SPEAKER 01 :
Greetings, friends and new listeners. Welcome to the program. I’m Sharon Knotts, thanking you for joining us today on The Sound of Faith, because we know faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Today’s message, Healer in the House, is an old-fashioned, faith-boosting, camp-meaning, anointed word of the Lord on the healing power of Jesus. When sickness comes as a satanic attack against our bodies, we must rebuke it and claim our healing because Jesus, the healer, is in the house. Let’s go on and read the next two verses. Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick… Wow. All that had any. Do you pay attention to these little determiners? Because they’re important. All that had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto him and he laid hands on every one of them and healed them. And the devils also came out of many, crying out and saying, Thou art the Christ, thou art the Messiah, the Son of God. And he rebuking them, suffered them not to speak or allowed them not to speak, for they knew that he was Messiah. You know, the devil knows when Jesus is in the house. Amen? And when Peter’s mother-in-law was healed spontaneously and immediately, and apparently there was some kind of Holy Ghost grapevine going on. Because people began to spread the word all over town saying, hey, did you hear? Did you hear that Peter’s mother-in-law, how sick she was? Yeah, I heard about how sick she was. Well, did you hear? Jesus is in the house and he prayed for her and she is now up and she’s in the kitchen cooking. And somebody said, well, if Jesus is in the house, I’m going to Peter’s house. And the Bible said the sun was going down. It was getting dark. They didn’t have streetlights like we have. Amen. They got their little candles out. And they began to pour out of their neighborhoods all over Capernaum. And before you know it, there was a line at Peter’s door. Because they heard that Jesus, the healer, was in the house. And they brought all manner of diseases in. And anybody that had a sickness, it didn’t matter how small it was or how great it was or how chronic it was. All diseases, various kinds of diseases, they all showed up at the door. And Jesus… prayed for every one of them. He’s no respecter of persons. Do you think that maybe he had a little soft place in his heart for Peter’s mother-in-law? Sure he did. Yes, he did. That was Mama. She cooked dinners for him and his disciples. He stayed there. Of course he had a soft, tender spot in his heart for her. but he’s no respecter of persons. Amen. When the sick were lined up at the door, Jesus didn’t turn them away. He wasn’t too busy. He wasn’t too hungry. He wasn’t too tired. He didn’t say, come back tomorrow, it’s getting dark. He didn’t say, you know, I haven’t had a chance to sit down and eat yet. And that was Jesus in his earthly body that got tired, that got weary, that got hungry, that got sleepy. And now do you think that the glorified Jesus Christ, the glorified Lord, amen, you think that he’s going to be too busy, that he’s going to pass you by, he’s going to heal mama, but he’s going to pass you by, he’s going to heal brother so-and-so or sister so-and-so, but he’s going to pass you by? The devil is a liar. If Jesus is in the house, if the healer is in the house, you can be healed tonight. Amen. Jesus came in the house and now he’s got this prayer line going down the block and around the corner. And he’s praying for all these people. Amen. And now the demons are starting to get agitated. Amen. The demons are getting stirred up. Amen? And they begin to cry out. I guess they thought maybe if they cried loud enough, made enough noise, made enough of a commotion, carried on enough, that finally that Jesus would say, all right, it’s time to close this meeting down. But they would have been wrong. Amen? He told them, shut up. Amen. If somebody wanted to be set free and they wanted to be delivered, because you know you’ve got to want to be delivered from demons. If somebody doesn’t want to be delivered, then you just need to leave them alone. Just don’t fool with them. I’m serious. Don’t fool with them if they don’t want to be delivered. Because all that’s going to happen is more demons are going to come in. They’re going to get worse. Amen? But when they want to be delivered, the Lord set them free. And those who were just planted there by the devil to agitate and try to shake people up and get them so that their faith would begin to shake and waver because they were at the point of getting their healing and their miracle, but the devil tries to put some kind of interruption there. And Jesus did not allow them to speak. He bound them and he shut them down. And I know how important that is. I know how important that is. Years ago, this has gone, I don’t know, it’s been a long time. In the early years when I was suffering greatly with my back, Sister Charlotte drove me all the way up to Providence, Rhode Island, and that’s a long ride. And we went up there for a special candlelight Good Friday service that Benny Hinn was having up there. And she wanted to sing in the choir, so we went there. We had a hotel room, and she had to go for choir practice and everything. And so I was there by myself, and we were getting ready to dress to go over, and we got a hotel room that we could look out the window and see the arena. So that was good. We could just walk out the door and walk over. And all of a sudden, out of the blue, all of a sudden, I had this attack. And I couldn’t breathe. Now, I’d never had panic attacks before. I never had anything wrong with my breathing. My back condition did not affect my breathing. But all of a sudden, I couldn’t breathe. So she’s a a nurse, an RN, and the nurse part of her kicked in, and so she’s trying to get me to breathe, right? She goes and gets a bag and puts it over my mouth and tells me to breathe, and she’s telling me to do this, but somewhere along the way, the Holy Ghost in her kicked in. Amen. And it overrode the nurse part of her. And she began to recognize this is not just an ordinary attack. Where is this thing coming from? All of a sudden out of the blue and she’s never had these before. What is this about? And she knew then that it was the enemy trying to attack me that I wouldn’t even make it to