It will bless and enhance your life. Now join me in our live service for part two of this message, the anointing. Luke 3, 21, when all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying and Matthew says it more clearly, when John had baptized him, as he came up out of the water, it says heaven was opened in verse 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. So it wasn’t just water baptism, but it was also Holy Spirit baptism he got at the same time. He got water and Holy Spirit baptism at the same time. And when the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove, then he went into the wilderness and got tempted for 40 days and 40 nights. Then it says he came back in the power of the Spirit. And he had the power of the Holy Spirit on him, and he began doing his ministry of preaching and teaching and performing miracles. And it all started after he was, what happened to him? He was anointed by the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit came upon him. And so he said it himself in Luke 14, the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach, to proclaim freedom, to recover sight, to release the oppressed, to do miracles. To preach and do miracles, the anointing was there to do it. So everything he did, he did because of the Holy Spirit anointing on him. Hallelujah. And not because he had special God power that nobody else has. That’s limited to him alone and nobody else could ever do it. That wasn’t true. And then in Acts 10, 37, Acts 10, 37 and 38, you know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee, after the baptism that John preached. Notice it began in Galilee. It began after the baptism. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power. This is Acts 10, 37 and 38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil. Because God was with him. So even here, Peter denies what Christians believe that he had special power before Jesus. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit just because he was God. It says again, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit. That’s where it started. And we see that in Luke. We see it in Acts. So that’s where it all started. That’s how… Jesus did the miracles he did because of the Holy Spirit power coming upon him. And let me just jump ahead. What happened on the day of Pentecost? The Holy Spirit power came on all that were in the upper room. And there were at least 120 of them in the upper room. Then they went out on the rooftops and down in the city streets. And that day 3,000 got saved and were baptized. So 3,000 were added to the church and the Holy Spirit came on 3,000. Now if you were to say… Then if you were to say that… well, this anointing is only for the apostles for the 12. Well, what about the 3000? They got it the same day. So you can’t just try to restrict the power of God to one man, Jesus, or to Jesus plus the 12 disciples. They will. The apostles did it because it was for their time and they had the anointing. But when the apostles all died, then that died. Well, what about the other 3000 that were there that day? You know, there were 3,000 more. And then a few chapters later, it says more were saved. And then God was adding to the church daily. And there were miracles happening everywhere. And was Stephen an apostle? No. He waited on tables. He was a deacon. And he did miracles. What about Philip? He was a deacon. Church member. Peter was an apostle, but we’re looking at people who weren’t apostles, even in the new Testament that were told that are said to do miracles. So it went beyond the 12 and it went to the whole church. Why? Because on the day of Pentecost, the Holy spirit came upon the church. Hallelujah. Now I kind of jumped ahead. Let me back up just a minute. And I want to talk about this anointing a little bit more and what it does. Let’s talk about what the anointing does. It goes back again to destroying yokes and removing burdens. But where and how do we see and recognize the anointing working? And I was talking… with someone just a week ago and people are oftentimes looking for visible power and they miss what is just as great and even greater invisible power. Or let’s say visible signs, visible signs. People are looking for visible signs and They want to see the lame walk. They want to see crutches thrown away and people get out of wheelchairs. And amen to that. I want to see it too. Just like I want to see Jesus and I want to see heaven. I want to see people get out of wheelchairs and run. I want to see blind eyes open. I want to see deaf ears here. And we have seen some. And we’re going to see more. We’re going to see an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Very, very, very soon. And we’re already seeing the first parts of it. I believe it’s like the river that Ezekiel saw first. It was ankle deep. And then it was knee deep. And then it was waist deep. And then I don’t know if it says shoulder deep or not, but then it was a river too deep to swim through. And I believe we’re going to get to that flood stage of the Holy Spirit outpouring where miracles are just going to be popping like popcorn. Literally pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. And anywhere and everywhere we go, they’re going to be popping like popcorn. And I don’t know if we’re at ankle stage or, or maybe shin high stage right now, but we’re not very deep in it yet, but it has begun and we’re in it. Praise God. But all this year, let me remind you what trail, path, I mean, the Lord has had us follow this year. And I kind of knew, but you kind of know only the first few steps and you walk it out, right? But in January, the Lord gave me a message that I gave to you, the year of the Holy Ghost and fire. And we talked about the fire of the Holy Spirit purging and cleansing away sin and And we talked about exposures, how even last year, the prophetic word had been that there were cracks going through the US and God was going to expose sin. Well, it didn’t stop. It has continued all this year. And sin is being exposed. Corruption in all areas of society, Hollywood, politics, medical field, everything is There’s the corruption is coming into the light and being exposed because God is doing a cleansing with his fire. Hallelujah. But it’s for the second part, the outpouring of the spirit in the gifts of the spirit and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and the anointing. So then I don’t recall exactly all the order that I gave, but then the next lesson I gave, I think, was growing up spiritually. Okay, God is saying, get ready for the outpouring. Remember hearing me saying that all this year, get ready for the outpouring. So growing up spiritually, understanding the stages of development from babyhood, child, youth to adult. And God is saying, it’s time for my church to grow up to be adults. Stop being the babies, stop being the children, even the youths, but become mature. And we studied what are the characteristics of a mature Christian. And then we went into, after that, we gave two parts, part one and part two, on pride and humility. Because the primary characteristic, number one, of the sinful, fallen nature is pride. Satan was full of pride and he fell. Adam and Eve got full of pride and they fell. And Proverbs says pride comes before a fall. Pride and selfishness are twins, I believe. But I believe still selfishness comes under pride. But pride is self-exaltation and selfishness is putting self first. So they are related. And they are the root cause of all sin. All sin comes from pride and selfishness. all sin. So when we can get rid of pride and selfishness, we’re doing a good job at getting rid of sin, right? But how we do it, we’re going to show you with the anointing. And we’ve been talking about that. Well, then I went from there. Okay. From the other side for pride and selfishness and the opposite of pride is humility. And then the next two parts, we did a part one, part two on love. What love does. Part one, part two. And love is the opposite of pride and selfishness. Love and humility go together. Love is the opposite of selfishness. Humility is the opposite of pride. Love and humility are twins go hand in hand. And you walk in love, you walk in humility. And we looked at the characteristics of love and what love does and how does love act. And we got very practical so we can really apply it to ourselves in a daily way and say, oh, I’ve missed it there. We’d all missed it, but it helped us to get a good picture. After those two outlines, I have the outlines on the table and I hope I still have some CDs. If you missed them, study those because those are foundational for spiritual growth. And now we are studying the anointing because after the cleansing and even I showed you in the preparation of the priests that the blood had to be applied first and Before the anointing oil was applied and God instructed Moses or I guess it was Moses to apply the blood, I think, to the right thumb and the right big toe, the blood of the sacrifice. Apply the blood first. The ear, the thumb, three things, the thumb, the ear, and the big toe. And anyway, applying the blood. Why? Cleansing of the blood. The blood has to be applied. Even it’s written in Hebrews that the blood has to be applied to everything before the anointing oil can come on. And after they had the blood applied to them, then the oil was poured over them and they were anointed. So God, and that’s going to get into more what we’re going to talk about. God cannot anoint sin or sinfulness or uncleanness. He can’t. There will be no anointing where there is sin. And so if you want the anointing in your life, we’re going to look at this, but I’ll say it right now. The first step is cleansing and purification. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called The Anointing. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
