On this episode of A Touch From Above, Dr. Luauna Stines teaches how faith and trust work together to move believers beyond comfort and into action. Through scripture and real-life examples, she challenges listeners to think differently, step out boldly, and live a faith that produces results.
SPEAKER 02 :
Welcome to A Touch From Above with Dr. Luauna Stines from the Prayer Mountain in Ramona, California. Today’s episode is the language of faith. Faith is not just a concept, it’s a living force that shapes our lives when we truly trust in God and His Word. The scriptures show us that believing in God’s promises allows us to rise above ordinary circumstances and experience extraordinary outcomes. God’s wisdom and perspective far exceed our own. And when we embrace his ways, we begin to see the impossible become possible. Throughout the Bible, we discover what stirred God’s heart to act powerfully for certain individuals. For example, he brought water forth from a rock. He raised the dead. He restored sight to the blind. These miracles weren’t just random acts. They were responses to genuine faith, trust, and obedience. And now, here’s our host, Dr. LaWanna Stines.
SPEAKER 03 :
I titled my sermon today, The Language of Faith. The Language of Faith. Powerful prophetic word today. You know, Pastor Jill and I, we get going throughout the week, and I don’t really get much time to just sit down and really just share and talk a whole lot. I’ll see her. We’ll have a cup of coffee. All right, this is what needs to get done. Okay, Mary Ellen’s coming. This one’s coming. This one’s coming. Okay, so-and-so is coming to the Prairie Mountain. Okay, don’t forget this. We’ve got to put out this radio. Got to do this. Got to do that. Got to do that. So the list goes on and on. But I’m telling you, when you know it’s the Holy Ghost, when the prophetic word lines up with your message, amen? You know that you know that you know that God is getting ready to do something powerful. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you for being obedient. The language of faith. You know, faith and trust go hand in hand. It goes hand in hand. And I love the book of Hebrews. Hebrews is so powerful. If you’ll go over to the book of Hebrews, I have been so stirred because I feel in my heart that if I can teach you to walk in a different dimension and believe differently according to God’s word, you’ll do something great in Christ. Amen. Amen. If I can get you, that was such a powerful word. My ways are not your ways. My thoughts are not your thoughts. If we could get your thoughts up to where Jesus’s thoughts are, where God’s thoughts are, I’m telling you what happens without even realizing it. It’s a step ladder. It’s a step ladder from where you’re at now. It’s a step ladder that you are stepping up to a higher place in Christ. And you know, faith and trust go hand in hand. A lot of people say, I trust, I trust, but they really don’t. And some of them have faith without trust. Some have trust without faith. Well, faith and trust go hand in hand. And you have to, you ever be around somebody and, you know, in the beginning you think, okay, this is a great person but then you realize that you really can’t trust them because what they say is not true and so you begin to yeah you begin to question their integrity and you know what god is trying to get us to a place where he’s going to check our character check our integrity And God wants to take you up higher where he wants to take you where he is. And if he can get you where he is in the spiritual realm, I’m telling you what, God will unlock the heavens and something miraculous and supernatural. will take over. Hebrews chapter 11 is a powerful chapter. Let me read that. Hebrews chapter 11, reading in verse 1. Now faith is a substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, for by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Let me stop there for a moment. Faith is a substance of things hoped for. You don’t have it. You don’t have it. And it’s made with something that’s invisible. Does that make any sense to you? And yet God expects for you and I to step out of the boat and step on the water. God wants you and I to understand. And what he’s doing in Hebrews chapter 11, he’s describing who he is. He’s describing the wonder of who our God is. So you and I, we’ve been what? We’ve been grafted in because of what? Because of the blood of Jesus, we stepped from this arena. Where were we? In the world’s arena of unbelief, doubt, fear, and all the garbage. And now we’ve stepped through the door of salvation. Through faith, we’ve stepped into an unbelievable arena over here by faith. But… Your brain has to go with you. Your body can be over there, but your brain can still be back in the world. God wants to take your brain along with your body to the other side. Amen? Well, let’s read what he’s telling us here in Hebrews. