SPEAKER 02 :
Welcome to Call to Freedom in the last real full week of August. Oh, my goodness. And then we’re going to get into a period of time where, wow, we have anniversaries all over the place from not only 9-11 and August. It’s the 20th anniversary of Katrina hitting New Orleans and all of that delta near the Mississippi River, but also October 7th. Wow. So much to… dedicate to God and remember. It’s just such a wonderful thing to know that we serve a God and a Savior who is really concerned about us. But oh, Satan is alive and well on planet Earth. Hal Lindsey really dedicated that book well. Because Satan is out. He’s got both guns drawn, and he’s going to try to make it miserable before the last, before the end of this age. But God did not give us a spirit of timidity or a spirit of fear. That’s 2 Timothy 1.7. But a spirit of power and of love. and of self-discipline or a sound mind. I like that, self-discipline, because that’s what we do. When we get into the Word, our mind is being disciplined to God’s way of doing things. You will be blessed when you hope. You will be blessed when you trust. You will be blessed when you cast all your cares on the Lord. I had to do that this weekend. I am so grateful that Darren taught me to memorize, memorize, Barbara, memorize. Oh, and Kimberly is not with me. She’s gone. Well, she isn’t even going to Tulsa right now. She’s in the mountains. She was in Gunnison and now she’s in Crested Butte today. She’s got a lot of friends all over and then she will be going home. And yes, I miss her. I miss her kind of. It’s The absence of someone in the studio here is a little bit jarring. And it reminds me of when Darren left. Wow, it was like the air was sucked out of my lungs. I didn’t even know how to talk. I didn’t know how to breathe. And God, oh, breathe in me, sweet spirit. He did. He brought breath back into my lungs, and oh, I am just overjoyed. I thank God for Rachel, who’s in the production room, because there’s always someone familiar there when I come into KLTT. Thank you, Rachel, for being there. Helpful. Thumbs up, yes, thumbs up. So let’s do our Monday Bible slogan. This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I do what it tells me to do. This is my Bible. It has given me new life. it is the word of god you are blessed to dispense for in him you live and move and have your being and when things happen in our lives i’m going to talk about that today and tomorrow because when things happen in our lives unexpected or when we are expecting something to happen and it doesn’t are you deflated are you down are you discouraged are you depressed well i used to be that way when things didn’t work out I remember going to the first Star Wars movie in Denver. We were living in Greeley, in Denver, and it was on that big, huge screen. It used to be a family thing for Disney on Colorado Boulevard. And we drove all the way down there, long line around the building. When it got to us, they were sold out. How could they? And this was many years ago. And I just bawled. I just stood there and bawled in line. I mean, why did we make the effort? Why did we pay all this? Well, we got our money back and we came back another time. But when you get into unexpected situations, do your emotions show? Well, mine used to. But now I’m leaning on God so much. Oh, it’s a wonderful thing to know. that we have God. Praise the Lord. And you truly are blessed to dispense. You’re blessed to give into the kingdom of God. I hope you aren’t hanging on to every little cent and every little penny, because God wants you to be a generous giver into the kingdom. Not that he needs it. He doesn’t. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. But it’s for your sake, my friend. if that you become a giver, that when people say, do you have a dime that you might give it, or if you see a need out there that you might give to that person or to that situation, well, like we were giving to the Samaritan’s Purse. And thank you so much. We sent $2,000 to Samaritan’s Purse. It’s not a whole lot when you’re talking about the millions and millions of But I thank you. I thank you for opening your purse, opening your pocket, and giving us some money. It’s a wonderful, wonderful action that you do. And you can go to the website if you’d like to look at the Bible guide. That’s ready to be printed out if you go there. Also, the newsletters are being gathered together, and you can go and download the newsletters yourself. You can go to radio shows, that’s under resources. Listen to radio shows and I usually post them right after the live program every day at one o’clock. So there’s a lot of stuff to look at. I talked to a friend in Alabama yesterday and she says, wow, Barbara, I didn’t realize you were changing your website. Said, yeah. And she said, oh, I think it’s great. I think what you’re doing is great. And I also want to introduce, under teaching, Voice of Freedom. Those are blogs that Kimberly writes. And pretty soon, I think I’m going to go into the Darren Carmack file and do some of the… teaching that he had because it’s still so anointed it truly is so i’m working on things and i know chris our webmaster is working on things also so be patient with us it’s coming along and we’re so grateful so grateful you can also donate there if you appreciate call to freedom every day And you can donate on your phone, on your computer. So remember that. Your phone, you can go right to freedomstreet.org on your phone. And I think 99.99% of the people have a phone. So remember that. a breaking victory from jay seculo and the american center for law and justice radical prosecutors just lost a major case in their political war on president trump you don’t hear this often from jay and from jordan but they are in the ditches they’re in the trenches they’re they’re working hard every day and this is one aclj helped deliver the win New York Attorney General Letitia James, boy, you’ve heard that name for the last 10 years, tried to politically prosecute President Trump with a half a billion dollar sham fine. We filed a major amicus brief and the appeals court just threw out the bogus punishment. In fact, Judge Friedman directly quoted our brief on the First Amendment implications of this case. I heard that. They were wonderful. And he’s not even a Republican. Oh, it was great. This win is your win because of your support. The ACLJ just helped