SPEAKER 02 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you a message I’ve been sharing with you that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called The Story of the Glory. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, The Story of the Glory. On the inside, we are again made in the image of love, for love. So we’re made by love, for love, to express love. So praise God, love is our highest purpose. fellowship with God and with each other. And now I want to share, there were four primary things that I want to focus on tonight. You could go on and say, well, there was also this and also this and also this, but I’m going to mention four things that God gave to man when God created man that reveal the purpose for man. four things God gave to man when he created man that have to do with his purpose. Because we’re talking also tonight about God’s plan and purpose for man. That’s why I love Genesis one 26. It’s one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible, because in that verse, Genesis one 26, God said, let us make man in our image and in our likeness and let them have dominion and Over all the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, the livestock over all the earth and over all the creeping things on the earth. And right there you get in a nutshell how we were made and why. What is our purpose? It’s all right there to be like God. And then you can go on and we’ll pick that up in a minute. So I love that scripture, but let’s take a closer look then at what God gave to man. Number one, I’m going to, now I’m not saying this in any order, but the first thing I’m going to mention is God gave man a high position or rank. Very high. And I’ll show you how high. Before God made man, there was God, the most high, the mostest of the most, the highest of the high. And under him, there were the angels. And then when some of those angels rebelled against God, they became the fallen angels. And they were way down here. Well, then God started creating all the things on the earth. He made the fish and the birds and the animals and the livestock. They were down here under the fallen angels because obviously Satan inhabited a serpent. So the serpent came under Satan’s authority and a snake was inhabited by Satan himself. So the animals were under the fallen angels and under Satan. Satan could move into the body of a serpent. And so animals were down on the bottom. But then last of all, God made man. Now, where is man going to fit in this hierarchy, in this rank? God makes man just below God. Now, let me show you scripture. I heard somebody say something based on a mistranslation of a scripture. And I need to show you what the Bible says. Let’s go to Psalm chapter 8. Psalm 8. And let’s read. We’re going to read verses 3 through 5. 3 through 5. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers… The moon and the stars which you have set in place. What is man that you are mindful of him? The son of man that you care for him. You made him a little lower than the King James right there will say angels. But that is wrong. You need to, I honestly would say, scratch that out. Honestly, because that’s not what the Hebrew text says. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek. And in the Hebrew, the word is Elohim, E-L-O-H-I-M with a capital E. Elohim is the name of God. It is the original name of God used in Genesis 1.1. It is the name of the creator God. You know, God has different names to reveal his different attributes. For example, Jehovah Rapha, the Lord, our healer, Jehovah Jireh, the Lord, our provider. El Shaddai, the breasty one. And he goes on all the names of God revealing his attributes. Elohim is the name of the creator God. And Elohim is the name used for God in the Hebrew. In Genesis 1, 2, 3, all through those first chapters, I don’t know, 7 or 10 chapters of Genesis. So in Genesis 1, 1, we read it, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. In the Hebrew, it’s in the beginning, Elohim created. created the heavens and the earth. And Elohim said, let there be light and light was, and Elohim said, let there be this. Elohim said, Elohim, everywhere you see the word God in Genesis chapter one, Genesis chapter two, chapter three, every time it says God, the Hebrew word is Elohim. Elohim is the proper name of God, the creator. And so in Psalm eight, Simply, the translators did not have the guts to translate it Elohim. It should have been written Elohim because in the Hebrew, that’s what it says. Elohim, the creator God. And that’s, you have a footnote, a little side note. Uh, this really is Elohim, but we don’t really want to put that up here. A footnote that says Elohim. Well, I’m glad they, it’s too bad they put it down in a footnote. It should have been right in the text. Yeah. And so, yeah, that is so sad. It’s simply the translators did not have the guts or the courage to really say God, because certainly we’re not below God. You know, we’re way below the angels. No, God did not create man below the angels. Angels were made to serve. We were made to be sons. Sons are above servants. Sons are above servants. And so it is a bad translation when it says angels or anything else. My translation says heavenly beings. It’s not correct either. What you need to do is write in the word Elohim, Elohim, because that is the proper name of God. The creator used all the way through the first several chapters of Genesis and In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth. So verse 5, you would read it like this. You made him a little lower than Elohim. You made him a little lower than Elohim and crowned him with glory and honor. Now we’re going to come back to all that again later. But God made man not below the angels. That would have been way down below the servants. He made him a little lower than Elohim. To be sons of God in God’s image. We were made above the angels. So man’s original position in creation was to be a little lower than Elohim, God himself, the sons of God over the servants. Sons are above servants. Amen. And now I want us to. I want to take you to Hebrews starting in chapter one and reading into chapter two, because I want you to see Psalm eight is actually quoted. Psalm eight is quoted in Hebrews chapter two. And I want you to see that it is actually, it is probably here in angel that is talking to, In Psalm eight, an angel is talking in Psalm eight. So in Hebrews chapter one, let me just read it to you. Chapter one, verse 13, to which of the angels did God ever say, sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. Chapter one is about the sun and the angels. And it’s comparing about the sun. He said this about the angels. He said this, he makes his angels winds of fire, but about the sun, he says this. So chapter one of Hebrews, he’s comparing the angels and the sun talking about both the sun and the angels. And then verse 13 of chapter one, To which of the angels did God ever say, sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? Notice this subject is angels. Chapter two, verse one. We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard. So we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by what angels was binding, angels are still the subject. Angels was binding and every violation and disobedience received. It’s just punishment. How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? I believe that great salvation right there is talking also about the ministry of angels, angels, angels, angels. It includes the ministry of angels. This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders, various miracles, gifts of the Holy Spirit. Verse five. It is not to what angels. So there again, angels, angels, angels are always right there in the subject line. It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come. About which we are speaking. Verse 6, but there is a place where one has said. King James says it like that. There is a place where one has said. Well, one what? Angel, because angels have been repeatedly spoken all through from chapter 1 into chapter 2. It was, for example, in verse 2 of chapter 2, the message spoken by angels was binding. And it was not to angels that he did this. And then verse six, but there is a place where one has said in the King James, it says one has said now some translations say someone has said, but it’s actually more accurate to say one has said. And then they quote Psalm eight. What is man that you are mindful of him? The son of man, you care for him. You made him a little lower than the angels. Now that is the Greek and it does say angels. You crowned him with glory and honor. And so actually, we can actually look at this as being said by an angel back in Psalm 8. And I’m going to explain to you why. If you go back to Psalm 8, let’s go back to Psalm 8. And we see that really this is talking about someone who is an eyewitness of creation. Now, did man watch himself get created? No. So who would have been watching? The angels had to be watching. You see, man can’t watch himself get created. And this is actually a testimony of an eyewitness. Eyewitness watching God perform. And man can’t watch himself. And who else was there? The angels were there. So I love to share it, if I will steal from another teacher, the way they said it. But God was out there speaking and creating the heavens and the earth. And he makes the galaxies. And the angels are watching. They’re the only ones around. And they’re oohing and aahing. I mean, can’t you imagine? Wouldn’t it be awesome? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see that? And God creates, and there’s this beautiful nebula, you know, these gas formations with all different kind of rainbow color lights. And the angel, ooh, that’s beautiful, God. And then God makes another one. Oh, that’s even beautifuler. No, more beautiful. I mean, they’re just seeing all these lights and colors light up the universe. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called the story of the glory. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