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which were seen were not made of things which are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, though which he obtained witness that he was righteous. God testifying of his gifts and though he being dead still speaks. Let me stop there for a moment. Do you ever wonder how come God didn’t accept Cain’s sacrifice? You ever wondered why? Because it wasn’t a blood sacrifice. What did he say here? By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice. Do you realize that Abel offered a blood sacrifice as an example of the Lamb of God, the blood sacrifice that would be Jesus Christ? You see, he had a powerful revelation and understanding of who God was. Now, Cain, he just had a half heart. You know what? I’ll do vegetables. I’ll just give him some of my vegetables here. You want some more rotten vegetables? God, here you go. Here’s a sacrifice for you. Well, no. Somebody say no. Why did God say that Abel was considered more righteous? You’ll get it in a minute. By faith, Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death and was not found because God had taken him. For before he was taken, he had this testimony that he pleased God. Now, you’ve got to get a, you know, when I think about that, I’m thinking about Miss Edna and I walking together. And Miss Edna loves Jesus. She’s 87, 88 years old, on fire for Jesus, loves God. And we’re talking, and, you know, she’s got this secret place with God, and she talks with God. She prays in the Spirit. She reads the Word. You know, and Miss Edna and I are walking on the prayer mountain, and I’m saying, Miss Edna, how’s your day going? And all of a sudden, I’m talking away, and Miss Edna’s not there. Miss Edna? Miss Edna? Miss Edna? The Bible says that he was there, and all of a sudden, he was no more. God literally said, let’s take him up. And God took him up. You can read it in Genesis chapter 5. You see, God wants that relationship with you and I that is so deep that it’s not just a matter of our Friday night dinner. all-night prayer and fasting. He wants it more than just on Sunday. He wants that relationship with you on Sunday afternoon, Monday morning, Monday mid-morning, midday, Monday afternoon, evening. He wants it on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. He wants 24, 7, 7 days a week. He wants to have that intimate relationship with you. Somebody say amen. I don’t know, but I wouldn’t mind one day preaching and God just take me up. Wouldn’t that be something? See you later. Don’t cry for me. I’m in a better place. But without faith, look what he says here. But without faith, somebody say without faith, it’s impossible to please him, God. For he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. By faith, Noah… being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became the heir of righteousness, which is according to faith. Now, you have to understand, I’m trying to get you to a place of new faith. Noah took 120 years to build that ark. For 120 years he preached the gospel to the people. For 120 years, he said, TJ, you know what? Let’s just pretend TJ is one of Noah’s sons. TJ, do me a favor, go get some pitch, go get some tar, and I can see a light right up there, and I want you to put tar on that because God’s gonna bring water on the earth. And you know what, and guess what? TJ went over there, Sham, Ham, and Japheth, picked up tar, they climbed up three stories high, putting up the tar. All right, do this. Can you imagine his sons for 120 years He is preaching over and over. Get ready. Get prepared. You know what? I see light over here. Go grab this. Go get that. Go get some hay. Go get this. Go get that. And all of a sudden, and then people are coming around going, hey, Noel, what are you doing? You idiot! There’s not even any water here. What are you doing? I’m building an ark. God said he’s gonna destroy the earth and only the righteous are gonna enter in. And God told me to build this ark. You know what? What people don’t realize, that cross is an ark. That cross of Jesus is an ark. No, it’s not built two and a half football fields big. No, it’s not three stories high. It’s eternity high. Somebody say amen. And that cross is the same thing as Noah is building that ark. And we are called to be preachers of righteousness, proclaiming this word to every single person that we meet. What if Noah didn’t share? What if Noah didn’t care? What if Noah said, you know what, well, you know, whatever, sham him, whatever, get out of here, go do your own thing. But you see, Noah knew that there was an urgency of the hour. Noah stepped out by faith. Noah didn’t know when, he just know God said it, that settles it. You see, when God gives us his word, that settles it. That’s it. The Bible tells me that one day the trumpet of the Lord is going to sound, the dead in Christ are going to rise, and we that remain will be caught up together to meet him in the air. And he says, and no man knows a day or the hour. And then in Matthew, he says, two will be grinding at the mill. One will be taken, one will be left. One will be in bed, two will be in bed. One will be taken, one will be left. We know that just the same way that God took Enoch is the exact same way God is going to take his bride, his church, That is without spot or wrinkle. That means you can’t be involved in pornography. That means you can’t be involved in trash movies. You can’t sit at the movie and watch that garbage and think that you’re going to be okay. No, no, no, no, no, no. I’m sorry, but there’s not even any ashtrays in heaven. There’s no happy hour bars. Do you know how many Christians think it’s okay to smoke and drink and fornicate and pornography and watch whatever they want? There’s no Harry Potter