In this inspiring episode of Call to Freedom, Barbara and Kimberly dive into Revelation 3:20, reflecting on the profound invitation from Jesus to open the door of our hearts and lives to Him. Together, they discuss the challenges of busyness, the joy of repentance, and the transformative power of inviting Christ into every area of life. With personal stories, Scripture, and encouragement, they remind listeners of the peace and fulfillment that come from making room for Jesus—whether in thought, habit, or daily routines. This heartfelt message inspires listeners to experience the richness of His presence, especially during the Advent

Welcome to Call to Freedom
00:01:06 Barbara Carmack
I’m so blessed that it was for freedom that Jesus set us free, and I’m so grateful for that verse of Scripture. That was our motto during Darren Live in Denver and.
00:01:18 Barbara Carmack
To be such a part.
00:01:20 Barbara Carmack
The 5th chapter, the whole 5th chapter is just so anointed by Paul.
00:01:25 Barbara Carmack
All of his books are, but oh that.
00:01:27 Barbara Carmack
Especially talking about the freedom that you have as a believer in Jesus Christ.
00:01:33 Barbara Carmack
For getting all the stuff from the past, having God destroy all that stuff from the past as we give our lives to him.
00:01:41 Barbara Carmack
Be blessed today, my friend, and rejoice.
00:01:44 Barbara Carmack
Jesus is praying for you.
00:01:45 Barbara Carmack
You are a recipient of all his blessings, all of them.
00:01:50 Barbara Carmack
The Lord you are blessed to dispense for in him.
00:01:54 Barbara Carmack
Live and move and have your being. I’m so.
00:01:57 Barbara Carmack
Also that we can come live to you Monday through Thursday. It’s been really a fun experience this year, especially being an election year. I was able to.
00:02:06 Barbara Carmack
Come to the studio every day when it was going on and it was really exciting and is he going to win?
00:02:13 Barbara Carmack
Is Kamala going to?
00:02:14 Barbara Carmack
And we were praying and seeking God’s face during that time. And of course, the outcome was just marvelous.
00:02:21 Barbara Carmack
Just marvelous in our.
00:02:23 Barbara Carmack
It’s the Lords doing as it says in Psalm 118 and.
00:02:28 Barbara Carmack
In our eyes, praise the Lord. I have the Teo cover power packs.
00:02:33 Barbara Carmack
That you can get for stocking stuffers or to just hand out to friends, and I’m keeping the original price for the acrylic binder at $10 and $5.
00:02:44 Barbara Carmack
Not even charging for the mail for the postage and $5 for the Power Pack.
00:02:50 Barbara Carmack
For you I ministry is more important to me than.
00:02:54 Barbara Carmack
So I want you to know that you may order online in the resource section of the website.
00:02:59 Barbara Carmack
It’s just a great gift and motivational tool for memorizing in the greatest areas of your challenges, and we have quite a few cards for that. Also want to mention the meeting on December the 14th.
00:03:12 Barbara Carmack
Kimberly will be there at the house hopefully and we’re going to have Turkey and her sweet potato casserole.
00:03:19 Barbara Carmack
I wanted to have just a little bit more of her sweet potato casserole and Levi and Matthew just did it in.
00:03:28 Barbara Carmack
So Kimberly, you’re going to have to make some more sweet potato casserole for us.
00:03:34 Speaker 3
I can do.
00:03:34 Speaker 3
I wanted more, too. I’ll admit it.
00:03:38 Barbara Carmack
It was gone way too.
00:03:39 Barbara Carmack
Oh yes, it was. You made just such a.
00:03:41 Barbara Carmack
Little bit you thought that there was just the four or five of us and it would just be just fine for that, but you should have made a 15 by 13.
00:03:50 Speaker 3
Yeah. And then I I will make a much larger pan, yes.
00:03:56 Barbara Carmack
And also 020 OK that sounds.
00:03:56 Speaker 3
And or two maybe like 2 pan?
00:03:59 Barbara Carmack
Yeah. So I want to mention the 2025 calendars I will be sending those out in January. The first part of January.
00:04:07 Barbara Carmack
You’ll still get most of January.
00:04:09 Barbara Carmack
And for all of those of you who give during the month of December, here I will send a 2025 motivational calendar and their wonderful. So think about giving to call to freedom at the end of your year and.
00:04:25 Barbara Carmack
So thank you, Kimberly, for wading through those announcements and praise the Lord. Yeah.
