Welcome to the Kim Monson Show podcast. Kim Monson is your host. We are on the threshold of greater discovery and flourishing because of a quiet, but growing reconciliation between science and the belief in God. Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute Scott Powell discusses a new movie, The Story of Everything and Beyond, that addresses this reconciliation. Trent Loos continues the discussion on “Economic Development.” Engaged citizen Mike Rawluk sheds light on issues that affect you. Thank you to all of you who support us because we are an independent voice on an independent station. Truth and clarity as we look at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. Something’s a good idea. You should not have to force people to do it. And it’s never compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, childhood, or lives via force. And force can obviously be a weapon, but it can be policy and unpredictable and excessive taxation, fees, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, legislation, the agenda of the World Economic Forum and the globalist elite’s that plays out at the United Nations with this Colorado state legislature, this Colorado governor, and at the county, local, school district, and special district levels. And remember, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. And socialism is not about free stuff. That’s the carrot to get people to vote for it. Socialism actually has to come down to force. And on the show, we talk about the issues. We’ll mention the people behind those issues. But we work diligently to stay out of the political rhetoric, the eighth grade girl kind of fighting that you can see in politics. And let’s see, let’s get over here to our word of the day is ephemeral. And it could be lasting a very short time, short-lived or transitory. Lasting but one day is the second definition or anything short-lived as with certain insects. But in history… This great American idea is very short, and let’s hope that it’s not ephemeral in our existence. When we were talking with John Eastman, and this is spelled E-P-H-E-M-E-R-A-L, and last night I talked with John Eastman about the times that we’re in, and we are on the doorstep of tyranny. particularly here in Colorado. And when we look at all of this different legislation that is being presented down at the state house, I can see just this pattern that is occurring there. And that is why we’d also encourage you to join CUT, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. It’s an all-volunteer group where we’re watching this legislation. We basically have about three more weeks of of this legislative session. And so fasten your seatbelts. I want you to think there couldn’t be anything worse that could come down the pike, but they continue to surprise us. But when you see these folks, say thank you to them. This is my fellow board members. And again, they’re all volunteers and they give up their weekends to take these positions on these different bills. And we look at these bills, the ones that we think affect the taxpayer Tabor, Colorado’s taxpayer bill of rights. Property rights and parental rights. So when you see these folks, say thank you to Steve Dorman, Greg Golianski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill, Rob Knuth, John Nelson, Wendy Warner, Marty Nielsen, Ramey Johnson, Mary Jansen, Dave Evans, Corey Onozorg, Paula Beard, and Ray Beard. And it is Wednesday, so that means that it’s Wings Day at Hooters restaurants. You buy 20 wings, you get an additional 10 for free. That’s for to go or to dine in. And their locations are Loveland, Westminster, and in Aurora. I want to say thank you to the Harris family for their goal sponsorship of the show as well. I greatly appreciate them. Our quote of the day is from Epictetus. And he was born in, let’s see here. 50 AD, died in 135 AD. He was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born into slavery in Hierapolis, Phrygia, which is present-day Western Turkey. He lived in Rome until his banishment, after which he spent the rest of his life in Nicopolis in northwestern Greece. Epictetus studied Stoic philosophy under Vesonius Rufus, and after manumission, his formal emancipation from slavery, he began to teach philosophy. when philosophers were banished from Rome by Emperor Domitian toward the end of the first century, Epictetus founded a school of philosophy and Nucopolis. And he taught that philosophy is a way of life and not simply a theoretical discipline. And he said this, and my dad said this too. He said, be careful whom you associate with. It is human to imitate the habits of those with whom we interact. We inadvertently adopt their interests, their opinions, their values, and their habit of interpreting events. And our bill of the day, this is a really bad one, is House Bill 261326. It is the Sunset Public Utilities Commission. And the sponsors are Representative Monica Duran, Representative Jenny Wolford, Senator Robert Rodriguez, and Senator Lisa Cutter. And this is Cut’s comment on it. It says the bill extends the life of the Public Utilities Commission until 2037 and expands its mission and authorities. The PUC under the bill will be authorized to conduct private conversations outside of adjudicatory matters and to use email in its business. The bill directs the PUC to investigate how the state can increase participation in income-based energy assistance programs and study the finances of privately held water utilities and study onerous new regulations on rideshare companies. This summary cannot list all of the new elements of a 44-page bill. The bill empowers bureaucratic mission creep, and the PUC was originally formed to protect consumers from monopoly utilities, and now it is merely a tail being wagged by a control-centric governor and a legislature. It has become a favorite hammer for those politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties, PBIs, under the gold dome who seek to control every aspect of hardworking Coloradans’ lives. The governor-appointed PUC board should be replaced by a board elected by the people. And one other thing, headline, and this is out of Virginia. There was a redistricting and it looks, this is from Fox News. It says Democrats win Virginia redistricting fight, threatening Republican House majority. And it looks to me like it was a pretty much a razor thin victory from what I had seen before. It looked like it was just over 50%. This could certainly change the trajectory of our country. This is a very big deal. And so we will continue to watch that. I think there will be a legal challenge to this as well, but we’ll have to continue to watch that. And again, that’s of just great concern of what’s happening in Virginia with that redistricting. And we have these important discussions because I work with great people. And I am so pleased to be talking with Carl Jones, who is the owner of Radiance Power, a new partner of the show. And welcome. It’s great to have you, Carl.
SPEAKER 08 : 10:07
Great to be here, Kim.
SPEAKER 14 : 10:09
And Carl, tell us a little bit about how you got into the electrical contracting business and how you became an entrepreneur and owner of Radiance Power.
SPEAKER 08 : 10:22
Yeah, so I moved here about a year after the cold COVID situation from overseas. And after having worked all over the world doing electrical and electrical services, when I relocated here, I was not satisfied with the Basically, the company’s performances, both for the client and for the employee here in Colorado. With the higher cost of living that exists here in this state, I found that most companies don’t pay what I consider a living wage for their employees or for long-term growth with that company to maintain that. So I started my company here. two-part. One, to be in control of my own business and kind of set myself up for success the way I wanted to. And then two, to be able to provide myself with a living wage. And then as the company grows and we bring on a small team of people, they also will have the same opportunity to be able to afford the lifestyle that they want in this city without being forced to live in a work a bunch of extra hours just to maintain the style of living that they have now into the future.
SPEAKER 14 : 11:43
Wow. And I love that, that you understand how important it is to take good care of your employees. And when that happens, then I think people can thrive and flourish and do a really good job at their business as well. So I love that. And what is your website, Carl, if people want more information?
SPEAKER 08 : 12:08
You can find us at radiancepower.net. That’s R-A-D-I-A-N-C-E, power.net, where we have a list of our services, reviews of all the work we’ve done, and the majority of the pictures found on the site are also work that has been completed by the company as well.
SPEAKER 14 : 12:29
OK, and it’s really interesting to read all of the reviews that are there as well, which I think really just really shows that you really strive for excellence as you’re taking care of your clients and your gallery. I looked at your gallery as we were preparing this. some of these spots. And I’m sure if you are somebody that understands electrical stuff that people could really appreciate it. I wasn’t sure that I quite understood everything I was looking at generally on that, Carl, but it sure is impressive that you have this gallery of all the work that you’ve done or a lot of the work that you’ve done.
SPEAKER 08 : 13:09
Yeah. And a lot of that too is just for example. So that way when clients do call in and ask us about certain projects, we can, you know, push them over to the website and go, hey, take a look at these photos. It’s exactly what it’s going to look like on your house when we put it in, or this is what it involves as far as the work. So even though they may not have a full understanding of the scope, they can get a better idea of the work that will be completed on their home or commercial facility.