that service. And she took authority over it in Jesus’ name and she rebuked that spirit and it stopped. Just like that. Amen? That was an attack of the enemy. We get into, well, we are going into the arena. She gets a green card to go straight in because she’s on the choir. I’m out there all by myself trying to get in and asking, could I please sit on the main level, not wanting to have to climb all those tiers up the side of the arena. And of course, I wasn’t in a wheelchair and I didn’t have a cane or a walker. I look perfectly fine. And I’m trying to explain to them that I can’t do those steps and trying to get in there and Finally, they let me go in. So I got in there, and I sat down, and I sat down next to a beautiful, wonderful woman with a beautiful spirit. I can never forget her name the rest of my life. I mean, not because I’m good at remembering names. Her name was Robin Bird. And that’s how I’ll always remember it. Robin Bird was her name. And she was married. So in other words, her mother didn’t name her Robin with the last name of Bird. She married a bird. And she had very serious conditions in her legs and feet. She was in agonizing pain. And she had suffered for so long. And she was a young woman. She was only probably in maybe late 20s, early 30s. And so my heart went out to her. I was more concerned about her getting healed than myself at that point. So anyway, we’re in the service. And about maybe… Five or six people down from me on the same row was a woman who had come with two or three other women. They said that she had multiple sclerosis and she came for healing. But here’s the thing about it. As the worship service got to going and the Spirit of God was moving, and of course I’m trying to enter into the worship because that’s important. She’s all of a sudden starting to like holler out and yell out and get this. We’re sitting on cement now. We’re sitting on a cement floor. She would rear back until her whole chair would go straight back and she would fall straight back on that cement floor. This is somebody who’s got multiple sclerosis. who’s really, really suffered in pain. And she didn’t do this once. She did it over and over again. And it was so distracting, it got to the point that it was harassing. And it was harassing me and this other woman that was there that really needed God to touch her. It got to, it kept pulling us out. I mean, because of the noise and the women who brought her We’re like, oh, that’s wonderful. That’s God’s spirit. That’s the Holy Ghost. I thought the Holy Ghost don’t make you do that. He don’t heal you by knocking you out over and over again on a cement floor. That’s not how he works. And I thought, this is not the Holy Ghost. And I looked at her a few times, and I saw her countenance. And I knew then it was a demon manifesting. And, you know, something would say to me, you need to go over there and rebuke that demon. But, you see, I was in a very fragile state. Physically, mentally, and everything. And the thought kept coming to me, what if you go over there to rebuke that devil and she rears back and takes you down with her? That’s all I could think of. She’s going to go backwards and take you with her. And I thought, well, I’m not messing with her. I’ll just leave her alone. But it vexed my spirit for the rest of that night. It just vexed me to death. And the woman next to me. And when the service was over, I looked at that robin bird and I saw that her face was so dejected. And I knew that the devil had planted that woman there. He had planted her because if she really had the condition, maybe she did have the condition. I’m not saying she didn’t have it. But I’m saying that that demon that night manifested in her. She threw care to the wind. She was about ready to kill herself. All the time she fell straight back on that cement floor. Amen? I’m telling you that demons do that when somebody is close to a miracle, when somebody is close to a healing, the devil will try to throw in interference. Amen? And I thought, well, if I go over there and people see me saying I rebuke you, they’ll think I’m the person that’s weird because they all thought that was the Holy Ghost. The devil was so sly. And I don’t know the people on the other side of her or behind her or in front of her. Who knows how many people she affected that night? Amen? And that’s what the devil was doing here. All these people had heard Jesus is in the house. And Satan was trying to distract them, put fear on them. Amen? Come against them so that they would not receive their healing. But Jesus wasn’t going to have it, and he shut it down just like that. Amen? And I want you to know that tonight you’re in Jesus’ house. And he’s the master of this house. He’s in the house tonight and the devil is either going to get out or shut up. Amen? Because Jesus is here. And when Jesus is in the midst of us, we’re going to have healing because he’s the healer. All right, I want you to hold your place in Luke because we’ll be right back. But quickly turn to Mark. We’re going to read a couple verses. This is one of those cases where I’m telling you that I really want to read the story in Luke. But I want to give you a couple verses in Mark because I want you to see what Mark says. Mark 2nd chapter. Verse 1, and again he entered into Capernaum after some days. Now whose house is in Capernaum? Peter’s house. And this was his headquarters. And again he entered into Capernaum after some days and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway, or immediately, many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them. No, not so much as about the door, and he preached the word unto them. Now turn to Luke 5. So we see now that Jesus, having been out about, maybe in Jerusalem, I don’t know, maybe in Judea, but other towns and cities, but now he’s come back to Capernaum, to Peter’s house. Now, I don’t know if there were people following him around, checking up on where he went, amen? But when he got to Capernaum and went into Peter’s house, suddenly that grapevine came alive again. And it was noised. Did you read that? It was noised about that he was in the house. Yes. And what happened? As soon as they heard that he was in the house, they began to say, did you hear? Did you hear Jesus is back? Did you hear that Jesus is back