SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you a message that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called The Anointing. And in this lesson we are studying what the anointing is, what it can do, and how you can receive it in your life. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, The Anointing. And even I showed you in the preparation of the priests that the blood had to be applied first before the anointing oil was applied. And God instructed Moses, or I guess it was Moses, to apply the blood, I think, to the right thumb and the right big toe, the blood of the sacrifice first. Apply the blood first, the ear, the thumb, three things, the thumb, the ear and the big toe. And anyway, applying the blood. Why? Cleansing of the blood. The blood has to be applied. Even it’s written in Hebrews that the blood has to be applied to everything before the anointing oil can come on. And after they had the blood applied to them, then the oil was poured over them and they were anointed. So God, and that’s going to get into more of what we’re going to talk about. God cannot anoint sin or sinfulness or uncleanness. He can’t. There will be no anointing where there is sin. And so if you want the anointing in your life, we’re going to look at this, but I’ll say it right now. The first step is cleansing and purification. First step to being anointed is cleansing and purification because God cannot anoint sin and uncleanness. And so anyway, now we’re talking about the anointing. So after the cleansing, then the anointing can come. And what does the anointing do? It destroys yokes. It removes burdens. It does what flesh cannot do. It goes, it adds supernatural power to a person. to do what they can’t do in themselves. It helps you to sing better than you can sing, preach better than you can preach, run faster than you can run, work better than you can work. If you’re a plumber, it helps you to be a plumber better than you can do. If you’re an electrician, it helps you to be a better electrician than you can be. Whatever it is that you do, the anointing will help you to do it better than you can do it by yourself. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. So how do you recognize the anointing? It’s when burdens are removed and yokes are destroyed. And so what I’m wanting you to see is that the anointing and manifestation is not, well, it can be recognized, but only when you know to look for it. What I started out saying is people generally are looking for miracles, right? looking for the lame to walk, the blind to see. And if they don’t see that, they say, well, I guess there was no anointing. Wrong. Because the invisible working of the anointing is usually far greater than what is visibly seen. And let me show you this. Let’s go to 2 Corinthians 3.14. 2 Corinthians 3.14. Let me start in verse 13 so that you can get an idea of the context. 13, but we’re going to focus on 14 and 15. We are not like Moses who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance is fading away. Verse 14. Notice this. But their minds… I think I missed something before I can read this verse to you. I started to say, hold that verse because you’re going to have to understand this before I say it. I started to say it and then I didn’t finish going back to the Greek word Creo and the word Christ. All right, let’s consider that again. The word Christ. I didn’t give you that definition and I needed to give you that. Creo, C-H-R-I-O. Remember, is the Greek root word to transfer divine power and authority and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. And then the word Christ, C-H-R-I-S-T. Let me give you that definition. It means the anointed one in his anointing. The anointed one in his anointing. And why do I say and his anointing? Because it’s the anointing that makes the anointed one anointed. And that’s a lot of words, but if there was no anointing, he wouldn’t be anointed. And therefore, he wouldn’t be Christ. He wouldn’t be Christ, the anointed one, if there were no anointing. That needs to be understood. The anointing is what makes him anointed, which is what makes him Christ. And in the Hebrew, the word is Messiah anointed. It means the anointed one. In Greek, the Greek, it’s actually Christ. Christos is a Greek word. It’s actually unfortunate that they did not transfer. I mean, translate, excuse me, translate the Greek word Christ, because if they had translated into English, it would always say Jesus, the anointed one. All the way through the New Testament. Everywhere you read Christ, you’re reading a Greek word. But we didn’t get it. Because it was hidden in Greek. We didn’t speak Greek. And so when they translated the Greek New Testament into English, they left a Greek word. Christ. Without translating it. And we who don’t speak Greek didn’t know what it meant. And it was buried. The revelation was hidden. because of not translating a Greek word into English. But if they had translated