As you know, we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And it’s not compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff, and whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, childhoods, or lives via force. And force can be a weapon, policy, unpredictable and excessive taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, compliance, the World Economic Forum’s agenda played out through the globalist elite’s agenda as well, the United Nations, this Colorado state legislature, the Colorado governor, but now we’re seeing it on the local level through a variety of things such as land use codes and zoning regulations, force fees, those kinds of things. Remember, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. And on the show, we focus on the issues, and we’ll mention the people involved pushing those issues but we’re staying out of the eighth grade girl fighting that we see so many times in politics our word of the day is nexus and it’s spelled n-e-x-u-s and it could be a means of connection a link or tie a number two a connected series or group or number three the core or center And we’re going to, I think, continue to talk about speech and how hate speech would be the nexus to shutting down our voices. So your challenge is to use the word nexus in a sentence today. And I’ll talk more about hate speech, because I remember when I first started to hear that and when I first started to hear bullying, I thought that I thought, well, I’m uncomfortable, certainly with those two things. But freedom of speech is the fact that people can say uncomfortable things. And I remember I was in a discussion. This was early on in this whole journey of mine. And I remember I was in a conversation with, I would say, a really radical activist gay man. And he was pushing that we needed to clamp down on hate speech. And I agreed with him that people shouldn’t engage in hate speech, but that freedom of speech, even to say uncomfortable things, is important. And he brought up the example of Matthew Shepard, which was a young gay man that was found He was found murdered in Wyoming. And there’s conflicting stories about exactly what happened there. But he brought up the story of Matthew Shepard and why we should not have hate speech. And I said, well, actually, we have laws against murder. We do not need to have laws against hate speech because who defines what hate speech is? And we have laws. He said, well, and this was again, this was really pretty much early on in the gay movement. He said, well, that gays are bullied or people say things to them. And I said, well… Again, the freedom to say uncomfortable things is important. And he said, oh, and people beat people up. I said, there are laws against that. And we’re in a very dangerous position right now in our country regarding speech with the murder, assassination of… Charlie Kirk, what we’re seeing is people are dusting off control of speech on really on both sides of the aisle. And so we’ve got to really watch what’s happening here. We need to be. We need to be responsible citizens. We need to be striving for truth and for excellence. And when you do that, you’re typically not over here in what would be defined as bullying and hate speech. But we have to we’re in a really dangerous time. So we’re going to be talking about that. And so let’s continue on. The quote of the day is from Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743. He died July 4, 1826, which was the same day that John Adams died. And they had been enemies and friends. And it’s just, it’s amazing what happens sometimes. Sorry about that. I’m not sure if you’re all hearing that. I’m getting an Amber Alert, and I don’t know how to turn that off, so sorry about that. Anyway, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day, July 4, 1826, 50 years to the day after the Declaration of Independence was signed. And Jefferson was an American founding father, the third president, and he was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. And he said this. He said, when the people are afraid of the government, that’s tyranny. Here we go. When people are afraid of the government, that’s tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that’s liberty. And so that’s Thomas Jefferson. Some of the headlines that I wanted to go through, and this is regarding Jimmy Kimmel. The Daily Wire reported that Disney caves, apparently a number of Disney… …

This is the Colorado Bureau of Investigation with an Amber Child Abduction Alert. We have received this important announcement regarding an abducted child from Boulder. The Boulder Police Department is searching for 16-year-old Jasmine Zapata last seen in Boulder at about 8 o’clock yesterday evening. Jasmine is described as a Hispanic, female, with brown eyes and black hair, 5 feet and 5 inches tall, and weighing 110 pounds. Jasmine was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. Investigators believe Jasmine may have been taken by force by 19-year-old, Hispanic, male, Juan Bredadu and another unknown male and may be traveling in a two-door gray Chevy Silverado bearing Colorado license plate A-W-X-L-5-2 that was last seen at Thornton Parkway and Gale Boulevard in Thornton at 8.57 yesterday evening. The truck has a lime green tympano sticker in the bottom left rear windshield. If you have any information regarding this abduction, immediately call 911.

And so but then the next headline is that Sinclair, the broadcast group, says that they don’t want to air Jimmy Kimmel. And I think that they can do that as well. And so this is this is messy. And I’m working to get my brain around this whole issue. One other headline before we get to our next guest, and they are blaming this on Trump, but it is really because of the radical activist policies of the Colorado governor, this Colorado legislature. But this was reported by CBS News Colorado that Colorado is teetering on the edge of a recession. And that was Mike Faradino, the executive director of the governor’s Office of State Planning and Budget, says that the state has a 50-50 chance of going into recession. And this is the reasons that he said he’s going to blame it on tariffs, immigration policy, and federal spending. And, of course, tariffs is over on the federal side. But immigration policy by this governor and the mayor of Denver, they have to own what they have done and how much money they’ve spent on illegal immigration. And we’ve got to cut federal spending. And it was never the proper role of government that the federal government would be taxing all of us and borrowing from our children to give money to the states. That was never supposed to happen. And so we are, as Trump is working to get government back into its proper role, we at the county, local or the local jurisdictions, county and state level, need to get government back into its proper role as well. And one of the ways is to stop the money flow. And so, again, this is another important, important, important issue, and that is to stop the money. And it is important that we engage in conversations, obviously. And the Arapahoe County Republican Party is going to have a great conversation with Laura Logan. And we have Debbie Perry-Smith on the line. She’s one of the organizers. Debbie, welcome to the show.

