Good morning, praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith, I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to begin sharing with you another series of messages that I preached in our Victorious Faith services called the God of Miracles. I believe this series of messages will build your faith that God does miracles and he is still doing miracles today. Today. This first message is called Miracles of Provision. And if there’s any need in your life for a miracle, I encourage you to ask and believe God to receive your miracle today. We’ve been on a series in the past called Who Do You Say That I Am, in which we studied names of God. And we went through a whole bunch. Some you knew already, I expect, and some you probably didn’t know. They’re not as common. But we’ve studied those revealing the character of God. And I decided to call this part eight of that series, but also part one of a new series. And so this is part eight of the Who Do You Say That I Am series. He is the God of miracles. But it’s going to be part one of a new series about the God of miracles. And we’re going to be looking at miracles. And tonight we’re going to study or read, I should say, miracles of provision. And our text for this series, our text scripture verse is Psalm 77, 14. You are the God who performs miracles. You display your power among the peoples. And so that will be our text scripture for all of the messages in the series. You are the God who performs miracles. And I’m sharing this because there have been times in my life that I needed a miracle. Has anybody ever needed a miracle? And when I’ve needed a miracle, I have found it faith building to study miracles because I’ve seen God has done it before. He’ll do it again. And so actually, honestly, I’m sorry to do this, but I have typed out all the scriptures and we’re going to be reading these scripture passages of miracles. So I’ll preach as I go, you know, but it’s not going to be quite as much as a maybe a preachy as it’s going to be reading miracle after miracle after miracle in the Bible that will build your faith. Praise the Lord. So now these tonight, we’re looking specifically miracles of provision, miracles of God providing. So if you need anything, food, money, clothes, car, vehicle, any provision, God has done it before and he’ll do it again. Amen. So we see a miracle of manna in Exodus 16 verses 11 to 16. This is when Moses had led the Israelites into the wilderness. The Lord said to Moses, I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them at twilight, you will eat meat. And in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord, your God. And that evening, quail came, and we might as well go ahead and mention that too, because that’s the next one in the list. Quail, God gave them bread and meat every day for 40 years. Now, you might get tired of eating the same thing, but they had bread and meat every day for 40 years. They didn’t have to work for it. It came to them. And so the quail was there. That was also a miracle. Because it was flown in fresh every night and enough for everybody. That was a miracle. So verse 13, that evening quail came and covered the camp. And in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, what is it? For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, it is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. This is what the Lord has commanded. Each one is to gather as much as he needs. Take an omer for each person you have in your tent. So actually the word manna means what is it? That’s the meaning translation of the word manna. So what is it? is actually what the word manna means. Manna means, what is it? So we see God gave them bread, and then quail is also a miracle. Flown in fresh to their doorstep every night, enough for everybody, every day for 40 years. That was a miracle as well. So fresh bread and meat every day. And then they were thirsty, so God provided water from the rock, provided at Rephidim. Exodus 17, verses six and seven. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock and water will come out of it for the people to drink. So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, is the Lord among us or not? And so God brought forth water from the rock. And that was, I did a message a year ago talking about different channels and different ways that God can provide. And we need to stretch our thinking that we seem to limit the ways God can provide just primarily to the work of our hands, maybe some investments, maybe some family member or something. Certain channels that the ones that we always use, we tend to think are all there is. God is able to make water come from a rock. God can make anything happen for you. And so your provision can come from anywhere, any way. And we really cannot figure out how God is going to do it because generally he does it in a way that we wouldn’t have thought of. And so water from the rock is an example of something that is impossible, a miracle, and an unexpected method. Again, the second time God provided water from the rock in the desert. in Numbers 20, verses 7 through 11. The Lord said to Moses, take the staff, that was the staff in his hand, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock. He said, speak to it this time. And you know, that rock was a type and shadow of Jesus. And so striking the rock the second time, the first time the rock was struck was showing that Jesus would be crucified. He’d be beaten. The second time he wasn’t supposed to strike the rock because it was like beating the Lord Jesus a second time. And he only needed to suffer once for all, for everybody. So that was why it was wrong. For one thing, it was disobedience, but the rock was a type of Christ. And he was supposed to speak, not strike. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink. So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence just as he commanded him. He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock. And Moses said to them, listen, you rebels. So here he got in the flesh. He got in the flesh, lost his temper. Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock? Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out and the community and their livestock drank. But that act of disobedience caused Moses to not enter the promised land. Then God provided clothing and sandals that did not wear out for 40 years. Deuteronomy 29, 5. During the 40 years that I led you through the desert, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. So they had clothing that did not wear out. And I’m sure that they weren’t looking for the latest fashion anyway. So as long as they had wearable clothes, I’m sure they were satisfied. Then water came for Samson as well. This is another time God brought water and God has brought water even another time. We’ll read again later. Water for Samson from a hollow place in Lehi. Judges 15 verses 16 through 19. Then Samson said, With a donkey’s jawbone, I have made donkeys of them. That’s kind of funny. With a donkey’s jawbone, I have killed a thousand men. When he finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone and the place was called Ramath Lahai. Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord. You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised? Then God split open the hollow place in Lehi. And I looked at that word hollow place because I really wanted to know what it was. And it means hollow place. So we’ll have to wait till we get to heaven to find out what it was. Some translations, I have software that gives me like 20, 25 translations. Some called it a basin. Some translated it as a cavity. Some translated it as a cleft in a rock. So we don’t know exactly what it was because the literal translation is hollow place. And the word split is actually there. So it meant to split open, to break apart. So something he split open and he broke apart. The hollow place in Lehi and water came out of it. When Samson drank, his strength returned and he revived. So the spring was called En-Hakor and it is still there in Lehi. Praise God. And then ravens brought food, delivered food to Elijah. First Kings 17 verses two through six. Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah. Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kareth ravine east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there. So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kareth ravine east of the Jordan and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening. And he drank from the brook. And to do that, I mean, ravens are scavengers. So to think that they would bring him meat and they wouldn’t eat it themselves is was a miracle. They’re scavengers. They eat dead animals so that they would find fresh meat and bread and bring it to him and drop it to him and enough to make a meal both morning and evening every day for many number of days that he stayed there. That was a miracle because scavenger birds would have eaten it themselves. Well, any bird really, but smaller birds would just eat seeds. So God used a scavenger bird that would have eaten the meat to drop it off. Praise the Lord. Now, then the widow of Zarephath’s meal and oil multiplied for many days. First King 17, 13 through 16. Elijah said to the widow. And he had already said, please bring me a meal. And she said, surely, Lord, I don’t have any, but a little meal and a little bit of oil for me and my son, and we will eat it and die. What you just heard was part one of message one of a series that I preached in our victorious faith services called the God of miracles. And this message is called Miracles of Provision. And I believe that this series of messages will encourage and build your faith to receive the miracle that you need in your life. God is still doing miracles today, and he is both willing and able to do a miracle for you. So I encourage you to ask and believe God to receive your miracle today.
