And I talked to a neighbor yesterday and she said, Kim, thank you so much for having the Douglas County election. Candidates signed in your yard because that really helped me figure out who to vote for. And I will get that for you in just a second. I can’t see it all. I think I have it memorized, but not quite sure. So I think it’s Gamble, Kramer, Smith and Vail. is who I am recommending that you vote for, for Douglas County School Board. These races are so important. But transformcolorado.org sent out surveys to most all of the school districts out there. And it’s very telling if some of the candidates did not answer the question. And that should help you immensely on your particular school district. And again, that is transformcolorado.org. Something’s a good idea. You should not have to use force to implement it. And it’s never compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood. opportunity, childhoods, or lives via force. And force can obviously be a weapon, but it can be policy and unpredictable and excessive taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the World Economic Forum agenda and globalist elites agenda that plays out at the United Nations, this Colorado state legislature with this Colorado governor and all of his bureaucrats. um land use codes zoning regulations comprehensive plans for cities and counties and so it is everywhere one other thing i did want to mention is i am recommending a no vote on these if you live in the south metro fire protection area now we certainly appreciate our firefighters But I think that from what I can see, and I have not done analysis, I reached out to a friend of mine to see if he’d done analysis on revenue. But first and foremost, at the very end of the ballot question, they are asking to de-tabor or de-Bruce. And Bruce, Douglas Bruce was the de-tabor. the driving force behind getting TABOR, Colorado’s Taxpayers Bill of Rights, passed by the people of Colorado and put into the Colorado Constitution as an amendment. So as you’ve seen PBIs on both sides of the aisle, and that’s politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties, that have been trying to do runarounds, TABOR, ever since it was signed. And one of the things, and I did not realize this was happening, so with TABOR, Colorado’s Taxpayers Bill of Rights, It’s really about three things. It’s if PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties want to raise our taxes, they have to ask us. Number two, and we vote on it. Number two, if they’re going to incur debt that we, the people, have to pay off, they just have to ask us. And this is the case with the, air quotes, vibrant Denver bonds, is Mike Johnston, mayor of Denver wants to extend bonds that would be paid off. And in extending that, it’s a tax increase. That is why it is on your ballot. And we are recommending a no vote on that, no new debt on that. He wants to extend that debt. And we would really end the pay the. probably the payback is double what they’re asking for. Just think if everyday people had more money in their own pocket. And if they say no to that Vibrant Denver Bond Package, then people’s property taxes will go down in Denver. So we are highly recommending a no on that. But anyway, back to South Metro Fire protection is, oh, the third thing is if a governmental entity collects more in taxes than a very generous formula of inflation plus population growth, they have to return the money back to we the people. And I hadn’t understood this. Somebody said, oh, that bond package was debruised. And I didn’t understand. And what it is, is they sneak language in there. They say, for example… South Metro Fire says we want to raise taxes $50 million annually. And maybe people can make the case yes or no on that. But at the very end of the ballot question, they are asking to keep all of the revenue or excess revenue, excess taxes that they’ve collected. And I think that’s pretty greedy. So when you have PBIs say that it’s the everyday business person that’s greedy, the employer, the business owner, ah, wait a minute, I think that it’s actually government. And the thing with government is it has force behind it. If you don’t pay your taxes, find out what’s going to happen. And Jenny had texted me this. I need to find that. She said, when you talk about LL and MM, so those are the two statewide questions. And I have this again in air quotes. It’s healthy school meals for all children. It’s actually probably a lot of it is padding the pockets of bureaucrats. Maybe there will be some school lunches for kids. But she says, when you talk about LL and MM, mentioned that if you vote no, you will get a refund. If you vote yes, you might as well throw your money in the garbage because that’s where the amount of food thrown out is ending up. And she brings up a really interesting point. And when I was a kid, we had an option. We could have a school lunch, we could bring our lunch, or we could go home for lunch. And I would go home for lunch quite often. I would run as fast as I could to get home and then run as fast as I could to get back. Hardly ever packed lunch, but I hated school lunch. And a lot of that food ended up in the garbage. And also, I don’t think that it’s the proper role of government to be providing lunches for everyone either. And there’s already programs that are providing lunches, and there’s the National School Lunch Program. So this is LL and MM is just really another tax increase. They’re trying to couch it in envy, saying that it’ll only be people that make more than $300,000 or more that will have to pay that tax. But as we’ve seen from experience, government programs typically do not run efficiently. They’re filled with bureaucrats who make their make their livings off of our tax dollars. And I would highly recommend a no vote on that. Okay, let’s get to the next thing here, and that is our word of the day. And our word is truncated. It’s T-R-U-N-C-A-T-E-D. And number one definition could be having the apex cut off and replaced by a plane, especially one parallel to the base, used of a cone or a pyramid. Okay, number two, lacking one or more syllables, especially in the final foot. It says cataleptic. That’s probably another word that I need to use for Word of the Day. It could be shortened or reduced. And their example was a truncated version of the story. So truncated is our Word of the Day. It’s T-R-U-N-C-A-T-E-D. You should be able to use that in a sentence today. Impress your friends and family with your expanding vocabulary. And our quote of the day, I went to, I was looking for education quotes because we’re going to be talking with Rachel O’Brien with Open the Books as our featured guest in hour number two. And they have done an amazing analysis at Open the Books regarding pedagogy. public education and public funding or public school funding. So I thought, OK, I’ll look for an education quote. So I found this from John Adams. He said this was in the defense of the Constitution, 1787. And he said, well, and John Adams was born in 1735. He died July 4, 1826, 50 years to the day. after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, he and Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson, died on the same day. Do you not think that God has his hand on history? That’s why we have to take such great heart in this time that we’re in. It is. I really think it’s our third founding of our country. And when we talk with Kevin Lundberg, very serious subject regarding Obama and messing with our elections. So we’ll talk with him in just a moment. But John Adams was a founding father, the second president of the United States. He was a leader in the American Revolution. And during the latter part of the Revolutionary War and the early years of the new nation, he served in the Continental Congress as a senior diplomat in Europe. Adams was the first person to hold the office of Vice President of the