On this encore broadcast, Darren and I talk about the power and liberty that can only come through Holy Spirit in us. Seeing is not necessarily believing because where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. And we explain that there must be transformation in your life and in your lifestyle. You have turned from your wicked ways and you are now salt and light to those around you. Darren gives us an insightful comment that one does not put importance in words without seeing the power in those words. And the results that follow because the Kingdom of God does not consist in words but of power. Are your words meaningful? Do they consist of substance? Now let’s join the program. We are ready to go for it today and if you have a Bible you might want to grab and go to the New Testament, go to Matthew chapter 17. We are going to be spending a few moments there today. But I hope that you have had a wonderful, wonderful time with the Lord that you have taken time to pray and edify yourself in the Spirit and in the Word. And when you do, it makes a great, great difference. And then I would like to make the announcement that we make every day about our regular class. And this week we are going to be talking about how you really release the power in your life, how you get to know the Spirit of God. And where the Spirit is, that’s where the power is. And many of you believers are trying to make it as a believer without the power. You have gotten born again but you are still powerless as a believer and you are powerless to bring that faith into your business in terms of seeing some results happen because of your prayer life or the time you spend in the Word of God. We can show you how to make that transition from being a powerless Christian to being one that is dynamic in the Word, one where you sparkle with the power of God and that can happen. God is not selective, he doesn’t have any favorites. And so that might also include you. So we will be talking about that tomorrow evening. Today we are going to be talking about just a little precursor in this that seeing is not necessarily believing. And a lot of you have seen things or you say I want to see some of God would show me a miracle then I would believe well the Word of God needs to be approved. So Barbara I see you turning quickly through there. Did you have something to share? I see you got your thumb in a very special scripture. When you were saying where the Spirit of the Lord is there is power but there is also liberty. And a lot of people are imprisoned there and they don’t have the liberty that God has promised. And you will find that in 2 Corinthians 3 17. Now the Lord is the Spirit. You know God is Spirit and we must worship God in Spirit and in truth. And where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. And that’s what’s so wonderful there in the next verse talks about how we are being transformed into the same image of God from glory to glory just as the Lord is from the Spirit. And we are going to talk about that transformation a little bit here in Matthew 17. Kind of exciting. And there has to be a transformation. There has to be a change. Some of you got born again and there hasn’t been a change in your life there should be. There should be a definite change in your life. People ought to see it. You ought to know about it. And it’s not just about well I did that one time. I did confess my sins one time. I got baptized one time. I went to church one time. No no this means a change in your lifestyle. Well and that’s what repent means there and it means you change. You turn around 180 degrees. You go from the kingdom of darkness where you were serving the devil to the kingdom of light. If there isn’t a change in your loved one regarding this that isn’t a true conversion. It truly isn’t because we have got to know them by their fruit. The fruit is how they act afterwards. It truly is. And what they produce afterwards. And we want you all to grow in the Lord and grow up in the Lord. Some of you are still on grade level kindergarten grade level one. And we want you to grow up and graduate into this thing. I want to read this scripture because it tailors into many of the things that we teach but is founded first Corinthians now verse 4 verse 19 or chapter 4 verse 19. And the writer is saying I will come to you soon with the Lord wills and I shall find out not the words of those who are arrogant but their power for the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. Now that means do you people that are in sales it should translate to sales for you people that are in teaching it ought to translate to your students receiving what you teach in other words there should be a power transfer. And here it is for the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power some of you are not hooked into the kingdom of God you need to be if you are going to be successful and whatever you are doing. That’s right. And there is a difference between the word of God and the words. Some of you you speak 17,000 words a day but does it amount to anything? Do your words amount to anything? It’s like that that cliche that we use nowadays Darren. Some people are talking the talk but they are just not walking the walk. And we want to see people that are genuine if they are going to say something we want them