00:04:31 Speaker 3
Oh, we’re just looking forward to.
00:04:33 Speaker 3
You know, wrapping up the end of the year, the, the, the beginning of the year just started out.
00:04:39 Speaker 3
Really beautiful. And I I know I’ve been talking about how I was trying to fast my thoughts.
00:04:47 Speaker 3
I think.
00:04:47 Speaker 3
Need better wording for that. I was fasting the thoughts in my head but I don’t.
00:04:52 Speaker 3
Can do.
00:04:53 Speaker 3
You know that’s not humanly possible.
00:04:55 Barbara Carmack
Yeah.
00:04:56 Speaker 3
But I just wanted to be more aware of what I was thinking all the time and inviting Jesus into every thought in my head.
00:05:00 Barbara Carmack
Yeah.
00:05:05 Speaker 3
And then as I’m reading revelation here at the end of the year, you know when we’re reading through our Bibles, we get to the end, right?
00:05:13 Speaker 3
In revelation and in December, here and in Revelation 3 verse 20, it says behold, I stand at the door and knock.
00:05:23 Speaker 3
This is Jesus talking. He is standing at the door.
00:05:26 Speaker 3
The door of your heart, the door of your.
00:05:29 Speaker 3
He’s standing there knocking and if anyone hears and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him.
00:05:37 Speaker 3
And he with me. If your heart is open.
00:05:41 Speaker 3
I will come into you and feast with you and you will feast with me.
00:05:47 Speaker 3
I just love the idea of.
00:05:48 Speaker 3
I love the thought of that and being being more conscious, more aware.
00:05:55 Speaker 3
And really purposeful about what I’m thinking, just intentionally stopping my thoughts in the middle of the day and just saying, OK, what am I thinking about right now?
00:06:05 Barbara Carmack
That’s right, yes.
00:06:06 Speaker 3
And.
00:06:08 Speaker 3
Am I inviting him into those thoughts?
00:06:11 Speaker 3
We call those thoughts our.
00:06:13 Speaker 3
We call that space our own right between our ears here.
00:06:16 Speaker 3
Is my brain my thoughts?
00:06:18 Speaker 3
I get to make all these.
00:06:20 Speaker 3
Wow. You know, even as far as what we put in our mouth, you and I, we love that sweet potato casserole.
00:06:25 Speaker 3
So we could.
00:06:26 Speaker 3
Keep putting that in our mouth.
00:06:29 Speaker 3
But are we inviting Jesus?
00:06:32 Speaker 3
To be in the middle of that or you know, if you’re at all like me, you can sometimes be eating and it’s a way of comforting yourself when I comfort, eat, sometimes I overeat and then.
00:06:47 Speaker 3
I am really miserable and I’ve hurt myself.
00:06:50 Speaker 3
So when Jesus is not present with us in our eating and our feasting and we’re not talking to him about it, we might overdo it.
00:07:00 Speaker 3
We might do something that actually brings more misery.
00:07:05 Speaker 3
And this verse in Revelation 320. Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
00:07:12 Speaker 3
It was reminding me, well, first of all, let me say that this verse is written to the Laodicean church.
00:07:19 Speaker 3
So there are 7 letters in revelation to the seven churches, and the laodiceans are the group of people who were neither hot or cold.
00:07:31 Speaker 3
In their dedication to God and his ways.
00:07:34 Speaker 3
They they weren’t freezing with apathy and they weren’t on fire for him.
00:07:40 Speaker 3
Know they they.
00:07:41 Speaker 3
They were.
00:07:42 Speaker 3
They were neither.
00:07:43 Speaker 3
And because they were Luke warm, the spirit of the Lord is saying to them that he is about to spit them out of his mouth.
00:07:52 Speaker 3
So here’s a group of people that think they’re doing really good.
00:07:55 Speaker 3
Good. They think they’re rich and getting richer, but they don’t see how poor.
00:08:00 Speaker 3
Blind and miserable, they really are.
00:08:05 Speaker 3
And Jesus breaks into this, this place where they are, and he’s saying, behold to them, he said, behold.
00:08:13 Speaker 3
The the Hebrew word for behold is the word. Hey, it’s actually the 5th letter of the alphabet.
00:08:21 Speaker 3
The.
00:08:22 Speaker 3
The Hebrew alphabet and that letter is full of grace.
00:08:28 Speaker 3
Letter is about grace, but it’s also.