United States, and he was a dedicated diarist and regularly corresponded with important contemporaries, including his wife and advisor, Abigail Adams, and his friend and rival, Thomas Jefferson. So Adams and Jefferson went through a period where they didn’t like each other very much. But the story is that as Adams was on his deathbed and as he knew he was dying, some of his final words were, Jefferson lives, unbeknownst to him that Jefferson died the same day. But this is what John Adams said regarding education. He said, children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom. And that is that’s not happening in a number of our schools. In fact, let’s see if I can find this headline regarding education. I now have so many things on this headlines, but basically it says that many children are in public school now are being trained to be activists and in some cases violent activists. And we’ve got to get that turned around. One other thing that I thought, this headline was just shocking to me. There is a big race for governor in Virginia between Winsome Sears and I’m not quite sure who the other person is. But anyway, Winsome Sears is a conservative. She’s the lieutenant governor in Virginia, and she immigrated from Jamaica and And this is from Fox News. It says man who went viral for heckling Winston Sears with racist comment was dealt another blow after getting fired, says the Fairfax County Police Department said the claims of harassment did not warrant a criminal investigation. And this is just so interesting. So this is a man who went viral during a college football game earlier this month, subsequently filed a police report claiming he was getting harassed after the incident went viral. It says the Fairfax County Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that it was aware of the police report that was filed and that ultimately the department’s threat assessment unit found that the information provided did not meet the criteria for a criminal investigation. Go back to Haiti, the man from the viral video yelled at Sears, a Republican, during a James Madison University football game earlier this month. Traitor, he yelled out. Well, after the incident, since Sears clarified on social media that she is an immigrant from Jamaica, not Haiti. And then she said, I thought Democrats were supposed to love everyone. She was quipped at the time. Now, again, I always want to make a distinction. These radical activist Democrats that are doing this kind of stuff are not the Democrats of JFK or your grandpa and your grandma. They are radical activists, and most of them are supporting policies to destroy America. And so anyway, the man identified by local news reports as Scott Pogorelk looks like from Centerville, Virginia, was also reportedly fired by his employer, a subsidiary of government contractor Lockheed Martin. It says a JMU football player by the same last name is a red shirt senior on the Duke’s offensive line. I don’t know why they put that in there. I probably should have read that. Anyway, it says we hold all our employees and subsidiaries to the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct. Any behavior that violates our code of ethics will be thoroughly investigated and employees found in violation will be held accountable. SETA associates investigated the matter, and the individual is no longer employed, said a statement from a Lockheed Martin spokesperson, according to Fox 5 DC reporter Allison Papsom. So anyway, I found that so interesting and really such bad manners. We got to get back to some good manners, I think, in America. And your Lumberg Report, which you publish on Saturdays at KevinLumberg.com, and you just click on the button for the report, is really informative. But you had something in there that kind of stopped me in my tracks, and I’ve seen a little bit about this. But this was a post regarding Caroline Leavitt saying, and something that she said at a press conference regarding Obama. It’s just shocking to me. So break this down for us.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, it might be shocking in one level because it was actually mentioned at such an official point. I mean, it was Caroline Levitt, the press secretary for the president, in the press room reporting to the press, talking about Obama. what evidence the FBI did the initial investigation, but then the Department of Justice was taking it up, that President Obama, after the election in 2016, did everything he could to frustrate And I’m using a very gentle term. Forgive me, I don’t have it right in front of me here. But to frustrate the efforts of… of Trump in establishing his campaign, not campaign, but his administration. You know, we’re used to the fact that during a campaign, you’ll hear a lot of charges going back and forth and things that, you know, that sounds somewhat outrageous sometimes. But then after the election, when the dust has settled, then the outgoing president will turns over the reins to the incoming presidents, and there’s a peaceful transition of power between those two. Well, that’s the lip service that Obama gave. But in fact, they did everything they could to undermine the incoming president, Trump, Again, this is back in, well, technically 2017, after the last few weeks of 2016 and 2017 after the election. And this information really, according to the report that Carolyn Lovett gave, rises to the point of, I didn’t use the word treason, but To the point of illegality, I’ll simply put it that way.
SPEAKER 19 :
Yeah, I think she called it. This is pretty strong words. She said he was part of a seditious conspiracy.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yeah, that’s that’s pretty significant. Now, again, you hear a lot of rhetoric that flies back and forth during campaigns. And we’ve seen a lot of evidence of something like that happening. But for it to be stated in the context that it was. means they’re pretty serious about this and I wanted to give my readers a heads up that because I’ve heard a lot of people I was in an event over in Summit County last night and somebody was complaining about the Secretary of Education just wasn’t moving fast enough to make changes and I You know, we’ve got a lot of problems in education here in Colorado. You were even making some reference to that earlier in the program. And this person was just really frustrated that they weren’t doing enough to try to correct some of the significant problems we have here in Colorado in our education system. But if you look at it from the angle of being in that seat of power, It’s really difficult to get everything in order if you’re going to officially, especially if you’re going to turn it over to the Department of Justice. They want to have all the information available, and it needs to be rock-solid evidence that an actual crime has been committed. Well, that’s what this report was stating. Mm-hmm. one reason i i put it in my because i don’t try to just repeat news that everybody’s heard i i try to put in things that that i believe are accurate but got ignored by the press and that’s really what happened here and and i didn’t put a lot of comment on it because i just wanted to stand on its own but i do urge people to go back to the newsletter that I published, which, again, is right on my website, KevinLundberg.com. Click on Lundberg Report. You’re right there. And all the way at past editions or, you know, recent past editions are there if you just scroll down. But this one needs to stand on its own, and people need to listen to this and pay attention to it and keep your eyes open as to what’s happening next. It’s not a call to any action of any sort. That’s in the official – duties of the administration, most particularly at this point, the Department of Justice. But these are serious, serious charges against a president of the United States not willingly turning power over to the next guy.