Awesome. I’m glad you appreciate that. So tell us what is going on regarding the upcoming event.

Well, really excited. Rappahoe County is very excited to bring to your listening audience. Laura Logan, The Tip of the Spear, Lincoln Day Dinner, Thursday, October 2nd. It’s one week from this Thursday. We are just thrilled to bring the remarkable journalist award-winning course award correspondent to Arapahoe County. And please know that everyone is invited. We even have somebody from Texas coming in for this event to see and be with community, to be with like-minded people that are ready to put their boots on and get going. And I think this is going to be a great evening of just, we have incredible, incredible meal plans, uh, just community getting together, uh, And just really solidifying our resolve that we’re not going to let Colorado, Arapahoe County go down the tubes. It’s time for us to take back, you know, take back one of our big counties on the front range, turn it, you know, make it great again.

Well, and Debbie, it’s been really interesting as we are in this whole free speech discussion now. And this is foundational to America because freedom of speech is first and foremost in the Bill of Rights. And what has happened is the speech of many people. conservatives and Republicans has been shut down because there has been protests or threats to venues where events are being held. And so what has then happened is many times the venue is not publicized until closer to the event. What kind of information are you giving out regarding this event, which will be on Thursday, October 2nd?
SPEAKER 09 :
The very same thing, Kim. We are holding that tight to the vest. We are very cognizant of security, and that will not be released to anyone but to ticket holders a couple of days prior to the event. So, you know, we still have to be mindful. Our security is utmost, and we’re going to do that. But, you know, the show will go on, and we have a very good, very intentional security plan in place. So everyone can rest assured that it will be just a stress-free evening for sure.

I wanted to go back here for just a little bit regarding this headline that I teased. that CBS News says that Colorado is teetering on a recession. And Mike Ferrandino, the executive director of the governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting, is blaming tariffs, immigration policy, and federal spending. And the immigration policy, certainly that is the policies of this governor and of the mayor of Denver. They need to be responsible for that. Welcoming, as they welcomed all of these people to our city and our state who had come here illegally and then taking all kinds of money. As Pam Long has said, we need to talk about the word theft. So stealing really the money of hardworking Coloradans to push those policies. And then what happened is the Donald Trump administration said, we’re not going to be giving federal money to these cities with these sanctuary policies, right? We need to back up, first of all, and be talking about the proper role of government. And this was never the proper role of the federal government. The federal government was not to be taking on debt, which means that our citizens children and our grandchildren who have no say in taking on that debt, but taking on that debt for policies to push these government grants to states, counties, and local level. We need to have representatives at the local, the county, and the state level that are responsible for the decisions that they make and not be looking to the federal government for federal grants and money like that. And so… The state of Colorado had been depending on a lot of federal money, and the Trump administration said, we’re going to stop that. Well, that has created a big hole in the state budget, and so then what is happening is these PBIs, these politicians and bureaucrats and interested parties, are now looking to businesses, everyday people, to make up that budget deficit that they had. In the special session… They picked the pockets of the Colorado businesses and individuals to the tune of probably $250 million. Then with great fanfare, the governor said that he was cutting some spending, about $250 million and change. Still doesn’t address the shortfall. And so what really needs to happen, is that they need to cut spending. But they want to blame some of this on tariffs, which that may very well be. But I would say that these other policies are really the main thing. Of course, they’re going to want to blame Trump and everything that they possibly can. Another headline. This is from the Daily Wire. It says Google promises change after abuse list labeled GOP emails dangerous. Now, this again, we’re talking about freedom of speech. Here is a major corporation, big business business. Big government like each other, as you can see, and says Google is promising the Trump administration that it will end a practice that led to Republican fundraising emails being flagged as dangerous spam, according to a letter obtained by the Daily Wire. The commitment comes after Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson pressed Google over reports that his platform was filtering emails from Republican fundraising platform WinRed as spam while not applying the same scrutiny to the Democrat platform ActBlue. Google pinned the blame for the labeling on its partnership with a third-party company and committed to no longer using that company’s spam list, according to a Friday letter to Ferguson obtained by the Daily Wire. I have to ask why we’ve got our servers that are determining what is spam. I think that we need to be able to do that ourselves. Then the next headline, this is huge. This is from Newsmax. It says Trump ties autism risk to acetaminophen and scientists urge caution. And so RFK Jr. and what what he is doing over at with the Maha movement to make America healthy again. is really upsetting the cart regarding pharmaceuticals. So stay tuned on this. It said that President Trump has urged pregnant women not to take acetaminophen pain relievers like Tylenol over hotly debated link between the med and autism. Same time, he urged major changes to the standard vaccines given to babies. So we will continue those discussions as we continue to watch this light-breaking headline. Next, I wanted to continue on with this very important headline regarding President Trump urging pregnant women not to take acetaminophen pain relievers like Tylenol. And this is going to be a hotly debated link for sure between these meds and autism. And then the next headline here, this is from The Hill, and it goes on a little bit more regarding, it says, Trump suggests changes to childhood vaccine schedule based on what I feel. Now, they are going to go after him big time on, they’re going to say that that is not science, which that’s… That probably isn’t something that scientists would say, that I’m just going to make this recommendation on what I feel. But I know that he has probably been talking with RFK Jr., and sometimes Trump could use different words, I think. But anyway, the Hill goes on to say, and the Hill tends to, on their journalism, lean to the left, and you can see that. Anyway, this is what the Hill said. It said President Trump on Monday gave personal suggestions on how and when parents should have children receive certain vaccines, offering advice that he said was based on his own feelings during a press event that claimed links between Tylenol vaccinations and autism. He says, we want no mercury in the vaccine. We want no aluminum in the vaccine. The MMR, I think, should be taken separately, Trump said, referring to the vaccine for measles, mumps, and rubella. I totally agree with him. I think that science actually also backs this up, but they’re going to go after him because he’s saying this is just what he feels. And he said this, he said, this is based on what I feel, the mumps, measles, and the three should be taken separately. And it seems to be that when you mix them, there could be a problem. So there’s