What I do know is that decision goes into the hands of a perfectly loving and a perfectly just God. And I believe unless something’s wrong with our thinking, we can trust him for that decision. But it’s not given. So because we’ve got to have all the answers, somebody said, well, let’s baptize them. Let’s sprinkle them. Because we’ll drown them if we dunk them. So let’s sprinkle them. And that’ll assure, that’ll assure of their salvation. No, it doesn’t. No one’s saved by getting baptized. No one’s saved by getting sprinkled. Outside of that, you ought to just bring in a big hose and just douse the whole group in here and say, that’s it. You’re all in. But because they want answers, they come up with beyond what is written. What about today where you see, because you never saw that before, but in these last years, how about slaying people in the spirit? Do you find that in the Bible? Is there anything in the Bible? It’s telling me that the spirit came to give life, not knock the daylights out of you. And isn’t it amazing how those people that get slain in the spirit always get slain and fall into the arms of people with the gift of catching? Do you ever notice that? Even when one lady’s wig was falling off and she was going back, but she caught it before she passed out. Folks, this is nonsense. There is nothing in the scripture about going over and blowing on somebody or hitting them in the head or just you’re so powerful you just slam in the spirit. There ain’t anything about that. What is that? Adding to what’s written. And that’s where your following comes in. I follow Benny because he slays you in the spirit. Well, you’re going to follow him to hell. Because if you believe that does something for you. There must be something wrong with your mind. Because you don’t know the scripture. It’s not there. Not there. That’s why he’s saying don’t add. Don’t go beyond what is written. What else? Well, new prophecy. I’m a prophet. Did you guys know that? I’m a prophet. Now, you see, if you believe that, there should be a mass exodus, in my opinion, out this door. But, you know, you get some people that say, yeah, that’s right, that’s right. No, no, no. No. No is when this canon was closed, when the perfect came, that means nothing else to be added. Remember in the book of Revelation, it says you add to this book, you’re under a curse. When this book was finished, God’s prophecy ended. There is nothing more that God wants us to know about himself than is here. There is nothing more that God wants us to know about end times than what is here. There’s no need for someone to come up to me and say, God told me to tell you. I say, hold on a minute, brother. If God wants to talk to me, he’ll talk to me. He doesn’t need to talk to you to talk to me. But I cannot tell you the number of people who walk around and will come up to you. I’ve had it happen. One guy came up, almost lost his life, put his hand on my head. God told me, I said, get your hands off of my head. He didn’t tell you anything. If God wants to tell me something, he’ll tell me. Any of you people out there have over two kids? How many of you have over two kids? How many of you want one kid to know something, you go to the other kid and tell him to tell him? No, you go to him direct, don’t you? But we have people who think that. What is that? Adding to. That’s putting yourself in a position that I know something that you don’t have. Guys, I don’t know one earthly thing that you don’t know or at least are not capable of getting a hold of. Not a thing. I don’t have a spatial knowledge, and neither does any other pastor or these so-called ministers. And so, what else do we add? What’s another obvious one that we add? Church membership. It seems to me that does not the Bible say that when you come to Christ, you become a part of the body of Christ, right? A member of the body of Christ. Well, if you’re born again and you’re a member of the body of Christ, what do you need to be a member here for? And so what is it? Adding to it. That’s why we don’t have a membership here. But it’s also why some people flake in and out about every six months. Because I could put you on guilt trips. And really lay it on you if you’re not here. It’s good to see you again, brother. You’ve aged. Church membership is not biblical. You’re already a member of the body of Christ. Accountability groups. First, I want to tell you something. If I can’t be accountable to God, why do you think I’m going to be accountable to you? Quiet time. Sounds good. But you know what happens when you preach quiet time? Well, then, did you have yours today? You did. Well, I can’t outdo you on that one. What time did you have it? Six? I had mine at five. Pride. Begin to start comparing yourself that I’m more holy than you are. All of this stuff sounds good. A lot of stuff sounds good. Living by principle sounds good, but it says it doesn’t do one earthly thing to cure sensual indulgence. How about asking God to give you what he’s already given you? Is that adding to what’s written? Yes, it is. You see, my friends, if we’re supposed to walk by faith… And the Bible tells us that without faith, it’s what? Impossible to please God. Now, folks, that doesn’t mean it just kind of doesn’t please Him a little bit. It says it is impossible to please God if you’re not walking by faith in God and what He came to accomplish for you. Impossible. So when I am asking God… To give me what he says I’ve already given you, is that faith? Are you all thinking? Is that faith? No. Are you born again? How do you know you’re born again? Because you’re one of the elect? That’s also adding faith. How do you know you’re born again? Well, because there was a time in history when I became aware of the fact that I was a sinner and I became aware that there’s a consequence to sin called death, spiritual