Yes. And so this is going to get very interesting. And I’m wondering, Kevin Lundberg, as we have seen all of this coverage regarding and getting people pretty whipped up regarding Trump and he demolishing the East Wing and. putting in a big ballroom, and CNN had been reporting on it a lot, and people really, I think some people have really reacted to it. I am wondering what is going to happen as the… more information comes out regarding Obama and company on this, because there will be those that, well, I think that may be why they’re trying to whip up more, or it appears like the No Kings Day, and just trying to whip people up a lot more. And so I want to take their focus off of these kinds of reports. So I think, you know what, we’re just about to break. So I think I’ll pose that question. Let’s go to a break and then let Kevin respond to that. What we may be seeing here in America in light of this really amazing press conference. And he had something that he published which took my breath away. And this was regarding a press conference by United States Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, where she said, now nearly 10 years later, thanks to the declassification of documents by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, the truth has finally come to light and vindicates President Trump and his family. Barack Hussein Obama attempted to overthrow the Constitutional Republic of the United States in 2016 as part of a seditious conspiracy, overthrew it in 2020 to cover it up, and now he’s been caught. This takes my breath away. She’s not going to say things like this unless they’ve got some real solid proof, Kevin Lundberg. And what I’m concerned about is that the radical activist left is ramping up distractions to try to discount this. And so what do you what do you see about what do you think about that?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, obviously, they’re going to try to do that. And the first step, I think we can see quite a bit, and that is this incredible story is not really treated as an important story. And, of course, as I said at the beginning, it doesn’t really surprise me that all this occurred because you could see it. It’s just that you needed the evidence for it to be there. And let me point out another thing. It’s fascinating. Yes, I’d forgotten that Tulsi Gabbard’s organizational… efforts there um were an important part of that you know back in 2016 she was a democrat in and i think she was in congress at that point or or um maybe she hadn’t gotten there quite then i don’t know but around there and um and here she is uncovering the truth because she’s really fearlessly doing this well let me take you back in history a little bit because there was another um It’s a thing that was treated as sort of a very similar scandal. Only my point I’m going to make is that it wasn’t that big a deal compared to what we’re talking about here. And that’s that’s back in the days of Richard Nixon and the scandals called Watergate. And it’s so significant that anything that’s a scandal is now something gate. Why? Well, because Watergate was treated that seriously and it took down the presidency for Richard M. Nixon. What was it? It was. An illegal action taken on the part of some of Nixon’s operatives, and they broke into an office in the Watergate, which is a big building in Washington, D.C., into the Democrat headquarters and rifled through some of their stuff and sold some of their information during campaign. And that’s it. Now, then after that, they tried to cover it up, and so that became part of the story as well. But that’s it. It wasn’t an attempt to overthrow the legal and proper transfer of power from one president to the next. um it it was a dirty deed and you know a lot of the people who were involved in that admitted it later and many went to prison over it um but what we see right now is no outrage no no concern um however i’ll also say this the wheels of justice turn very slowly yes they do so We will see what comes of all this. I tried not to make much comment on it in my report, just to direct people. Admittedly, it was a direction to an ex-post, which you have to always take that with a grain of salt, except for the fact that that the actual video of this press conference is within that. Scroll down just a little bit, and there is Carolyn Leavitt speaking these words, and no one has said, no, no, that didn’t happen. No, it happened, and this report was given, and as you read it, that’s accurately what was said, and I think we’re going to see some significant things come out of it. How far it goes, I don’t know. But I hope it goes far enough that people recognize that there is some real truth in what occurred, truth on the reports. In other words, they’re accurate. And this should never happen again. And as a point of reference, when Trump was, you know, We’ll not talk about the election itself, but when Trump was exchanging power to the Biden administration, he cooperated. He did that. You know, I mean, there’s so much… discussion about January 6th and how, yeah, he wasn’t going to do that. Well, he did, though. This is the point. And there’s no evidence that he tried to undermine the Biden administration. Yeah, he tried to point out the deficiencies, but But as far as that mechanism of exchanging power, of handing things off to the next administration, that occurred.

So this came in on the text line. Thank you, Yvonne. And that is Obamagate. That’s what we may be looking at here now is Obamagate. You probably heard it first here. And thank you for Yvonne on that. So there’s another reference in here that I wanted to connect the dots. And this is from this ex post that you have at. KevinLumberg.com, and it’s in this week’s Lumberg Report, so people can go and click on that. And as you mentioned, the video of Caroline Levitt is in there as well. But it says, and Perkins Coy, including Mark Elias, manufactured the Russian collusion conspiracy hoax, a seditious conspiracy with the sole intent to topple the United States government during the 2016 presidential election, and Christopher Wray. There is a dot that somebody had mentioned this to me, and I had tried to source it, and this was a while back, and I hadn’t found anything. And then Ash Epp had published this at the Rocky Mountain Voice. It says shake up at the Colorado Department of State. Excuse me. The secretary of state’s office is a Perkins Coie alumni who’s now running Colorado’s elections. So Ash goes on to say this. And this was published back in. Hold on here. March, March 27th, 2025. And I only just found this this morning when I was looking for it. But someone had told me that Christopher Beale. who had been the Deputy Secretary of State, had left the office and that, I think it’s a guy named Andrew Klein with Perkins Coie, had taken his place. And so, Kevin, I had gone on the Secretary of State’s website and I was trying to find Andrew Klein’s name. I couldn’t find it, couldn’t find it. And but anyway, this is a very interesting what Ash had to say. She said, and again, this was back in March, says on Wednesday, the secretary of state issued a much anticipated response to President Trump’s election integrity executive order. And then it has her response on that. It says Jenna hasn’t posted on X since November and the department has been quiet. Hence the much anticipated billing. The release fell flat, but the header information is news. The deputy secretary of state is listed as Andrew Klein, and Ash asks what happened to Christopher Beale. And so that was good sleuthing on her part to notice that, and that was on that news release. She says there’s been no official announcement that former deputy secretary Christopher Beale had left the department, and she says that it is an explosive development. So I think this is really huge to connect the dot that the law firm that worked closely with Obama, now one of their guys is the Deputy Secretary of State here in Colorado. And my ear to the ground regarding Christopher Beal was that he was really the one that was running the Secretary of State’s office, not Jenna Griswold, and that he… I’ll leave it at that. I’ll just leave it at that. Your comments on that, Kevin.