This week, the ACLJ filed five separate FOIA requests, and I’m not going to talk about all of them. And one of them is to hold Governor Walz and his cronies accountable. And that FOIA is the Freedom of Information Act. And that was instituted by the president many years ago. And so we understand that we need to have the freedom for the information that’s given out to hold Governor Walz and his cronies accountable. These FOIAs will answer questions pertaining to the fake daycares. Empty autism centers. How sad. And sham child leering centers. I know most of you have seen that sign. It wasn’t learning centers. They had forgotten the N. Thank you, Nick, for revealing some of this sham that is going on in Minneapolis and other cities, folks. and it doesn’t they don’t don’t exist none of those centers exist yet build the government for potentially billions of dollars and they’re talking around nine billion dollars and you’ve heard the billions for so long you may not think of it as much money but it’s a nine million million it’s it’s really amazing how many billions of dollars we just take for granted and yet it’s a huge amount of money The goal of these FOIAs is simple, transparency. Take action with us and expose the growing Somali fraud scandal. And you can sign there at ACLJ, you can sign, hold Tim Walz accountable for fraud. If you’ve been wanting to do something, you know, about the unlawful demonstrations, Giving to ACLJ is one way you can voice your conviction over all of this. Go to ACLJ.org and give. Give something to them because they’re going to work in holding Tim Walz accountable. And as you know, this is Martin Luther King Day in this country. No post offices open, no banks open. It hasn’t been that long ago when our black brothers and sisters were not permitted to eat in certain restaurants or drink from drinking fountains. Their bathrooms were outhouses in the backyards of establishments. There were buses that would transport only whites until Mary Parks entered the picture in 1955 and would not give up her seat to a white person in Montgomery, Alabama. My husband, John, told many stories of traveling with Brother Floyd Lacy. He came from a group, a quintet, the Cleveland Color Quintet, and they supported five families with their singing and going all over the South. And so John began to travel with Brother Lacy on summer breaks when he was a student at Pasadena. And Brother Lacy would tell John that he would drive into a city and have John sit in the back. And he showed John where the colors could eat and where the bathrooms were. Now, the rule was that John would do the driving and Brother Lacey would sit in the back of their beautiful car because Brother Lacey was very elderly. And so John did the driving. He was only 20 years old at the time. And so when they’d go through a city in the deep south, Brother Lacey said, let’s switch seats. and I will be the driver, and you will be the white man in the back seat. Oh, what discrimination. What absolute discrimination. It was a great learning experience for John, who loved the Black brothers and sisters and loved their singing. Oh, my goodness. He loved their singing. And that’s how he began singing Black style in concerts. People loved it. And his favorite song was Blessed Assurance. Well, we were singing at a Black church in Park Hill in the Denver area here. And John was singing Blessed Assurance, black style, telling the huge congregation that he wishes he had black blood. Well, after John and I got through singing, a precious black lady came up and said to my husband, son, the blood is all the same. Isn’t that beautiful? A beautiful memory for me. If you would like to find out about the great prejudice that was happening during those days, early 60s into the late 60s, there are a couple movies you might want to look at. Mississippi Burning with Gene Hackman. Oh, a violent but great movie. Really great movie. And Green Card with Viggo Mortensen. Green Card is a… Oh, I enjoyed it so much. I watched it now four or five times about a pianist, a black pianist who needed a white driver. It was just kind of counterpoint to what they were used to in those days. So you might want to think about that Mississippi burning and green card with Viggo Mortensen. And remember that Martin Luther King paid for freedom that we have today with his life. And I asked the Lord to dispel the raging that’s going on in Minneapolis in Jesus’ name. In my 81 years, I’ve seen many demonstrations. You know, Black Lives Matter, the burning of city blocks in Minneapolis in the early 2020s. And before that, when I was in college, the assassination of President Kennedy. I remember exactly where I was on campus that day. And then the assassination of Dr. King and also Robert Kennedy, Secretary Kennedy’s father. So we’ve seen a lot of violence. Pray that the leaders here will tone down their rhetoric against ICE or more people will die. God bless America, all of America. Praise the Lord. Every true revival in history has been born in prayer. Before crowds gathered, before lives were changed, before nations were impacted, God’s people prayed. Scripture is clear in 2 Chronicles 7.14, and most of us know that scripture. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. Then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land. I pray that you will memorize that scripture. Prayer is not just a preparation for revival. prayer is the engine of revival it’s what makes revival work it’s getting God involved in our endeavors it’s how hearts are softened it’s how spiritual ground is broken it’s how heaven is invited to move on earth Absolutely. Revival 250 is going to happen on May the 3rd this year in Jacksonville, Florida, and it will be live streamed across the U.S. and around the world. And it’s a prayer time, the whole national prayer time, May 3rd. And as you know, May 7th is the National Day of Prayer. So we are preparing our hearts early. Please pray for, one, that the hearts would be prepared long before that day. Number two, that God’s presence would be undeniable. Number three, that repentance and renewal would flow freely. Number four, that lives, families, churches, and towns would be transformed. We are not trusting in a program or a gathering. We are trusting in God to respond to the prayers of his people. If you feel led, set aside a specific time each day. all during the weeks that are before May 3rd. Invite others to pray with you. Revival always accelerates when prayer becomes united and persistent. Consistency are so important. Thank you for standing with the Christian Hope Coalition, not just by believing in revival, but by praying for it. God has been faithful to his people in this time of history. And folks, we’re at the threshold of Jesus’ soon return. And the scriptures are telling us it’s going to be rough. It’s going to be unbelievably rebellious, and anti-God rhetoric is going to be flowing. So the enemy is fighting hard. But remember, Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Praise the Lord for 1 John 4.4. Oh, hallelujah. Last Friday, I was listening to the Encore show. I enjoy listening to Darren’s life. I am so fortunate, so blessed to have the voices of my husbands recorded. Some of you precious people have not had your spouse’s voice. I know that some of you keep the answering service on your phone because that’s the only time that you’ve heard him speak. So I’m so blessed and grateful. Well, last Friday, Darren was introducing 2 Chronicles 16, verse 9. So I want that to be our verse. That’s the first part of 2 Chronicles 16, 9. And to give you a little preview, Hanani the seer, this is what was going on during this time in 2 Chronicles. Hanani the seer said to King Asa, didn’t the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked God for help, and he gave you the victory. God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You are foolish to go for human help when you could have gone for God’s help, says Hannah and I. Now you’re in trouble, one round of war after another. And you know what he got for saying that to King Asa? He was put in stocks. Yes. So it’s not pleasant when we stand up for the right, when we stand up for the justice of God. We may be persecuted, and there’ll be more and more of that before Jesus comes. As I was reading Job this weekend, and I’m going to get into this, and I know some of you will say, Oh, Barbara, I’ve got so much to do. I can’t listen to Job. And I just want you to know that this is so important for today. We’re realizing the power and the might of our Creator God. And if you need help, it’s in Him, my friend. It’s in Him. So I hope that you’re going to stay with me through most of this Job, this chapter in Job 28, because… Even though these are championship days, and boy, I watched football this weekend. Boy, did I watch football this weekend. And it was a, wow, it was just a teeth biter, tooth biter, whatever you say, between the Broncos and the Bills. And I have been such… a fan of the Buffalo Bills. I like Josh Allen. So for him to lose one more time, I think that was eight or nine times. And last year, they beat the Broncos for the championship. So wow, it was so hard to take. But wow, what a victory. And then to see that Bo Nix has broken his ankle. And then to see that Jarrett Stidham is going to take his place. Well, I wanted Jarrett to get the Bronco quarterback position when they were trying out two years ago. I thought he was great. And he took Auburn to the national championship. when he was a quarterback for Auburn. So this is going to be exciting. But I want you to know the word of God is more exciting, even though we’re reading about precious Job, scraping the pus from the boils on his body. Oh, my goodness, it could be anything worse. And so we’re going to start reading from chapter 28. Chapter 28. This is God. And this is Job intermingling and speaking together. We all know how silver seams the rocks. And there have been enough men who streamed to Colorado to mine silver that we know it comes from seams in the rocks. But did Job know that? We’ve seen the stuff from which gold is refined. We’re aware of how iron is dug out of the ground and copper is smelted from rock. And when you go west of Glenwood Springs, you will see that Mineral, Colorado, is one of the biggest granite places in the United States. So lots and lots of refining going on in those days in the 1800s, 1900s, and even some now. Miners penetrate the earth’s darkness, searching the roots of the mountains for ore, digging away in the suffocating darkness. We would be shocked at the number of miners who have died going deep into the earth to mine these precious irons and ores. And he goes on to say, far from civilization, far from the traffic, they cut a shaft and are lowered into it by ropes. Earth’s surface is a field for grain, but its depth… are a forge firing sapphires from stones and chiseling gold from rocks. That’s where it all comes from, folks. A forge. I looked up forge because it’s in the depths are a forge. The forge is a very high heat that makes or shapes a metal object by heating it in a fire or furnace and hammering it. You’ve seen it in the westerns where this blacksmith is forging. The fire is so hot. He’s forging these horseshoes to go around the horse’s hoof. So that’s what forging is, a very high heat. How did Job know this? I don’t know if you ask questions, but I ask a lot of questions because I know God has the answer. Well, he goes on to say, vultures