no downside in taking them separately. In fact, they think it’s better, so let it be separate. And in all of the years as we’ve had discussions with different scientists, different researchers, is that putting all of these vaccines into a little baby’s body at the same time really doesn’t make sense. And so to separate them out just makes a lot of sense. My understanding is, is with vaccine intake and doctors and the vaccine manufacturers is they want to try to do all these vaccines at the same time because they said that it’s more difficult to get parents to come back for the other vaccines. I think ultimately we’ve got to be focused on what is best for the child instead of what is best for the vaccine maker. And I need to get Pam Long on again, I think, to ask this question. She has said that many times doctors have been incentivized by pharmaceutical companies regarding vaccine intake and then also that doctors may be incentivized by pharmaceuticals for prescribing different pharmaceuticals as well. We’ve got to change all of that for sure. And so Pam has really been shedding a lot of light on that. Another thing I’d like to talk a little bit about is her piece that we published this weekend. And it’s how Colorado conservatives can unite with unaffiliated voters. And certainly I think that this is advice that could be used on the national platform as well. And that is, I really say that we need to move our language and our messaging to be able to engage in conversations, which is what Charlie Kirk did so well. And this is difficult because I was having a conversation with somebody I’m very close to. And as we were going down this conversation, I realized that… First of all, her information was a lot of information that was coming in that I had questions about. But I realized that I did not have enough information to actually challenge that. So I need to go back to understanding the issue in a much broader context. So that was the first thing. The second thing is, is this belief by people that if 51% of people vote for it, that that is democracy. Well, that is democracy, but democracy actually moves to mob rule. So we also have to be asking the questions of what is the proper role of government. So if 51% of the people vote to steal theft via taxes or fees from their neighbor, that is democracy. However, the founders realized that that was going to be a major problem because people could vote to take away other people’s property rights. And property rights are inherent in the American idea. So hence, then we move over to the proper role of government. And that’s why coming out of Constitution Week, again, I’ll say congratulations to Grand Lake U.S. Constitution Week for voting. really great events. That is why the Constitution is so important because it was put in place to keep the federal government in its proper role. Now, in the 10th Amendment, everything that’s not in the Constitution is reserved to the states and to the people. And so that doesn’t mean that the states get to walk all over people’s property rights, their individual rights as well, because 51 or 50 percent plus one would vote to do that. But we need and we have gotten so far off the rails in Colorado at the local, the county and the state level, which is taking away people’s everyday people’s individual property rights. And so this discussion that we need to have regarding the proper role of government, that democracy is really mob rule, it’s 50% plus one. So we’re going to have a question on the ballot this November, which is Proposition MM, and it’s healthy school meals for children. First of all, the title. I think we all want children to have healthy meals. But when we talk to Trent Luce, who defines what healthy meals are? What’s that going to look like? That is just a great title to encourage people to to vote for this. But it’s based on a progressive income tax, which would be taxing earners who make more than $300,000 a year. And of course, I think $300,000 a year sounds like a lot of money, but that’s not wealthy. But and the other thing is, is these things are sold to tax somebody else. Ultimately, though, those taxes will come down to you because there will never be enough money for these government programs. And we’ll be delving into this more. So we have to have the character and the virtue to say we want our laws to be impartial. If, in fact, we want to tax people for healthy school meals for children, which I would submit is not the proper role of government, but if we want to do that, then everybody has to be taxed impartially, equally. There needs to be equity in that taxation. And if we do not, as individuals, as Americans, realize that we want to be treated impartially, although it’s human nature to say, hey, tax that guy for something that I might want to take from your neighbor, you might not go over and knock on your neighbor’s door and say, hey, give me more of your money. but people are more than willing many times, human nature, to have government go knock on that door and take a neighbor’s money for a program that interested parties might be interested in. So we’re in the third founding of our country. Are we going to keep these principles of freedom of speech and to not steal? Well, those are the important questions that we certainly are asking. And so a couple of things, as you know, wanted to mention the Center for American Values, which is one of the nonprofits that I dearly love. They are located in Pueblo on the beautiful Riverwalk. And I’d highly recommend to to go down there. And it’s a very reverent place with the portraits of valor of over 160 of our Medal of Honor recipients. Drew Dix, who is one of the co-founders of the center, has also started a podcast series. He has a myriad of experiences, and his perspective is really one of wisdom. And so check that out. As I mentioned, I’m very concerned about freedom of speech and how the, and this is actually was started before the assassination of Charlie Kirk. And so we’re going to connect some dots here, the governor of Utah. which is Spencer Cox, and this is on his official website. He says, disagree better, healthy conflict for better policy. He said, disagreeing better isn’t just about being nicer to one another. It’s about finding a way to disagree that moves us towards solutions rather than deepening divides. Okay, that sounds good. He says, the reality is clear. Most Americans are tired of the gridlock and bickering. He said the exhausted majority craves a new approach, and research shows that there are proven methods to reduce polarization. As doers and builders, governors, and he then is working with the governor’s associations, are in a unique position to model what healthy conflict looks like. The Disagree Better initiative, which I started during my time as chair of the National Governors Association, looks at the problems of polarization, elevates the solutions that groups around the country are already implementing, and features governors showing what disagreeing better looks like. Through public debates, service projects, and public service announcements, Americans are seeing a more positive and optimistic way of working through our problems. He said that we know that conflict resolution takes work and involves difficult conversations. It’s much easier to sow division than to persuade or find solutions. But we also know that no one ever changed someone’s mind by attacking them. Through healthy conflict, we’re confident that we can find common ground and improve our families, our communities, and our nation. Together, we can disagree better. And that’s Utah Governor Spencer Cox. There’s that’s all a lot of very nice words that can be very attractive to people. There is a however, and nowhere in there is he acknowledging foundational truths. Nowhere is he acknowledging the the value of the individual. Nowhere is he acknowledging that there are some ideas that are good ideas and some ideas are bad ideas. Instead, we should be encouraging searching for truth and clarity, searching for foundational