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, let me say this. That is often the case. I ran for Colorado State Treasurer back in 2018, and one of the things I did was my research on how that office was run. And the treasurer… It really doesn’t do a lot of work in their office. Yeah, they ultimately are the ones who hold the power and official control, but it’s generally somebody behind the scenes who is responsible running the shop basically and that’s where the real mechanisms happen you know that’s where you hire and fire people and you direct them to do this or that and doesn’t surprise me at all that that is a very possibly what’s happening in the secretary of state’s office as well some of it’s inevitable because they’ve got a lot of responsibilities but um oftentimes it becomes sort of a I don’t want to say a figurehead who’s elected, but on a day-to-day basis, it can easily become that, especially if you have some agendas, you might say. You know, I’m not trying to complain that the elected officials… Representatives. yeah well that that they hire people because that is their job but you do have to kind of look deep under the covers to figure out who’s really in charge of what and oftentimes especially when the you know the higher levels of government there are a lot of levers that can be moved this way or that way to influence a lot of other people and and Sometimes the bureaucracy is more at fault than the actual, you know, person that we thought we elected to to run the show now i’m not going to hold jenna griswold um harmless on all of this because she’s been so public and up front on everything that anything that happened in her office she needs to be responsible for and if there are other people that are as well then they need to stand beside her in that responsibility OK, it’s it’s part of a very deep web that’s kind of unraveling very slowly. And, you know, you might even use this as a gauge if the press doesn’t want to pay attention to it. Maybe there’s more there than we think.

Well, and one of our listeners texted me at 720-605-0647. They asked what the date was for that press conference. When you go to KevinLumberg.com, click on the Lumberg Report, then he has the link to this X post. And it does have Caroline Lovett, her press conference. It says last edited on October 19, 2025. I’m not sure that that was it. I just tried to do a quick search on it, and of course…

Yeah, yeah. I couldn’t find that. I don’t remember directly either, but it was very recent that all that occurred. It wasn’t a, you know, that’s another thing you have to pay attention to is, is this old news or new news? Yeah. Yeah.

So this is new. And you know what? I’ve gotten burned on that before when something’s been posted and I’m thinking it’s new news because it just was posted. But sometimes they dredge up some of this old stuff as well. And so you really do have to look at the… the dates on those press conferences. We’re going to continue the discussion with Kevin Lundberg. And again, I’d highly recommend that you add the Lundberg report into your repertoire as a trusted source when you’re looking at what’s going on, not only in Colorado, but in the nation. Colorado is at the tip of the spear. And the fact that they have Andrew Klein now as the Deputy Secretary of State here in Colorado, Secretary of State’s office, handles our elections, I think is a key point. And he is a Perkins Coie alumni. That is a very important dot to connect. And so we will continue the discussion. But before we do that, I can’t believe that November is right around the corner. Okay, we’re talking about… election, we’re talking about this press conference by Caroline Levitt, basically accusing Obama of seditious conspiracy. And elections truly, truly matter. And you have highlighted this in your Lumberg report this last Saturday, that John Case, Tina Peter’s attorney, is calling for Colorado’s election equipment to be scrapped. That’s a pretty bold statement, Kevin Lumberg.
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, that’s quite true, and I know John quite well. He is one of his clients is Tina Peters, which he has tried to defend when she had her trial, and he continues to work on appeals and all the legal things there. He’s stayed pretty close to all this process, and He has come to the conclusion that the election process here in Colorado is not redeemable, that it’s a terrible example of how not to do elections and how to set up systems that are – that can – fraud can occur at so many levels. And, yeah, he came out with a pretty bold – that was published in the Rock and Roll The Voice this last week. And so I passed on the link to that, essentially, where he lays it out on the line. And he’s been doing a lot of research, a lot of on-the-ground research You know, checking into this and talking to other people. I know I helped him out on a press conference that we held last spring at the Capitol on this subject of the equipment, the election, the electronic equipment. There was several people studied it and came to the conclusion that this stuff is just fraught with problems. venezuelan election officials and this is where the basic software was first developed and they say straight up they say two things one if anybody knows who we are so they they remain anonymous but but nonetheless uh sworn statements that they’re speaking the truth we said our our our health and safety would be in jeopardy. You can understand that because they said this stuff was designed to cheat with. And it’s been done in multiple countries.
SPEAKER 19 :
So Kevin, there was a recent, something happened with Tina Peters’ case regarding there was some kind of hearing or something brought before the judge regarding Venezuela. I think Jenny had texted me on it. Are you familiar with what happened? I think it was within the last couple of weeks.
SPEAKER 07 :
I’m not sure I can give you an accurate information to know precisely here. Right now, they’ve been pursuing a couple of lines. One is to appeal to the governor to pardon Tina because there was such a miscarriage of justice with her actual court case. The Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Justice, is looking into this pretty deeply, too, by direction of the president. And the attorney general, Pam Bondi, issued a statement that said, you know, we’re looking closely. I think this is another one of those slow wheels of justice that’s moving. But it’s showing that there are a lot of things under the covers that need to be looked at. And anybody who is actively engaged in government or running for office here in Colorado who doesn’t understand this needs to do their homework or people need to question them more fully on why don’t you think Tina Peters is innocent of of what she’s been in prison for.
SPEAKER 19 :
So, Kevin, you were at the Northern Colorado GOP Governor’s Forum, and you presented, and I moderated that, and one of the questions that we asked was, if elected governor, would you pardon Tina Peters? And everybody but one of the candidates was an emphatic, yes, they would. I thought that was super interesting.