00:08:31 Speaker 3
Wake up.
00:08:32 Speaker 3
There’s another way.
00:08:33 Barbara Carmack
Behold, hey, I stand at the door and knock.
00:08:38 Barbara Carmack
Wake up here and listen up.
00:08:42 Barbara Carmack
Oh yeah, listen up.
00:08:44 Barbara Carmack
A lot of.
00:08:45 Barbara Carmack
Don’t you find them, Kimberly, apathetic?
00:08:49 Barbara Carmack
They just are just very comfortable and Jesus is trying to get our attention.
00:08:55 Speaker 3
Right.
00:08:56 Barbara Carmack
He wants us to be courageous.
00:08:58 Speaker 3
Yeah, we don’t really know how to wake ourselves.
00:09:01 Speaker 3
We have to ask him to wake us up even you know.
00:09:03 Barbara Carmack
Yes, that’s right.
00:09:04 Speaker 3
But when we hear him say, behold, I stand at the door and knock, I I hope we’re looking at that and saying, OK.
00:09:12 Speaker 3
This is an invitation.
00:09:15 Speaker 3
We could invite him.
00:09:16 Speaker 3
It’s an opportunity to invite him.
00:09:20 Speaker 3
Every area of our life into our thoughts and into our habits and into all these places that have gotten us.
00:09:29 Speaker 3
To to that place of apathy.
00:09:32 Speaker 3
That have gotten us to this place where maybe we’re not feeling the joy that we want to be feeling and the peace.
00:09:39 Speaker 3
He’s the Prince of.
00:09:40 Speaker 3
We want to let him in. The Lord has come.
00:09:44 Speaker 3
Joy to the.
00:09:45 Speaker 3
The Lord has come and he wants to enter our space.
00:09:50 Speaker 3
The space that we call mine, you know, if we put that in quotes, this is my space.
00:09:56 Speaker 3
It’s really his.
00:09:57 Speaker 3
It’s really his space, but he is such a gentleman that he does not force himself or his ways on us.
00:10:05 Speaker 3
He waits for us to decide if we want him.
00:10:08 Speaker 3
He waits for us to open that door.
00:10:11 Speaker 3
And how much do we want him?
00:10:14 Speaker 3
Do we really want him to be in our space?
00:10:17 Speaker 3
You know what kind of a space are we preparing for him to enter into?
00:10:23 Speaker 3
And I know that I can’t really clean up my.
00:10:27 Speaker 3
Without his help.
00:10:29 Speaker 3
I can just invite him in and he comes in and that’s the thing. We might think that we want to do life a certain way, that we we want to think certain thoughts and we’ve got these habits in our mind or these thought trails in our in our.
00:10:47 Speaker 3
That have been with us for so long, it’s uncomfortable to try to change them.
00:10:55 Speaker 3
But we don’t even have to try when we invite him in and say we need you here, we want you, Jesus, to come in and change our minds. Change this space. He turns that space from.
00:11:10 Speaker 3
A lowly barn and feeding through to a presidential suite.
00:11:17 Barbara Carmack
Because he is the.
00:11:18 Speaker 3
President, because he is the king of.
00:11:21 Speaker 3
Because when he moves in, he makes it better than it ever was before.
00:11:21 Barbara Carmack
That’s not.
00:11:27 Speaker 3
I.
00:11:28 Speaker 3
I was remembering second Corinthians 8 verse 9 when Jesus comes in human form.
00:11:37 Speaker 3
To this earth, you.
00:11:39 Speaker 3
We say thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in.
00:11:44 Speaker 3
It could also be in Earth. In this earth, this piece of Earth that I’m sitting in right here that come into this Earth, Jesus. And when he came.
00:11:56 Speaker 3
In human form and he comes to us.
00:11:59 Speaker 3
2nd Corinthians 8-9 says that though he was rich, he became poor.
00:12:06 Speaker 3
He took the lowest level. He took the feeding trough.
00:12:09 Speaker 3
Became poor for your sake, so that.
00:12:13 Speaker 3
You.
00:12:15 Speaker 3
Through his poverty might become incredibly rich.
00:12:20 Speaker 3
He has made US1 with himself, calling us his brothers and sisters, calling us his friends and mom.
00:12:28 Speaker 3
Said at the top of this hour that Jesus is constantly praying for us.
00:12:34 Speaker 3
He is, if you’re listening right now, know that Jesus is praying for you and his prayers are heard. They’re not ignored.
