God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. That’s Jesus, and only Jesus. That’s today from the International Gospel Hour. Stay right here.

Thank you for joining us and stay right here where you listen to the International Gospel Hour. How about our lesson text one more time? 1 Timothy 3 verse 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Great is the mystery of godliness. Friends, when we see the word great, that catches attention. God indeed is great, greater above all. It was Moses who said unto Israel, Now the mystery? Well, that which is revealed. And God made that known by divine revelation. And this is affirmed from 1 Corinthians 2, verses 7 through 10. Paul said, But as it is written, I have not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. Now we note the text of John 20, 30, and 31, and know that what we have about the Christ is written, and we have what God wanted us to know and to have. we can make the right choices in life with full assurance God has revealed unto us the mystery and that we should know. And as we look further at 1 Timothy 3.15, we are reminded and assured when it comes down to it, friends, it’s Jesus and only Jesus. And our study continues in a moment.

Friends, God was manifest in the flesh. That’s Jesus and only Jesus. In John chapter 1, verses 1 and 2, and verse 14, we are reminded that the Word was God, He was in the beginning with God, and that Word became flesh. Matthew 1.23 says, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted is God with us. And had God not come in the flesh, Jesus would have simply been just another baby, just another man. But when you think about it, no other birth ever accomplished what this one did. Jesus, and only Jesus, God, brought forth in the flesh. Second, justified in the Spirit. Why, that’s Jesus, and only Jesus, who said to his apostles in John 14, 26, But the Comforter, the Helper, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. The Spirit was sent in the name of Christ. The Holy Spirit would bring forth what Christ, what God would authorize. And it took Jesus, and only Jesus, to send the Holy Spirit upon the apostles to preach and to teach His Word and to affirm those very things. Third, scene of angels, well, that’s Jesus, and only Jesus, where Peter said in 1 Peter 3.22, where Jesus who is gone into heaven and is on the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. The angels are subject unto the Christ. Jesus is the only one who resurrected in heaven and is on the right hand of God to this very day. It’s Jesus and only Jesus that the angels are subject unto him. Here’s a fourth one from 1 Timothy 3 and verse 15. Let’s consider this. Or rather, 1 Timothy 3 and verse 16. I said 15 earlier. My apologies. How about this? Preached unto the Gentiles. You know, when you think about it, there was no message for the Gentiles. According to Romans 1, they would respond to the law in a moral type law. But through Jesus Christ, he was the peace that made both Jew and Gentile one and broke down that middle wall of partition between them. It was through Jesus and only Jesus that the Gentiles would have hope in Christ just as the Jew. The gospel of Jesus Christ, Romans 1.16, the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes to the Jew first and also to the Greek. for any and all, preached unto the Gentiles, Jesus and only Jesus. Today, Jesus should be the one that we preach, that we proclaim. What about believed on in the world? Oh, friends, Jesus and only Jesus. When Peter looked at him in Matthew 16, 16, and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood has not revealed this unto you, but my Father who is in heaven. What about the eunuch in Acts 8 in verse 37 when he said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And that chariot stopped. And Philip took him down into the water and baptized that man who went on his way rejoicing. I go back to the cross of Christ with a centurion, one greatly respected, one who achieved his position because of his ability. In Matthew 27 verse 54 he said, Truly this was the Son of God. There is salvation in none other, friends. Acts 4 and verse 12. Believed on in the world, it’s Jesus and only Jesus that will make that difference. And then finally we see received up into glory. Yes, friends, Jesus and only Jesus. After His resurrection, praise God for His ascension of the Christ. And after the Lord had spoken to his apostles, the Bible says he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God, Mark 16, verse 19. We can go to Acts 1, 9-11 that elaborates even more of how Jesus ascended into heaven and will come the very way that we saw him go. Jesus and only Jesus, friends. What a beautiful thought. And friends, of all of these points discussed from 1 Timothy 3.16, every one of them reflect Jesus, and only Jesus. Friends, we hope that we have prompted you to think on some things, and so very quickly I’m going to defer to our J-Web, who’s going to share with you an online study of the Bible, our free offer through our friends at World Bible School.