to be we want them to be walking what they are saying. And praise God as we walk in the Lord Jesus Christ and as we serve him hopefully we are making that transformation and transition. Today we are talking about a real transformation but a transformation also and Barbara do you want to pick that up Matthew chapter 17? Well we see that just after Jesus told them that discipleship is costly and they need to pick up their cross and follow after him. Six days later Jesus took Peter, James and John and went into a high mountain. Now in Israel their mountains aren’t nearly as high as our mountains are so we can’t say they were a 14,000 foot mountain like we have here in the Rocky Mountains but it was a high mountain in regards to where they were in Judea. And he was transfigured before them. Darren this word transfigured comes from the Greek word metamorphia and we get the metamorphosis that we’ve studied as butterflies go through metamorphosis in science and biology. They go from a cocoon into a beautiful butterfly and here we see that Jesus was transfigured before his friends Peter, James and John his face shown like the sun and his garments became white as snow. I truly believe when we are transformed that day that God calls us home we are going to be changed in the twinkling of an eye it says in 1 Corinthians 15 I believe around the 50th verse in the twinkling of an eye we’re going to change I believe it’s the same thing that Jesus went through here. Now he was with close friends close to Cyborg Peter, James and John that’s important to remember in this story. And I believe Darren he was giving him a little precursor to what was going to happen. Okay he’d already told him he was going to die he was going to go across he was going to suffer he was going to be scourged by the Jews or the Romans and he was going to die and he was going to rise again I believe here he was showing him what was going to happen. He was going to come back in a glorified body. And they were beginning to argue with him oh Lord no not but it couldn’t possibly happen. Yes in chapters before yes. And he was saying yes but it has to happen and it will happen. That’s right. So here I believe Jesus brought his friends Peter, James and John to show them that after he died he was going to come forth in a glorified body they wouldn’t have to worry. And along came Moses and Elijah with his transformation they were accompanying him and talking to him. Don’t you think Darren that maybe they were encouraging him saying Jesus it’s just a short while longer and you’re going to be with us. Well I also believe that this is this is a proof in a sense of the second coming of Jesus because he was transferred figured there he changed form. Okay he became invisible then he became visible again and I believe that we’re going to see Jesus coming the flesh in the second coming. And he was transferred before him and his face shown like the sun his garments became white as light behold Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him. And Peter answered and said to Jesus now I call Peter the big mouth Peter answered and said to the Lord it is good for us to be here. If you wish I’ll make three tabernacles here one for you one for Moses and one for Elijah. Now I like to point this out while he was speaking verse five behold a bright cloud overshadowed and behold a voice out of the God saying this is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased listen to him. Now they heard the voice of Father God in the natural. They saw with their natural eyes Jesus transfigured they also saw Moses and Elijah. Now the thing I’d like to point out here is just a few chapters later I think it’s in chapter 26 of Matthew. The same Peter was denying Jesus and the same Peter saw many miracles and he saw Moses and Elijah he saw Jesus come and go you know into the spirit back into the natural you know he saw the transfiguration. And some of you say today and this is why I’m pointing this out if I could just see a miracle I would believe well seeing is not necessarily believing seeing is not something that’s going to hold you through there. That’s believing is what’s going to hold you through there. Absolutely and you’re absolutely right Darren that Peter saw this he was standing there he heard Father God’s voice he was seeing Jesus and we see in John 20 Jesus had the ability to go through walls. Remember after Jesus was gone they were all scared that they were going to be the next to be crucified they were locked up in a room and Jesus appeared to them instantly. So we know in this new body that we’re going to have just like Jesus here that we’re going to be able to go through walls we’re going to have a body a glorified body that does the impossible here on earth right now but it’s going to be possible to do that. Praise God. And he talked with him he was there in the flesh. Yes he said feel my hands and feel my side and well that’s after he was crucified. To Thomas yes. Yeah and now folks I’ll tell you this is so important to get this part of what we’re telling you today I had a fact since this is hunting season here in Colorado I had a man say to me one time and he he wanted to go up and hunt elk. He said you know Darren it would be easier for me to believe if I would pray and God would bring that great big trophy elk out