00:12:43 Speaker 3
They are heard. He’s praying for you right now and he wants you to know this space in your life.
00:12:51 Speaker 3
That is full of his richness. That is so satisfying and so fulfilling that we don’t even need what we think.
00:13:00 Speaker 3
Want.
00:13:00 Barbara Carmack
That’s right, yes.
00:13:03 Barbara Carmack
I really you brought up a Revelation 320, Kimberly and the verse right before it says those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Sometimes we take that in a negative kind of attitude.
00:13:18 Barbara Carmack
Of you know, disciplining and correction.
00:13:20 Barbara Carmack
Oh, you did something bad.
00:13:22 Barbara Carmack
Well, Jesus is saying I love you.
00:13:25 Barbara Carmack
I love you when you allow me to control your mind now.
00:13:31 Barbara Carmack
And you’re allowing me to be the Lord of your life now.
00:13:34 Barbara Carmack
And you’re disciplining your life and you’re zealous and you repent. Jesus, that repenting is such an honor, Kimberly.
00:13:43 Barbara Carmack
It really is a lot of people think, oh, I did something wrong.
00:13:46 Barbara Carmack
I’ve got to get on my knees and I’ve got to repent.
00:13:49 Barbara Carmack
No, Jesus sees that in such a different light.
00:13:52 Barbara Carmack
And then right after that, behold, I stand at the door and knock. He says he who overcomes.
00:13:58 Barbara Carmack
When we repent, he comes in and feasts with us and changes our minds.
00:14:05 Barbara Carmack
Love that that our minds can be changed on a on a penny, on a dime, our minds.
00:14:11 Speaker 3
Yes.
00:14:12 Barbara Carmack
Be changed.
00:14:12 Barbara Carmack
Changed and then he says you’ve overcome all of this.
00:14:17 Barbara Carmack
Is overcome.
00:14:18 Barbara Carmack
I’ve overcome those negative thoughts that I had in my mind that stayed in my mind too long and they rotted and they spoiled in my mind.
00:14:28 Barbara Carmack
And so he’s saying, I am so blessed by you changing your mind so I can come in and be the Lord of your the throne of your mind. Yes.
00:14:38 Barbara Carmack
Oh, that’s so important.
00:14:38
Yeah.
00:14:40 Speaker 3
Oh, I have so much more that I want to add to that, but before I get to that.
00:14:46 Speaker 3
You you were saying about how we can feel.
00:14:51 Speaker 3
Well, what you were saying reminded me that we can feel so guilty and so ashamed that when we repent, we have a tendency to think that we need to be ashamed of what we’ve done.
00:15:03 Barbara Carmack
That’s right, yeah.
00:15:03 Speaker 3
And and there is.
00:15:06 Speaker 3
Shame in Jesus he is simply.
00:15:09 Speaker 3
Coming to the door and knocking saying, behold I am here and I am here to remove your shame. I last week I believe it was last week that I was talking from Zechariah.
00:15:19 Speaker 3
I just got so excited about the Book of Zechariah and that third chapter.
00:15:25 Speaker 3
In Zechariah, is dedicated to remove.
00:15:29 Speaker 3
The filthy garments, or our guilt and our shame. It’s removing the filthy garments and then being clothed in priestly robes. So that’s what Jesus wants to do when he comes to the door and knocks, he wants to come in.
00:15:33 Barbara Carmack
Oh.
00:15:40 Barbara Carmack
Right.
00:15:46 Speaker 3
To read, decorate in such a way that we are now in a King’s palace.
00:15:51 Barbara Carmack
Yes, you know, the other night when I got I I made the wrong turn and I wound up in Owosso. And yes, I saw the big tower in the Owosso Rams on it and I thought I’m going in the wrong direction cuz I’m going straight north and I.
00:16:06 Barbara Carmack
Be going West by now.
00:16:08 Barbara Carmack
And before Kimberly, when I discovered that Jesus loves me no matter what, you know, for the Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me. We sing that all the time.
00:16:18 Barbara Carmack
And I’m instead of feeling that.
00:16:21 Barbara Carmack
Oh, shame that.
00:16:23 Barbara Carmack
Oh my goodness, why did I do that?
00:16:25 Barbara Carmack
Didn’t I see the sign?
00:16:27 Barbara Carmack
There was a blessed moment when I felt guilty.
00:16:31 Barbara Carmack
Hand I’m going to take care of.