SPEAKER 14 : 13:36
Okay. And that website is radiancepower.net, radiancepower.net. And this is Carl Jones. He is the owner of Radiance Power. Carl, thank you so much. We’ll talk with you next week.
SPEAKER 08 : 13:48
Yep, you have a great week.
SPEAKER 20 : 13:49

He also is with the Ralston Valley Coalition. There is a lot going on. Mike Rolick, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 09 : 17:15
Hi, Kim. How’s it going? How are you?
SPEAKER 14 : 17:17
I’m doing well. And so let’s get into this. I think the first thing, when we were texting back and forth, there’s a whole bunch of things to talk about. But the very last thing that you said was, I think that Jefferson County Commissioner Dahlkemper, you said, has posited banning books. What’s with that?
SPEAKER 09 : 17:40
No, no, no, no, no. She was… She was saying there was attempts to ban books, particularly in the LGBTQ community in the public libraries, and there was a push to ban books, and they want to make sure everyone feels safe. I thought she was talking about schools at the time, but she was talking about the libraries. However, I think that no matter what, we have to be very sensitive when these books get in the hands of minors. Yeah. So I just thought there was very interesting things she was talking about yesterday. And I don’t know if people always read the books they’re espousing, so to speak, and really understand that some of these, we’ve seen in the past where parents will literally read parts of a book and get kicked out of a meeting because it’s deemed not worthy to be read out loud at a meeting and it breaks some kind of code. but is still somehow therefore fitting for minors to read. No, she was trying to be more inclusive and saying that there was attempts to ban books and make people feel not welcome.
SPEAKER 07 : 18:55
Okay.
SPEAKER 09 : 18:56
And I just think this has been a long argument back and forth for many years, and I think the most important thing to remember is minors should just be protected at all costs. We’ve talked about that on this show. Many of your guests have. Minors need to be protected at all costs. That’s the way it is. Well, and we should talk about that. Yeah.
SPEAKER 14 : 19:17
Yeah. And what what is what we’ve seen is that there are images in these books that once children see these images, they’re very graphic, really pornographic images. Once those things are seen, it’s they’re not unseen. And OK, so thank you for that clarification on that. Next thing, I’ve been thinking a lot about these conversations we’re having regarding smart meters. And that’s regarding our electricity fund. through Excel. Now the water departments are talking about water meters as well. And then you said possibly gas meters. And I drove up to my house one day and there was Excel trucks out front and they were replacing my gas meter. And I said, well, what’s, what’s with this? And they said, oh, we’re, we’re just updating. But I’m wondering if I now have a smart gas meter and I didn’t even realize it.
SPEAKER 09 : 20:14
Well, I don’t know if they’re out yet, frankly, but, um, I did have a meter reader come by the other day and mention that he heard that gas meters would be next. I did find it was a tough thing to find online, but I did find the United Kingdom is using it right now. So they exist. And so if you think about you could be in a situation where your electricity is being monitored under 15 minute consumption patterns, your water is monitored under 15 minute consumption patterns, and then also potentially your gas. uh what’s next your information you know like your your your uh broadband uh wi-fi are they going to monitor how much information is coming in and out at 15 minute consumption patterns as well things like that really bother me because it starts showing patterns of behavior we did talk about naperville smart media awareness versus city of naperville and how that that level of pattern awareness constitutes a search And then at that point, it’s the search that’s still okay because it creates efficiency apparently to that district. I think it was the seventh district. But also the fact that all of these now have apps, whether it’s Badger for smart meter or Excel has an app as well for electricity. And, you know, at that point, what would happen if someone got a hold of your passwords or what have you hacked in and they were able to see if you’re home or not? and then determine if they’re going to break in. There’s a lot of safety implications about having that information out at your 15-minute patterns, as well as a long time ago, I know that we saw there were certain Excel customers that had their smart meter attached to their smart thermostat, and their smart thermostats would not turn down during a heat wave. Excel continually says, no, we won’t do that. But during that one program, about 10% of the customers or what have you did have that information. So you start getting into the idea that if people understand how you’re consuming, then the next obvious step is more control on how you’re consuming. And I liken this to a long time ago, Mayor Bloomberg posited the idea of everyone should get a gym membership because he wanted to go single payer health care in New York City at the time. I thought that was really interesting because as soon as someone’s paying the bill, so to speak, they want to get in your business, right? So as soon as we look at things like drought restrictions, I know Denver Water has that 20% water goal as well. We’ve talked about water storage issues. We’ve talked about not looking forward. That aside, at this moment, if the water is not sufficient, they can look and start saying, well, gosh, these people use these water patterns at these times of day and they’re less efficient than others because of whatever reason that they can come up with. And I see that as a major issue right now. Consequently, it’s happening everywhere. I looked into it, Puerto Rico, the whole island apparently is getting badger water meters as well. So this is kind of a worldwide movement right now, it seems. Obviously, Puerto Rico is part of the US, but I’m saying it’s definitely far from here. And I’m seeing stuff in the UK and other countries, it definitely seems to be the way the world is moving to make sure everyone’s 15-minute consumption patterns are on record.
SPEAKER 14 : 23:36
The other thing, we haven’t talked about this, but some of our listeners have brought up with these meters that, in fact, there could be what’s called dynamic pricing. And we won’t really know. And that means, and again, I’ll put my tin hat on, that Excel might determine whatever criteria for one person over another person, and they might charge them differently. Have you looked at that at all, Mike Rollick?
SPEAKER 09 : 24:04
No. You know, just yesterday I was looking into something about that. Apparently, there is a way to opt out of dynamic pricing, but you have to agree to pay a certain amount per kilowatt hour, no matter what. It says right here, just a quick overview, it’s November 1st, 2025, Xcel Energy in Colorado implemented mandatory time of use rates, charging higher prices for electricity from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays. Prices are lowest Off-peak, which include overnight, early morning, and all day on the weekends, the ship aims to reduce peak demand with options to opt out for a flat rate. And, yeah, that goes to what I read yesterday.
SPEAKER 14 : 24:44
And the thing about it is we’ve gotten away from what is really supposed to be happening. And that is that the utilities are supposed to provide a product to us, and we have agreed that we will pay for that product. And and so the goal would be that they take good care of their customers. So they plan in years where we have, for example, for example, with water, they plan accordingly. They’re always working on coming up with more and more storage years that we have a lot of moisture to plan accordingly. Same with Excel. Instead of being, and I talked about this House Bill 26, 1326, the sunset of the Public Utilities Commission. This is a big expansion of the PUC. And the PUC was put in place to kind of be a representative of the people towards the monopoly. But now the PUC is just doing the bidding of really this governor and the governor radical agenda. And so we need to get back to where they’re thinking about their customers instead of their ideology, Mike Rollick.
SPEAKER 09 : 25:59
Like I said, I’m seeing this worldwide. So I know one of the smart meter companies does reference the UN ESG policies. And I kind of think it’s It’s in that vein where it’s more about understanding that I do believe this is to curb usage overall. So while that might be a noble effort in one way to say, hey, let’s turn off lights, let’s save energy, what have you, to do this via a control mechanism and basically a form of spyware to understand people’s habit patterns and then use that against them to get a particular behavior. I don’t think is the right approach at all. If you want to work on saving utility, work through the awareness, work through the education program. I’m all for trying to work to save electricity, to save water, to what have you, to not waste what we have, but to start looking into people’s consumption patterns and getting into people’s businesses.
