Welcome to A Touch From Above from the Prayer Mountain in Ramona, California. Today’s episode is part two of Arise Christian. Today we’ll hear that God is faithful even in the midst of our trials and how Job’s trials shows us that if we hold on, we will have victory in the end and that victory is God’s blessing. Now here’s the conclusion of Arise Christian with our host, Dr. Luana Steins.
SPEAKER 03 :
You know, when I think about the God that we serve today, and I think about, you know, there was a big debate, I don’t know if you saw it on my Facebook, a big debate of a church, you know, here in this area, that put up welcoming and accepting gay marriage and sodomy and lesbianism. And I wrote on there because it’s going out to the entire region of this area, the whole town power and everything. So I wrote on them. I said, this is not a true church. I said, they are choosing that what’s an abomination under God, trying to pass it over as a church. But Jesus warned us that You know, God gives us warnings. Somebody say warning, warning, warning. God sent angels to Lot. Why? Because he was going to judge Sodom and Gomorrah. God sent Jeremiah to Israel. Why? Because Jeremiah had backslidden. God sent the prophet Isaiah to give warning to the children of Israel. Guess what happened? They refused to obey. God sent Joshua to to warn Israel, we’re going to go into the promised land, and this is the commandments of what God said for us to do. The same God that told Adam and Eve, in the day that you will eat, thou shalt surely die. Joshua said the same thing. God has given us the divine blessing, a land that is flowing with milk and honey. These are his commands, these are his statutes, and let us follow them. And then Joshua says, you decide today who you will serve. You will either serve the God of your fathers, he’s talking about the children of Israel, that backslid and fell away from God, served idols, sexual immorality, ungodliness, or you will serve the God that’s going to take us into the promised land. Choose you this day whom you shall serve. But as for me and my house, I’m going to serve the Lord. Amen. And he said, and what about you? You see, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Over and over, God sends his warning. God sent Samuel to Saul. Why did he send the prophet Samuel over to Saul? You know, we have to be careful that we don’t obey God according to the way Saul did. Saul, I’m telling you, he had every opportunity to be all that God had called him to be. God called him to be the king over Israel. He could be blessed. He had everything he wanted, riches, blessing, wives. He had everything. He had the favor of God. He was anointed to become king. And guess what happened? God gives him one warning. He tells him. He said, then let me back up a little bit. I’m telling you, it just shakes me up here. I’m going to read. I’m going to read out of 1 Samuel. God tells him to go to battle and destroy the Amicalites. Do you remember? He said, destroy everything. Now, it looked like Saul was going to do what was right. And Saul attacked the Amicalites. I’m reading out of 1 Samuel chapter 15, reading in verse 7. And Saul attacked the Amakalites from Havilah all the way to Sur, which is east of Egypt. He also took Agag the king of the Amakalites alive and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatling, the lambs, and all that was good and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed. Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel saying, I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king. for he has turned back from following me, and he has not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night long. I don’t know about you, but thank God for Samuel, who was a prayer warrior. So when Samuel rose early in the morning, and he told… Oops, let me go back here. I missed something. So when Samuel rose early in the morning to meet Saul, it was told to Samuel, saying, Saul went out to Carmel, and indeed he set up a monument for himself, and he has gone on around, passed by, and gone down to Gigal. Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him, Blessed are you of the Lord, Samuel. Notice Saul’s next words. I have performed the commandments of the Lord. Let me stop there for a moment. Let me stop there for a moment. I have performed the commandments. Did he perform the commandments? Well, he did half of them, doesn’t that count? You see, you and I have to understand, we serve a God whose word stands forever and ever. You see, we can’t obey one part of his word and then not obey the other part of it. And see, we see this here in 1 Samuel and the warning today we had in 1 Peter. We saw that in 2 Peter 1. You know, Peter gives a warning to the church. He writes a letter to the churches. He tells us, you and I, that you know what, when God says it, and this is so amazing to me, I have performed the commandment of the Lord. But Samuel said, then what is this of the sheep in my ears? And I hear the loin of the oxen, which I hear. And Saul said, oh, well, they have brought them back from the Amicalites for the people spared the best of the sheep. You see, he thought, look at me, look at me, look at me. How easy is it to follow instructions? How easy. You see, the problem with Saul, number one, he thought he was too big in his own eyes. His pride was running him. But see, the Bible says pride leads to destruction. See, you can do half right and then get corrected on one thing and then pitch a fit and pout. You see, Saul said, I did. I did everything you said for me to do. What? We brought him back for your God. We’re going to sacrifice for your Lord. What, is he no longer your Lord, Saul? Now he’s just Samuel’s Lord? I did everything you said. Did he? Hmm. And Saul said, they have brought them back from the Amicalites for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen to sacrifice to the Lord your God. And the rest we have utterly destroyed. Somebody say excuses. Somebody say excuses. You know, Daniel said something really powerful. I don’t even know if he remembers. You said this probably about six or seven months ago. I remember I was saying, how’s your job going, Daniel? And he had somebody there working with him. And I said, how’s it going? He said, oh, good. I said, I see you’re training. He said, yes. Now, he works with real intense metal. So he has a, I don’t know what that thing’s called, the machine. It’s a multi-million dollar machine. I don’t know what, what’s that called? The spiral machine. Well, it’s a million dollar machine. And so this company is a big company and they make millions of dollars a year. Now he’s given certain measurements that he has to cut. So now he’s training somebody and he’s saying, okay, now listen, when we get the order and correct me if I’m wrong, When we get the order, this is what the order says. We have to regulate the machine to this here because if we don’t, it won’t come out right. And we will ruin this piece of metal that we have to save. So this is what we’re looking. So here’s how to calibrate the machine. This is the numbers. He said, and the guy would go, yeah, okay, whatever. But he would always do it wrong. So Daniel said… I had to tell him, hey, brother, you gotta pay attention. You got to pay attention. Do you think that anybody told Saul that he better pay attention? You see, God’s word is so clear. You can’t make excuses. The church that is making excuses for same-sex marriage, I don’t care what you feel. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong. If you can’t heed the wrong, God’s word stands. I mean, if it’s wrong, it’s wrong. Then Samuel said to Saul, be quiet, and I will tell you what the Lord said to me last night. And I said to him, Saul said to Samuel, well, speak on. So Samuel said, when you were little in your own eyes, you see, the key was right there. When you were little in your own eyes. You see, we have to be careful that we don’t get on these spiritual britches where we think we’re so high and mighty that we begin to change God’s word or make excuses for it. Somebody say amen. You see, God’s word is very clear. And, you know, God gives warning, warning, and warning. We’re living in a time right now, you know, when I think about what’s happening in America itself… I’m sorry, but I’ve traveled around the world. And I say that humbly. I had to get a visa. I had to get permission. I had to get permission to go into whatever country I had to go in. And when my passport expired, I had to go get another passport. And then I had to write because I was going to be in Africa for a while. So I had to write and make sure. I told them I’m going in there. I’m going to preach. I had to get permission in order for me to go in there. So here we live in a land today where everybody thinks it’s okay to disobey. It’s the spirit of the age that we’re in right now. We have to be careful that we don’t walk in this demonic, demon spirit of entitlement. We’re entitled. They owe us this. This is what. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. We have to obey what God says. No matter what it is, we have to walk in the obedience of God. He gives warning, warning, warning. Somebody say warning.
SPEAKER 1 :
Thank you.