are blind to the earth’s riches. Hawks never lay eyes on it. Wild animals are oblivious to it. Lions don’t know it’s there. Miners go in and hammer away at the rock. They uproot the mountains. They tunnel through the rock and find all kinds of beautiful gems. If you’ve been to the mountains on the western side of the state, there are places like Mineral southwest of Glenwood Springs that have old abandoned mines. Darren and I went scouting one time, one weekend. It was just so much fun. There’s a gold mine that people can see in Cripple Creek, a center for old gold mines. But there was a tragic accident two years ago where 12 tourists were trapped 1,000 feet down, and the mine operator died. And I think it’s closed right now. These miners were brave souls who discovered the origins of rivers and brought earth secrets to light. And Job 28, 12 through 19 says, but where, oh, where will they find wisdom? Where does insight hide? Mortals don’t have a clue, haven’t the slightest idea where to look. See, Job is right on because even today, people don’t look to God for wisdom. They go to and fro all over the earth to find the answers. And the answers are right here. Pat your chest. The answers are right here, right here in your heart. And what does the earth say about wisdom? Earth’s depths say it’s not here. Ocean deeps echo, never heard of it. It can’t be bought with the finest gold. No amount of silver can get it. Even famous O for gold can’t buy it. Not even diamonds and sapphires, neither gold nor emeralds are comparable. Extravagant jewelry can’t touch it. What are we talking about? God’s wisdom. Pearl necklaces and ruby bracelets, why bother? They are nothing to compare to wisdom. None of this is even a down payment on wisdom. Where does wisdom come from and where does insight live? It can’t be found by looking, no matter how deep you dig, no matter how high you fly. If you search through the graveyards and question the dead, they say, we’ve only heard rumors of it. God alone knows the way to wisdom. He knows the exact place to find it. He knows where everything is on earth. He sees everything under heaven. After he commanded the winds to blow and measured out the waters, arranged for the rain and set off explosions of thunder and lightning, he focused on wisdom, made it sure it was all set, tested and ready. That’s right. The word of God is tested and true. So we know, friend, that wisdom is the thing we seek for. Wisdom, you are my sister, understanding you’re my intimate friend. He wants you to come to him and commune with him. He loves you and desires an intimate relationship. When I think of the words of the song in the garden, I see a God who wants to be close to you in every way that you may not have experienced on this earth. But you can know him in that way. Paul said in Philippians 3.10, he wanted to know God in the deepest way. Here is In the Garden.
SPEAKER 1 :
In the Garden
SPEAKER 02 :
I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on And he walks with me and he talks with me And he tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of His voice The voice is so sweet The birds touch their singing And the melody that he gave to me Within my heart is ringing walks with me and he talks with me and he tells me I am his own and the joy we share as we carry there now
SPEAKER 1 :
Father.
SPEAKER 01 :
Oh, praise the Lord. And the joy we share as we tarry there. Friend, you’ve got to tarry. Yeah. You’ve got to spend some quiet time with God. It’s worth it. It really is worth it. Oh, these words that God says, here it is. Here is the answer to the issue of the whole human race. The fear of the Lord, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The Lord is who is basically ignored by the people of this world. The Lord who created this world for our blessing and success. That’s freedom. And insight means shunning evil. These words from Job’s mouth are awe-inspiring. They really are. They hold so much truth. And there are people even trying to find the real truth and justice. Are they finding it in these demonstrations? Are they finding it in these horrible, horrible, crude words that they’re shouting? Are they finding truth, real truth and justice? Do you think the demonstrations going on in Minnesota are people seeking the real truth or justice? No, they’re being paid. And in being paid money, And the issue at hand has taken over. And some of them, I believe, are really possessed. And I’m so sad of that. I believe the cold in Minneapolis, and this is really a sweet moment here because I believe that it has been so cold in Minneapolis. How cold has it been, Barbara? And it has settled into the northern U.S. because the people need to get a grip. They need to get a grip of real truth, God’s truth. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I know that as we pray, God is somehow is going to bring this to a closure. He always has. He always will. And I today, as I was looking, watching a documentary on TCM of Thomas Dorsey, Thomas Dorsey wrote Precious Lord, Take My Hand in 1938. And it’s such a beautiful tune. I love the way he was already in a walker. He was elderly. He lost his wife. And he wrote these words, Precious Lord, take my hand. Lead me on. Let me stand. I’m tired. I’m weak. I’m worn. Through the storm, through the night, lead me on to the light. Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. When my way grows drear, precious Lord, linger near. When my life is almost gone, hear my cry, hear my call. Hold my hand, lest I fall. Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. Isn’t that beautiful? I praise God for the wonderful composers who compose these words that we can sing. Oh, God bless you and keep you. Stay warm and take joy.