00:16:33 Barbara Carmack
Just take your time and we’re going to get through this together when you know that God is with you. He’s not against you.
00:16:40 Barbara Carmack
You know that you got to guide a companion. A friend that’s closer than your blood brother or sister, and he’s going to guide you through it.
00:16:47
Yes.
00:16:49 Barbara Carmack
I didn’t know he involved you, but.
00:16:52 Speaker 3
Wasn’t that the beautiful part of it? He had already spoken to me and told me to get in my van, and I did.
00:16:56
Yes. Ah.
00:16:59 Speaker 3
I got him.
00:17:00 Speaker 3
You had left.
00:17:01 Speaker 3
You had left the house.
00:17:03 Speaker 3
And it was.
00:17:04 Speaker 3
It was 3:00 in the morning.
00:17:05 Speaker 3
It was dark and you had left the house and.
00:17:09 Speaker 3
And he just put it on my heart. Well, and I had told you, mom, I’m going to call you and I’ll talk you through how to get out of because Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Tulsa, our highways are confusing.
00:17:22 Speaker 3
Only are they confusing? They are not well marked and.
00:17:27 Speaker 3
The signs that are there Matthew left, by the way, this morning in the dark.
00:17:31 Speaker 3
And he noticed that the signs are so eroded from all the different weather that we have here.
00:17:38 Speaker 3
You can’t even see them.
00:17:40 Speaker 3
Not.
00:17:40 Speaker 3
There’s no lights on the.
00:17:42 Speaker 3
You wouldn’t know your way out of Tulsa.
00:17:46 Speaker 3
In the dark.
00:17:46 Speaker 3
There’s no way. There’s no way to do it.
00:17:49 Speaker 3
And so it it wasn’t entirely your fault, but.
00:17:53 Speaker 3
Your phone had been put on silent, so when I tried to call you, I couldn’t get ahold of you so that I could talk you through it. And Holy Spirit just told me. Get in your van now.
00:17:55 Barbara Carmack
Oh, I know, I know.
00:18:02 Speaker 3
And I.
00:18:03 Speaker 3
I got in my van and I was trying to catch up with you.
00:18:06 Speaker 3
I won’t say how fast I was going to try to catch up with you, but I was trying to catch you on the road and there was no one else on the road.
00:18:17 Barbara Carmack
Praise God for that.
00:18:18 Speaker 3
Really dark and really quiet, but I never.
00:18:22 Speaker 3
Catch you.
00:18:23 Speaker 3
I didn’t find you, and so I I stopped at one point.
00:18:28 Speaker 3
Was.
00:18:29 Speaker 3
You know, it was quite a bit further north from our home and I stopped and I just sat there praying.
00:18:34 Speaker 3
And pretty soon you called me and you said OK, I missed.
00:18:39 Speaker 3
I missed a turn somewhere and so now then, your phone. You saw that I had been trying to call you, and now we had this communication. But that is God with us.
00:18:50 Speaker 3
That is him speaking to you and calming your heart and telling you Nope, you don’t have to feel ashamed of this.
00:18:51 Barbara Carmack
Oh, praise the Lord, yes.
00:18:57 Speaker 3
Don’t have to feel.
00:18:58 Speaker 3
I’ve got somebody else right here.
00:19:01 Speaker 3
You are with me.
00:19:02 Speaker 3
She is with me.
00:19:04 Speaker 3
Are all together.
00:19:06 Speaker 3
There is no joy like that.
00:19:08 Speaker 3
Of joy.
00:19:08 Barbara Carmack
No, I was so shocked when you said, well, I’m about 10 minutes behind you.
00:19:13 Barbara Carmack
I go. What do you know? 10 minutes. I’ve been on the road for 1/2 an hour now.
00:19:18 Barbara Carmack
Can’t be 10 minutes behind, you said.
00:19:20 Barbara Carmack
I’m in my van.
00:19:21
You know what?
00:19:24 Speaker 3
That was so fun, and we had so much joy in that moment.
00:19:28 Speaker 3
We were just.
00:19:30 Speaker 3
And laughing. When I finally caught up with.
00:19:30
Yeah.
00:19:32 Speaker 3
You know.
00:19:33 Speaker 3
And that that kind of joy, that’s the fulfillment and the satisfaction that Jesus wants to bring us. He’s standing there saying, behold, behold, I am at your door.
00:19:45 Speaker 3
Am knocking.