at Peter’s house? And people began to get stirred up. Amen? And they began to come from everywhere to Peter’s house until there was not enough room for them to get in the house. It was to the point they were blocking the door that no one else could get in. That’s what we just read in Mark 2, 1 and 2. Now back in Luke, let’s look at Luke 5. Take up the same story, but read what he says in verse 17. And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. This is the same story now, but the reason why I wanted you to go to Mark to see that it was noised about and now crowds and crowds of people had come till you couldn’t even get in the place. And now I want you to come to Luke because I want you to see that in that crowd there were Pharisees and doctors of the law. And if we read on, we find out there were also scribes there. But what I want you to see, don’t just read over it, they came out of every place from Judea and Jerusalem and every town of Galilee. Now what is that telling us? Well, first of all, Jerusalem was 85 miles away. And Judea was almost 50 miles away. And how many towns do you suppose were around Galilee? You know Galilee is this big, big lake. I don’t know exactly how many, but I’ll tell you a few of them. Well, obviously Capernaum was one. That’s Peter’s hometown. Obviously Nazareth. Jesus’ hometown. We’ve got Cana, where Jesus did his first miracle and turned the water into wine. We’ve got Gadara, where he went and set legion free out of the tombstones who was possessed by demons. We’ve got Magdala. Mary Magdalene came from Magdala. We’ve got Bethsaida, Philip’s hometown. We’ve got Tiberius. We’ve got Nain, N-A-I-N. Remember when Jesus saw the widow’s son on the funeral bier? Amen. And he saw that it was her only child and weeping. He walked over and touched it and raised him from the dead. We’ve got Chorazin. Jesus did many mighty works there. We’ve got Damanusa. That’s where the Pharisees came and asked him for a sign. And we’ve got Gennesaret. He held a great healing revival there, and it was so great that people brought the sick on their beds. Now these are just some of the towns. It’s not all of them. But I want you to see that when it was noised about, that Jesus, the healer, was in Peter’s house when that word began to travel. Amen? Because obviously he didn’t just come there for a day. Obviously he would come and stay there for a while. But on this certain day, after it had been noised about, the Pharisees and the doctors of the law and the scribes had come as far away as Jerusalem Peter’s house because they heard the healer. Jesus was in the house. Now I don’t know how they found out because they didn’t have Facebook and they didn’t have an iPhone. I don’t know how they found out that Jesus was in the house. I have to imagine they had some people tailing him and following him all around and finding out where he was going all the time because they were always trying to find something that they could use against him. But you know there was curiosity because this man did great miracles. And remember when the Pharisee Nicodemus came to Jesus, he said, no man. can do these miracles except God be with him. That’s how we know you’re a man sent from God. We know that. Amen? And so somehow they got the message all the way down there in Jerusalem and about that Jesus was in the house. And they got on the next camel on the way to Capernaum. And so the place was packed. You couldn’t get in. You couldn’t get out. The place was packed. Amen? And people such as the Pharisees. You know what the doctors of the law is? PhDs. Doctors of the law. It means that they were lawyers and they had PhDs. And what were they lawyers of? Not Roman law. What were they lawyers of? The scriptures. The scriptures. God’s law. They knew Moses’ law inside and out because they loved to constantly tell Jesus, Moses said, Moses said, amen. They were always saying to Jesus what Moses said. One time they said, this fellow, we don’t know about him. We’re Moses’ disciples. And so we’ve got these Pharisees there and we’ve got these PhDs there. And as I said, we’ll see they’ve got the scribes there. All of these people are here. And then with just, I don’t think it’s an accident that he says, the very next thing he says, and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. I guarantee you that some of those Pharisees needed healing. Amen. I guarantee you that some of those elite PhD guys needed healing. I guarantee you that in that audience there were many of them that needed healing and the power of the Lord to heal was present to heal every one of them. Not one of them should have left out of that place with sickness in their body. Because the healer was in the house. Amen? And every person in that house could have been healed. That was their day to be healed. And the power to heal was present. And that word power in the Greek is the one you all know well, dunamis. Dunamis, that inherent power, that divine power and ability to perform anything. That was the power that was present. It was present. It was there. And we already read in Mark. When we read the two verses in Mark. We read that Jesus preached the word to them. How many remember we read that? Because you see faith comes by hearing. And hearing by the word of God. The divine. The supernatural. That sickness chasing. Demon defeating. Heaven sent. power of god to heal was present to heal them all so that every one of them could have been healed that day amen what a faith inspiring word of the lord healer in the house Whether a sick person has come under a direct demonic attack like Peter’s mother-in-law or has dealt with a long-term chronic sickness like the paralytic, the healing power of Jesus Christ is present to bring deliverance to all. Often when we are on the way to receiving a miracle or healing, Satan will throw in interference to distract and detour us from receiving. This is when we must press our way and keep our focus on Jesus, the healer. Jesus has delegated the authority to use his name to his church, and the Holy Spirit has come to undo us with the power to do the works Jesus did. And he went about healing all that were oppressed of the devil. You can be healed today by the power of God, because wherever Jesus’ name is declared and believed, the healer is present.