SPEAKER 14 : 27:06
frightening yeah absolutely frightening it is it is next thing is uh we talked about this uh split mill levy and you had um i think texted me and said that that did die in committee so bring us up to that to speed on that that that’s about where it stays it died in committee um but the
SPEAKER 09 : 27:28
The lot split had passed through, and that’s the situation. We’re all subject to just an administrative approval that you or anybody could split your property into two pieces, not in half, into two pieces. And it has to have utility easements and has to have access to a row for both parcels. And it’s only just an administrative decision. So once again, we’re seeing more push towards increased density. this would be a planning and zoning approval and not a board of County commissioners or city council approval. The state is taking away that power, even from home rule cities to say, no, these lots are small enough and the minimum lot size would be 1200 feet. Um, that’s about the size of a small home. Um, so at that point you’re creating a situation that potentially, I think they even mentioned zero lot lines in there, but close to zero lot lines. And, uh, Yeah, more than just the size of the lot, it is the taking away of the local sovereignty that really bothers me on that. That’s coming up on the 30th for another committee, this time a static committee. Kim, real quick, I know we’re coming up on time. Colorado Mountain Rail has just come back. I don’t know if you’re aware of this. This is the line that would go from Denver out to Craig via steamboat. But we’ve had multiple meetings with CDOT. in the Arvada area, and now they’re back. They’re going to have a meeting April 30th at Arvada High School. The big concern here is they’re looking at new stations in Craig, Hayden, Steamboat Springs, Steamboat Springs Resort, Oak Creek, Kremling, Hot Sulphur Springs, Rawlinsville, and Arvada. And during these meetings, they had a series of three, and by the third meeting, they started calling portions of this rail commuter, What that scares us about is HB 241313. The rail line itself might not be the worst thing in the world, but we do not have the budget for it. They are sharing with Union Pacific. It used to be an old coal line. And I commend the efforts to say, okay, look, you know, let’s share infrastructure. But I don’t commend the efforts to say, don’t worry, this is not going to be a situation where HB 241313 comes into play because of a frequency that But the frequency only applies to RTD bus lines or bus lines. We can’t find a single thing that applies to frequency of service to create that transit-oriented district with up to 40 DU per acre within a half-mile circle of any new train station. And that’s the most frightening thing is whether you like the train or not, it’s going to come with some extra baggage.
SPEAKER 14 : 30:19
No pun intended on that. And what are the cost estimates on this, Mike Raleigh?
SPEAKER 09 : 30:25
Not as bad as you would think because basically it’s just a rental of the line. It’s not like they’re building a whole new line. They’re revitalizing a spur that was for the coal industry. I don’t have the exact figures, but what I would say is if anyone is in those towns out there, this is a Colorado issue. I can’t imagine being in Oak Creek and then all of a sudden the center of your town where the rail station goes is now re-zoned, forcibly re-zoned by the state Remember, HB 24, 13, 13, up to 40 DU per acre in a half-mile radius in a small mountain town. Arvada, they’re looking at places that are pretty much open land as well right now, and it’s in a corridor. We just don’t have the services, the infrastructure, or the desire to have that right now. So I would suggest that people in those towns, again, Craig, Hayden, Stebo Springs, Oak Creek, Kremling, Hopsul Springs, and Rawlinsville, Really take a look at this. And if anyone’s in Nevada or the surrounding area, April 30th, they’ll be at the Nevada High School. I think about 5 p.m., 6 p.m.
SPEAKER 14 : 31:31
Okay. Man, so much information, Mike Rawlick. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. We’ll talk with you next week.
SPEAKER 09 : 31:40
Kim, do I have one more second? Sure. Okay. Also, last night, Nevada City voted in the drones as first responder by accident, and they’re bringing in the Real-Time Information Center. Again, April 29th and 30th, they also are hosting meetings for the community to understand how the drones and the real-time information center are going to get put together. This is a frightening technology. It feels like a command and control center level for a military operation, the way they can bring in all the different cameras from the drones to action vision, to action fuses, to the body-worn cameras all in one spot. And again, I would encourage anyone in the area to check that out. And I can get you that link, Kim, if it helps. But April 29th and 30th, they’re having meetings at Nevada for the accident system.
SPEAKER 14 : 32:29
Okay, that would be great. Yes, get that to us. And Mike Rollick, we’ll talk with you next week.
SPEAKER 09 : 32:34
Thank you, Kim. Good day.

He’s a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute, and he’s recently published a very interesting article, The Story of Everything and Beyond. Scott Powell, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 05 : 35:23
Thank you, Kim. Glad to be with you.
SPEAKER 14 : 35:26
And this is really an interesting piece. A lot of big concepts in this piece. So where do you want to start on this, Scott Powell?
SPEAKER 05 : 35:35
Well, I mean, the framework of the article is really that science and religion are coming together. That is to say that the physical world, you know, is… And the spiritual worlds are directly related to the creator. There is a creator, we’ll call it, the Discovery Institute calls it the school of intelligent design. And that is that we cannot understand, we can’t understand the reality that we see all around us without recognizing that there is an intelligent designer behind it all. So it’s really not, a creationist approach to understanding these things, although they are directly related, but most people who believe in creation, say, starting with the book of Genesis, have a theistic explanation. And really what science reveals is that, yes, there is a creator, and we can understand the creator by looking at nature. by looking at everything that was created. And we are at the top of the pyramid in that we’re created by God. So we can recognize, we can see and understand creation because we are in some ways hardwired by the Creator to recognize the patterns in creation that reveal God.
SPEAKER 14 : 37:16
Well, and one of the things in the article that you connected the dots on is that this is a delicate balance, our earth and our life. But on the other hand, that there’s a real order to that. And when we look at the big questions that we’re being faced with, today in america the questions really i think are order or chaos and the creator the divine provider has created he he wants to he wants to have order and as when we work to have order in our lives of course as our christian faith um you know helps us to do that it’s it’s It’s much better to have order in our life. But what we’re seeing from a political standpoint is that they are pushing destruction and chaos. And I think it’s important that people understand that we’ve got kind of big decisions to make as we’re looking at things that are going on.
SPEAKER 05 : 38:20
Oh, you’re absolutely right, Kim. You know, the big area of growth in our economy right now is in artificial intelligence. And artificial intelligence has great – it does wonderful things. I think many people in the audience have probably learned to use artificial intelligence in very simple ways. And it’s enormously – it’s a great tool, but it also is a dangerous tool because artificial intelligence – We find ourselves embracing a future driven by artificial intelligence, even while the present advancement in that technology can lead to what’s known as AI takeover, in which AI systems end up making the most consequential decisions about our future, displacing the human input, the human mind. what the pros say is a suicidal danger in which AI could turn on the very people who created artificial intelligence. That’s a scary prospect, but it’s a real prospect. So we’re faced with a moral dilemma. If we allow AI to develop unfettered, unguided, we may be putting humanity at risk. So we need to – all things need boundaries, as it turns out. We recognize that freedom is a wonderful thing, but freedom can lead to anarchy and freedom can lead to behaviors that are – that hurt people, that hurt society. We need a framework, sort of – I make the analogy to sports. Everyone understands sports, and people love to go and view sports. Let’s use football as an example. People love to go and watch football games because they can see athletes performing at the highest level. They’re performing at levels that we wish we could perform at. They’re excellent at what they do. what would happen? And, of course, the goal of football is pretty simple. You’ve got to get the ball over the goal line at either end of the field, and the two teams are competing to get the ball over the goal line, and they do it through a system of downs and so forth. But what would happen if the referee showed up at the field and said, you know, we’re going to simplify this game. You know, the goal is to get the ball, the ball over the, each team has to get the ball over the goal line. So let’s just suspend all the rules on how we, how we do that. And, and you can just go at it. Well, the, you know, the, the football would devolve very quickly. That, that game of football would be chaos and people would get hurt. So rules are necessary to, in order for people to perform at the highest level, in order for there to be an order, if you will, in achieving the goal. And so that applies pretty much to everything in life. Freedom requires that we stay within boundaries. Freedom requires response. There is no There’s no freedom or no rights without responsibility. So people have lost sight of this, and it’s really to our detriment that we have people that are clamoring for rights all the time, and they don’t understand what their responsibilities are as citizens.