death. And if I’m dead, I need life. And Jesus came along and said, I came that you might have what? Life. And I recognize I’m dead spiritually and I need life. And Jesus said, I am the life. And I accepted him into my heart as my Lord and Savior. I thanked him for his forgiveness. And I asked him to come and give me what I didn’t have. Spiritual life. I had physical life that I got from mom and dad. But I didn’t have spiritual life. That’s why it says you must be born of the water. That’s physical birth. And the spirit. That’s spiritual birth. Two births. Now, if you’re born again… Would it be faith for me to be praying to God, oh Lord, please give me eternal life? I mean, you want eternal life, don’t you? But you got eternal life. He who has a son has what? Life. What kind of life did he give you? Eternal. So would it be faith for me to be saying to God, Lord, please give me eternal life? Would it? No, guys think this through because if you’re confused, something’s wrong. That isn’t confusing. If you’ve got it, you don’t get it. If you don’t get it, it’s because maybe you don’t got it. Would it be faith to say, Lord, please redeem me? No. No. Why? I’m already redeemed. In him I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Is it faith to ask God to forgive you? No, you sin. Well, then what do you do when you sin? Well, it’s not what I do when I sin, it’s what did he do when I sin. And if I know what he did, then I know what I’m supposed to do. But because I don’t know what he did, then I make up my own as to what I do. Some say you go to a priest. Some people know you don’t have to do that. You can go direct. Some people say, like Martin Luther, you climb up and down on your knees, on the concrete, on the stairway. You agonize. Jesus said, you say, thank you. Faith says, thank you. I know what he did with my sin. You were born forgiven. You don’t get forgiven. You were born forgiven. God was in Christ reconciling what? How many people? The whole world unto himself, not counting their sins against him. Is that true or isn’t it? Is it true or isn’t it, guys? It’s true. And if it is true, how do you respond to that? Please do. No. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. And so these are just a few ways that we go beyond what is written. And he says, don’t do that. It says. When you don’t go beyond, then you will not take pride in one man over another. So what causes you to take pride in one man over another? Adding to what is written. Coming up with your own ideas. Don’t do it. For who makes you different than anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you didn’t receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? And if you did receive it, excuse me, why do you boast as though you did not? So he’s saying, what are you bragging about? If you don’t add to what’s written, then what you know is what’s written. And what you know is what’s written. And what you know is what’s written. And what you know is what’s written. That’s why we got unity. We both know what’s written. And we both have the Spirit of God living in us to reveal what it means. That’s why there’s a unity here. Already you have all you want.

SPEAKER 02 :
Already you’ve become rich. Now, folks, he’s dealing here with the Corinth Church. This was probably the most carnal, sinful church that was ever on the face of the earth. Everything under the sun was taking place in Corinth. You can go there today and still see. You had women walking in the street with signs on their ankles saying, follow me. Guess where they were going? You had temple prostitution. You had open baths. You had every kind of sin under the sun. And what did God do? Sent Paul right into the midst of that city and said, go preach the gospel. But he said, you guys have become rich. You know, it probably was a rich city too. You guys have become more knowledgeable than us as apostles. You become kings, and that without us. You didn’t need us. You didn’t think you needed anybody. Self-sufficient sinners. How I wish that you had really become kings so that we might become kings with you. You’ve just become so much better than us. Now, folks, these are the men whom God hand-picked. They weren’t people who went to cemetery. They were people that God hand-picked. They were not the eloquent of the world. They were not the highfalutin of the world. They were common fishermen. They were just normal people. That’s why Paul said, when I came to you, I didn’t come to you with lofty words and brilliant ideas. Because I wanted your faith to stand in Him, not in us. But he said, here, now… The tail seems to be wagging the dog. You seem to have grown smarter and more knowledgeable than those who brought the message to you. You seem to have lost respect, as he said, of regarding the people who brought this message to you as those entrusted with the things of God, God-given people. And look what he says. It seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession. It was kind of like with prisoners where they had put them in these cages and wheeled them in at the back of the procession for everybody to make fun and throw rocks at and to make fun of them. And he says, it seems to me that that’s where you’ve put us. At the back of the procession. Like men condemned to die in the arena. We’ve been made a spectacle to the whole universe. To angels as well as to men. We are fools. For Christ. But you are so wise. In Christ. We are weak. But you’re strong. You are honored. But we’re dishonored. To this very hour, we go hungry and thirsty. We are in rags. We are brutally treated. We are homeless. We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless. When we are persecuted, we endure it. When we are slandered, We answer kindly. And up to this moment, we have become, by then, the scum of the earth, the refuge