SPEAKER 07 :
Yes, it was. Yes, it was. And that one who I think we’re not naming at this moment, at least you’re not, is had better do her homework. Let me just put it that way. And you go look at the list and figure out who I’m talking about.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay, very sneaky there, Kevin Lundberg, very sneaky on that one. So John Case has called for the governor to scrap these machines. They’re not going to do that. How can we get some teeth behind it?
SPEAKER 07 :
Well, there is, out of our hands directly, and I think it is in the hands of the federal government, that needs to ensure that elections are held correctly. in a fair and accurate fashion. Yes, the state legislatures are charged with providing or determining the means and the place for elections, but the federal government needs to ensure that the people elected to Congress are done by the people, not by some shenanigans pulled off by some fraudulent activities. And there’s just too much evidence that that has increased greatly. And I’d say particularly here in Colorado. And Therefore, that’s where I’m waiting for more shoes to fall. And it’s going to have to happen quickly because elections are just right around the corner. Well, they are. And I really. Yeah.

Yeah, I was hoping that we would have had something done for this 2025 election, but that’s not the case. And the two lawsuits that our listeners raised the money for, those are working their way through the halls of justice as well. Kevin Lumberg, as always, I so appreciate it. And the example in this, again, these definitions are from the American Heritage Dictionary, said a truncated version of the story. So it would be a shortened version of the story. And they have done a really interesting analysis on results in public education and spending in public education. And so I thought, well, I’d like to do an education quote. So I went to John Adams, born in 1735, died in 1826. He was one of our founding fathers. He was also the second president of the United States. And this was something that he had written in defense of the Constitution in 1787. He said, children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom. So let’s think about that. In many of the classrooms now, children are being educated and instructed in transgenderism. And the founding fathers could never have believed what would be going on in public education these days. So again, John Adams said children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom. Next thing, well, first of all, thank you to all of your text messages. So I know I danced around who did not emphatically say yes that they would pardon Tina Peters if they were elected governor of Colorado. And I danced around who the one person was that did not emphatically say yes. She said it would be depending on the evidence. And, okay, I’ll say it was Barbara Kirkmeyer that said that. So that is the first thing. Let’s see, there was something else. Okay, Gammy had said, I had that question regarding the Venezuela hearing. And she said… Okay, it was an algorithmic theft of votes. The data was given to the DOJ, and the judge ruled that the data was not relevant to let Tina out on bond while appealing just a First Amendment situation. I just can’t believe what’s going on there. So thank you, Gammy, for keeping me in the loop. The loop on that. Let’s see. I named the name. Next thing here is this is from Sandra said regarding Tina Peters and her attorney, John Case. Case reported that there are two Venezuelan whistleblowers confessing to the rigged voting machines. So this is all really interesting information. The truth will come out. We’ll continue to search for that truth. So thank you for that on that as well. And then one other thing I wanted to just mention. Yesterday, Brandon Wark and I were talking about Hunger Free Colorado, which this organization, as Brandon had uncovered, well, he and I think it was others had uncovered that they had actually put money into the campaigns to get us to vote for LL and MM, which are those statewide issues. And so I did a little work. I went to the 990 of Hunger Free Colorado, and it said it has funded 144 grants to 74 recipients, received 329 grants from 102 grant makers. Then the next thing is I did find that the CEO was making a base salary of $130,000. Hold on here just a second. Oh, darn it. Here we go, 130,000 plus. And then the other thing, this is what I uncovered, this was shocking to me, is that they are spending big bucks on lobbying. You have to wonder, what is a nonprofit doing lobbying? And so it says, lobbying non-taxable amount for the years 2019 to 2022 was almost $1.8 million. I think you could probably put a lot of meals out there for $1.8 million. And that’s Hunger Free Colorado. And they are trying to get people to vote for LL and MM. And so, wow, that is something. So John Bozen is on the line. John is a great sponsor of the show. Oh, absolutely. And… The truth will eventually see the light of day. It just gets a little frustrating waiting sometimes, you know?
SPEAKER 19 :
It does, but that’s why we are doing this Monday through Friday every day. But over on your business, I’ve got a question. If somebody’s been injured in an accident due to someone else’s negligence or injured while working, they should call Bozen Law, but some people just say, well, why can’t they just work with an insurance adjuster? So what would you say to that?
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh my goodness. How much time do we have?
SPEAKER 19 :
We’re going to have to do a show on this probably.

The short and simple answer is insurance companies are in it to make money. Insurance adjusters are often incentivized, given bonuses, on their average claims. So if they can minimize claims… They’re going to do it because there’s incentive for them to do so. I want to say there’s some good insurance adjusters out there. I’ve met them. They want to do the right thing, but they are extremely rare. Insurance companies are in it to make money. And any opportunity most insurance adjusters or employers, if they’re self-insured, any opportunity they have to get a claim dismissed, That means the injured party gets nothing, or to minimize it or discount it, they’re going to take advantage of that. And insurance adjusters know how the game is played. It’s a very serious game, but they’re going to play it to win. And that simply means they’re going to do whatever they can to minimize what is paid out on a legitimate claim to an injured party.
SPEAKER 19 :

Oh, it’s a little bit better than good. It’s going to make all the difference for folks. And I tell folks, too… When I speak, when I talk with others, give me a phone call because that one phone call and the initial advice I give, even if we don’t go forward as a team and represent the injured party, is going to more often than not make all the difference. It will save folks from making horrendous mistakes on the front end of a claim. There’s so much advice. with that initial phone call, it’s all super important, critical advice. It’s somebody here. Or if a mother’s calling for a son or a daughter or a father’s calling or you’re calling for somebody else that can’t make that phone call, I’m going to talk to you and you’re going to relay that information to that person and it’s going to make the difference. Every week I talk to somebody that… You know, let their claim go on without competent, aggressive representation for a year, year and a half. And I just kind of roll my eyes when I start the conversation because I know they’re going to have made mistakes because they don’t know.

And that’s what we always see is when the school districts are asking for more money, they’re saying that if they have more money, that we’re going to get better performance. But you’ve uncovered that’s not the case many times.