in that clearing and I’d have a good shot at it. He said now that you know he was saying if I could see I would believe what I’m telling you today folks is seeing is not necessarily your key to believing we have people come to the meetings they see mighty miracles there they don’t always believe they don’t always return. That’s right. That’s not necessarily a boost to their faith believing the word of God is your key to believing that’s so it’s not by seeing folks it’s not by experiencing in the flesh in the senses is by saying I choose to be a believer in what the word says that’s going to be my proof. Well and father God here says when he says this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Oh praise God what what a phrase I pray Darren that when we stand before father God as his children that he says well done that that good and faithful servant but the next thing he says here is listen to him. Exactly. He wants us to listen to him with spirit eyes and spirit ears not the ears that we have on our heads physically but the ears that Paul was talking about in Ephesians 1 I pray that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened. That’s the kind of spirit ears that he wants us to hear with. I couldn’t agree more and I’ll tell you if you look at the very last chapter of the book of Luke it says that he gave them like I’m going to find it here to read it but he gave them the ability to understand and God does give that to us today if we have a propensity. Let me say it in very plain language if we have made a decision to understand the word of God declare truth in our lives that I’m telling you will give you the ability to understand God’s word yes that’s right and Holy spirit will come along and I mean he will do that for you he will just show you if we can get people’s confessions turn around say I can’t understand the word to God is helping me to understand his rainbow word when I read the logos of the Bible. Then we know that they’re on their way they really truly are they are on their way yes they are eyes were opened and they recognized him you know many times if we just let God open our eyes you’ll do it but you know Barb that ties in with several times what it says in book of Revelation he who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches. Now if you have an ear folks and you really have an honest heart before God you say I really want to know you I want to know you you really are not as I maybe I don’t think you’re the right you know I don’t have the right idea or the right image of who you are I want to know who you really are according to your word. So you can speak to me and I will do my best to not filter it out not to change it by my preconceived ideas or perceptions I just want to know who you are really know who you are well he will meet you in that basis and he’ll begin to tell you that because he will open up your heart to understand and I I think that’s that that’s just wonderful but when I read this tragic story of Peter and here he was with Jesus really seeing us such a spirit. Such a spiritual transaction going on here here’s Moses and Elijah and Jesus standing on the mount as we call it the mount of transfer duration he sees this he responds to it through his senses he says I’m ready to build temples you know let’s build a temple here let’s build a tabloid I should say tabernacle let’s build a tabernacle here Jesus one for you one for Moses one for Elijah and in the Old Testament we see that tabernacle was the booths that they raised to build they were made up of palms and different bread. And different branches but he was trying he was trying to bring respect to the occasion but he missed it well he was also trying to make something that was very spiritual physical and sometimes darren we find people that are trying to take spiritual food that we get from God and trying to demean it almost in making it physical and that’s what Peter did here he wasn’t looking into this great spiritual experience he was trying to bring it down into his physical level and darren we have to we have to cross that when we’re going to worship God truly worship God we have to worship him in spirit and truth we have to discontinue worshiping in the way we did in denominational churches and that kind of thing and we have got to start worshiping him in spirit and ask him if we can actually father God help me to see you in spirit help me to begin to recognize things in this word as not just words anymore but rama coming to me as inspiration over and over again because here darren Jesus in chapter in verse 9 says tell the vision to no one now here we see that Jesus called this experience a vision now many people have seen said I’ve never seen an angel I’ve never seen well you’re looking with your physical eyes and darren so many times you’ve told people hey there angels all over here we’ve got to start seeing with our spiritual eyes things that are happening not with our physical eyes anymore well I would say this to do that barbie really have to have a spiritual identity you have to start over because we’ve been raised I’ve said this lots of times but as a public school educator we taught the children through their five senses and most of you out there today even if you went to a quote unquote Christian colleges I did I got my my bachelor’s