SPEAKER 14 : 42:50
Well, and a lot of that goes to our education system because we’ve really dumbed down our education system, and yet we’re putting so much money into it. Let’s go to break. I’m talking with Scott Powell. And he is a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute. And we’re talking about an article that he recently published, The Story of Everything and Beyond. And there’s a movie that is coming out regarding this as well. We have these important discussions because of our great sponsors. One of the nonprofits that I highlight on a regular basis is the Center for American Values, which is located in Pueblo. And they are focused on honoring our Medal of Honor recipients, as well as they have great educational programs that are focused on honor, integrity, and patriotism. And so that website to check out their hours and see when you can visit them is AmericanValueCenter.org. And then we will be having him in studio tomorrow with Karen Levine. And that is Lauren Levy for Everything Mortgages.

He’s written a really important piece. And this is, let’s see, I have the title right here, Scott. And now it’s, hold on here just a second. It is the story of everything and beyond. And this movie is coming out soon. So let’s, what should people know about that?
SPEAKER 05 : 47:35
Well, the movie is an exploration, really, of all the areas of science, and that would include astronomy, cosmology, this huge universe in which we live. It would include the lower levels of astronomy, our solar system, and how our Earth is in a very precise orbit around the sun and how our Earth works. It tilts on an axis, and we have a moon that governs our tides. It’s amazing. And then it focuses on the microcosm, and that is biology. We cannot really explain many things that go on in biology without recognizing that there is a creator. So let’s start off with the big picture. You know, it turns out that discoveries from physics and astronomy reinforce atheistic views. And physicists have determined that the fundamental laws and parameters of our universe are finely tuned. And they’re tuned against all odds to make life possible. Even slight alterations of many independent factors, such as the strength of gravitational force, or electromagnetic attraction, or the initial arrangement of matter and energy would render life impossible. Thus, there’s an increasing number of physicists no longer believe that chance and randomness provide ultimate answers. Instead, they believe that life is only sustained by a cosmic fine-tuning, and that, of course, implies that there must be an ultimate fine-tuner. And astronomers point out that the solar system itself must also reside in a narrow, life-friendly band of space within our galaxy called the galactic habitable zone. They’ve also discovered that life on our planet depends on many other localized fine-tuning parameters. The Earth must orbit the Sun at just the right distance with just the right axial tilt in a right-shaped orbit, with the right planetary neighbors, including a moon of the right size at just the right distance. And let’s just focus on our moon and what it does. You know, the moon’s gravitational pull causes the Earth’s tidal rise and fall, playing critical roles in affecting coastal environments and broader systems, effectively acting as a circulatory system for the Earth.
SPEAKER 01 : 50:25
Amazing.
SPEAKER 05 : 50:26
For the oceans. The oceans are vast, and if they were stagnant, they would die, and we wouldn’t get the benefit of localized coastal and marine ecosystems that need to be nourished by the movement of water, which is all done by this tide. And without tidal energy input, the deeper ocean layers would, as I said, become stagnant and stratified, and they’d slow down. They’d slow down the global overturning circulation and altering how heat and CO2 are stored and distributed. I mean, this story doesn’t even enter. You know, this is a reality. And yet the people that are concerned about CO2 emissions and so forth, they don’t recognize that the creator really took care of it all in structuring things the way they are. And these processes are linked to climate regulation issues. and consistency. In other words, we can kind of count on the seasons and the temperatures. And of course, this affects agriculture, planting and so forth. And tidal currents flush nutrients from land and deeper waters into coastal areas and oxygenate water that sustains life. And such currents play a critical role in in keeping our environment clean by removing waste and pollutants. And we take all this for granted. But if we changed even small parts of this, the system wouldn’t work. So how is it possible that that all just happened by chance, that the odds are extraordinarily low? Statistically, they would be, I don’t even know, one in a trillion or something. The collective improbability of these and other factors that explain reality suggests that everything in the universe, our solar system and our Earth, came into being by design and for a purpose. And what I say in the early part of the article is that we find that mysteries and unsolved problems drive discovery. They drive our nature. It’s our human nature to want to solve problems. But really greater advancement could take place when people have a common agreement about the fundamental foundation and design of life. And such an understanding provides context and meaning and direction to human endeavors, while also deepening our connection with each other. Think about it. If we came to understand that we’re all in the same lifeboat, all human beings on this earth are in the same lifeboat, no one would want to sink the boat before being rescued. So if we had that consciousness, it would really change the way we view our lives, our lives in relation to other people. Such a recognition would you know, would mitigate conflict and wars and so forth. So it’s really incredible that there is this growing understanding in the scientific community. So many people have always assumed that science is divorced from anything theistic, that, you know, the theory of evolution really drove a lot of people’s thinking about how life developed. When, in fact, you have to have more faith to believe in evolution than to believe in God, because there’s so many unexplained gaps. And evolution has many, many gaps in it that can’t really be explained. There are assumptions that are made in evolution that are simply not explainable. But a theistic explanation, of course… really helps us understand that we are designed for a purpose and it gives meaning to our life. And let’s just think about how if all people working in medicine and the pharmaceutical industry had a theistic view, they recognize that God created it all and that good health is arrived at by applying natural solutions to disease. If science was driven to truly cure disease, if the medical pharmaceutical industry was all about finding cures for disease rather than maintaining us, rather than milking us for money to treat our symptoms but not the disease, you know, the whole practice of medicine and pharmaceuticals would be transformed.
SPEAKER 14 : 55:42
Well, and to that, we’ve got about a minute left, Scott Powell. But we have to realize that we can be proactive ourselves and that we can make these particular choices regarding our health and do our research. Although here in Colorado, we talked with Erin Meshke just the other day. She writes at Substack under the reluctant activist that there is a vaccine immunization bill that is going through place. The legislature here, which would be, I think, really about force and coercion. So we’ve got to realize that we are sovereign individuals, that we can be proactive regarding ourselves and our families and take it from there. Scott Powell, we’ve got about 20 seconds left. How would you like to wrap this up?
SPEAKER 05 : 56:33
Well, I would say that if we were to wrap it up, we’d have to say that we’re really actually You and I are optimists, Kim, because we recognize that we’re on the threshold of greater discovery, and with that discovery, we will flourish even more. And this is sort of a quiet, behind-the-scenes, growing reconciliation between the trust in science and the trust in God. And I think the bringing together of these two worlds as we go into the future… is going to have a dramatic and positive effect on the economy and on how we live our lives, how we solve problems, how we direct resources to solve human problems.
SPEAKER 14 : 57:23
You and I, yes, we are both optimists. And Scott Powell, I thank you for that. And our quote for the end of the show is Epictetus. He said this, it’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. So today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, strive for high ideals like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you’re not alone. God bless you. God bless America. Stay tuned for hour number two.

On an equal field in the battle of ideas, mistruths and misconceptions is getting us into a world of hurt.