00:19:46 Speaker 3
I’m so glad that I opened the door to him in that prompting because.
00:19:51 Speaker 3
There are some who would think. No, that’s.
00:19:53 Speaker 3
And there there was a time in my life that I probably would have thought. Don’t get in your van and go try and follow her. That’s silly.
00:20:00 Speaker 3
She’s fine.
00:20:01 Barbara Carmack
Yeah, because you were in your jammies.
00:20:02
But yeah.
00:20:03 Barbara Carmack
Mean. You know you.
00:20:04 Speaker 3
I was I.
00:20:05 Barbara Carmack
Want to get nervous at?
00:20:07 Barbara Carmack
O’clock in the morning.
00:20:10 Barbara Carmack
I sing around Tulsa and Owosso in my pajamas.
00:20:14 Barbara Carmack
Know and having to then fill up your van because Matthew had filled mine, but he hadn’t.
00:20:19 Barbara Carmack
Well, he was expecting you to go traipsing all over Broken Arrow and and owajo Owosso.
00:20:26 Barbara Carmack
Yeah. So.
00:20:27 Barbara Carmack
So it was quite a wonderful adventure.
00:20:30 Speaker 3
It was wonderful.
00:20:32 Speaker 3
And when in Revelation 3.
00:20:35 Speaker 3
When it says, behold, I stand at the door and knock.
00:20:37 Speaker 3
If anyone hears that’s the place right there where we might struggle to make a decision.
00:20:40 Barbara Carmack
That’s it.
00:20:41 Barbara Carmack
That’s it.
00:20:46 Speaker 3
You know and and.
00:20:46 Speaker 3
You feel like you’re not really hearing the Lord, then just ask him to open your ears.
00:20:51 Barbara Carmack
It’s.
00:20:51 Speaker 3
He will help you hear him.
00:20:54 Speaker 3
And sometimes it’s a gut.
00:20:56 Speaker 3
It’s not just something you’re hearing audibly in your ears, you know.
00:20:59 Speaker 3
Gut feelings.
00:21:00 Speaker 3
I just knew I didn’t hear it audibly, but I knew I was supposed to get in my van and follow and try to catch up with you.
00:21:06 Barbara Carmack
Yeah, it’s.
00:21:08 Barbara Carmack
Times in these last 15, almost 16 years that Darren’s been gone.
00:21:13 Barbara Carmack
That you have had that kind of feeling after I left.
00:21:17 Barbara Carmack
Before. No, you haven’t had that feeling of. Well, I got to go to see what’s going on.
00:21:23 Barbara Carmack
Got to go chase her? No. And this time he did chase her down.
00:21:26
Chase.
00:21:26 Speaker 3
Her down.
00:21:30 Speaker 3
No, but, but that’s where we can struggle with it, you know. And and if we hear, are we going to trust that one prompting? You know that that the Holy Spirit is bringing to us.
00:21:41 Speaker 3
Are we gonna trust that and make room for it in all of our ideas that make sense to us? Because our ideas that make sense might crowd it out. You know, in our hearts and our minds can become so cluttered that we can’t hear him knocking anymore.
00:21:59 Speaker 3
You know our lives are busy lives on this planet.
00:22:01 Speaker 3
They’re too busy, and my friend Selena reminded me of a book title that had caught my attention.
00:22:09 Speaker 3
Quite a while back and just the title of the book arrested My Heart. It’s called the ruthless elimination of busy.
00:22:18 Speaker 3
And I haven’t read the book, but Selena is reading it and she has been really blessed by it. And I just believe that it can feel ruthless when we first begin to eliminate the busy things from our lives and our minds.
00:22:33 Speaker 3
You know, we might be.
00:22:34 Speaker 3
Well, this is.
00:22:35 Speaker 3
I’ve got to do this. I have to stay.
00:22:38 Speaker 3
In this routine I have to stay with the schedule. I’ve got to be busy.
00:22:42 Speaker 3
Have to make this money.
00:22:44 Speaker 3
But when we make room for the king of all kings.
00:22:50 Speaker 3
He is the one with a vision for our lives and he doesn’t just have the vision. He has the provision and he will provide.
00:22:56 Barbara Carmack
That’s right.
00:22:58 Speaker 3
He brings a greater satisfaction than any of our clutter, and our busyness could ever bring us.
00:23:05 Speaker 3
So behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears and opens the door.
00:23:12 Speaker 3
Oh, here it is again.