truth, foundational principles, going back and understanding the vision of our declaration. and what they meant, that all men are created equal. So if we are not coming at these discussions agreeing that all men are created equal and saying that some are created that were unequal and that therefore we need to take from some and give to others, then that gets to theft. And most people can agree that theft is not a good idea. So these, I think, are flowery words. So then I’m going to back this up and connect a dot for you. And that is to go to the dignity page. project. And this is the Dignity Index. So this goes to, again, flowery words. Our disagreements aren’t causing the divisions in our country. It’s what we do when we disagree. Do we treat the other side with dignity or do we treat them with contempt? I’ll tell you, the founders, as they were really, in many ways, almost duking it out, that on these foundational principles, They disagreed vehemently on many things. But ultimately, if you have this vision that you’re working towards, that all men are created equal and they all have rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, that’s where we need to agree to protect that. So this goes on. It says they created this dignity index to show us the difference on our disagreements and says to learn more about the principles of dignity and how they can be applied in our families, communities, workplaces and country. Check out the dignity index. This is something that probably could get to a social credit score. So this is danger, danger. So the next thing that I wanted to hit, and connecting this particular dot, and that is Turning Point USA. They are at quite a position right now with the assassination of Charlie Kirk. They’re going to have tremendous growing pains and tremendous… um, challenges on how to manage all of this because so many people are stepping forward. I heard that there’s a thousands of people that have reached out to check out starting a chapter at their high school or their college. So this is again from the Hill and it says Turning Point USA will return to campuses with a lineup of conservative stars. And there’s some that you would certainly recognize. Michael Knowles over at the Daily Wire is one of those. But as I went down through the list, it’ll be Knowles and Erica Kirk, obviously, Virginia Governor Glenn Yonkin. A Turning Point USA contributor, Alex Clark. Senator Mike Lee, Republican, Utah. Now, Utah Governor Spencer Cox, Republican. He’s the guy over here regarding this dignity index. And so I think that Turning Point USA is really going to have to watch the principles. Certainly Charlie Kirk wanted to have a conversation, but his principles were so solid. He so understood the principles. And so we need to make sure that we understand these principles. And Turning Point USA is going to need to make sure that their facilitators understand all these principles as well. So, yes, we want to have a conversation, but it’s very difficult to have a conversation with someone that believes in the theft of taking from one person to give to another. And so this is this speech. Freedom of speech is really important. uh i will be out of the studio gonna have some um guest hosts and next monday uh jonathan turley unless he gets pulled away for fox news we’ll be talking with brad beck about speech and he at jonathan truly will address this um and it was a decision that that is used all that or it’s a comment that’s used all the time that you can’t yell fire in a theater. And actually, Jonathan Turley said that that statement, I think, by a Supreme Court justice was, I don’t know, struck down, but that it didn’t hold the muster for speech. And so that’s going to be a really interesting conversation. So we need to continue to have conversations, but encourage people towards these principles. So Thomas Jefferson said this, he said, if we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, It is the responsibility of every American to be informed. So my friends today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you, and God bless America.

Our word of the day is Nexus. And it is spelled N-E-X-U-S. And it could be a means of connection, a link or a tie. Number two, a connected series or group. And number three, the core or center. And Gammy had texted me. A couple of things. She said the global one world order is the nexus of evil and control over all of us. And then she also sent because I was talking about Trump and RFK Jr. regarding these vaccines for our children. And she sent this says this from a book, What the Pharmaceutical Companies Don’t Want You to Know About Vaccines by Dr. Todd M. Eisner. And it goes through a number of things that you would not really probably want to put into your children if you knew that. And then at the bottom, it’s got two little mice. And one mouse says, are you getting the COVID-19 vaccine? And the other mouse says, no, I’ll wait for the human trials to finish first. And so this whole discussion, because of RFK Jr. as president, the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This is really, really important stuff. And I saw a headline, though. I think that Colorado was going to double down on the current CD schedule for children, the vaccine schedule. And so in the Dignity Index report, how do you have a conversation with a PBI that believes that they have the, uh, that they can force you to put something into your body that you don’t want to. And it really comes down to the freedom versus force force versus freedom. And then Mark and black forest, uh, texted something over as I was talking about speech and theft and force and this whole dignity index on having conversations with dignity. But what if the other side wants to use the government force to take and do things? And so this is a great message from Mark. He said, the best way to resolve conflict is to identify force versus freedom, then eliminate the force. Theft is force. Well done, Mark in Black Forest. And I think that’s I’m pretty sure that’s his. I try to reckon if you don’t put your name on this on the text line when you text in. I don’t know for sure who sent that text, but I think that was Mark in Black Forest. Our quote of the day is. comes from Thomas Jefferson. And Thomas Jefferson was our third president. He was an American founding father born in 1743, died on July 4, 1826, 50 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed, and John Adams died on the same day. And Jefferson said this, he said, when the people are afraid of the government, that’s tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that’s liberty. And so the Constitution was put in place to keep the federal government within its proper role. But that does not mean that local and county and state governments can get out of control and walk all over people’s rights. Now, there’s so many things that are given to the states and to the people. The Tenth Amendment says whatever is not addressed in the Constitution is reserved for the states and for the people. But we have to remember the people, we the people, we have a responsibility to on how we govern ourselves. We have abdicated that. We’ve been, I think, very fat and happy on these fumes of freedom. And there’s been those that have been more than happy to step up and get involved in local government, county and state government. And they’ve been more than happy to take other people’s rights via really theft, using government to take other people’s rights and their property. And we are in the third founding of our country, and we must engage in this battle of ideas. But in these conversations, we must have our foundational principles. We must understand those. And once we do, then we can engage in conversations that are respectful because we understand them. And somebody that engages in conversations on a regular basis in his business is John Bozen with Bozen Law. He engages with clients and also will take a case to trial if need be, which is a conversation as well. John Bozen, welcome to the show.