SPEAKER 03 :
Throughout church history, God has given warning. He gave warning to the church in the book of Revelation. In the book of Revelation, chapter 2, he warns the church of Ephesus. Why did he warn the church of Ephesus? Well, when you go back and you read about the church in Ephesus, it was the early church the apostle Paul established in the book of Acts, where there was a great revival. So now, years pass. Why in the world is John the Revelator getting a message from God to warn the church in Ephesus in the book of Revelation? Because they got too big in their own eyes. They lifted themselves up. And you know what Jesus said to them? He said, you know what? You left your first love. In other words, you fell from the truth. You’re not walking in righteousness. He said, repent. You know what he said? Let’s go there real quick. You see, we live in a time today where it’s like every form of religion is okay. Well, whatever. No, it’s not. And to the angel of the church of Ephesus write these things, says he who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands. I know your works. I know your labor. You see, they were very good at religion. Look at me. You can be very good at religion. You can have religion. You can sing. I trust in God, my Savior. Why are you living with your boyfriend? Why are you living with your girlfriend? Why are you dabbling in pornography? Why are you lying? Why are you cheating? Why are you rebellious? Why are you stubborn? Why? Why are you stealing the tithe? Why? Let me go back. I know your works, your labor, your patience, that you cannot bear those who are evil. Isn’t that funny? They could not bear others that were evil, but they couldn’t take a look at their own life. And you have tested those who say they’re apostles and you’re not, and you found them to be liars, and you have preserved and have patience and have labored for my namesake and have not become weary. Nevertheless… Now, we’ve got to remember, this is red letters. This is Jesus speaking. This is not John. This is Jesus speaking to the church of Ephesus. Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you left your first love. Well, hold on one minute. I just realized something. In Mark, Matthew, chapter 24… Let me go here. Let me not get out of the mic. Matthew chapter 24. What did Jesus say? Hmm. Matthew 24. He said something powerful. Verse 12. And because lawlessness, do you know what lawlessness means? You don’t have no boundaries. Don’t tell me what to do. Will abound. No word. You know what will happen? The love of many, what does it say? The love of many will grow cold, but he who endures to the end shall be saved. So back in Revelation, what is Jesus saying? He’s telling, nevertheless, I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember, therefore, from where you have fallen, repent and do the first works, or I will come to you quickly and I will remove you. What do you mean you were not once saved, always saved? I will remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent. You understand what Jesus is saying to the church, and this is church history. Now you can imagine, okay, now let’s go back in history. This is written way back from John the Revelator. When did John write this? Back in 95 AD, I think it was. Now you have to remember, John the Revelator is 90, about 90 years old, writing this, a word from God. This was way back then. What do you think would be the letter that he would write today? What letter would John write today? What letter would he write? The next church, you have to understand, this is church history as well. The next church that he talks about, Smyrna, he doesn’t rebuke them. You know why? Because in church history, they were being greatly persecuted. They were dying for their faith. They were being crushed. They were being persecuted. They were being greatly, they were dying by the thousands. And then he goes on, and he goes on to warn, verse 12, and to the angel of the church of Pergamos write, These things says he who has a sharp edge, two-edged sword. I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to my name and did not deny my faith, even in the days of which Antipas, who was Antipas? He was martyred. He was a great man of God that wouldn’t bow down to Zeus. He wouldn’t bow down to their idols. And what did they do to Antipas? They took Antipas. They put a brazen bull, full brazen, hot fire, they took Antipas, they tied his wrists, tied his hands, and they laid him over that brazen bull, and his whole body melted to death because he would not renounce his God because he stood strong for God. Well, what happened with Pergamos? They were bound up in idolatry. They ended up in all kinds of garbage. What would John write to the church today? When half the church goes to see the vile, corrupt movie of Wicked, the witchcraft, Harry Potter, fortune tellers. Come on, help me. I can’t even think of all the garbage that’s out there today. And half the churches think and justify it’s okay to do that. Why? God’s word is clear. Why? False doctrine in the church. He said there was false doctrine. There is so much false doctrine out there. He said you had Balaam that seduced by sexual immorality. What did he do? He said, let’s bring some strange women into the children of Israel and let them have sex with them. And they lured them away from God. You see, you can’t dabble in the world, and if you don’t believe me, read Numbers chapter 31 and Numbers chapter 25. You see, the devil is a strategist, and if you don’t understand his little strategies, you know what, you’ll give in to them. Throughout America, you have so-called Christian churches who believe in same-sex marriage. They believe in sporting the LGBT flag. I thank God for a president that says, we’re taking every one of those flags off of every single government building. Thank God. You know, whether you like him or not, thank God he made a stand. Amen? You