it as they translated all the other words, they would have translated Jesus, the anointed one, all the way, every place it says Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Jesus the Christ, Christ Jesus, it would have been the anointed Christ, I mean the anointed Jesus, the anointed Jesus, Jesus the anointed one, If they had translated Christ, we missed out on a powerful revelation hidden from the church because they left it in Greek. So we would never see it. So I challenge you, I was taught this, we were taught this 20 plus years ago. Every time you see the word Christ in your Bible, in the New Testament, change it and translate it, the anointed one. And at first you might have to write it in above or below or in the margin and draw an arrow just to remind yourself. And it’s in there hundreds of times. But every time you see the word Christ, translate it. I mean, how would you like if I put Spanish in the middle of my English every now and then? Some of you might understand it, but most of you wouldn’t. Well, it would just go right over your head. You’d miss out. Well, that’s what the English-speaking world has done. We’ve missed out because they didn’t translate a Greek word for us. So we didn’t know what it meant. And some people might think it’s the last name, Christ and the Christ family. Mother Christ, Father Christ, and Jesus Christ. No, I don’t think so. I think we know better than that, right? No, but it’s not his last name. It means the anointed one. And actually, let me show you this. I switched my notes all around today. And actually, I should have left this up at the front so I could see it. So Christ means the anointed one in his anointing. And what does Christ gen mean? You’re a Christian. Anointed ones. So now we call ourselves, yeah, I’m a Christian. Did you know you’re saying you’re anointed? Did you know that? But you’re speaking Greek. Well, it’s Greek to me. Just went right over our head. Not even knowing there again was another Greek word, Christian, that didn’t get translated into English and we didn’t know what we were. We didn’t know that Christian means anointed ones like him, little anointed ones in the image of our father. But in Acts 11, 26, it says the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. Why? Because they were doing miracles and they were doing the same things Jesus did. And so the people saw them and said, oh, those are Christians. They saw what they were doing, miracles. They were anointed like Jesus. And so those are anointed ones just like Jesus is. And so they were called Christians. They didn’t call themselves Christians. The other people called them Christians because they saw the power. They saw the power working. These people are anointed just like Jesus. And so they were called Christians. Hallelujah. So in the Old Testament, The only ones who were anointed were the king, priest, and prophet. Kings, priests, and prophets. And you can see in Exodus 40, God told Moses to anoint Aaron and his sons as priests. To serve him as priests. Exodus chapter 40. And then… In 1 Kings 19.16, God told Elijah to anoint Elisha to succeed him as prophet. And in 1 Samuel 16, God told Samuel to anoint David as king. So the only ones in the Old Testament who got anointed were the king, priest, and prophet. Nobody else had the anointing Well, before the kings, there were the judges. The judges ruled the land before the kings did in the book of Judges. So Samson was a judge and he got anointed with power. But then the kings came and they were anointed. So they were the only ones. The common person did not have the anointing. But that’s what changed in the New Testament on the day of Pentecost. That’s what changed. Now it’s not one man, Jesus, who is anointed. But on the day of Pentecost, 120, the Holy Spirit came on them and they went out in the streets and preached and 3,000 more got anointed that day. And the church has been growing ever since. And now every person who is born again is a Christian, Christian anointed. Hallelujah. Every Christian is anointed. That’s what Christian means. And so we need to renew our mind and quit. You know, we need to realize this is a Greek word. Translate it. And as one of our teachers said, translate and meditate. Translate and meditate. Think on it. Christian. Anointed one. That’s me. Everybody say that. Christian. Anointed one. That’s me. Say it again. Christian. Anointed one. That’s me. Hallelujah. Think on it. Praise God. Amen. We need to think on that. Hallelujah. And then 1 Corinthians 12, 27, 12, 27. Now you are the body of what? christ translate and meditate the anointed one in his anointing christ we are the body of the anointed one and his anointing if we’re his body we’re anointed with him even in psalms it talks about the oil runs down the head down the beard and then where down the body What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called The Anointing. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