degree from a very wonderful Christian college Seattle Pacific University in Seattle and then I went on to a state school to get my master’s degree and I received a high school diploma in a state run institution I should say just to public school well we were all taught through the five senses well and you got those degrees for physical performance exactly and they taught us by through a process called accumulated knowledge the longest state in school supposedly the more knowledge or information or facts or whatever that you would have and really you know what you had to do you had to learn what your professor wanted and kind of bow down to what you wanted and if he wanted just little facts and figures you could learn what this professor wanted and be a very good student and that’s the key to getting a good grade and that’s the key to looking good on your transcript what does that have to do with the spiritual aspects very little now let me say this to you God does it another way he has what he calls instead of accumulated knowledge he has a revelation knowledge he wants to move from his heart to your heart or from his spirit to your spirit and you receive that by revelation knowledge and that that burst of understanding is going to come from the inside of you because God is going to move from his heart to your heart strictly in the spirit then it’s going to move from your heart to your mind we’re going to be talking about that in a sense tomorrow evening some of you are trying to figure out everything your spiritual walk with the Lord your business aspects and whatever you could sit down with God and you pray in the spirit for a few minutes he’ll give you a burst of revelation that will bless your business may save your business may keep you out of bankruptcy may keep you out of total loss and despair yes but the only way you can do that I believe and I know that I say you say now Darren are you really mean the only way you can do that probably I think after looking at business problems over the years and so on watching people go out and they say well I’ve got an MBA I’ve got a masters and business administration well okay and some of those bar most educated have been the biggest flops because they’re still trying to do it by the number by cranking it out by grinding it out by doing it all mentally and God has an answer he can give that to you in a heartbeat I mean he can give that to you in a quicker than a snap of your fingers but it’s going to come by revelation and God is the greatest business man we could say it that way the greatest salesperson in fact there’s a book written by Aug Mandeeno that I like the greatest sales when they ever live and it’s talking about Jesus well we need to find out what is this process of really agreeing with and getting into the spirit and getting answers all the information is out there in the spirit world if we can just access that and we do that by letting Holy Spirit speak those answers into our hearts that’s not through accumulated knowledge it doesn’t come through our senses it comes from God right to our hearts we can show you how to tap into that and get into that flow when we agree when we agree in spirit with God he is the creator of all boy we’re agreeing with a pretty power we’re tapping into something that’s right we sure are praise God so Jesus told them that here this experience had been a vision what you need to ask God is father God help me to get into the spirit so that what I see with my spiritual eyes it may be a vision to some people but what it is is what Darren was just talking about revelation knowledge that comes to your heart and you know without a shadow of now he’s going to help and deliver you out of what you’re trying to escape or either he’s going to try to teach you things to take you on to into a higher plane and that’s exactly what we want for you we want you to get better and better and better and not bitter be it TTR and many of you in your anxiety and you’re trying and trying and trying to get into a higher plane on your own strength you have become bitter and resentful and we want you to get better and that’s the only way I see Darren is to really ask God for revelation knowledge in the spirit that’s one of the spirits in Isaiah 11 to you got to know Holy Spirit oh you sure do you say there with you also I’ll tell you he is so wonderful you know I’ve seen people barbed that tried to do it through the occult I met a man that had been very successful in Hollywood made a lot of movies and all the kind of stuff and then he had lost all his money somehow and he says now here’s the way I’m going to get back and he said this in so many words I’m shortening his story and he said you know I am going to get so far through so many levels in the occult that I can go through walls that I can solve crimes and I’m going to collect those large amounts of money that they’re promising for anybody can bring so and so to justice he said there’s a reward of several million dollars I’m going to do that through the occult world I’m going to step into the occult and I’m going to have more and more power and I’m going to become more and more powerful and I will be able to go through walls now he didn’t say it was like Jesus that’s what Jesus did because he was a master in the spirit world I mean by that I mean he was