God gave me that grace. And I wanted to share another experience. It wasn’t very long after that. It was actually about the end of the second year on the mission field. And I was going country to country to country. I would leave one country and go to the next and leave that and go to the next. And I would leave that and go to the next. And I was on the mission field about nine or ten months before. Both of those. Well, the first year, I think it was 10 months. The second year was nine months from country to country to country to country. And it was in the later part of the second year where, again, I was struggling in a situation and I was crying out to God. God, where is the grace? God, where is the grace? God, where is the grace to do this? And it was for a specific thing. And the Holy Spirit spoke something in my heart that I have never forgotten. And it has become a rule in my life. It has been a revelation in my life. And the Lord said to me, the grace comes with the willingness. The grace comes with the willingness. In other words, when you resist God’s will, then you also resist God’s grace to do his will. Let me say that again. When you resist God’s will, and that’s by just being unwilling, by fighting in your soul realm. I don’t like this. I don’t like this. It could be a new job. It can be any kind of things, but let’s just take an example, a new job. And you’re in that job. I don’t like this job. I don’t like this job. I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be here. Well, if God has called you there, then you are not receiving the grace that you need to be there. As long as in your mind, you are resisting it and fighting against it and saying, I don’t like this. I don’t want to be here. And that was what was going on inside of me. I don’t like this. I don’t want to be in this situation. And so the Holy Spirit said the grace comes with the willingness. And so I knew immediately that if I’m going to receive the grace, I must be willing to do his will, willing to do his will, willing to be in the places that God wants us to be. And like the Lord said to me, if you are resisting his will, then you’re resisting also the grace that comes to do his will. So in order to have the grace to do his will, you must submit yourself to willingly do his will. Well, I just made an immediate turn in my heart. You know, it doesn’t take but a second. It doesn’t take but a moment. to change your heart and say, Oh Lord, I’m willing. That’s what I did. I said, Lord, I’m willing. And immediately the grace came to continue in that situation. And that particular situation went with me for several years. And I continued to say, Lord, I am willing. I am willing. I am willing. And And that was such a major revelation. And when we go to James chapter four, James chapter four, verse six, six and seven, James four, six says, but he gives us more grace. That is why scripture says, God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves then to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Now, this brings a lot more light into those verses. When you understand grace comes with the willingness. Well, what does that mean? When it says submit yourselves to God in verse 7, he says in verse 6, God gives grace to the humble. Then the next line says, submit yourselves then to God. God gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves then to God. Well, what does it mean to submit yourself to God? It means to submit yourself to his will, to be willing to do his will. And secondly, receiving the cleansing of the Holy Spirit through the convictions and And the corrections and the rebukes of the Holy Spirit. That when the Holy Spirit convicts you of wrong that you have done or a wrong attitude, a wrong thought or a wrong action. That’s the three primary areas where we do wrong, which is sin. It’s an attitude to the heart. Or thoughts of the mind and words, which words are the result of thoughts and attitudes and actions. And when we’ve done wrong and the Holy Spirit shines the light on what we did so that we see it. When we see it, then we are responsible to submit to that conviction by confessing it and repenting for it and saying, Lord, I change. I turn around. I will change my ways. That is submitting yourself to the Holy Spirit. And so we see people who want to argue you don’t confess your sins. You will not ever have any spiritual authority. Because as it says in James 4, 7, you cannot resist the devil and overcome until you have submitted yourself to God. And that means also submitting to his will and submitting to his convictions, rebukes and corrections. You must submit. And then when you do submit, then you know you have authority to turn and resist the devil. Speak against the devil, bind him and cast him out and he will flee from you. So you do not have authority over the devil until you have submitted yourself to God. That’s what it says in James 4, 7. And submitting yourself to God is being humble. Being proud is arguing and denying that you’ve done anything wrong or just ignoring that you’ve done wrong and refusing to confess it and repent. That then is being proud and God opposes the proud. Oh my goodness, it’s bad enough if people oppose you. How much worse is it if God opposes you? If God opposes you, you don’t stand a chance. to succeed when God opposes you and God will oppose the proud, but he gives grace to the humble. Those are the ones who humbly submit to him and his will and his corrections in their life. And then you have authority to resist the devil and the devil will flee from you. So The Lord showed me this is the willingness to do his will submitting to God. And then the grace comes in. And I want to say something again. I want to add on to this about the tests that God allows in our life. And I’ve taught this before when we talked about what Jesus did on the cross for us and substitution that he made for us. There are things that Jesus bore for us. Those things we should not allow or tolerate. Those things we should resist. That is sin. Jesus bore our sins. It also says he bore our sicknesses and diseases. He himself carried our sicknesses and bore our diseases. Isaiah 53 and also Matthew chapter 8 verse 17. He himself bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases. If he bore sickness and carried disease, then we should resist it. This is another reason why Paul’s thorn was not a sickness. He was supposed to resist a sickness and also overcome the attacks of the enemy. Jesus gave us victory over everything that he defeated and everything he bore. Now, I’ll pick this up tomorrow as I’m running out of time right now. And so join me again tomorrow. Remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