movies. There’s no wicked movies. There’s no tarot cards in heaven. There’s no, what do you call those things? Read your horoscope garbage. None of that. That’s all witchcraft. Jesus said, I’m a jealous God. I’m a jealous God. You see, why was he so mad at Israel? Why was he so upset at Israel? He called Israel fornicators. They weren’t fornicating like you think. They weren’t around sleeping around. What they were doing is they were worshiping other things other than him. So he called them fornicators. He said he went so far that God said, you are like a donkey that lifts up your tail in heat and sprays. I don’t know if you’ve ever had a dog that a cat or a dog that’s in heat. They go crazy. God said Israel was so bad they were like a wild donkey in heat with their tail lifted up, spraying. You know what he was saying? They were ready to fornicate with anything that came near them. Why do you think God told Noah to build a boat? Because God said, I’m done. One day, when there’s enough is enough. You know, when you look and study Abraham, Abraham was a very wealthy man. Abraham had great wealth, if you don’t know that. So when God tells Abraham, get out from your homeland, get away from your family, and I’m going to show you what land I want you to go to, and I’m going to give you that land, do you realize the sacrifice that Abram had, Abram at that time, had to do, step out of his comfort zone, to step over into an arena of the unknown? Because God didn’t tell him where yet, and so all of a sudden the famine comes to the land, and all of a sudden Abram is worried, and he says, you know what, why don’t we just go down to Egypt? God didn’t tell him to go to Egypt. How many Christians go down to Egypt? How many Christians go back to Egypt when they’re not supposed to go back to Egypt? You know, God says, get out of your familiar, get out of that garbage that you’re in, get out of that old familiar mentality. And I’m going to show you a land and I’m going to give you an inheritance. You know what? And Abraham didn’t understand, but he stepped out by faith. Yes, he went to Egypt. Thank God, God slapped him upside the head. And thank God he rescued his wife, Sarai, because then he started to have to lie. You see, when you start to compromise, then you have to lie. Man, it’s quiet in the house. Ooh. I can feel that. Hmm. Hmm. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise, as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob and heirs with him of the same promise. For Abraham waited for the city, which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” By faith, Sarah, this is Abraham’s wife, Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed. And she bore her child when she was past the age because she judged God faithful who had promised. Do you realize how many Christians throw in the towel? Do you know how many people give up? Do you know how many people, they can’t see it in their natural, so they throw in the towel and they say, you know what? This ain’t working anyhow. I’m just going to give up. You see, you can’t give up. You can’t give in. You can’t throw in the towel. Somebody say amen. By faith, Sarah, I don’t know about you, but it sure would be funny, Miss Edna having a baby. Miss Edna, Miss Edna, coming to church. Hi. God gave me a promise. Here comes Miss Edna. Let’s say she’s 99 years old. Well, guess what? God gave his promise. I’m going to have a baby. You see, Sarah believed God. In the natural, in the natural, it seemed impossible. In the natural, she was past the age. You see, God works in ways that are supernatural. God doesn’t work in a way that’s natural to your understanding. God’s saying, you know what, if you will just trust me, I’ll show you something you’ve never seen. But we’re so used to our own way and our own thoughts and our own ideas and our own customs that we’re afraid to step out. We’re afraid to step out by faith. I love our life groups. Why? Our life groups are challenged. Why? Because our life group has to believe God. You have to have a vision for it. The Bible says in Joel chapter what? Chapter two. He says, in the last days, I’m going to pour out my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters, your old men, young dream will dream dreams. You see, you have to have a vision for that. You have to imagine in your heart, this is my baby church. You see, because God will take you from that little teeny baby place and he’ll increase your faith and then he’ll help you to teach that life group and make you more effective and efficient in his kingdom. You see, you’re a great teacher. Jamie, we’re trying to get you in your home to do life group. You know why? Because we want to train you. And the reason we want to train you is because you’re a good teacher. And you know what? We could see you as a teacher for Jesus. You see, I want to get her. Why? Because she has a calling too. She has a calling on her life. She’s a great woman of God. You know, she’s a great writer. This woman here is a powerhouse. Comes to prayer, praying fast all the time. You know what? She comes all the way over here to the prayer mountain to pray and fast. Get her a life group in her home. Get this young lady teaching a life group. Get this young lady teaching a life group in her trailer park that has what? How many trailers there? Mobile homes?