SPEAKER 19 : 58:51
Is it freedom or is it force? Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 14 : 58:57
Indeed, let’s have a conversation, and welcome to our number two of the Kim Monson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You each are treasured, you’re valued, you have purpose. Today, strive for excellence, take care of your heart, your soul, your mind, and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment in history. Thank you to the team. There’s three different levels, $50 a year, $100 a year, or $200 a year. And for the first 200 that join, excuse me, 250 people that join at that $200 level, you will be noted as a founding member. patron and while you’re at the website check it out it’s uh what zach has created there is just amazing it’s beautiful and we will be uh probably kicking off our daily digest at the beginning of may and that will be a digest that will uh with news articles that will appear in your inbox monday through friday in the afternoon and but you have to sign up for that And you can email me at Kim at KimMonson.com. And the text line is 720-605-0647. And I thank all of you who support us because I do buy my airtime for both the Kim Monson Show and America’s Veterans Stories. But that keeps us independent. And that means that we can always search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And socialism is not about free stuff. That is just the carrot to get people to vote for it. Ultimately, socialism has to come down to force because, as Maggie Thatcher said, Ultimately, with socialism, you run out of other people’s money. And if you can’t get them to give it to you by voting or whatever, then ultimately it comes down to force. But that is why our elections are so important. And we’ve got to make sure that we have free, fair, honest, and transparent elections. And last night, Johnny’s been talked about birthright citizenship and also talked about the SAVE Act. Save America Act. And it’s just reasonable that you have to show ID if you are going to vote. I traveled recently. Everybody has to show ID to get onto an airplane, except if you were a bunch of those illegal immigrants that came in during the Biden administration and they just put you on airplanes and flew you all over the country. But otherwise, all of us everyday Americans have to make sure that we show ID to get on an airplane when We should expect the same for our elections as well. And our word of the day, well, a couple of things. I wanted to say thank you to the Harris family for their goal sponsorship of the show. And I also wanted to say thank you to the Roger Mangan Insurance team and Laramie Energy. They have become goal sponsors of the Kim Monson community and the Kim Monson newsroom as well. And so greatly appreciate them for that. Our word of the day is ephemeral. And it’s E-P-H-E-M-E-R-A-L. It could be lasting a very short time, short-lived or transitory. I wish that the Colorado State Legislative Session was ephemeral. It’s too long as it is. We’re coming in on the last three weeks. So hold the… Hold your horses on this because it could be quite interesting. But ephemeral is lasting a very short time, short-lived, transitory. Number two, lasting but one day. Number three, anything short-lived as with certain insects. And our quote of the day is from Epictetus. And he was a Greek philosopher. And he was born in 50 A.D. He died in 135 A.D. And he was a Greek Stoic philosopher who spent most of his life as a slave. He eventually was freed. But really thoughtful quotes as I was going through these. But he said this back right after the time of Christ. My dad also said this to me on a regular basis. He said, be careful with whom you associate with. It is human to imitate the habits of those whom we interact. We inadvertently adopt their interests, their opinions, their values, and their habit of interpreting events. And that is Epictetus. Our bill of the day. is House Bill 26-1326, the Sunset Public Utilities Commission. And the sponsors on this are all Democrats, Representative Monica Duran, Representative Ginny Wilford, Senator Robert Rodriguez, and Senator Lisa Cutter. And this is CUT’s position on this, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. And join us. You can do that by going to coloradotaxpayer.org. But it says, this bill extends the life of the Public Utilities Commission until 2037 and expands its mission and authorities. The PUC under the bill would be authorized to conduct private conversations outside of adjudicatory matters and to use email in its business, which this, I think, becomes a real transparency challenge. It says the bill directs the PUC to investigate how the state can increase participation in income-based energy assistance programs, study the finances of privately held water utilities, and study owners’ new regulations for rideshare companies. This summary cannot list all. The new elements of a 44-page bill. This bill empowers bureaucratic mission creep. The PUC was originally formed to protect consumers from monopoly utilities, and now it is merely a tail being wagged by a control-centric governor and legislature. It has become a favorite hammer for those politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties, those PBIs under the Gold Dome who seek to control every aspect of hardworking Coloradans’ lives. This governor-appointed PUC board and its three should be replaced by a board elected by the people. And I need to continue to shed light on this particular bill because this puts in place this bureaucracy that really can control every aspect of our lives. Think about it. Water and energy, how we heat our homes, cool our homes, all of these things controlled by three people that are… are appointed by the governor with this. So they have enormous power and they haven’t been unafraid to wield that power over all of us. And I did reach out to Carrie giblets regarding the transmission of, the industrial transmission line in Elbert County. And the PUC, my understanding has, through their evidentiary hearing, has overrode the decision of the people that live there, the Elbert County commissioners. And these industrial transmission lines, these industrial solar projects, these industrial wind projects are huge land grabs throughout the Midwest. And of course, Virginia Maka, I was out in southeastern Kansas with her last week. And we were talking about some of these industrial transmission, wind and solar projects. And people, now that they realize what is happening, They’re becoming involved. But many times people don’t know what’s going to be going in right next to their property until it starts to happen. And that’s why the work that Wendy Volk is doing up in Wyoming, shedding light on the Wyoming wind wall, is so important. And so we’ve got to continue to shed light on all of these different things that are happening out there. And it happens because of our sponsors. Wanted to mention Little Richie’s. They’re your local neighborhood spot where you can get authentic New York style pizza and pasta. They’re locally owned, serving Parker and Golden for over 20 years. Monday night is buy one pizza, get the second pizza half off. And in Parker, they’re pouring half-priced bottles of wine. And Tuesdays are for families. Kids eat free after 4 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entree. And Saturdays are Calzone Day. You buy one calzone, you get the second calzone half off. And those are very, very delicious. So be sure and check out Little Richie’s. That’s L-I-L. Richie’s is R-I-C-C-I-S for great pasta and pizza. And they are located in Parker and in Golden. SPEAKER 03 : 72:16
Hi, Kim. I can’t believe it’s been a week already.
SPEAKER 14 : 72:20
Well, I know it. So what have you been up to this week?
SPEAKER 03 : 72:24
Well, today I’m in Verona, Wisconsin. I was here with Minitube International, and they are obviously an international company that manufacture, produce all equipment needed for artificial insemination. So we’ve been talking sperm for the last three days, two days.
SPEAKER 14 : 72:45
Okay. Well, that’s important because that’s important ultimately for people to have food to eat, right?
SPEAKER 1 : 72:52
100%.
SPEAKER 03 : 72:54
That is what it’s about. And the efficiencies that come along with that. And it’s been really interesting because I’m saying, and I think there’s seven countries represented at this event. And I had the good fortune yesterday to speak and was received pretty well. And I wasn’t just conforming to what everybody wanted to hear. I was throwing out some real challenges. And we’ve got some major challenges. And the number one challenge that I threw out to this group is that these people 100% sustain their livelihood from the production. This happened to be a pig meeting, even though Minitube is involved in equine and fisheries and beef and dairy and all other things. This was a pig meeting. And I’m I walked through how we support technology and three of the largest investors in the world in cell cultured proteins and alternative proteins to the animal proteins that we consume are the three big beef packer, meat packers. I shouldn’t just say beef packers, but it’s Cargill, Tyson and JBS Swift. And I assure you that there are people who are employed by those companies present who in the room, and I assure you, Kim, they’d never thought about their own company working at potentially eliminating their jobs. But that’s what’s taking place.
SPEAKER 14 : 74:21
And how so? I mean, we talk about this all the time, but just clarify that exactly. What was this big aha that you brought forth for these folks?