Good morning, Kim. I like that. We’re fat and happy on the fumes of freedom and couldn’t be more true. Too many folks just don’t engage, don’t participate. Right.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, and with the tragedy of Charlie Kirk, that someone who was not a politician, someone that was just having a conversation, going into the bastion of indoctrination, which is many of our colleges and universities, sitting down, having conversations, say, prove me wrong. But he, John, he understood the principles. And those that think that just because I have an idea that that deserves the same respect as a foundational principle, that’s where I think that we’ve gotten off track a bit is because not all ideas are equal. Some ideas are better than others.
SPEAKER 04 :
Now, learned a lot about Charlie in the last week or so. And what I learned and what I didn’t understand, but I guess what I knew inherently was he educated himself. He didn’t go to college, but he educated himself. He studied. He read. He knew his stuff, which is why he was so able to engage so effectively with folks that had bad ideas. And 31 courses, I think, that president of Hillsdale College said that he took, you know, online. That’s amazing. But then his friends and others talking about how he read incessantly and just was always questioning those that he met, those that he admired, and he’d interview them. He’d follow up with dialogue and questions. He was always learning, always exploring, always looking for the truth, finding the truth, and then willing to debate and engage and pass that truth on, do as best as he could to pass that truth on to others.
SPEAKER 10 :
So John Bozen, my dad, and this had been a big aha for me, is my dad said, we each have 24 hours in a day, and we choose what to do with that. And when we’ve had all these discussions about equity and equality, I realize that the equality or the equity is that we each have 24 hours in a day and that we decide what we’re going to do with that. And dusting off books, reading books, is something that people really need to do. Now, I certainly read a lot of news articles, and I’ve not read… a book really in a while because of all the work that we’re doing. But I did get Jonathan Turley’s book when I was up in Grand Lake, a U.S. Constitution week. He signed it. And his book is The Indispensable Right, Free Speech in an Age of Rage. And I’m going to dust off books. And so I’m reading that. So basics. But I wanted to get over here, though. We’re talking about basics in conversations, basics in life. What are the basics that people need to know if they’ve been injured?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, my area of expertise and practice. So important when someone gets involved in any kind of an accident where there’s been an injury to themselves, to a loved one, to a friend, if they’re present when this stuff happens, is to kind of just gather as much information. It can be with pictures. It can be talking with people. I tell folks, look, if you’re in a motor vehicle collision and you’re able, take pictures of the scene. Talk to people that come up to check on you to see if you’re okay. Get names. Get phone numbers. It’s so important to lock down what happened and why it happened, if possible. And sometimes it’s not possible. Sometimes not. If someone’s involved in an accident, their head is not there or they’re not even conscious necessarily. But if possible, to lock down as much as you can about the accident scene and others that witnessed and saw it getting their information, preferably a name, a phone number, so they can be contacted by me or one of the other lawyers after the fact, get statements. Because the first… Well, health is the first and most important thing. So after an accident, I encourage people, look, if you have anything, any little sensation or feeling that wasn’t there before the accident, go to the ER, go to urgent care, get checked out. Make sure you’re going to be, you know, you’re okay. Second thing, though, is, again, if you’re able or others with you are able to Get information at the scene. Take pictures, talk with people, get names and phone numbers. Because liability is often where claims fail because people don’t get the necessary information on the front end. Don’t take pictures. Don’t talk to people. And then those stories of others that may have been the ones responsible for the accident or at fault for the accident, they change. Sometimes they change because insurance companies get involved. And I’ll kind of leave that at there. You can take that where you think it’s going to go because it’s true. It happens. So very important just to, you know, whatever information can be obtained or documented at a scene, pictures of the ice on the sidewalk out front of the restaurant. pictures of the automobiles and how they’re aligned after the accident, getting the name of a witness that saw the accident, that can testify, that can document that the other driver came through a red light. These kind of basic things. And we can go into much more depth, but we don’t have another half an hour.

Well, awesome, because you’ve been in talk radio for a long time, so you understand all the moving parts that happens with talk radio, yes?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, exactly, yes. It’s only 37 years, but who’s counting?