Right. They say this like it’s magic. Just give us more money. And we looked at the data and we found, unfortunately, that’s not the case. There’s always that assumption that more funding means better student outcomes. So we reviewed, we had opened the books, we reviewed thousands of school districts and we actually found that as pay for teachers and administrators increased, student test scores dropped. And so we calculated how much each state increased its total public school payroll between 2019 and 2023. And we compare that number to the change in each state’s ranking by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the NAEP. They measure reading and math schools for fourth and eighth graders. So, in layman’s terms, what happened is, you know, schools were increasing their payroll, we found. And the scores were simply not keeping pace in many cases. You know… There’s, there’s little to no correlation between an increase in spending, um, and how, how the schools did. I mean, we can look at your city of Denver. Um, so the rankings are obviously they’re relative to other cities or states. So if your city or state ranking goes up and others goes down, um, Denver, the, the fourth grade math score fell a few points between 19 and 23. The fourth grade media reading stayed just about the same. Eighth grade math scores also fell a few points and eighth grade reading is the only one that improved by a single point. Um, but the city actually improved its ranking. It was ranked eight in 2019 and it was ranked, uh, seven in 2024. Actually the rankings came out in 2024, um, Colorado, they were ranked five in 2024. That’s a huge jump from the nine. They were ranked in 2019. Um, And so when we looked at spending, especially the places where spending is very low, those are some of the places that are doing actually having some of the best grades come from their students. And we’re talking about these standardized tests. which are a debate in and of themselves, right? We hear from parents and teachers and students whether these standardized tests for 14th graders are good or not. But this is the data we have, right? This is what we have from the NAEP. You know, there were actually six states that increased their school payrolls by at least 23%. from 2019 to 2023, Virginia, Vermont, Oregon, Missouri, all saw their student performance decrease even after spending 23% more. New Mexico saw no change. Only Utah, which spent more than 23%, moved up slightly in the national assessment rankings. And so we saw the converse in many cases. We saw Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida. They had the second-best exam scores in 2024, while just spending $6,400 per student on payroll. That’s the fifth lowest. among the country’s 25 largest cities. There’s this list of 25 largest cities that NAEP puts out, and they sort of compare and contrast. Very low spending there. Same also in Florida, Hillborough County students. They had the fifth best exam scores, and the district only spent $5,300 on payroll per student, the second lowest in these cities. So we just found that there’s not much correlation based on how much you spend.
SPEAKER 19 :
So, and I think you highlighted Baltimore in here. I remember I had looked at Baltimore a few years ago because their results were terrible for their students. But they, at that time, were one of the top per pupil spending in the country. And I’m trying to find it in your piece here, which is at Open the Books. But, guys, do you remember what that amount is right there? Do you have that in front?
SPEAKER 04 :
Absolutely. Yeah, I’ll be happy to go over it. So, I mean, in 2019… Baltimore, comparing among the 25 largest cities, they were ranked 22, right? So almost right at the very bottom. By 2024, they had increased their salaries by 43%, but the student exam stores still ranked 22nd. Now, the problem that we’re seeing that we’re attributing to or likely attributing this problem to is administrative bloat. We’re not suggesting that increasing teacher pay causes students to do poorly. We’re not talking about causation, right? There is a correlation in the spending going up. Studies have actually found that the relationship between increased spending for teachers and student outcome is minimal. So it is minimal, but it’s minimally in the positive direction, not the negative direction that we’re seeing. What we are seeing is administrative pay has continued to climb, not only for individual administrators, but the number of administrators. So we call this administrative bloat. The number of non-teaching staff in U.S. schools have increased by over 700% since the 1950s. While if you look at… And then in more modern days, from 2010 to 2022, it rose by another 41%, but teachers’ employment only rose by 10%. So they’re hiring many, many more administrators, and they’re paying them very well. So we found over 8,800 public school employers across the country. They earn salaries of at least $200,000. California has over 2,700. New York has over 1,500. But California students ranked 43rd. New York students ranked 31st. Very highly paid. So Baltimore, you asked about Baltimore. They have the same problem there with administrative bloat. Less than half of the 13,000 employees on Baltimore City Schools payroll are listed as teachers or principals. That means the other half. Now there’s some janitors and support staff and things like that. There’s a striking number of these sort of new nebulous roles. Including people with the same job, we found the senior executive director of equity makes $215,000. There’s also a director of equity, a director of equity-centered principal development. There’s five educational specialists of equity and a staff associate of equity. Those aren’t teachers. They’re not affecting change in the classroom, right? you have the school district also has two directors of environmental health. They’re each earning over 160,000. They have a senior project manager for environmental compliance, a supervisor for environmental compliance, and it goes on and on with these roles. Um, they’re not teaching students, right? They’re not teaching students how to read or how to write. Um, and then staff benefits, staff benefits aren’t even included in our payroll figures, but they’re a huge part of the, of the school spending. Um, Per pupil spending in the US increased by about 21% from 2002 to 2019 but 64% of that was used to pay benefits. So this all comes down to the importance of analyzing not how much is spent per student, but on what.