see, Jesus gives warning over and over and over again. The latest news, the latest pastor, number one top author, multi-million dollar book about grace. No wonder he wrote about grace. when he confesses that he’s having an eight-year affair with a married woman when his wife and him have been married almost 50 years. What are you doing eight years in an affair with a married woman? You don’t think that man will be judged? I’m sorry, everybody’s going, thank God he found grace. Excuse me? Let me tell you what the prophet Samuel told to David when David blew it with Bathsheba. Do you know the words he said? He said, David… Thou hast caused the enemies of the Lord thy God to mock the living God. Do you understand the world watches Christianity? No wonder there’s so many wacko Christianities out there. The world watches us. And the world says, I don’t want to be a Christian. Hey, I’m a better Christian than they are. They’re living like the devil’s hell and they’re going to go to heaven. At least I don’t do what they do. You don’t think millions and millions and millions and millions of people mocked Ungodly people mock this man. I mean, I know people have made a mistake. But when you enter into a married woman’s bed for eight years and excuse it in your head. you have lost the fear of God. And when people say, well, that’s just, you know, the human flesh, they have lost the fear of God. They don’t know who our God is. They have no idea the great judgment of the Lord that’s going to come down. You see, God’s word is so clear. He who sins is of the devil. And I know that’s not popular preaching today. Somebody shout, this is going to go out across radio, across all the way up to LA and Hollywood and all those that say they’re Christians. But I’m telling you what, my Bible was very clear, and I try to read it every day. 1 John 3, verse 5, it says, And you know that Jesus was manifested to take away our sins, and in him, Jesus, there is no sin. Whoever abides in Jesus does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen him, nor do they know him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Jesus is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, Jesus, the Son of God, was manifest that he might destroy the works of the devil. Have you ever wondered why the word might is in there? Have you ever wondered why the word might destroy? Because a lot of times people don’t like to let go of their sin. They like to hold on to it. So Jesus came to set the captives free, but you have to let go. to say you know what i am a rotten filthy no good rotten sinner and i deserve death i deserve hell but because jesus i’m going to come to the cross i’m going to grovel at his feet i’m going to repent of my sins i’m going to pick up my cross and i’m going to practice righteousness every day i’m going to do good to those who do bad to me i’m going to bless them that curse me i’m going to pray for them to despitefully use me And I’m going to walk uprightly. I’m going to love my brethren. I’m going to do good. And I’m going to do my best to obey God in everything that I do. And when I labor, I’m going to labor with his excellence. Why? Because I carry his name. Oh, how excellent, oh Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth. Psalms. God is a God of excellence. He’s not a God of compromise. You know what? We can live with this down, hidden inside like Saul. I did everything you want me to do. You know, it costs Saul his life. But you know what even sadder than that? It costs Saul his life, his son’s life, the other son’s life, and everyone around him, his whole family. You see, disobedience is terrible. Haman, you know the story of Haman when he tried to blackmail and he hated Mordecai. You know what was sad with that? Same stinking rotten pride and rebellion. He made a gallows 50 feet. Do you know what a gallows is? Where they hang people in the old days. A rope, hang them. You know what happened? The death that came not only to Haman, he built that gallows. You see, whatever we build and whatever excuse we make, we’ll hang on it. Whatever excuses we make, we’re going to hang on it. You remember that. The gallows that you build, you will hang on it. So if you hold on to rebellion, rebellion will hang you. If you hold on to pride, pride will hang you. If you hold on to compromise, it will destroy your life. If you hold on to bitterness, it will destroy you from the inside out. It’s like poison. No matter what, if you hold on to lust, I’m telling you what, what’s done in secret will be shouted from the rooftop. I want you to know there’s not one big preacher that I’ve known that has been caught in the spirit of lust. I’m telling you, I don’t care. You can put glasses on and you can put sunglasses and you can put a hat on and you can go drive down prostitute alley and God will bust you. That’s what happened to Jimmy Swaggart. He not only was warned once, twice, but three times. Ted Haggard, Denver Church, largest church in all of Colorado Springs, having an affair with his masseuse. How long will the church continue to pretend they’re okay? Either we’re saved or we’re not saved. Either we do good or we do bad. One or the other. But don’t pretend you’re a Christian if you’re not going to be a Christian. You know what? Go live like the devil’s hell and do whatever you’re going to do, but don’t pretend that you’re a Christian if you’re not. Amen? Thank you. God’s word is clear. See, we have to understand something. If the eyes of the Lord go to and fro, he looks upon the good and the evil, who sees more than anything? God sees. He sees everything. And this is why he sent Jesus, so that we could be free. Somebody say, I need Jesus. You know what, we have to come to that place of true repentance. Lust destroys. Rebellion is terrible. Pride is what casts Lucifer out of heaven. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be cast out of God’s kingdom. Amen?