SPEAKER 10 :
Dom, I’ve never been to Philadelphia, and I love our history. And that is on my bucket list to do one of these days because it’s where so much of our founding occurred. So I’m going to come to Philadelphia one of these days.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, please do it, and we’ll have you in studio, and we’ll give you some insider tips. I have been to Denver a couple of times. And I love Denver. I mean, one was an extended period of time. My brother was there. So you feel like you’re healthier when you’re in Denver. I don’t know if that’s day to day or not. The time I was there, I did.
SPEAKER 10 :
It used to be. Right now, because of public policy, which is something that you talk about on a regular basis, this Denver that I dearly love is really, it’s dirty and it’s dangerous and it’s in a downward spiral right now. And so we’re working to reclaim that and reclaim Colorado. And parental rights is so important. So tell us about your podcast, Old School, New School, Next School.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, Kim, first of all, I got into this business by being a former teacher that did unusual things to motivate completely unmotivated students, saying they were sophomores. I have not read a book ever in school, and I’m not going to. So I came up with incentives, rewards, wild stuff, half-price transmission job and all that. And that transitioned me. I got discovered in talk radio. And since I’ve been in talk radio, this issue comes up. You just had a spot about freedoms. Is there any more basic freedom than to give the average parent, and by extension their kids, the right to make a choice about a school that’s going to suit their needs, particularly, I’m sure Denver, I know what you mean, I’ve seen them there, has schools that are non-performing. In Philadelphia, we have schools for the last five, six years at least that we’ve been looking at it, where zero kids are proficient in reading or math by a very low standard that’s tested and statewide. And yet they still roll on. The superintendent is getting a new contract to go to 2030, as I’m speaking. So there’s only one thing to do to have choice, school choice. It could be homeschooling, cyber. It could be charter schools. I don’t know if it’s on your radar, Tim, but the other day in New York, last Wednesday, because of Madami, the socialist, maybe communist, who looks like he’ll be mayor. He’s threatened the charter school system there, which is pretty vast, and they’re trying to curtail it. 15,000 parents and kids walked over the Brooklyn Bridge in protest, and the big speaker was Common, the rapper, who runs some charter schools. Andre Agassi has charter schools. Pitbull in Miami has charter schools. We’re winning on this issue. It’s slow. It would seem to me your governor… in Colorado might be someone persuadable. He has national aspirations, I think. And with the big, beautiful bill, there’s a provision in there where the governor of each state will make a decision to accept free money or not. It doesn’t take away from the public schools. In fact, it would give them some. So I’m not sure if your guy would do that. Josh Shapiro, who’s a national political aspirant, I don’t think is going to do that. There’s going to be a firestorm.
SPEAKER 10 :
So, Dom Giordano, one of the things I’m so uncomfortable with is the federal government and these grants and giving money away. And of course, I love the idea of supporting charter schools and money certainly talks. But I’m uncomfortable with all of these grants. And I know I’ve talked to many of the homeschool advocates out here in Colorado. They’ve been concerned about taking government money because they’re concerned then from a homeschool standpoint that once you take that money, then you start to be beholden to the people that give it to you. So what’s your thoughts about that, Dom?
SPEAKER 05 :
Okay. Well, I think that’s a fair point, and I would answer it this way. In New Jersey, even though the homeschoolers there are not getting money, it’s making a lot of news, they’re coming after them to say, when you homeschool, you have to do certain procedures around climate, DEI, et cetera. And that’s one of the reasons why homeschoolers don’t want to be indoctrinated. So whether you take the money or not, they’re going to come after you if they want to come after you. The other way that I look at it is this. The money should not follow the teachers’ unions and the schools. We’re going to allocate money for education. it ought to follow the child vis-a-vis the parent making that decision. So that’s why I believe that the voucher system is just one modality that will work and level the playing field and hopefully make the public schools better, or if they’re not better, then they’re going to be curtailed greatly. But I do like what you said. The charter school is something that brings more people to the party as a choice since it is a public school.
SPEAKER 10 :
So one thing, and I had been very involved in a school board election in Douglas County back, I think it was in 2017. And Douglas County is considered a more conservative county here in the metro area. And lots of things, you know, politics is a crazy thing, Dom, but a lot of things happened. And the I would say the more conservative candidates lost and the radical activists were like they then got a majority on the Douglas County School Board. And one of the things that was so important about that race is there was a Supreme Court case regarding school choice, regarding vouchers. And what I realized is the word vouchers had been somewhat demonized. And also one of the arguments towards charter schools was that there was not that it wasn’t fair because there wasn’t public transportation that every child could have access to that charter school. So what would you say to that? Because you probably have heard that argument as well.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, yeah, Kim, I hear it all the time. And this is just the argument of placing one more hurdle there. I would come back to the fact we are in an emergency. We are in a crisis that’s unbelievable. With the failure of the public schools, particularly post-COVID, we spent, as you know and your listeners, billions and billions of dollars, hundreds of billions potentially, and they did not take that money and do what they should have done, which is intense one-on-one or small group tutoring. They blew the money as you knew they would. And they kept kids out of school. So as a result of that kids that were not doing well before in these non-performing schools, we have even a more massive problem that continues until today. So what I would say is, again, we can negotiate some of the finer points of this, but the basic on this is there’s gotta be a path for parents to get out of these schools. And the number, it’s starting to close in. It’s not just academics anymore. It’s safety, bullying, violence in schools. I’ve taught in some schools like that in Philadelphia. Parents want a choice that neighborhood school, that there are some public schools in Philadelphia, I’m sure in Denver, that are high performing or great. And they’re politically connected. People get in there by that means. The average neighborhood school is both non-performing and also violent. usually not a safe space. That’s just not me. It’s people that look at the metrics of this. So I realize these things seem difficult, vouchers, et cetera, for people. But that’s the only way that we’re going to break out of this cycle. And if these parents don’t have that resource, and again, we can negotiate the finer points on this, then they are going to be stuck and their kid is not going to make it. without extraordinary help later on. They will not make it.