SPEAKER 19 :
Well, yeah. And so looking at that, you said per pupil spending is $12,520. So let’s figure just a class of 20, which many times classes are bigger than that. But that means that there’s $250,000 floating around for those 20 students. And we know that the teachers are not getting paid. the bulk of that pay. And so I think it’s important that we ask that question. So if, in fact, it’s a class of 30, well, that gets you up to, what, 125, 250, so 375,000. per class of 30 and and so we’re not getting our money’s worth this is this is groundbreaking what you’ve done on this uh at open the books on this rachel o’brien we’re going to continue the discussion we have these discussions because of our sponsors and uh for every i so appreciate the second syndicate for the work that they’re doing to bring voices together to protect our second amendment which will help make our communities and our schools safer

She’s the Deputy Policy Director at Open the Books about just an amazing report that they have released regarding… results of education of our kids learning how to rewrite and do arithmetic, and school funding. Rachel O’Brien, another school district that you talked about in the piece is the Portland Public Schools, which is Maine’s largest school district. So tell us a little bit about that.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah, that was exactly Maine’s largest school district. Still pretty small compared to some other school districts in major cities, right? In 2023, the school district paid six-figure salaries to 30 people. But just one year later, 137 people made six figures. Wow. only 60 of them were teachers, right? So this goes back to the administrative bloat. The others were mostly principals or administrators, like the executive director of equity and belonging and the director of social and emotional learning, many of whom get large raises, more than $10,000 every single year, certainly far more than teachers get. So we see this a lot, right? We talked about this increase in administrators and i think it’s the number of 700 percent um the number of administrators increased by 700 since the 50s um while teachers is something far lower like you know 200 percent and so this is the problem we’re seeing um when you go from city to city to city um uh we talked about baltimore if you also look in maryland They made historic investments in education. They have a 10-year, $30 billion, they call it blueprint for Maryland’s future. But the plan that has put such a strain on city and county finances that, you know, a local legislator there, Justice Sanko, he recently called it the blueprint to bankrupt Maryland’s future. And, of course, student improvement has yet to improve, even student test, rather, test scores have yet to improve, even with this large investment. Right. In fact, since the bill was first discussed in 2019, they’re in the midst of, you know, spending this money. Maryland’s ranking on these exams have actually dropped eight spots. And so, you know, we see it time and time again, unfortunately, where the investments that are being made are not the right investments, right? They’re not being invested properly. in the students, in teaching the students, and looking at, you know, going to the heart of the matter and why they’re not learning, right? We know COVID had really a very negative impact on students who were kicked out of schools for a long time. They had this delay. Once they got back, it took a while to get them back. We are, in terms of where they were before COVID closed schools, depending on which state they were in and how long they were out of school. And so that is also a curve that is sort of something that these students are fighting against to get back to where they started. And it doesn’t help adding more administrators. They don’t need an executive director of equity and belonging or a director of social and emotional learning. They need more teachers. They need better trained teachers. They need teachers who know how to reach them. And so we’re unfortunately probably going to continue seeing a lot of this. As I said, there is hope. We are seeing some, you know, of course, districts are improving. Denver, you know, they again, they improved their ranking number seven among the largest cities, 25 largest cities and a couple of schools in Florida. We mentioned the Miami-Dade and Hillsborough schools. They’re doing very well, spending very little. So there is some hope yet.
SPEAKER 19 :
So and this improvement, I do want to make sure that people understand that we have a long way to go. The results have been just pretty darn crummy. And I was trying to see if I could get to that. But we have school districts in Colorado where only 30 percent, sometimes less, sometimes a little bit more, I think one of the best school districts is 50 percent of kids are proficient. Right. So you’re telling me we spend all this money and we have kids. We have 70 percent of the kids cannot read and write and do arithmetic at grade level. There’s something wrong with this picture, Rachel O’Brien. So even if somebody has moved up, then we also have to look at what are the real results as well. So I know you’re doing the comparison of these different school districts, but it’s pretty dismal in a lot of these school districts throughout the country as far as kids learning how to read and write and do arithmetic.
SPEAKER 04 :
For sure, right. Yeah, this is not to say that we don’t have major problems. As you’re saying, you have less than half, in many cases, students who can read and write well. and do math at their grade level. Obviously, very, very big problem. So the improvements that are gained, those are small victories for those school districts, but a lot more needs to be done. If my child was in a school and he could not read and he could not write and he could not do math, and the rest of his class also couldn’t, you know, I would think long and hard about moving into a new school. That’s not always something people can do, right? You have these districts that don’t really offer that, that don’t really offer any choice to, you know, help your child. And so, yeah, there’s really no reckoning for these districts that are not providing these services for these students.
SPEAKER 19 :
Well, and that’s why we have to start to cut the money off on all of these different debt packages and tax increases. So, Rachel O’Brien, I just did a quick search, and this came up, just a headline from the Denver Post, August 21, 2025. It said, at Denver Public Schools, the state’s largest school district, 41.9% of students across grades met or exceeded expectations in English language arts, and 32.9% showed proficiency in math that is unacceptable just 60 of the kids can’t read and more than that can’t do their math and yet we are spending big bucks on this and so it’s important your piece is important and it’s also important to look at what those proficiency rates really are rachel
SPEAKER 04 :
And this is why it’s important for parents to have this information so they know what their district, what the numbers are. First of all, they know their own children are failing or succeeding. And then they know what the district’s numbers are. And they can go to their school boards. These school board meetings are public meetings. They can speak. They can communicate. demand accountability and demand change, you know, demand whatever it is that they feel that they need for their students. And that’s why putting this data out there is, you know, the goal is to empower people to have this information. And now they can go to their school boards and their superintendents and demand better for their kids, you know, when they’re paying, you know, $13,000 on average per student and much, much higher in many other places. You know, California, New York pay far, far higher than that, and they’re ranked, you know, very low at the bottom. And so this is just to get it into the hands of parents to use it, to use it and demand better. Yeah.
SPEAKER 19 :
So a dot to connect on this, Rachel O’Brien, is you mentioned these people that are making big salaries for DEI, diversity, equity, inclusion, SEL, social emotional learning. And the… And that’s all under the guise of we want kids to, well, to be equal. But that means equal in outcomes. And we’re all different. So we’re going to have different outcomes. But the key is, is that each child have the tools to be able to. determine their own outcomes. And if kids cannot read and write and do arithmetic, then I guess the equality is that they all can’t do that. And we don’t want that. And so taking this time and money to push that political agenda. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, these kids can’t read and write and do arithmetic. I think that we need to connect the dot that they don’t really want to educate kids on the foundational things that kids can use for success in life. They want to indoctrinate over here on this other thing. And they’re using tax dollars to do it and paying big salaries to people to do it, Rachel.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. You know, there are always good teachers, right? We probably all remember a couple of teachers that had profound impacts on us. And they were genuinely good teachers who wanted to help us learn. And there are many of those out there. But the problem you have is not only yes. There’s this, you know, desire to to follow this sort of woke teaching and woke just not just teaching, but it’s all encompassing of the entire educational system that doesn’t help students learn. And so, you know, it’s it’s again, it’s that doesn’t change. You know, if and until parents and taxpayers who are the ones who are paying for it, of course, speak up and say enough is enough. We don’t need more equity directors. We don’t need more diversity consultants. You know, school districts hire lots of consultants. They hire people to come in and speak with them. We need people to teach our kids how to read and write. And so it just all goes back to, you know, who’s turning the wheels there? Are they allowing the administrators to turn the wheels or are they allowing or, you know, the parents and the taxpayers, the ones speaking up and saying, we’re not funding another administrator role. We want more teachers.

