In this episode of Victorious Faith, Cherri Campbell continues Part 3 of Miracles of Provision in her God of Miracles series, focusing on one powerful theme: overflow.
Through multiple biblical accounts, Cherri shows that God doesn’t just meet needs—He exceeds them. From the widow whose oil paid off her debts with more left over, to the feeding of thousands with just a few loaves and fish, Scripture consistently reveals a God who multiplies beyond expectation.
The teaching also highlights how miracles often flow through participation. Whether it was the disciples distributing bread or individuals acting in obedience, provision didn’t just happen
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I’ve been sharing with you in the last couple of broadcasts that I preached in a series of messages in our Victorious Faith services called The God of Miracles. And in this series, we are studying miracles in the Bible. And this first message is called miracles of provision. So join me now in our live service for part three of message one of this message called miracles of provision. And then the widow’s oil was multiplied. She was in debt and she came to the man of God with her need. Second Kings four, one through seven. The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, your servant, my husband is dead. And you know that he revered the Lord, but now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves. Elisha replied to her. How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house? Your servant has nothing there at all, she said, except a little oil. Let me give a little lesson there. She said, we have nothing except a little oil. Don’t count a little bit as nothing. Never count a little bit as nothing because the little bit can become the miracle. Don’t count a little bit as nothing because the little bit can become the miracle. The little bit can become the miracle. So it’s interesting. She said, we have nothing at all except a little oil, but her oil was the key to the miracle. So she had something count everything you have, no matter how small it is, it can be used for a miracle except a little oil. She said, verse three, Elisha said, go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars. And as each is filled, put it to one side. She left him and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, bring me another one. But he replied, there is not a jar left. Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God and he said, go sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left. So there was more than enough to pay the debts. The debts were paid in full with enough leftover she could live on. She could live on it. Glory to God. Then we see another miracle of people fed with a small number of loaves. 100 men fed with 20 barley loaves. 2 Kings 4, 42 to 44. A man came from Baal Shalisha bringing the man of God 20 loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain. In other words, it was his first fruits of his harvest. The first of the barley, the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. give it to the people to eat. Elisha said, how can I set this 20 loaves? He’s saying before 100 men, his servant asked, but Elisha answered, give it to the people to eat for this is what the Lord says. They will eat and have some left over. Then he said it before them and they ate and had some leftover according to the word of the Lord. Praise the Lord. So this is an Old Testament example of multiplication of barley loaves to feed 100 men. Now let’s look at the New Testament. We’ve got miracles in the New Testament. Miracles of provision. All right. The ministry of Jesus, the multiplication of the loaves and fish feeding 5,000. In Matthew 14 verses 15 to 21. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, this is a remote place and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food. Jesus replied, they do not need to go away. You give them something to eat. We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish. They answered, bring them here to me, he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass, taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven. He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the people. Now, I believe the multiplication happened not only in Jesus’ hands, but in the disciples’ hands. Because as they kept distributing, it kept multiplying in their hands as well. And so the multiplication just went on and on and on from hand to hand to hand. And even if the people would have passed it down the row, you could imagine it multiplied in their hands as well. So I don’t think that the multiplication was only in the hands of Jesus. I think the multiplication was in the hands of everybody who handled the bread. And so Jesus gave them to the disciples. The disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. And the disciples picked up 12 basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about 5,000 men, besides women and children. Praise the Lord. And then multiplication of the loaves and fish, feeding 4,000. In Matthew 15, the next chapter, 32 to 38, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, I have compassion for these people. They have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry or they may collapse on the way. His disciples answered, where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd? How many loaves do you have? Jesus asked. Seven, they replied, and a few small fish. He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish. And when he had given thanks, that also means blessed. He blessed and broke and they multiplied. The anointing to multiply was released. And he broke them and gave them to the disciples. And they in turn to the people. So I believe they kept multiplying in the hands of each one that held it. They in turn to the people, they all ate and were satisfied. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was 4,000 besides women and children. Glory to God. Then tax money miraculously provided and a randomly caught fish as Jesus promised and said it would be. Matthew 17, 24 to 27. After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two drachma tax came to Peter and asked, doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax? Yes, he does, he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. What do you think, Simon? He asked. From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes? From their own sons or from others? From others, Peter answered. Then the sons are exempt, Jesus said to him. Right here, he was declaring himself to be a son of God as well. The sons are exempt, Jesus said to him. But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch. Open its mouth and you will find a four drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours. Praise the Lord. And then a miraculous catch of fish we see in Luke 5. four through seven. When he had finished speaking, this was to the crowds of people he sat and taught all day sitting in Peter’s boat. After he’d finished speaking, he said to Simon, put out into deep water and let down the nets for a catch. Simon answered, master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. So there, a miraculous catch of fish. God brought all the fish, perhaps all the fish in the lake at that time or on that side of the lake, all into their net. Glory to God. And then another way God can provide is turning one substance into another substance. Water turned into wine. And from a scientist’s perspective, that had to be a total chemical change. And changing chemicals, somebody, I heard a scientist talking about it one time, years and years ago, so I don’t remember all the detail. Except he said, the transformation of those chemicals in those clay jars meant that those jars had to actually withstand an excessive amount of pressure not to break and explode. Because the chemical reaction going inside of them could have been explosive. They said, according to the scientific makeup of water, H2O, converting into wine, it could have been explosive. And yet those jars, and actually they were… This was like 30 years ago. I remember this story. So forgive me for not remembering all the details. But they said they actually found some of the clay jars that were excavated in Israel. And they put it to the test. And it was a type of clay that could withstand that kind of explosive power in some way. I don’t know all the answers to that. But there was something the way the clay was made and packed or something like that. It was a very strong, sturdy clay. So anyway, I don’t know about that. I heard that many years ago on Christian television from a Christian scientist. But it’s all bringing into the picture of that this was a miracle and other aspects of that miracle, the converting of chemicals and the power that it took to do that. So John 2 says, Actually, you know what? I’m going to move ahead here because you know that story, so I don’t need to read it. You’ve got the scripture there. Jesus turned water to wine, and then also the miraculous catch of fish in John 21, 4-6. This is after Jesus was resurrected from the dead, after he was raised from the dead. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, friends, haven’t you any fish? No, they answered. He said, throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. So another multiplication, whether it was multiplication of fish or all the fish gathered together, it was a miracle. Now I want to get to this part, modern day miracles. Tommy Williams, he was at Eagle Mountain International Church, a minister. He was an evangelist. And he shared this with Pastor George. Pearsons shared it with the congregation. And I transcribed. I went to the message where this testimony was shared to the congregation. I transcribed it word for word as it was said to Pastor George. I, Tommy Williams… So he was in a church service speaking. He was… He is… I don’t know if he’s still alive, but he was an evangelist sharing a testimony in a church service. And he said, in the service, I shared that I spoke to the birds based on 1 Kings 17, when the ravens brought food to Elijah. They gathered around and listened to me, and I called in finances from the birds. Then I started finding money around the house after I went out and spoke to the birds.” During that service in which I shared this testimony, a 15-year-old boy was so impressed with the story that he decided to try it. What you just heard was part three of message one of a series of messages that I preached in our Victorious Faith services called The God of Miracles. And this first message is called Miracles of Provision. We are studying miracles in the Bible where God supernaturally provided for the physical needs of people. And I encourage you to believe God today for your miracle. God is still able and still willing to do miracles today, and he’ll do a miracle for you. So I encourage you to release your faith and ask and believe God to receive your miracle today. Now, join me again tomorrow as we will continue this message. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