00:23:14 Speaker 3
Many of us might hear him knocking, but we choose to ignore it.
00:23:19 Speaker 3
We might.
00:23:20 Speaker 3
We might feel his leading, but we might be uncomfortable but for.
00:23:24 Speaker 3
He’s leading us to, you know, and that’s usually because of everything else on our plates.
00:23:30 Speaker 3
All our busyness and our agendas are just making us deaf to his knock, and it is a risk to open the door to him because it might be something humbling or uncomfortable.
00:23:44 Speaker 3
That he’s leading us to, you know, he might be leading us to something.
00:23:49 Speaker 3
Like giving giving a a special item or giving an extra amount of money when you feel like you can’t afford it or you feel like you don’t want to give that precious thing to someone else that can be uncomfortable.
00:24:05
And.
00:24:07 Speaker 3
We may just want to shut those thoughts.
00:24:10 Speaker 3
It might be tempting to not follow those promptings, but when we do follow them, that’s one way of opening the door to Jesus.
00:24:20 Speaker 3
And it won’t matter what we’re giving up or what we’re removing from our plate, from our busy schedule, because the next thing we know.
00:24:28 Speaker 3
We find ourselves.
00:24:31 Speaker 3
With the best chef in the universe.
00:24:35 Barbara Carmack
Yes, that verse is so beautiful because.
00:24:40 Barbara Carmack
After I left filling up in Wichita, I usually get to Colby and for some reason my tank was empty before I even got to Oakley and Matthew.
00:24:52 Barbara Carmack
Husband had mentioned there’s a really great gas station in Oakley called Mittens.
00:24:58 Barbara Carmack
And I.
00:24:59 Barbara Carmack
I’d never gassed up there, but on my way to Oakley after I passed Russell and I knew that towns.
00:25:05 Barbara Carmack
A progression of towns I.
00:25:07 Barbara Carmack
You know what? I’m going to take Matthews advice and I’m going to just gas up at Oakley, so I’m not at all nervous when I get to the state line. And in doing that, Kimberly, it says I will.
00:25:20 Barbara Carmack
Come into him and dine with him.
00:25:22 Barbara Carmack
When I I’ve never done.
00:25:24 Barbara Carmack
But when I was through gassing up and it was kind of early in the morning, it was only 10:00.
00:25:30 Barbara Carmack
And I thought, you know what?
00:25:31 Barbara Carmack
An IHOP here.
00:25:33 Barbara Carmack
I’m just going to go in and eat and that was the most delightful breakfast I feel like Jesus was sitting right across from me in the booth and just having the best eggs and bacon and hash Browns and Kimberly. It was just such a delight. It’s just exactly.
00:25:43
Oh yes.
00:25:50 Barbara Carmack
We like this verse says he will come into you, my friend, as you’re listening, when you open your ears and open your eyes.
00:25:58 Barbara Carmack
And he will come in and dine with you and it will be a feast, no matter where it is. Now. If you would have told me there’s a good breakfast waiting for you and at IHOP in Oakley, I would have said you’re crazy.
00:26:11 Barbara Carmack
But it was a great breakfast at that little truck stop.
00:26:16 Speaker 3
So what’s so good when we are feeling empty?
00:26:17 Barbara Carmack
Oh yeah.
00:26:20 Speaker 3
He is the one who fills.
00:26:22 Speaker 3
So if you’re feeling empty during this season and you really need to be filled and satisfied, open the door for Jesus to come in.
00:26:32 Speaker 3
Make room for him in your thoughts and on your calendar and in your agendas and your emotions.
00:26:41 Speaker 3
Just make room for him and let him be the one to fill you with the best meal that you could ever imagine.
00:26:49 Barbara Carmack
That’s right.
00:26:50 Barbara Carmack
Oh, so good. Kimberly, do you have more?
00:26:52 Barbara Carmack
Mean in your in your notes.
00:26:55 Speaker 3
Oh, there’s always more. OK.
00:26:57 Barbara Carmack
So I mean, I invite you for.
00:26:59 Barbara Carmack
It’s kind of been a short week for me so and a longer week for you, but if you feel like you’d like to talk more about what’s between our ears, we can do that in tomorrow.
00:27:11 Barbara Carmack
Bless you.
00:27:11 Speaker 3
That sounds.
00:27:12 Speaker 3
I look forward to being with you tomorrow.
00:27:12 Barbara Carmack