SPEAKER 10 :
Dom, I want to continue the conversation. We’re talking with Philadelphia radio show host Dom Giordano regarding his podcast, Old School, New School, Next School. We have a responsibility to our children to fix this problem. The idea that children can be graduating and they can’t read and write and do arithmetic and is, first of all, unconscionable. But then all the money that is being spent on, I have this in air quotes, education and is such an important discussion. And in the previous segment, Dom, you said that the mayoral candidate in New York, Mom Domi, is indicating that he might try to shut down some charter schools. So actually what I’m saying, he wants to shut down the opportunity for children to be able to learn to read. And if kids do not know how to read, that is a precursor for success in life. And you said that there’s some rappers that have actually started some charter schools. I find that fascinating. So tell us about that.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, and Kim, use your influence along with mine. I’m on the trail to get some of them on. Common is the one that was very contemporary, too, that related to the 15,000 people. Pitbull is in Miami. And he apparently is involved with several charter schools. That’s a big name. Andre Agassiz is in Vegas, the tennis player. And Jalen Rose, who was part of the Fab Five of Michigan, then a sports media personality, pretty provocative, he’s on the side of the charter schools. And what this is telling us is, and these guys have said it in various interviews, they’re in black and brown neighborhoods, minority neighborhoods, And they’re seeing that the public schools, by and large, are never, we could throw a trillion dollars at it, going to succeed because of the model. And they see in the charter, you know, each charter school usually has a particular theme of interest. My son went to one in Philadelphia for a while. He’s in communications. What else? You know, like me, he follows. And that intrigued him. And what it does is close to the rest of the studies. We all know if you have a grabber there, and it can’t just be sports for every kid, something to have a stake in with the school, then you’re going to see movement towards something good. And a lot of these charter schools are tapping into that. Plus, there’s much more parental involvement with this. So people will come up with a hurdle then, Tom, and say – well, you mean all the parents who are not as involved don’t care as much are going to be in the public school? And my response is I feel for that kid. But should we hold millions of kids hostage because some parents don’t want to do what other parents with some help, like charter schools, are willing to do? We have some in Philadelphia, mass charter schools or mass STEM. They have a lottery every year because they have 8,000 or 9,000 kids one way or the other on the waiting list. They have a thousand in the school. Doesn’t that tell us something that people want these choices? And if they’re not good, parents will vote with their feet. They’ll go out of business. It’s a perfect model. So the charter school might be the best model versus the vouchers. But both of these are heavily, it’s telling us something when these entrepreneurial entertainers and others, these people are entrepreneurs too, like Pitbull, They’re recognizing the value of this, and they see one of the best things they can do for their community. You just mentioned it. In New York with Mondami, maybe another 100,000 kids won’t be able to read by the time they get through the system. Why in the world would he attack charter schools? It’s one thing, too, we can duke it out over the voucher thing. That’s a tell, though. If you’re against the charter school, you’re really against it. parental rights. That’s what this comes down to.
SPEAKER 10 :
Okay, so Dom Giordano, I’m going to ask you this question, very subjective. Why would we have teachers unions and other organizations that basically connect the dots, do not want young children to be able to read and write and do arithmetic?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, when you take a look at my experience, first of all, as a long-term teacher, I saw up close and personal that teachers were not activists in the way we see some of these union leaders. They were more moderate, apolitical, maybe slightly left or right of center. But I saw the people that were frustrated union leaders that were teachers and got in charge of these things and came to tactics that I had to have a conference with the principal about something. The union leader, who was my representative, said, watch this. I’m going to take candy out of his candy jar, open it up and take it out without being asked. It’s called posturance. And I’m sitting there like, that’s it? I don’t need this type of stuff. So the teachers unions are about power. The former head of the NEA executive director did a very famous speech when he was retiring. saying it’s not about that we produce this, that, or the other. We’re recognized for one reason. We have power. We can go on strike. And during COVID, they went on strike for such a period of time, it was unconscionable. So, Kim, what are the big unions doing now, AFT and the NEA? Both of them this year said the topic is fascism, not improving reading, math scores. Randy Weingarten has a book out, book tour now. Becky Pringle, secret meetings, and it came out that they were making fascism, organizing kids. It’s about Trump, and fascism is the goal this year. So how in the world does that message not get to teachers? This is not about moving America’s kids forward. It’s about political agenda. And now it’s about stopping Hitler or Mussolini, whatever they’re saying.
