Your faith better quickly be anchored in Jesus and Him alone. This is a warning out of love to all who hear right now. Nobody can tell us what’s going to happen in this world next. But I can tell you this, if you trust Christ tonight, you can be in heaven forever with God no matter what happens in this world.
SPEAKER 02 :
This is Real Life. Welcome to Real Life Radio with Pastor Jack Hibbs. I’m David Jay, thanking you for joining us today as we listen, learn, and are challenged by God’s Word, the Bible. What if the greatest battles in life aren’t fought with swords and armies but with the struggles of the heart? What if the most defining moments of leadership come not from triumph, but from pain, betrayal, and humility? How do we handle being misunderstood or wronged? And how do we navigate the deep waters of authority, submission, and forgiveness? In A Tale of Three Kings, Jean Edwards takes us inside the lives of King Saul, King David, and Absalom, illustrating the powerful lessons learned from their brokenness and their failures. Through these kings, we discover that true leadership often comes through humility, suffering, and trusting God’s sovereignty, even in the most difficult seasons. This book will challenge you to reflect on your own heart, leadership, and your walk with God. A Tale of Three Kings by Gene Edwards. It’s available for a gift of any amount at jackhibbs.com slash realradio. That’s jackhibbs.com slash realradio. on today’s very special Easter Passion Week edition of Real Life Radio. Pastor Jack now with his message called One for All and All for Themselves. We’re glad you’re here today. You know, the ministry and life of Jesus was all about us, you and me. But in our humanity, we’re pretty much all about ourselves even when Jesus is reaching out to us. You see, we’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, and it’s only confessing our sins to God that opens the door to forgiveness and relationship. So today, Pastor Jack teaches that the family of God was born out of the suffering of Jesus. And when he bowed his head and died, he finished paying the price for our sin. It was done. Now, with his Passion Week message called One for All and All for Themselves, here’s pastor and Bible teacher Jack Hibbs.
SPEAKER 03 :
Listen, you might get pulled over by the CHP and you may not like, you might even know the officer that pulled you over and he might be a bozo. You might know him personally. He could be a family member for all I care. But he didn’t pull you over, did he? The authority of the state of California pulled you over. And when he sat on that seat, when Pilate sat there, what he was about to speak was the power of Rome. It was as though Caesar himself was speaking. And Rome said, behold, your king. What a shocking statement. They just told him a moment, could you just see them? They’re like fuma now. Did you hear what he just said? We just told him that if anybody lets him go or any association with Jesus, that he’s not a friend of Caesar’s, he’s putting himself, we have no king but Caesar. They’re gonna make that clear in a moment. Decisions are always made. wherever Jesus Christ’s name is brought up. Always. Somebody could cuss using Jesus’ name and you hear it. And a decision is made in your heart, in your mind. What Lisa and I do, if you ever go to a movie and Lisa and I are in that movie, you’re gonna know, we’re in the theater, if they say the Lord’s name in vain, Lisa and I will say, is Lord! Somebody’s doing something and somebody says, Tom Cruise says Jesus and Jack and Lisa say, His Lord! And it’s kind of, listen, you ought to do it sometime. It’s pretty fun. They can’t see you. You’re in the dark anyway. Who’s going to know? Behold your king. Number five on this day in history, gods were being chosen. Choose your god. Is it this mild-mannered man? bloodied preacher standing before us, robed in mockery, crown of thorns on his head. As though he were defenseless, he said nothing. The Bible tells us in another place that all of these accusations that they brought against him were all conjured up. Isn’t that something? In verse 15 it says, but they cried out, away with him, away with him, crucify him. And Pilate said to them, shall I crucify your king? He’s really rubbing it in, isn’t he? The chief priest answered, we have no king but Caesar. Right then and there. Wouldn’t it have been great if the ground just opened it up and swallowed that guy right then? And you could hear God burp after it was over. That would have been awesome. We have no king but Caesar. Earthquake. That’s what I would have done. Then Pilate delivered him to be crucified. Then they took Jesus and led him away. They had him now. Have you ever seen a mob in the Middle East that’s fired up with passion? According to the book of Isaiah, chapter 53, it’s very, very terrifying. It’s not bedtime reading. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ at this point was marred more than any other human being. The word marred means, in Hebrew, unrecognizable as a human. It means that he only had the form, the shape, the silhouette of a human. You know Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ, did no justice to what happened to Jesus. Imagine putting hamburger into a blender and then taking it out and forming it in the shape of a human. That’s what Jesus looked like, a mangled mass of tissue, blood, wounded. But people were choosing their gods in that moment. Rome, myself, religious power, convenience, and there this one mangled only because he raised the dead, cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind, and brought to us the kingdom of God and showed us that there’s a way to heaven, but religion will kill that real quick. Number six, on this day in history, prophecy was being fulfilled. We