SPEAKER 03 : 74:31
I’ll just use the JBS example because JBS is owned by a Brazilian family, the Batista family. They obviously have a huge presence in Colorado and everywhere all across this country. They’re number one meat production company in the world of animals. I’ve been in JBS harvest facilities in Australia myself. They’ve got the beef plant in Greeley. They’re number one in all meat production in the world. But they’re also in the top five investors in alternative to animal protein. And Cargill is number two. And so here we have the companies that have been a vital part of meat production and providing that for people. And I could give the case in point on why it’s important that we continue to have animals generating our protein as opposed to a lab. But For example, JBS Swift is the largest plant-based protein supplier in the world. So they’re the largest meat protein supplier, and they’re complying with what comes out of the World Economic Forum, where they have stated that by 2035, 60% of global protein consumption will come from an alternative to animal protein.
SPEAKER 14 : 75:53
And so will this ultimately have to be a force will be involved? Well, I guess in a way, if you take away people’s choices, that is a form of force.
SPEAKER 03 : 76:04
Yes, that’s correct. And that’s exactly what is going to take place.
SPEAKER 14 : 76:10
OK. And so this aha by these people in the audience, did they come up and talk with you about that at all?
SPEAKER 03 : 76:20
They were reluctant to talk about it because it was such a shock to the system, to be honest. Some were just over the top happy that finally somebody aired this and put it in the public purview, so to speak. But I’ll give you an example. You know, you remember and everybody will remember walking into a restaurant that serves lobster. And 20 years ago, 30 years ago, when you walked into a restaurant that serves lobster, what was the first thing you saw when you walked in the door?
SPEAKER 14 : 76:49
The lobster.
SPEAKER 03 : 76:50
a tank with lobsters and you could pick out whichever one you wanted.
SPEAKER 14 : 76:55
Right.
SPEAKER 03 : 76:55
When was the last time you saw that?
SPEAKER 14 : 76:59
Oh, gosh, it’s been a while. I’m thinking that the restaurant, there’s a restaurant out West where I’ve seen that, but otherwise, no, I don’t see that very often anymore.
SPEAKER 03 : 77:13
And there was one guy from London. His name is Jeremy Kohler. C-O-L-L-A-R for anybody who wants to look him up. He’s an attorney. He is an animal rights activist, and he was the person, the one individual that started this global campaign that Christians, if I’m saying that correctly, lobsters and shrimp and things, are sentient beings, and we should not handle them the way that we’re handling them. And so that one guy changed everything. And if you look at his investing, manages, mutual funds. He manages investments for people. He’s currently managing $66 trillion in investments. And he’s the guy, and he’s the number one investor on cellular protein substances. And he’s the guy that says he’s going to change the diet of the global citizen.
SPEAKER 14 : 78:09
Hmm. Well, so let’s think about this plant-based diet. if they move to that, let’s think about, because the whole argument, they use climate change and all these different things as they’re attacking this great protein source of meat. But moving us over there, somebody has to raise that or to raise those crops, raise those plants. So what are they thinking there? Because there’s a lot of inputs that go into raising crops. So What’s your thoughts on that, Trent Lewis?
SPEAKER 03 : 78:44
There’s two things, and I don’t want anybody to be confused by the two things. Number one, for plant-based proteins, which would be peas, lentils, soybeans, you know, those crops, particularly legumes that are high in proteins, they can only be grown in certain regions. And if you look at the world, around 10% of the landmass is suitable for growing a crop. So 90% of the landmass cannot grow a crop that will feed a human being. So there’s going to be a very limited amount of plant-based proteins that can actually provide that protein dietary needs. What they’re angling for is taking a drop of a fetal. So they’ll have, let’s just use a cow. They’ll have a beef animal. They’ll take a, just a cell from a fetal, uh, unborn calf, they will mix that with an enzyme in a laboratory and they will create what I shouldn’t use probably sourdough bread, but it’s a very similar scenario where you have a starter and then you add an enzyme and you multiply that, right? Well, in this lab with these cellular alternative proteins, They will take the drop of the fetal with the cells. So they actually need the cells and the DNA. And then they add an enzyme and they add those until they start replicating the cells. And once they start that replication of the cells, it will grow indefinitely. So their vision is that they can have a few animals take a fetal cellular structure, mix it with an enzyme and feed the world protein.
SPEAKER 14 : 80:34
Do you think that it’s because they really want to feed people or do you think that there’s some ulterior motive?
SPEAKER 03 : 80:43
It is. There’s always ulterior motive. But in order for this to happen, you will have very few people involved in the production of food and it will be completely consolidated and controlled. Now, one of the other investors that obviously gets talked about a lot is a guy named Bill Gates, who just continues to throw money at projects like this. And interestingly enough, he is also, through a company out of the Netherlands, been buying beef and dairy genetic outlets, such as Transova, such as some bull studs. He bought Lee Leachman’s cattle operation also up on the front range. he is very invested in Memphis Meats, which is doing this exact thing. Right now, they say, Kim, that chicken produced in this manner costs $6,000 a pound. So that’s their limiting factor. Once they get that, and I’m sure they think through economies of scale and bigger demand, they’re going to get that to where it’s affordable to everybody to compete at $2 a pound. But at the end of the day, they’re removing the animal from nature. And we have animals to provide health and balance in the ecosystem. The more animals you have, the more plants you need because animals eat plants. The more plants you have, the healthier the planet is. You cannot achieve the necessary number of plants to maintain planet health without animals. It’s how God created it. And they’re disrupting God’s natural cycle.
SPEAKER 14 : 82:30
Yeah, it seems like this is somewhat the Tower of Babylon where people are trying to be God. And that never works out very well at Trent Luce when humans get into that particular situation. We’re going to continue the discussion with Trent Luce. I did want to mention the USMC Memorial Foundation. Their big golf tournament is May 14th. So get your foursome together, sign up. You can go to usmcmemorialfoundation.org. for all the information. So it’s a great day of golf. It’s also a great way to support the foundation that remembers and honors and keeps these stories alive of those that have put on the uniform and given their lives or been willing to give their lives for our freedom. And we get to talk about all this because of our sponsors. And a new sponsor, really pleased to have them, is Radiance Power.
SPEAKER 15 : 83:21

They’re always doing something super interesting right now. Check out the podcast of Drew Dix and Brad Padula. Words from the silo. The two of them have just such an important perspective, and I recommend that you add them into your repertoire as you are searching for truth and clarity on these particular issues. That website is AmericanValueCenter.org. We’re talking with Trent Luce, and Trent, we’ve been talking about these, I have this in quotes, plant-based solutions. And so you talked about this. I don’t know what do you call it exactly, but it’s it would be lab protein. What is it?
SPEAKER 03 : 86:22
Cell cultured protein. What they actually did, Kim, was they figured out how cancer reproduces in the human body and they replicated the cancer approach to produce your food.
SPEAKER 14 : 86:35
Somehow I don’t like the way any of this sounds. But you also had mentioned a plant-based diet, which would be beans and things like that. And Joe made an excellent point during the break. He said, have you really looked at people that are vegans, a vegan diet? He said, they’re missing protein and many times they’re not that healthy. And I think you’ve made that point before as well, Trent Luce.
SPEAKER 03 : 87:05
I’ve actually interviewed probably a dozen through 20 years that were recovering vegans. And it’s a fascinating thing as they start because they have one issue that maybe they think it’s healthier. Maybe they love animals and they don’t want to consume animals. There’s a whole number of reasons why they start. And then once they get into this cult, which that’s exactly what it is, is a cult. they start feeling poorly because it goes beyond the protein. When I talk about nutrient-dense beef, it’s beyond protein on what really enables the body and the zinc and the vitamin B12 and all the threonine, all of the amino acids that really make your body work. And they hang with their folks and they tell them, you’re just not vegan enough. So then they really work harder at being better vegans to the point where they just simply can’t function. One interesting story that is a bit of history is in 1908, I think Upton Sinclair wrote the book, The Jungle. And it is the book that ultimately changed how labor laws were put in place. While he was writing that book to… bring everybody to his vegan way of thinking because he was a vegan. He thought that he would create such a horrible picture of what was happening in the meat plants, and particularly Chicago, that people would stop eating meat. Well, shortly after he wrote the book, his own physician told him that if you’re going to continue to live, you’ve got to start eating meat or you’re going to die. I mean, it’s no accident why all of these components were put on earth for us to take care of, to be stewards of the land, to be stewards of the animal. And then they, in turn, it’s a symbiotic relationship with the whole structure and the cycle of life. Again, we’re back to where we were in the last segment. We have people trying to disrupt that cycle of life, and being a vegan is not part of it.
