SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I was sharing with you last week that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called How to be Led by the Holy Spirit. And I believe this message is really helping you if you will learn to tune your spirit to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, the leadings of the Spirit, the promptings and the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. then the Holy Spirit can bless you and prosper you and protect you and help you in every area of your life. This is one of the greatest things that you could ever learn in your spiritual growth. So I encourage you to listen closely and take notes. And if you want to listen to this message again in its entirety, you can go to my YouTube channel, which is under my name, Cherri Campbell. C-H-E-R-R-I, Campbell, C-A-M-P-B-E-L-L. And there in the top category called radio broadcasts, you will see this message called how to be led by the Holy Spirit. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, how to be led by the Holy Spirit. In 15 minutes, I found exactly the perfect one. See, I didn’t have to shop around to four or five different stores, go to two different malls, three different malls to go shopping. And we probably all have done that where you look and look and look and look and look. But it’s so much nicer when God just directs you right there. And in 15 minutes, you got it. You’re done. It’s over. Now let’s go do something else. So you see, by asking the Lord on different things, he can guide you in those things. And another important thing is the Holy Spirit can save your life. And there are so many occasions when Christians have died, been killed in accidents or tragedies. And you ask, why God? Why? Why did that happen? Let me say this. God always, 100% of the time, always gives warning and gives direction to his children. Always. So those who got hurt in it did not hear. They didn’t hear. Let’s say, for example, 9-1-1. We know the tragedies that happened on September 11. Yeah, 3,000 people were killed. But I’d heard there were 60,000 people normally in those two buildings. So 3,000 is 5%. That means God saved 95%. And I heard so many testimonies out of those 95. Some people said they literally heard the voice of God and said, get out of there. One person was going up in the elevator and the Lord said, get out of here now and take as many people with you as you can. There’s other testimonies. A man was getting in a car to go driving down the highway with his wife, and the Holy Spirit spoke to him. Wait, don’t go now. Wait 15 minutes. He was in a hurry. He didn’t recognize it was God. He got in the car, went down, was in a serious critical accident. I don’t recall his wife was either killed or critically injured. And he complained for years. Why, God, did you let it happen? Until he heard the teaching about being led by the Spirit. And then he said, oh, the Holy Spirit told me to wait 15 minutes. But I didn’t recognize it. I went. I’ve heard a personal friend of mine. This was in Nairobi, Kenya. And a pastor said he was getting ready to get on. They use vans for buses. And he was ready. It’s like late in the day. This could probably be the last bus of the day. And he needed to go. But he started to get in the bus, the van. And the Holy Spirit just checked him. Don’t get in. Don’t get on. Now, there might not be another one, but he obeyed. He stepped back and he said, no, you go on. There was another one came afterward. He got on it and went down the road a little ways. That one he was on was rolled over in the ditch. God saved his life when he said, don’t get on this one. I remember hearing testimonies again. There was a church in Nairobi that was teaching about listening to the Holy Spirit. And before that embassy was bombed in Nairobi, they were teaching, follow the Holy Spirit. And they said, even if you’re going down the street and you usually always go down this way, you always take this main road. But if God says, turn here and go two blocks up this way and go around. don’t go that normal way, then you better obey. Well, there were testimonies of people who said, I usually go right by the embassy every day. But that day, just the Holy Spirit said, don’t go by the embassy. Go another way and go around today. They went around. They missed it. They would have been right down there when that embassy was bombed. What I’m saying, God can save your life. He always is trying to save your life. He’s trying to save you from financial disaster, making bad choices in how you spend money or what you’re doing financially. He wants to save your health. He tells you to go outside and wear a jacket. And you say, oh, I don’t need one. Put your hat on. I don’t need it. And then you come back with a cold. Or he’s telling you don’t get on that bus. Don’t get on that airplane. Drive a different way to work. Don’t go the normal way. Don’t go down Sheridan. Go down another way. Do another thing. Don’t go down I-25 today. It’s like, but God, it’s going to take a lot longer to go around. Don’t do it. Don’t argue with God. God doesn’t have to tell you all the details. God didn’t tell that man in the car accident there’s going to be a car wreck up there. He didn’t tell him that. He just expects you to obey. So you see, the thing is, God doesn’t tell you why. He doesn’t tell you what’s going to happen that’s bad out there. You just need to obey. And there might be things, well, I went this way and I never saw anything. Nothing ever happened. Good. That’s a good sign. Nothing happened. You don’t know what could have happened if you hadn’t obeyed. So it’s better to obey and be safe. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. So be still and follow the Lord and obey. Then fourth step, recognize his voice when he speaks. And this is the greatest key because most of the time people don’t recognize that it’s him. And one of the ways to start recognizing how much the Holy Spirit is speaking to you is to give him credit for every good idea that Every good thought that comes by. If you are going out the door and you just, oh, I forgot my, I was supposed to bring this today. You go back in, say, thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you for reminding me of that. Don’t just think you had an answer, a solution, an idea. You go tell your boss, Hey, I got an idea about this. Don’t just say it’s your idea. I mean, you might not tell the boss that God gave you the idea, but if God tells you to, you can, but recognize and give God the glory for every good idea. Every time he reminds you of things, every time he prompts you and you, you do something. Thank you, Lord. Oh, thank you for reminding me of that. Thank you for showing me that. Thank you for giving me this idea, this direction. So by practicing thanking the Holy Spirit, you practice becoming conversational. conversational with the Holy Spirit. And so then that way you can become more sensitive to him. And then as I was saying, also be sensitive to the witness, the checks, don’t do it, go. Now, another thing, these ideas, these thoughts, let me mention this. God can also speak a lot to you through your thoughts. and give you these ideas, remember, don’t forget this. This is how you can fix this. I’ve got a little testimony on the radio program. I’m trying to splice in a segment of a message that I preached in Kenya, but I couldn’t get him to splice and join because they said different file formats. And as far as I knew, I had done everything. They all looked perfectly matched. I just couldn’t figure it out. But I got an idea and I said, thank you, Holy Spirit. I tried it and it worked and… I was like, I mean, I’m not an audio technician, and I’m here cutting and splicing my audio recordings and breaking them apart, taking out a track, putting them together. I was like, wow, that’s not me, God. I can’t do that. Nobody ever taught me. Nobody ever taught me one lick about it. But open it up and hit that button and do this and do this and then run this through. And I found that I needed a special cable with an eighth inch on both ends, and I didn’t know if I had one. I went and I found one that had… Well, an eighth inch on one end, but a different kind on the other end. But then the Holy Spirit reminded me he had an adapter. So then I went and got the adapter. And then, hey, it works. And then I plugged it in. I was like, yeah, God. So God can give you these good ideas and teach you what you don’t know. So what I’m getting to is he can speak to you through thoughts and ideas. However, when it comes to things like your life, do you do this? Do you go here? The devil can also give you thoughts and ideas, right? Because he can shoot a thought in your mind. That’s the fiery darts of the evil one coming in. And he can give you wrong thoughts, wrong ideas, wrong leadings. You should get out of here. You should go over there. So what do you do? You’ve got to discern, is this thought from God or not? The Holy Spirit or the devil or just flesh? How do you discern? So when you get these ideas, and it’s a special, like, regarding something you’re supposed to do, go… Then hold the thought up like in your mind to God. Lord, is this thought from you? Is this your thought? Is this your plan? Is this your idea? And then listen to your spirit. And in your spirit, there will be the witness, the green light, the confirmation, the yes, that thought, that idea is from me. Or if it’s not God’s thought, there will be like a stick going the wrong way inside of you. That’s not right. So every thought and idea you get, hold it up again to the test of the witness in your spirit to see if it’s God. And then number five, be obedient when he gives you something to do. Be obedient. Now, this is another part of what I said to qualify. You had to be willing and open. This is another big one. Obedience is a requirement. God leads us in steps, step by step by step. He does not usually show you the whole picture. He doesn’t necessarily show you all the steps that are going to get you to the destination. He only usually shows you the first step. You’ve got to be obedient to take the first step before you’re going to see anything else. That’s where it takes faith. There’s the third qualification, willingness, obedience, and faith. Everybody say willingness, obedience, and faith. So you’re going to have to be obedient and obedience takes faith. God is not going to usually show you the whole picture. He’s not going to show you the whole map. He’s not going to show you all the sequence of events that you do this, then this is going to happen and then you’ll do this and then this is going to happen. You’re not going to see any of it. You’re only going to see the first step. And that’s one reason why a lot of people miss God because they are actually looking for, I’m looking for that, not this. It goes back to the openness. I’m looking for an answer here, but God is dealing with this. And they don’t realize that this is the step to get you to that. And so sometimes you’re looking for a destination, a final result, and you’re missing the first step. God is saying, just do this. Just say this. Just talk to so-and-so. And you’re missing that first step, trying to look at that last step. So therefore, again, look at the little things, all the little things, the little things are big to God. The little things are big to God. And many times God will not give you any further direction until you’ve obeyed the first step. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called how to be led by the Holy spirit. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. And once again, I would like to highly recommend a very close Christian brother of mine who owns a remodeling business called specialized upgrades.