And better teachers. And information transparency is the key to begin to change all this. And the work that you and your team are doing at Open the Books, Rachel O’Brien, is amazing. So what’s the best way for people to find you, reach you, support you?

And there’s something happening, and Colorado is at the tip of the spear, and people are paying attention and starting to take action. And I’m pleased to have on the line with me Karen Miller regarding these Lakewood referendums. Karen, welcome to the show. Hi, Kim. Well, thank you for joining us because we’ve talked a lot about Lakewood and there’s these referendums that petitions are being sent out or circulated, I guess. So tell us about the Lakewood referendums.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, you know, thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk on your show, Kim. I really appreciate it. Absolutely. We have four petitions out that we are circulating, and we are seeking to stop the implementation of the City of Lakewood’s recent zoning changes. It is such a comprehensive and unique plan and approach to zoning that we think it’s only right that the citizens of Lakewood vote on it. So that’s our objective.
SPEAKER 19 :
Well, because this rewrite on all of the zoning can really change the… complexion of neighborhoods. And so it does make sense that the citizens should have a vote on this. Now, my understanding, Karen, is the city council put this into four different meetings, four different whatever it was. So then that means that those that wanted to help citizens have a voice on it, it’s made things more complicated because instead of one petition, you have to have four petitions signed and they have different due dates on them, right?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, that’s exactly right. When the city council passed these new zoning changes, they broke it up into four parts. and they passed them at four different times. So that resulted in us having to carry four petitions with phased, you know, launch dates and phased due dates. So it has been quite difficult to, you know, get out into the community, get the word out, you know, track people signing it, you know, all of the things that go into getting a petition signed by the citizens. We’ve had to develop different techniques for trying to let people know when another petition comes out, give them cards reminding them, you signed these two petitions, you need to sign these two more. So we’ve had to develop a lot of those techniques to help people remember what they signed.
SPEAKER 19 :
I think it’s frustrating. It’s unbelievable to me that the city representatives of the people and actually we’re seeing that many times the elected representatives may be having an agenda supporting interested parties and staff, instead of wanting to hear what the citizens have to say, you’re not saying, you just want to have a say. You want to have citizens have the ability or have the opportunity to redress their government regarding this. And the fact that, I call them PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties are making it so difficult, I think is very telling, Karen Miller.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, I agree. And, you know, I got involved, Kim, because who wants to get involved in zoning? It’s like stabbing a fork in your eyeball. You know, it’s full of lingo. It’s a 400-page document. It has been very difficult. And I went to a city council meeting yesterday. and felt like they’re not listening and i know they’re hearing people who support the zoning and people who oppose it but i felt very unheard i sent emails to the city i said you know to the counselors and i said enough of your citizens have concerns about this, are against this, please pause. Please stop and slow down what you’re doing. It is so comprehensive. It is so radical. Enough people are concerned that you need to slow down. Absolutely not. I never got any responses to the emails I sent. You know, anything like that. And that’s what I’m hearing from people who are stepping forward to carry petitions, going out in the community to get signatures, is they have felt that their counselors aren’t listening to the current citizens of Lakewood.
SPEAKER 19 :
And that is actually their responsibility, is to listen to the citizens of Lakewood. So call to action. Don’t you have a deadline that’s coming up very soon for the first petition?
SPEAKER 05 :
We do. We’re getting a big push out for the first petition. Everybody should come and sign petition number one. We have color coded them again to help with people understanding and remembering what they signed. Please sign the red petition. It is at our office. Rental space at 820 Sims. We have balloons and signs out directing people where to go. There’s petition carriers at King Soopers at Union and Alameda. There’s petition carriers at the libraries like Belmar Library or the Lakewood Library on 20th and Miller. So we’ve got people still out in the community looking to collect signatures. All four petitions are out, and so we would like everybody to sign all four petitions.
SPEAKER 19 :
And the first one is due in a couple of days? Yes, it is. And how many signatures do you have to get?
SPEAKER 05 :
I don’t recall the exact number. It’s like 3,600 and something. And then we need a buffer because signatures could get thrown out. for various reasons. So we need to collect more than that to ensure that we have that legal minimum required.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay. So if you live in Lakewood, you have to be a resident of Lakewood to sign this, correct?
SPEAKER 05 :
And a registered voter.
SPEAKER 19 :
And a registered voter.
SPEAKER 05 :
A citizen of Lakewood and a registered voter.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay. And if you are and you want to have a voice and basically just say that you want to be able to vote on this, that’s correct, isn’t it? Is that what the petition’s about or no?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes. No, that is what it’s about. We want to get it to a vote of the citizens.
SPEAKER 19 :
Okay. So drop by 820 Sims. Is that North Sims, South Sims, or is that just self-explanatory? I think it’s just Sims. It’s right north of 6th Avenue. Okay, that’s 820 Sims. And you need to do that today, ideally, or tomorrow, because that first petition is due on the 30th. And so we highly recommend that people do that. Karen Miller, thank you so much. My final thought is, Kim, this has been a unifying activity for the citizens of Lakewood. We have people on both sides of the aisle, and it is just wonderful seeing the community come together. It’s truly grassroots.

And I found that working with people, you get to know people that you never would have. So that’s a blessing in itself as well. So most definitely.