SPEAKER 14 : 89:09
Wow. And we had Scott Powell on in the first hour and basically was talking about intelligent design. And so people that think that they can play God, it does not work out well. Let’s change subjects here, because last week after you were on the show, I flew out to Bentonville, Arkansas, which I’d never been to Arkansas before. And oh, my gosh, what a beautiful area. and then I did a couple of days with Virginia Maka in Southeast Kansas, and we had done a story. She talked about this big NextEra meeting last Thursday that was scheduled in Rice County, Kansas. NextEra ended up not showing up, and you texted me yesterday and said that you have some additional info on that. So what’s the deal?
SPEAKER 03 : 90:02
Rice County, Kansas was the second county in Kansas to permit a wind development center years ago, and Rice County got burned. They got stuck with the decommissioning, and there’s still a bad taste in the mouth. I don’t know why this project got as far as it did, but I wanted to talk about it because there are people trying to give credit for Nextera leaving Rice County that don’t deserve credit. The credit goes to the county commissioners. who just knew what the repercussions of this were going to be. And it’s unlike next year to pull out of anywhere, but they did because this was just a hard no.
SPEAKER 14 : 90:45
OK. And with that, we’ve had the PUC here in Colorado override the decisions of the commissioners in Albert County. And so we’ve got we’ve got to. And then I just had talked about it as well is there’s a piece of legislation going through. which was regarding the sunset of the PUC, the Public Utilities Commission, which would extend it into 2037 and increase their power here in Colorado. What do you think we should do about all this, Trent Luce?
SPEAKER 03 : 91:18
Well, and then you’ve got the complication of Donald Trump himself being the champion for AI data centers. And really, he went to Saudi Arabia May a year ago, secured billions of dollars to get that kickstarted. And then in January of this year issued this proclamation, it was executive order of emergency act for the shortage of electricity and power that we have. And then two days ago on the 20th, you can go on the whitehouse.gov and read his presidential declaration, which said that we are in emergency. We cannot supply the energy needs, electricity needs of what the current demands are, which by the way, he created. And so if you read what he said in this proclamation, which I read last night, it says that projects like Elbert County are not going to be decided locally. We’re going to take control of these. We’re going to take land and we’re going to build an infrastructure that we want because the demand is there. Again, it’s a demand that was created by government. And now he’s pretending that the government needs to supply what’s needed. This is 100 percent to benefit foreign investors. It has nothing to do with the local people.
SPEAKER 14 : 92:28
What’s that executive order number again?
SPEAKER 03 : 92:30
It wasn’t an executive order. It was a presidential declaration. Okay. And it’s right at WhiteHouse.gov. Give me a second. I can read to you the title of that. But I just remind everybody that when the big ugly bill was first presented and the House voted to pass it, it contained a provision specifically from Donald Trump that said we are going to eliminate all local control and AI data centers that we’re going to govern these and permit these from a federal standpoint. The Senate changed that. 17 governors from around the nation said we’re not going to stand for this. And so thanks to 17 governors that got pulled out. But he’s still trying to govern like as if the states have no control about these initiatives.
SPEAKER 14 : 93:18
OK, I’ve got homework to do to read that. What does next week hold for you, Trent Luce?
SPEAKER 03 : 93:26
Um, I’m going to read to this, this presidential determination, the title, if you want to look at it, presidential determination per pursuit to section three Oh three of the defense production act of 1950 as amended on development, manufacturing, and deployment of large scale energy and energy related infrastructure. That’s the title. It was authored on April 20th, two days ago.
SPEAKER 14 : 93:53
Okay. And… This is all I can say right now is this is extremely troubling. I’m going to have to to read this because this being out in western Kansas, these transmission lines, these industrial transmission lines are changing people’s lives. And I find it hard to believe that if Trump understood this, that he I’m not sure that they understand all this. So I I don’t know. This is very troubling. Trent Luce, very, very troubling.
SPEAKER 03 : 94:28
Along those lines, I had a tremendous meeting that I attended Thursday night in Thedford, Nebraska, where they’re trying to put in what they call the R line, which is exactly what you just described, these massive transmission lines. And to be fair, they’ve been trying to do this since 2015. And the folks locally have held it off, but they’re surveying and starting. There’s a lot of things happening. And we had a great crowd. Fedford, Nebraska is a very rural area, and we had over 100 people show up at this meeting. It was fantastic. But I use the analogy of just last week had Spike and Kelly Goss on, who are ranchers in Ontario, not Ontario, Otero County, New Mexico. And his family, Spike’s family, has been ranching since 1890 on this 246,000 acres, which is mostly U.S. Forest Service ground. In 1920, they were permitted to run 1,450 cows on this acreage of land. Currently, they are limited to 150 cows because the U.S. Forest Service says that they just can’t run more cows than that because there are three endangered species, one plant, two animals. We’ve got to protect those plants and animals. It takes precedent over what you’re doing with cows. So the same amount of land And now they’re being told that they’ve got to go to 70 cows. Kim, we don’t have families that can sustain a living with 500 cows in a cow-calf operation, let alone 150 cows. And they’re doing all of that in the name of protecting endangered species. Fast forward to the R line, which I talked about, that wants to shoot through the pristine sandhills of Nebraska. Do you know how many endangered species, do you know how many ecosystems are going to be disrupted by putting in this power line? So the very same government that chases a family off of land that they’ve been taking care of since before the Forest Service was created in the name of protecting species, that same government wants to come to the pristine sand hills of Nebraska and really they have had Fish and Wildlife look and evaluate and study what the impact would be to all species, but it’s just hypocrisy at the highest level.
SPEAKER 14 : 96:52
Okay. Well, I’m a bit speechless on what to do about this right now. Exactly. So we’ll continue the discussion. We’re talking with Trent Luce. He is a sixth generation rancher from Nebraska. And we have these discussions because of our sponsors. And one of those is John Bozen and Bozen Law.

Welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. Check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N dot com. I’ve got Trent Luce on the line, sixth generation rancher from Nebraska. And I’m trying to find this. Did you say this was a proclamation by the White House, Trent?
SPEAKER 03 : 100:03
Presidential declaration.
SPEAKER 14 : 100:05
OK, so that would not be.
SPEAKER 03 : 100:06
I’m going to send it to you.
SPEAKER 14 : 100:07
Yeah, I do, because I’m trying to find it and I’m not finding it under proclamation. So I must be looking at the wrong thing. So maybe briefings and statements. So, yeah, I want to take a look at that. Okay. And so let’s continue on. We’ve got Gammy on the line. Gammy, what is on your radar?
