Thank you, God, for your salvation. Oh, friends, let’s think for a moment. You know, we cannot doubt of the importance of faith. For Jesus said in John 8, 24, that except we believe that he is, that we will die in our sins. And without faith, it is impossible to please God. That’s Hebrews 11, 6. He that comes to God must believe that He is. So faith moves us to come to God. Built upon our faith, we think of the words of Jesus, to repent of our sins, Luke 13, 3 and 5. He told His apostles that would be part of the Great Commission to preach that to all the world, Luke 24, 44-47 says, And on the day of Pentecost, Peter preached repentance. On Mars Hill, Paul preached repentance in Acts 17. And friends, when we think of confession, to confess our faith as that eunuch did in Acts 8 in verse 37, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10 and verse 10. We’re also reminded of the importance of baptism. Oh friends, I know in the religious world I am amazed at the zeal or the objections of baptism for salvation. But friends… I cannot ignore what Jesus said in Mark 16, 16, He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. And baptism was part of the Great Commission there in Mark 16 and Matthew 28. And Peter on the day of Pentecost told them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. And then, friends, it doesn’t stop there. When one is baptized, one is raised to walk in a newness of life, Romans 6, 4-6. When one is raised to walk in that newness of life, then one begins to walk new. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things become new. 2 Corinthians 5.17 Thank you, God, for your salvation. When I look at this overall, I am thankful that one can accept and obey the gospel of God. 2 Thessalonians 2.13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved, by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. Thank you, God, that one can no longer be a slave to sin, Romans 6, 17, but God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Thank you, God, that one can be a partaker of a better life, Colossians 1, verse 12, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints of light. And thank you, God, that one can abound within a better faith. Colossians 2.17 Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. And 1 Thessalonians 2.13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. Friends, the word of God works effectively. That’s why I love to bring forth studies from the word of God here from the International Gospel Hour today. We’ve been doing it for 90 plus years and we’re going to keep doing it. And I’m also grateful that we can share with you material to help you in your study. I want to pause here and tell you about a relatively new Bible study that we now offer. It is titled, God and Man, How to Be Saved from Sin. And that little study booklet addresses a number of questions about the salvation from God to man. And friends, like all the materials we offer, it’s absolutely free. So you can request the truth periodical we mentioned earlier, but we’ll also send you this book absolutely free. You call us at 855-444-6988. Leave your name and address and just say God and man. We’ll send it right to you. Or you can go to our website at internationalgospelhour.com. Click on the contact tab and leave us the same information, your name, your address, and just type God and man in the message box. It’s another new Bible study that is free from International Gospel Hour. Thanks be to God. Thank you, God. for your salvation, and thank you, God, for your blessings. Blessings upon those who are in Christ. Ephesians 1, 1-3, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus, grace be to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. To the saints, to the faithful. Blessed us, Paul is referring to Christians, with the heavenly places of the heavenlies. Paul called for a blessing upon the Father in the sense of recognizing and praising His glory, honor, and goodness. Because the Father has already blessed the Christian with every spiritual blessing. For the physical and spiritual blessings, Christians should be thankful in three ways. I submit to you thankful through the expression of prayer. Philippians 4, 6. Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Let your requests be made known to God. Colossians 4 and verse 2. Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Let’s be thankful for the encouragement of authority, the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5.20 says, Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. And in 1 Thessalonians 5 and verse 18, Let’s be thankful to be embraced in His will in everything. Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Oh, friends, let’s summarize everything here. Thank you, God, for your blessings. Those spiritual blessings, they’re available only to the one that is in Christ. Thank you, God, for your love, for your goodness, for your salvation, for your blessings. Oh, friends, we best believe all of this is worthy of thanks. Thank you, God. Worthy of praise is Christ our Redeemer. What a joy to study with you today concerning these thoughts of thanking God. We’ve got one more part of this series. It’s a three-part series. So our next broadcast will be Thank You God Part 3. And we’re going to be building on what we have discussed. And friends, we’re going to be spending a little bit more time with just a couple of verses that express a power of thankfulness and what God provides. Once again, friends, contact us, 855-444-6988 for your free subscription to Truth. Just let us know and we will add you to that list. or the God and Man study, which is absolutely free, that I mentioned earlier. While I have just a moment, you can also go to the God and Man website. That’s God-and-Man.com Be sure to put the dashes in there. and you can download that lesson as well, and it’s free. We’re going to continue these studies together at another time, but for now, friends, thank you for joining me on the International Gospel Hour broadcast. I’m Jeff Archie, and as always, keep listening.