SPEAKER 10 :
goodness so dom giordano this this it breaks my heart because making these children basically minions for their political ideology is not the proper role of education we’ve got to uh so we got to go to the money and and the money has been what’s been giving these teachers unions power and charter schools is one of the great ways to have the money follow the children. That makes a lot of sense. Dom, you’re doing excellent work. I’m so glad that we got connected. What’s the final thought that you’d like to leave with our listeners and how can people find you?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, they can find me at Talk Radio 1210 in Philadelphia. And I’m on noon to three Eastern time. And Kim, they can find me now. The podcast here, we’re really getting a lot of traction in Pennsylvania on this. old school, new school, next school. And I’d encourage them, my emails there, et cetera, to hit me with questions, people they would like to hear. But I am getting close to getting some of the people on that I’ve mentioned. And I would say we’re winning on this. The guesstimate is about a million kids now are involved in school choice across the country, outside the public school charter and the like. And again, the thought I would leave them with Everything is negotiable here. You raised some good points about the voucher system. I get that. What’s not negotiable are parental rights. And there’s one quick way to get to parental rights. And that means to choose what your kid is going to be learning, the appropriate environment for them. Why would we have people with means and school teachers, but 80% send their kids outside public schools, make those decisions, Kim, and the most desperate caring parents, How in the world do they not have a choice?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, and you’re truly on to something. And there’s a lot coming in on the text line. I don’t think we’re going to be able to get to all of that right now, Dom. But let’s stay in touch. I am well, and I wanted to get your perspective on what is going on in our world today. Unbelievable that Charlie Kirk was killed because he was exercising his freedom of speech and engaging in the battle of ideas. and I was traveling back down from Grand Lake U.S. Constitution Week on Sunday, so I didn’t see the service. It was long, but you watched it all. So what’s your perspective? What do you think about what’s going on?
SPEAKER 08 :
I did. It was so interesting, Kim. You know, I’m not really the kind of person that’s going to sit down and watch a memorial service of someone I didn’t know, even if they were very inspiring and influential in the culture for six hours. So, first of all, I’d just like to say I’m just not that person. You know, I have a busy life just like everyone. And even though this was a significant event in our culture and politically and on many levels, I’m just not the kind of person that would spend six hours watching a service like that. But I did. And I didn’t sit down and do it, but I had it on and I was listening and watching it. I can watch from my kitchen. So I was busy still. But I was just amazed at how for six hours… Speaker after speaker, video of Charlie after video of Charlie, and live musical performances, that program was inspiring from start to finish. And not only did we learn a lot about Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, but we learned a lot about just the entire conservative movement and the things that we know are true but have difficulty putting into words sometimes. And it was just such an amazing experience. And one of the big things that came out of it for me was near the end, you know, Erica, quote, unquote, forgave the assassin. And I think, you know, it was obviously very difficult for her to even say those words. And I’ve really thought about that. And I think what she meant was she forgives the person, but not the action. And Trump came on after her and spoke and, you know, he just admitted that he’s not that good of a person. You know, he can’t let bygones be bygones, so to speak. and admitted that, you know, he still hates people. And, you know, it was such a human moment because, of course, it’s difficult to imagine that you could forgive that person. And, you know, I just, this whole event highlights that, We must love everyone and that what we have to hate is actual evil and actual behaviors and actual ideas that lead to evil. And we still love, though, the actual people. because they are God’s children. No matter who they are, they’re still a child of God. And it just really, I think, the whole event made that clear, that we must continue to fight evil and hate the actual evil and recognize it, but that the individual people are not the ones to hate. And, you know, the left has decided to hate the people. that they feel are evil and they feel that that justifies evil behavior. And I think that’s what we are witnessing, the difference between those two philosophies of life. And I think we must come down on the side of love. We always love everyone. We want the best for everyone, but we refuse love. to love behaviors that are evil, and we will continue to hate those behaviors and ideas.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, Susan, I think that one of the things that we’re seeing is many of our young people, and even I’ve had conversations regarding relativism, postmodernism, basically does not acknowledge good and evil, And I think that there are many young people that have been taught this yours, your truth, your truth, my truth, my truth. And I and that is that’s there’s no foundation to that, because not every idea is. is equally valid. But I think kids have been taught that each idea, if they feel like it, that that’s valid. And what Charlie, from my understanding, what was amazing about him is that he had these conversations, but he had done so much study and so much reading that he understood the foundational principles. and was able to engage in these conversations. And I am seeing a number of young people that have been taught relativism that with all this said, there is evil in this world. And that is an important realization. And for someone that doesn’t believe there’s evil in the world, it’s going to be difficult to come together. But that’s why, because he understood things so well that he was able to engage in this conversation with people. So what would you say in all that? I know it’s probably difficult. Was there one particular speaker at the service that really stood out to you?
SPEAKER 08 :
Oh, my gosh. You know, I guess it’s so interesting. Every speaker, and I don’t know if this was planned, and, you know, they threw this service together in a week, but I didn’t know if someone sent out an agenda or what happened because every speaker spoke from a different point of view, not only about Charlie, but about in the times that we’re in about faith about just the world in general. And so I found that fascinating. And that was why you were able to pay attention for six hours, because each speaker, they spoke briefly and spoke from a different point of view. But I would say, gosh, I really can’t pick one, to be honest. Every single speech just had its own kind of inspirational point. But you know, every single one also just pointed to the light and the fact that we are fighting the dark and that the light is what we bring. And we’re going to continue to do that no matter what. And there was a sense of, you know, they all, you know, would say this is a turning point And maybe it is a turning point, but I think the turning point has been happening for a decade, to be honest. So that’s inspiring and encouraging that people are actually recognizing and waking up to the idea that the turning point is happening and we have to continue to push so that it continues to happen.
SPEAKER 10 :

Yeah, and I just would like to say, too, Kim, I am a believer. I am a Christian. But I’ll be honest, I hadn’t been to church in decades. And that’s what I did on Sunday. I’m not in Phoenix right now, so there was no way to go to that service. So I went to church. And so, you know, Charlie Kirk really, even though I don’t know him, I don’t know his family, I’m not a person on campus, he has impacted my life. And I think that’s just telling in that, you know, I’m one of millions of And I’m not even his target demographic. Wow.