deliver a major legal victory for President Trump and the Constitution. This is why we launched our 35 years of victory drive. Every gift doubled to make more victories like this possible. Thanks for your support. We are beating back the tsunami of lawfare against conservatives, President Trump and the Constitution itself. We’re in the final 10 days and frankly, we’re behind. That’s why I’m directly asking you for support today. Empower the American Center for Law and Justice and come and make victories possible. We know the left won’t back down. They will appeal and we will file again. We must meet them dollar for dollar, lawyer for lawyer in courts nationwide, including five vital briefs at the U.S. Supreme Court due in just eight days. And I’ll tell you, if I had to appear before the Supreme Court, my legs would be literally shaking. But we have representatives like Jay Sekulow, who has been appearing before the Supreme Court for 30 years at least. And he is the kind of experienced and knowledgeable man I would like defending me. So thank you so much. You can go to ACLJ.org and click on Donate, and you can double what you’re giving today. So remember that. Go to ACLJ.org and donate. Give a good gift today. I really appreciate that so much. Our memory verse for this week, because I had a more quiet weekend with Kimberly gone. I’m trying to get my thoughts together here. Wow, she is just like a little tornado, but she’s also a butterfly. So I had to just settle myself down and just give myself some rest. I’m a little bit slower as I texted Dana. She texted me a video of what she’s doing out on the lake. And it’s just beautiful. But I said, I’m a little slower this weekend. So our memory verse for this weekend is 3 John 2. This is for you, friend. And from the New American Standard, Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. And from the message, 3 John 2. So good. How truly I love you, he’s saying. He was a lover. We’re the best of friends and I pray for good fortune in everything you do and for your good health, that your everyday affairs prosper as well as your soul. I was most happy when some friends arrived and brought the news that you persist in following the way of truth. Nothing could make me happier than getting reports that my children continue diligently in the way of truth. Oh, I agree with him. I think it’s wonderful when we hear from our power partners or friends or relatives, loved ones who give scripture when you’re talking to them. Oh, it’s a bright light. It really is. I know at our Bible study last Thursday, one of our dear, precious people around the table was saying, Quoting from 2 Peter 1.3, that everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. Wow, that’s beautiful. So I want to talk to you today about not holding on to earthly things because we know, you know, it’s my bank account. It’s my home. It’s my car. And we need to really hang on to those things loosely. We have everything to live for. I realize that. And we work hard for the things that we have. But just don’t hang on to them because it’s really important that you look at things above and not on things on this earth. Last week, Kimberly and I were teaching from 2 Peter 1 about God’s divine power, granting us everything pertaining to life and godliness. And I know that many of you got the rhema. R-H-E-M-A. You got the rhema. That’s vital revelation from that teaching. You know that God’s power is giving everything, giving you everything you need. to life and godliness and everything that you need in your earthly life why because matthew 6 33 says seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and what and all these earthly things that we focus on and we need i need it every day i need to eat every day they’ll be given to us they will And I know that you’re beginning to really trust God. Oh, it’s wonderful to see. Expect good things from the Lord as you grow and build on that godly character. And he’ll reward you. See, God is building strong character in you. He’s promised that as you are enduring and praising him in the testing of your faith, which produces endurance, that the end product of endurance is holiness. That’s being like him. Not him. but being like him lacking in nothing and that’s from James 1 to you have no need of the things that you once thought were important and vital in your life that’s right you have no need because you know that God is going to give you your daily food your daily bread and When you read the Lord’s Prayer or when you say the Lord’s Prayer, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, knowing he’s going to do it. That’s right. God is in the business of building character in preparation of a sanctification process that will lead us to a place of complete rest, peace, and peace. I know Kimberly talks a lot about rest, and that’s so important. So what happens when our dreams and goals are interrupted by loss or tragedy? While Kimberly was here, we watched a movie made in the late 1990s called We Are Marshall. I hope you remember that movie and even download it or buy it or rent it because it is a wonderful movie about endurance. Matthew Conahay stars as the coach. And it was about the tragic plane crash at the airport near Canova, West Virginia. People from the city saw the crash and rushed to the site where the plane was burning. At 7.36 p.m. on November 14, 1970, the aircraft crashed into a hill just short of the runway, killing all 75 people on board, 37 members of the Marshall University football team, five coaches, seven staff members, 21 boosters, two pilots, two flight attendants, and a charter coordinator. The team was returning home after a 17-14 loss in Greenville, North Carolina. The accident is one of the deadliest tragedies for any sports team in the United States and in the history. The storyline describes the rebuilding of a football team after 37 members died. The story also followed a father who lost his son in the crash. I believe he was the… quarterback, I think he was, and his wife had just died the year previously. How do you get over a loss like that? Mr. Griffin found it very difficult to see good in this tragedy and became aloof to his former friends. I’m saving the end of the story for you to watch. I hope you get to see that dramatic story. and what can happen when we forgive and when we ask God to fill those voids, which he does. He truly does. We don’t