200 souls times two. You have an opportunity. You see, if you can’t step out, you’ve got to have faith. You have to have a vision. The first time I stepped out to start my first woman’s home, you know what? I thought, I can do this. Do you know why I said I can’t do it? Because I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to do it. You think I want to stretch myself? You think I want to have women live in my house? You think I want them to use my towels? You think I want them to dirty my kitchen? I have every dish organized. I have every towel folded a certain way. Do you think I want them to mess up my books? I’m a book nut. I like my books lined up. Don’t mess with my books. Well, they broke every dish that I had. They messed up all my towels. They stole half of my books. But we saw 500 women come through the women’s home. We saw 250 men come through our men’s home. Why? Why did God tell me to do that? Because God wanted me to stretch myself out, get out from your homeland. Get out from your comfort. Do you understand what it was like to teach a Bible study every day in my woman’s home? Do you think I really wanted to teach that? No. But guess what happened in the teaching? I begin to grow. I begin to grow spiritually. I begin to help the girls. I begin to see the urgency of the hour. I had a vision for our women’s home and before I knew it, I had 18 women in our women’s home, and God began to move in his power and in his authority, and lives were being changed, saved, delivered, set free, filled with the Holy Spirit. And before you know it, we were laying hands on everybody in the Bible study, and they were getting filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues. All of a sudden, they were inviting people. It’s like, oh my gosh, we got 40 people in here. We got to multiply. So we stretched and multiplied and made two life groups. Then we made three life groups. Then we made four life groups. Then we made five life groups. But if you don’t have a vision and if you don’t understand how God wants to use you, God is waiting for you to step out like Abraham. Get out from my country. Get out from your comfort. Get out from what you’re used to and let me use you. What a powerful word today. Isn’t that a powerful word? What if Abraham wouldn’t have stepped out? What if Noah wouldn’t have built the boat? What if Enoch didn’t care? You see, we live in a generation today where we don’t understand the depth of God’s word. They had faith. Tell a pregnant woman she’s not pregnant. I make sure a bat’s not real close. Tell her she’s not pregnant. You see, you have to have a vision like a pregnant woman has a baby. You have to understand, you see, this prayer mountain, you have no idea about this prayer mountain. You look at this room and you think this is it. If you really understood the depth of the vision of a touch from above, if you really, thank you, Daniel, if you really understood the depth of where we’re headed in Jesus, We’re on the radio by the grace of God. We’re only in what? Kentucky, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, Tennessee, Pensacola, Florida. I can’t even think of San Diego, California. I can’t even remember. Oh, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware. That’s only a few places. That’s only a few places. God hasn’t not opened the door all the way yet. We’re saying, Lord, give me. I’m laying my whole body on the U.S. map. Why? Because I’m not just looking at this room. I’m saying, God, give me the United States of America for thine inheritance, O Lord God. You know, you look at this room, look at your life group, get a vision for your life group, and then God can give you a bigger vision for what he has for you. But you’ve got to start somewhere. You got to start somewhere. You got to step out by faith and you got to trust God and his word. His word is so powerful. Why do we put two in a life group? So one is the host, the other is the trainer. After a while, they’re both trained. Why? Because God wants multiplication. Church is important. Do you know why you come to church? You come to church to get filled with the Holy Ghost, the Word, and then you go back home and put it into action. God didn’t bring you here just to check you in. And then you just sit here week after week after week. It’s time to get to work. Somebody say amen. Understanding God’s word. Psalms 33, reading in verses six through nine, it says, “‘By the word of the Lord, the heavens were made.'” and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap. He lays up the deep in storehouses and let all the earth fear the Lord. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he, God, spoke and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast. You see, God works miraculously. Do you understand? God doesn’t work like you work. God doesn’t work like I work. Can you imagine the disciples? Oh, no, we got to pay the taxes. Isn’t it tax time now? Everybody’s panicking. Get the tax papers. Oh, where’s the receipts? What did you do with those receipts? I mean, my goodness, there’s even battles in some homes. Trying to figure out, why didn’t you write that down? How come you didn’t write the mileage? Where’s this at? Where is it? You see, God doesn’t work like you work. You know, the disciples were the same way. We got to pay the taxes. We got to render unto Caesar what it sees. We got to pay the taxes. Jesus, the taxes are due. You know what Jesus says? Go fishing. And when you catch the first fish in his mouth, there’s a gold coin. Go pay your taxes and mine. I love to fish. I love to river fish. I love to go out there, sit on the, what do you call that? It’s so different from Colorado. I’d rather river fish than fly fish. But I like to go just sit out there on that pier, put some bait on that, and throw it in there. For all the years I’ve been fishing, I’ve never seen a gold coin in the fish’s mouth. You see, God works in ways you don’t know But most of the time, people don’t believe him. What if they would have said, that’s impossible. Jesus, don’t you remember who we are? Jesus, we were fishermen. Are you kidding? You want us to go fishing? You want us literally to go out and catch fish and throw out a net and bring fish in and then open up the fish’s mouth and you think there’s going to be a gold coin in there? Come on, we’re fishermen. You see, their thoughts, their thoughts had to come up where Jesus’ thoughts were. And Jesus said, go forth and make disciples of every nation. You see, Jesus said something totally different. I like God’s word because it’s living, it’s powerful. It goes deep into the hearts of men and women’s hearts, and it changes and transforms. But Isaiah 55 says, 11, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It, his word, shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper. You want to know how come you’re not prospering? It’s because you have to do the word. Yeah. You see, my first business I opened was my barber shop, but I didn’t open it for me. I opened it for one reason, because I wanted to give to the missionaries. I knew that if I had six barbers in there, two nail techs, and a shoeshine boy in the shoeshine chair, I knew, I calculated in my head, because I knew that me, myself, if I could make $800 a day doing my barbering, because we did all kinds of stuff, anywhere from eight to $1,000 a day, I knew if I could make that, and if I had six workers, and I filled up their schedules, guess what I’d be making in a week?