of the world. The next time one of our staff asks for a raise… This is the passage that I’m going to give to you. Now, guys, I want us to turn over for a moment to the sixth chapter of 1 Timothy because Paul talks about in a moment that I’m going to send you Timothy. I want you to turn over to the sixth chapter, beginning in verse 3. You all got it? You all got it? Okay. Okay. If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited, understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy and strife and malicious talk, evil suspicions. and constant friction between men of a corrupt mind who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. The prosperity gospel, is it biblical? Does this sound like men who are the recipients of the prosperity gospel? Name it and claim it. Blab it and grab it. God wants everybody to be rich. What happened to the apostles? They were made a spectacle. Fools. You’re wise. We’re not. We’re weak. You’re strong. You’re honored. We’re dishonored. To this very day we go hungry. Does that sound like a prosperity gospel to you? We’re in rags. Does that sound like a prosperity gospel to you? Although I am somewhat amazed when you go into the store and you see these blue jeans that have holes in them and they’re supposed to be new. Dumb and dumber. Dumber. We’re brutally treated. Does that sound like prosperity? We’re homeless. How about that? Is that it, a homeless rich person? We’re cursed. We’re persecuted. We’re slandered with the scum of the earth, the refuge of the world. What in the world are people? How can people read that? and teach a prosperity gospel that is prevalent, totally prevalent in certain segments of Christendom today. Is it not? Think and grow rich. That doesn’t sound to me like they must not have been doing much thinking. It says that people who teach that, because this is not realistic, this is not real, are people who have been robbed of the truth. That’s why I don’t listen to them. They have nothing to say to me. I don’t care even if what they’re saying may be true, the little bit that they might teach truth in order to suck you in. I don’t listen to them. I turn them off. Why? Because I know something about them that if you don’t know what the Scripture is, you don’t know about them. Here’s what you know about them from the Scripture. They’ve been robbed of the truth. And they teach that godliness is a means to financial gain. If you’re obedient to God, he’ll bless you financially. Really? Boy, these apostles must have been some rebellious dudes. Wouldn’t they? Must have really been some rebels. Disobedient guys. That’s why God made them apostles. That’s why God handpicked them was because they were so disobedient. Sound like prosperity gospel to you? I don’t think so. I don’t think so. Now, that’s why he says there that I’m not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my dear children. That is just one example, my friends, of what is going on in Christendom today. And with television, every time you turn on television, you got someone teaching blab it and grab it. And people follow them by the thousands and dump millions of dollars into their coffer so that they can teach more error. My friends, don’t let someone add to this book. Prosperity gospel is not here. That’s made up, man-made stuff. And the only ones that are prospering by it are the ones teaching it. Okay. He says, And he will remind you of my way of life in Christ, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church. Some of you have become so arrogant as if I were not coming to you. But I will come to you very soon, he said, if the Lord is willing. Now guys, what is it? that causes man to be so blasé in regard to following the teachings of Christ. I think, quite frankly, it starts with kids not listening to the teaching of their parents. I think that’s where it starts. I think it starts with The natural inclination that young people have, they get to a certain age and all of a sudden they’re the smartest things in the world. You know, you’ve heard that and you’ve all experienced that. We’re all old enough, most of us in this room, to experience that of how when we were teenagers we thought our parents were idiots. And it’s amazing how smart dad became when I got older. He must have studied or something. He got smarter. Do you all relate to that, the truth of that? But we have that tendency, and I ask sometimes, do you ever just listen? Look at the mistakes you make with kids, as kids, by just plain being rebellious. I remember when I was a kid, before I was 16, and… I didn’t know how to drive. My dad was a lawyer. And, brother, he was down to, I mean, it was down to the law. And I’m not even going to teach you how to drive until you’re 16. So there isn’t going to be any of this me in the car with you at 15. I’m going to get in the car with you when you’re 16 because that’s what the law says. And so I had no driving instructions at all. Didn’t know how to drive a car at all. And I remember one night my mom and dad had been picked up with some friends and went over to some other friend’s house, drove over with them to play cards. And a bunch of my buddies, at least three of them, came over and we were playing cards and stuff in the basement of our house. And it just started raining cats and dogs. It was just a big, big storm, just really raining. And it got late, and my buddies had to go home. And so here I was, and I thought, well, I’ll just drive you home. Now, I didn’t know how to drive. Shows you how brilliant we are. I didn’t know how to drive at all. But I got in the car because it was there and mom and dad wasn’t. They had told me, don’t ever try to drive until you’re old enough and I’ll teach you. Did I listen? No, I’m going to take you home. I’m going to be a big dog. I’m going to take you home, take my buddies home.