forget, but we know that he is filling up those voids with his love. Praise the Lord. We’re coming up on the 24th anniversary of 9-11, and all of you listening probably remember where you were that fateful day in September 2001. I remember where I was. And Darren and I quickly got dressed and ran to the studio and tried to find any sense to that murderous act. And we had calls all over the place. And I remember Jimmy Lakey, who announces my show, he was there for 24 hours taking calls from people. It was a horrible time, a day when we need to really look back and see how we can – Know God is in our midst all the time, in us, living us, loving us, and being a support to people who are going through those times. I know just this week I got an email from a precious power partner who said that her ex-husband died in a head-on crash at Lake Dillon. And I’m not going to give you all the details, but they had been divorced for 27 years, and there he was, dead. He was walking along the road, and the guy who struck him gave him CPR, but he was dead on the scene. And then another lady whose husband, they had been married for almost 60 years, and he walked out, left her. I just can’t imagine. I mean, it was tough enough being married to Darren for almost 20 years, but having 60 years of your life living with another person and them walking out. You know, I’m missing Kimberly, but just think in a marriage, what do I do? You may not have driven hardly or you may have not kept the books or paid the bills. And what happens? Well, God is there, friend. God is there. I was thinking about President Bush when he heard of the tragic and senseless act of 9-11. I really believe that he acted with the courage that was needed to encourage the people of the United States. And during his years as president, he also faced the deadliest hurricane in U.S. history. Katrina hit on August 24, 2005, only four years after 9-11. Did you get that? Wow. When I was listening to the news this week, it really dawned on me that he was president during those huge tragedies. Eighty percent of New Orleans was destroyed and 1,400 people died. Katrina weakened before landfall, but still hit the area near Louisiana-Mississippi border on August 29 as a Category 3 storm. Most of the deaths and damage were caused by the massive storm surge, nearly 28 feet in towns along the Mississippi coast. You can’t survive that kind of thing. In New Orleans, the storm surge strained the levee system and left the city underwater. coast guard and navy helicopters rescued hundreds of people stranded on rooftops president bush had to endure another major catastrophe in his presidency don’t be too hard on him today as i look back i’m grateful for a president who had a level of wisdom to make major decisions in both cases no one is perfect and he made some great mistakes which i am sure remind him every day but i’m grateful that he was president and not the president who preceded him or the president who followed him god knew exactly who to have in office as he has appointed president trump as for such a time as this i believe that with all my heart folks so 9 11 why did it happen What does loss do to us when God has promised that no harm would come to his people? Well, not all of them are his people. I want you to know that. We who dedicate our lives to our Lord, we can look back on our life and say, whoa, I just missed that accident, or wow, the angels were with me on that one. But we saw man-made murderous acts in nature causing extreme damage. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24, you will hear of wars and revolutions on every side with more rumors of wars to come. Don’t panic. or give into your fears, for the breaking apart of the world system is destined to happen, but it won’t yet be the end. It will still be unfolding. Nations will go to war against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms. We’re seeing that every day in the news. And there will be terrible earthquakes, horrible epidemics, and famines in place after place. This is how the birth pains of the new age will begin. Those are the last days coming up, friend. I hope you’re prepared for that. I hope you have the word of God hidden in your heart. Oh, I hope you are. When you’re wondering what in the world is happening, remember what God says about those who are faithful. I will never leave you or forsake you. God is building character. And you may ask, Barbara, do you always go to the Bible when things happen? Yep, I do. I go to the Word of God. I’ve learned that’s the best place to be in the secret place of the Most High when unexpected things happen. God’s Word keeps us steady and calm, knowing that our Heavenly Father is with us. I hope you know that today with all your heart. I asked Rachel to play my all-in-all. I hope he’s your all-in-all today. Here’s the Gaither Vocal Band.
SPEAKER 04 :
You are my strength when I am weak.
SPEAKER 05 :
You are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all. Seeking you as a precious jewel. Lord, to give up might be a fool.

SPEAKER 1 :

SPEAKER 02 :
Oh, in your busy day, I hope you don’t forget our Lord Jesus. He gave his life for you. I hope we can give our lives for him in this world. In Psalm 46, verses 1 through 10, and I won’t get to all of it today, but I’ll probably start the program tomorrow with that. God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge. And this is from the Passion Translation. You’re a proven help in time of trouble. More than enough and always available whenever I need you. Remember, he never slumbers nor sleeps. So we will never fear even if with every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earthquakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in you. I’m going to say that again. Verse 3 of Psalm 46. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in you. Holy Spirit takes you into a place of peace and your imagination sees what’s what God wants you to see, his perfect peace and his perfect joy in every situation. Oh, it’s been so good being with you today. I hope you’ll follow me this week. You can always go to freedomstreet.org, click on resources, and underneath are radio shows. You can listen over and over again. Download those if you want to or just listen once or twice. But I hope you receive some good and wonderful, peaceful verses that you can dwell in. God bless you and keep you and take joy.