could go on all night for this, but I got a minute. John 19, 17 says, and he, bearing his cross, went out to a place called the place of the skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha, where they crucified him, two others with him, one on either side and Jesus in the center. Now, Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross, and the writing was Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. You know, that was written and put over his head back then, and did you know it’s true then and it’s true today? It’s still true. Jesus Christ is King of the Jews. He’s their king. He’s my king. He’s your king. I’m a monarchist. Are you an independent, Republican, or Democrat? I’m a monarchist. I’m waiting for my king to show up. I hope any time now. The king is coming. He came once to die. He’s coming back to judge. I can’t wait for him to come. By the way, Jesus of Nazareth, king of the Jews. Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, just north of the city, technically. And it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. Verse 21, therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, do not write the king of the Jews, but he said, I am the king of the Jews. And finally, Pilate said, His wife must have got a hold of him between all this stuff. Because in verse 22, he says, what I have written, I have written. And it’s like, where was that spunk earlier? But the word Nazareth is an awesome word. The word means, or the original word is Nassar, and it means a shoot or a root or a branch. The word is also translated a watchtower or overlooker. Someone that overlooks. Imagine like a tall tree overlooking everyone. Or when the word says here, Nazareth, Jesus was from Nazareth. Jesus was from the place of the shoot or the branch. When you chop an olive tree off at the base, no matter how big it is, guess what happens after about six months? A little shoot comes up out of that ancient tree. And that’s the exact same word that’s used in the Old Testament regarding the Messiah would be the branch, the shoot that would come from Jesse. Isaiah 11 verse one, you can read that later. Oh, real quick, time’s sake, just for fun, I’m out of time. You guys, map, we have a map. This is very cool, very, very cool. So you can’t see this, the lights are too bright, or this laser’s too weak. See number one, two, and three, it’s obvious. You see this over here, everybody? Okay, this is east, this is west. Can you guys see that? Can you see it over here? Okay, this is east. I’m sorry, this is west, thank you. This is east. This is the Judean wilderness over here. This is the Mount of Olives here. This is the Kidron Valley here. Garden of Gethsemane here. Watch this. This is Mount Olivet. This is Mount Zion. This is Mount Moriah. See where the temple is? They led Jesus out of the city. We know it was through the northern gate. We call it today the Damascus Gate. You see that brown spot right there? That’s what’s called Gordon’s Calvary. It’s the place of the skull. You see this right here? That is known as Gordon’s tomb. Not Gordon’s tomb, but Gordon found the tomb. The empty tomb. Jesus was crucified on that high ground right up there. High ground of Moriah. The exact same spot Isaac was offered up by Abraham, living out prophecy. Prophecy being fulfilled.

SPEAKER 03 :
Number seven, I’m gonna go real quick. I have to go fast here. For this day in history, nothing written of the scriptures failed. Verses 23 to 24, then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts to each soldier apart, and also the tunic. Now, the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. They said, therefore, among themselves, let us not tear it, because it was very unique, But cast lots for it, let’s gamble for it. Who shall it be? That the scriptures might be fulfilled which says, they divided my garments among themselves and for my clothing they did cast lots. Psalm 22, therefore the soldiers did these things. The Bible never failed. Everything about Christ this day in history was spot on to the moment. Verses 25 to 27 we go on. And that is the family. Listen, on this day in history, the family of faith was born. You and I are in this family, I’m about to read. Now there stood by the cross Jesus’ mother and his mother’s sister. Mary, the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved, that’s John standing by. Isn’t that cute? John writes John’s gospel and says that I’m the disciple that Jesus loved. Pretty cool, right? I’m sure when John wrote his gospel, Matthew probably said, I wish I would have put that in there. I should have put Matthew in there. You ought to be able to say that, by the way. You should say that. You are the disciple whom Jesus loves. He said to his mother, Woman, behold your son. Jesus said that to her. And then he said to the disciple, Behold your mother. And from that hour, that disciple took her to his own home, the family of God, The family of God is born out of the suffering of Jesus. Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus, Yeshua, Yahushua, Yeshua, our Messiah. Number nine, there’s only 10. Number nine, on this day in history, the law of God was satisfied. A lot of people think we’re against the law of God. We’re not against the law of God at all. It’s holy and pure and perfect. We’re learning that in the book of Romans. God’s law is awesome. By the way, you know the nation of Israel existed for thousands of years and never had a police department? Did you know that? It’s not been since 1949 or 1950 did Israel have a police department. Did you know that? Think about that. They didn’t have any enforcers. You wanna know why? Because the law in every home was the enforcer of how a home and a husband and a family should conduct itself among one another, the culture, and God. You’ve got that in the heart? And you’ve got a culture that’s under control. John Adams said regarding the United States of America as a prophet, think about what he said. He said this constitution is only fit for a moral and a religious people and it is impossible to govern any other. And you’re watching our nation fall apart because we’ve killed God and we’ve removed him from our nation. And we’re reaping now and we’re gonna reap the judgment of having saying goodbye to God. And what steps into place is more government, more government, more laws. Listen, we have more laws now in our nation than any other time in history. How are we doing? It’s because the heart. No, God’s law is holy and beautiful and awesome, but we can never satisfy it. But Jesus did. After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scriptures might be fulfilled, said, I thirst. Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there and they filled a sponge with sour wine and put on hyssop and put it to his mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, it’s finished. Wow, it’s all done, man, I’m telling you. And bowing his head, he gave up his spirit. Nobody does this but God. Listen, when you and I die, we’re gonna die when our body says, I’m dead. I’m not gonna say, you know what? I’m gonna die now. But you know what Jesus did? Jesus said, it’s finished. You should ask the question, what’s finished? I just finished paying the price of all of mankind’s sins. It’s finished. Yeah, amen. And it being finished, I dismiss my spirit. I’m out of here. I’m not hanging around this place one more second. Jesus gave up his spirit. Number 10 on this day in history, everything changed forever. Therefore, because it was the preparation day that the body should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was a high day, meaning it was a double Sabbath. It was a very unusual day, that Passion Week. It was a double Sabbath, very unique. The Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken. that they might be taken away, because if you break their legs, then they can’t push up on the spike. That’s how you breathe. You pushed up on the spike that was in your feet to catch your breath, then you rested back down on the spike, and then you exhaled, then you pushed up on the spike. Well, if you break their legs, they had a mallet, like a sledgehammer, they would break your legs so you couldn’t push up, and you would suffocate rather abruptly. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him. Verse 33, but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear and immediately blood and water came out. That means Jesus, I’m not joking, I’m not being cute. A cardiologist in here will know this to be true and they would have the medical term for it. When this says blood and water came out of Jesus’ side when they pierced his heart through the rib cage, it means that Jesus actually died of a strangled or broken heart. The fluid filled up around his heart so unusually due to all of the suffering that that medical condition just crushes the heart. It would have killed him But remember what he said earlier? Nobody takes my life from me. I lay it down and I take it up again. Is that amazing? Isn’t that awesome? What a beautiful thing. And immediately blood and water came out and he who was seen has testified and his testimony is true and he knows that he is telling the truth so that you may believe. Friends, you need to believe if you don’t. Your faith better quickly be anchored in Jesus and him alone. This is a warning out of love to all who hear right now. Nobody can tell us what’s gonna happen in this world next. But I can tell you this, if you trust Christ tonight, you can be in heaven forever with God no matter what happens in this world. Trust him tonight. I’m gonna ask Marty to come on out, but you remain right where you’re at. I’m gonna ask you to bow your heads in prayer. As we prepare our hearts for communion tonight, church, I’m gonna ask you that maybe tonight, if you agree with what I’m about to say to you and invite you to participate in. If you agree, then guess what? You partake of communion tonight with us. But I must say, communion is strictly reserved for those who understand that Jesus died for their sins and rose again from the dead. Now to get the rest of the story, you gotta come back on Sunday, so we need to hope and pray that the weather cooperates, because we need a lot of seats. Heavenly Father, we come before you tonight and we ask in the name of Yeshua, we ask you, Lord, that the truth of your word, we saw very quickly tonight, the truth of your word, the power of your word, the fulfillment of prophecy, the fact that Jesus, his very presence, his very name requires a decision, always. That somebody tonight might know and respond and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins personally. That you love them personally, you know them personally, you’ve always known them. And you’ve been waiting for them. And tonight is their night. Whoever you may be, wherever you may be, if you’re watching right now, wherever you’re at, if the Holy Spirit has taken this simple message and has spoken to your heart inside of you, and you can sense the kindling of faith. Pray this prayer wherever you’re at right now, from here and beyond. Dear Lord Jesus, I confess tonight, today, wherever you are, I confess, Lord, today, that you died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. Because I couldn’t be saved, you saved me. Because I was lost, you found me. And because I was condemned, You made me pure by your own blood. And I receive you tonight as my risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my King, my Lord, my Savior. And we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
