Welcome to Seeds of Revelation, a short devotional presented by Rabbi Schneider, a Jewish believer in Jesus, the Messiah. What is love? I mean, that question, it’s a question that many people have perhaps pondered in the back of their mind, but does anybody really know what it is? I mean, the world has their definition of love. We fall in love. It’s when we feel this emotional high, this fullness, this drama, but oftentimes we all know that doesn’t last forever. According to Judaism, love is an action. Love isn’t what we feel, it’s what we do. The greatest demonstration of love the world has ever seen is when Yeshua let his hands be nailed to the cross and his feet pierced to that cross, giving his life and shedding his blood for our sin. I’m sure that that did not feel like romance to him. He was in agony. He was in pain. It was a terrible feeling, but you know what? He did it because deep inside there was an internal motivation that he cared about us, that he wanted to save us and help us. His love was manifest in action. So what is love? Beloved, love is putting somebody else first. It’s sacrificing for them, to help them, to serve them, to bless him. Yeshua said the greatest commandment was to love. Let’s walk in love by truly taking action steps to help others.