the master and he could be transferred and moved back and forth from the spirit to the natural and after he’s transferred your age and after his life after his death he came back and he did go through walls and appeared to the disciples well this man’s not going to be able to never do that through the occult you know he was awesomely deceived well Satan loves to use us up you I remember our friend Valerie that says you know I was in love with drugs I took him every day of my young life and I thought I was really a smart kid but I loved something that didn’t love me back that could never love me back and these young people get involved in things that they absolutely love and old people well and old people too they absolutely love and they think it’s the key and it will not ever help them or benefit them in any way Amen well a strange story here in this Matthew 17 is a story about the demoniac and did you not want to go into that today you look stricken what’s the matter you got some more you want to give here when I see this look on my wife’s face I boy I slam on the brakes and matter where we are I was thinking we could go into that tomorrow you want to do that tomorrow there’s a lot there I agree I just wanted to use an example a letter from a power partner of ours Darren and she’s a precious lady and she said you know I’ve got two choices here I can either ask God for a new back or I can ask him for a new job okay and that’s where some of you are you’re between a rock and a hard place right now and she said I work 10 hours a day on my feet with a 20 minute break for lunch she’s almost 70 years old now I believe she could have a new back I’ve seen creative miracles I’ve seen them on the MRIs so I know God is able to do that supernaturally but this lady she needs to ask God for some revelation knowledge because she’s almost 70 years old and God doesn’t want her standing on her feet for 10 hours a day with a 20 minute lunch give me those two options again she said I can do what I can either get a new job or new back okay now folks I’m going to say this and bless sister ladies hard I don’t know who she is and she was here I’d be loving on it but see those two questions come out of the natural that comes out of reason while I sit down I get a figure this out now some’s got to give you are between rock and hard place and that’s kind of the way the the transition goes I’m between rock and hard place either I’ve got to get a new back so I can keep this job or I’ve got go get a new job but I don’t know about getting a new job who would hire somebody I don’t know she thinks this way but I’m sure she does I’m almost 70 years old who wants an old lady like me and they probably wouldn’t hire me anyway so fear enters fear is the reason it is and here we are we’re doing the spiral we’re going round round the same mountain and it doesn’t get any better the next day and I’ve been there I’ve worked some of these union jobs you punch in and you work your fanny off for the next eight or 10 hours you go home exhausted yes and you get up the next day and you go do it again it’s called doing the loop and now you may not be doing that hard to work physically maybe you’re at a computer screen eight or 10 hours a day and you’re saying man I get carpal tunnel night on my arms my eyeballs about ready to fall out of my head what am I going to do I just can’t seem to figure this out well that means there in reason you see God has an answer for this and I’ll tell you folks I do not see how you can make it through life without miracles you got to tap into God’s miracle power to get into the kingdom of God or you’re going to be punching in every day working yourself crazy punching out at night driving through all the traffic getting home flopping in some of you’re so tired you can’t even get undressed to go to bed I know I’ve been there you come home so dog tired that you fall down across the bed and you’re too tired even take a shower and get your clothes off and then after a while and maybe it’s morning you wake up and you still got the clothes on you had on the day before and you didn’t get complete rest but you got to go do the routine as one friend of mine said now this guy’s a CPA he said Darren I had to do the drill man I’m doing the drill well he was trying to find some some satisfaction in that and there isn’t any well and you know our young bodies when we’re young they can handle it for a while but Darren pretty soon those decades go by and your body is not as young as it used to be and those muscles aren’t as flexible as they used to be and so you’ve given your life to accompany that basically just throws you out when you hit 65 or 70 why don’t you ask God in his wisdom to lead you to a job where you can have some vitality and life left over after you leave the job something left over for you for you that’s what I mean something left over for you and the Lord some of you are not going to get off that crazy loop you’re on without a miracle I mean you know it’s like that song said one time many years ago stop the world I want to get off some of you feel that way you’ve been doing that loop Monday through Friday you know you punch in and you just work you’re working crazy or somebody working two or three jobs I do not believe that’s God’s best for you thank you for listening to Call to