SPEAKER 18 : 100:29
Well, I have a new thing. First, today is 005, the ICE one, and 1269 Transit Access. And I signed up already to speak and I already wrote 1269. Thursday is the Forks and Knives 146 and 1326 PUC 1114 lot and 1313 affordable housing. Just FYI. Now, here’s my message for today for you and Trent. Trent, I love everything you said. We need a video of all of these destructive things. high transmission and solar and wind walls, everything. We need it to be graphic because a picture is worth a thousand words. So somebody needs to do that. Now, my point today, which you really nailed home, and I listened to you first, so I get a lot of stuff from you. Culling the herd. I’m going to make a video on this. Who owns the cattle on a thousand hills? And now I’m going to make you a list of how they’re going to cull our herd. Eggs. They feed the chickens, which goes into the eggs. Why? No store eggs, even organic, are any good. Hospitals. Thousands of fake doctors and nurses like spies. This was in an expose yesterday. COVID flu vaccine content. The test. Unhinged pharma. Fake food, meat. The big box stores all selling Gates’s death foods. World Economic Forum a la the air, the cloud seeding, geoengineering, crowded housing, dump cars, mass transit, crooked judges, let the criminals out and jail the good guys, energy rationing, water rationing, electricity rationing, overdeveloping and crowding us and the AI data nightmare. take over our lands, which we’ve been seeing, reduce the food production, poison all the food, whether it’s beef, cow, or pork, with the soils, with the feed, everything going crazy, and then eminent domain to take it ahead of time. If you add all this, and I’m missing a few things, but it’s all bio, geo, and social engineering, it is all tied into culling the herd.
SPEAKER 14 : 103:00
Okay, that’s pretty, this is all very, very sobering. And we can’t give up hope. We’ve got to continue to be engaged. And we’ve got to give this. We’ve got to pray about this and ask for God’s guidance on these particular big issues. And while it seems daunting, 250 years ago at this time, it was daunting also. when people that love liberty, which is the responsible exercise of freedom, said that they were going to take on the biggest empire on the face of the earth. And they were doing this as faithful human beings to do so. So we cannot give up on this. And it certainly is daunting. Trent, a couple of things. And thank you, Gammy. And Gammy is tireless in making sure that she is engaging with legislation down at the Statehouse. And I thank her for that. So a couple of things. First of all, I forgot to mention it, but today is Earth Day, Trent Luce. What’s your thoughts on that?
SPEAKER 03 : 104:05
Every day is Earth Day. Every day we take care of the land properly. We build soil health. We do what we can to be the steward of the land and the animals that enables life.
SPEAKER 14 : 104:17
Okay, well said. Next thing, we’ve got two things that people need to be doing. One is making their voices heard at the Federal Register regarding the wolf population. Introduction in Colorado. And the way I got to that is I just put in Federal Register Colorado Wolves. And it took me directly to that particular website and where I can make public comments. And so just do a search for that. And then the other thing is regarding making comments. And this is due by May 3rd. the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and their commercial fur ban. So those two things are really important here in Colorado to make your voices heard. And what I did on that is I just put in a CPW or Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the commercial fur ban, and it brought that up as well. So your thoughts on those two things right now, Trent Luce?
SPEAKER 03 : 105:20
Well, I think those two things tie in with the overall message of the day. And I don’t identify these challenges in front of us to remove hope. I have 100% belief in the resolve of the American citizen once we focus on what’s really happening. And I try to bring focus on what’s really happening. And at the end of the day, whether it’s a wolf issue, a fur ban, or AI data centers, the movement is to remove local control. And that includes state, that includes county. And this intrusion on Albert County, I think is a perfect case in point why we need to fight harder. Because when we lose local control, we lose freedom.
SPEAKER 14 : 105:59
Well, and we’re seeing that within legislation as well down at the state house, local control of our communities. And Mike Rolick was on in our number one, and there’s a lot splitting bill that I think he said it’s going to be heard tomorrow. And one of the things that he said, and we also saw this with House Bill 261001, is A, removing local control, B, But B, having those decisions made administratively, which means not going through the processes that are in place for approval for projects. So that means bureaucrats who are unaccountable to the people, they’re unelected, that they will be the ones that will be making those decisions. And then whenever you move those decisions away, as you say, from the local level and start to move it up the chain, it goes to county, it goes to state when these should be local issues. And ultimately the federal government, as you mentioned, then that’s where we get into problems. So Jenny had texted me regarding, we were talking about electricity, but we need to be moving away from centralization to decentralization. And she made a good point where every little community needs, years and years ago had their own little power plant. And I think we need to start to reclaim that. And there’s new creative things that are happening in that arena, Trent Luce.
SPEAKER 03 : 107:29
That is the answer. It’s absolutely the answer. It eliminates the need for transmission lines. It eliminates that whole central control. And in fact, I can take you to a community in Nebraska that was just told they had to get rid of their independent power supply of generation of electricity by Nebraska Public Power.
SPEAKER 14 : 107:52
And one has to ask why? So is Nebraska Power, is that a monopoly or is that the bureaucracy?
SPEAKER 03 : 108:02
Nebraska Public Power, Nebraska is unique and the United States is where the only state that is 100% served by co-op of Nebraska Public Power. But what happened in 2021 is is six people who were funded, their campaigns were funded by George Soros, got on the Nebraska Public Power District Board, and we’ve had struggles ever since. Ever since then, their strive has been for net carbon zero, not providing reliable, affordable electricity.
SPEAKER 14 : 108:33
So, Trent, what do you think is going to happen from here?
SPEAKER 03 : 108:36
I think that we are going to have to determine what happens. And again, I repeat, I only bring these things up because It happens when we’re sleeping. We don’t pay attention. We need to engage like we’ve never, we all need to be gammy. I mean, you have to engage at that level in order to be heard because we’re being trampled on.
SPEAKER 14 : 109:00
From a time standpoint, I think that people need to decide on one issue because we all can’t be gammy. And she is tireless. But people need to at least choose one thing and become engaged in it. We have provided with the Colorado Union of Taxpayers Cut Engaged, where people can make their voices heard online. on four or five key pieces of legislation each week, and it takes about five minutes. So everybody can take five minutes. We all have a responsibility to take five minutes. And we also, if we will get engaged in the issue that we really care about, then I think that we can change things because realistically, people can’t just all be gammy. It’s just not possible.
SPEAKER 03 : 109:56
I think you should spend your time focusing on knowing where your food is coming from for the future.
SPEAKER 14 : 110:03
Okay. I think that that’s a good one.
SPEAKER 03 : 110:06
That’s something you need to know.
SPEAKER 14 : 110:10
Food, water, electricity, all those things.
SPEAKER 03 : 110:12
And electricity. And absolutely. Finding an alternative source of electricity. I mean, unless you like going to the outhouse, you’re going to want to keep electricity. And You think that sounds like an extreme measure. There are people around the world wish they had electricity 24-7. They do not.
SPEAKER 14 : 110:30
Right. And instead of having the World Economic Forum and their agenda trying to have Americans go down with their standard of living and become like third world countries, which we’ve imported a lot of third world stuff into our country, it seems like we would want to export human flourishing and thriving. And so those are the big questions that we talk about all the time. So 30 seconds, Trent Luce, wrap this up.
SPEAKER 03 : 111:02
Look in the mirror. That’s the most important person to dictate your future. Don’t sit back and expect somebody in a elected position to take care of what you need going forward.
SPEAKER 14 : 111:14
And one other thing, we need to engage with those people that are in elected offices because otherwise they’re in an echo chamber and they just hear what the bureaucrats and all the interested parties say. And so we need to engage. Always interesting, Trent Luce. And thank you to Gammy for her. her important work that she’s doing. And our quote for the end of the show is from Epictetus. It says, it’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters. So my friends today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice. and the American Way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you. God bless America. And be sure and check out our website. That is kimMonson.com and join the community so that we can connect, converse, and contemplate on these big, big ideas.
SPEAKER 06 : 112:07
Through the rain and lightning, wandering out into this great heart. And I don’t want no one to cry. But tell them if I don’t survive.
