Mike Triem talks with Cary Vaughn the CEO of Love Worth Finding on how the ministry is expanding and growing. They discuss the partnership with KLTT and how the program has benefited the listeners with solid Biblical teaching.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, hey, it’s Mike Treem. I’m here with Kerry Vaughn, the CEO of Love Worth Finding. And Kerry, thanks for taking the time with us. We want to talk about Love Worth Finding and all about it. And also, too, the fact that we’re now, by the time people hear this interview, we’re after Resurrection Day.
SPEAKER 01 :
Absolutely. It’s look, it’s always great to connect with you. You guys are a wonderful partner in the ministry and what we do and more importantly, how we do it. And so we’re blessed. You know, we just came through Easter and Love Worth Finding is going into our 40th year of ministry.
SPEAKER 02 :
Wow. Wow. You know, we’ve been blessed to be with you for about three of those decades, too, which is pretty remarkable. And KLTT listeners need to know it’s been that long to have that legacy of Dr. Rogers on the station.
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, it has been, and we have a saying. It’s called profound truth simply stated, and real truth never changes. And that’s really the example and the mission of Love Worth Finding is that we are able to broadcast real truth that never, ever changes. And we feel like we have one of the best messengers. And so I think the key to Dr. Rogers, I had the blessing of serving with him at Bellevue Baptist Church. And then I’ve had the honor and the privilege of being the CEO at Loveworth Finding for the last 14 years. And I can honestly say that it’s a message that is not only the gospel message, but if you’re nine years old or 19 years, You understand it, you comprehend it, and that’s the essence of Loveworth Finding.
SPEAKER 02 :
Kerry, we carry Loveworth Finding on KLTT at 7 a.m., and also in the afternoon. The best way people can look at it is to go to 670KLTT.com. We have all the airing times. We’re doing something in the afternoon, too, so people don’t have an excuse. It’s morning or afternoon, and if they’ve not heard Loveworth Finding, What do you tell people when you meet them somewhere and they ask about where you work and what you do and you tell them, well, I work for this ministry. It’s very special. Love refining. Dr. Adrian Rogers. And what else do you say?
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, in 2025, I say download the MyLWF app. And a lot of times they’ll bring out their phone and they’ll download the app. And I’ll say everything about the ministry is right there on your smartphone at your fingertips. Which is true. I mean, we have the daily devotionals. We have treasures from the word. We have even sermons that Dr. Rogers preached in the 1970s. We call that out of the vault. It’s what I call vintage Adrian Rogers. You have a chance to donate. You have a chance to give, to sign up for giveaways. All that is there. You even have an opportunity to post a prayer. And so I just tell people, hey, download the app, and you can even see kind of a station identification of where we’re located, our footprint, and that type of thing. That’s an easy way to get started, and that’s a great segue into a wonderful conversation.
SPEAKER 02 :
We’re speaking with Kerry Vaughan, the CEO of Loveworth Finding. And Kerry, that is one of the big differences now that we have all these extra tools. And the prayer part of that, I think, is really good and important and unique. So if somebody sends in a prayer request, how soon does that get prayed for?
SPEAKER 01 :
It gets prayed for, if not that day, the next day. Because we have staff, we have volunteers, even our board of directors. They have a list of prayer needs. And then we come together as a staff, as an executive team, every Wednesday morning at 830. And we pray. And we pray over the ministry. We pray over some of these requests. And so, you know, it’s kind of ironic in a way that a broadcasting mass communications ministry is really truly a prayer ministry at the same time.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, it could be that intimate, can’t it? And that’s something you make a priority at Love Refining is to make sure that the message of Dr. Rogers, the message of Jesus that he’s the conduit for, that’s very personal, even after all these years and the many messages that he taught, it still can have that quality.
SPEAKER 01 :
Amen. Amen. You asked the question a few moments ago, what do you tell somebody? I also verbally say love worth finding may be the quickest way to reach the most people through the most mediums. So we talk about radio, social media. We talk about digital media. We talk about the app, the internet. We may be the quickest way to reach the most people through with the most mediums for the cause of Christ. And that’s exciting. You know, 40 years into this ministry, that’s exciting that we can be on the cutting edge of all of that and still be relevant because remember, remember Mike, real truth never changes. We have the privilege of distributing and showcasing the word of God to get into the hearts of the people. And that’s our role.
SPEAKER 02 :
I think that’s an important point that you make because people might think, well, sometimes there’s the new pastor on the block or there’s someone that they haven’t seen before that they get familiar with them online. And there’s a depth. It’s not to say these ministries aren’t. God’s got a place for them, I’m sure. It’s just there’s a real depth to the ministry of love we’re finding. Honestly, it’s just very special. You don’t get it other places. And I want to say that carefully because I don’t want to demean any of the others. It’s just very different. It’s very unique.
SPEAKER 01 :
It’s very unique. And I tell people, if the message was anointed, in the 70s, 80s, or 90s, then guess what? When we send it out through radio, guess what? It’s still anointed today. The anointing doesn’t fall off of it, right? And so if the message was anointed then, it’s anointed now, and our responsibility is to get it out. And so that’s the wonderful thing about our ministry is that there’s so much continuity there, and there is so much… realism and effectiveness in what we’re trying to do.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, it’s so uncertain these days. There’s just changes hitting us in the face and turmoil and this decision and that decision and the way you see the world react to it. In this uncertain world, how does that solid rock of Christ’s teaching delivered by Dr. Adrian Rogers give us a really solid foundation for how we view life and as a believer?
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, I think I think it is the word. I think it’s teaching people that they can trust the word of God. And it’s also teaching people and telling people that they can not only comprehend the word of God, but they can live it out. Right. To be alive in Christ. You know, it’s one thing to celebrate Easter and say he’s alive and he’s alive and well, that’s true, by the way. But it’s also for us to say, look, if Jesus is alive, then we can be alive in Christ. And so when we send out the message, what we’re trying to do is several things. Number one, we’re trying to introduce people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. But number two, we’re trying to move the believer towards ministry and maturity. And so a lot of our ministry says, hey, we want to come alongside you in life. And if you’re going through financial trouble or if you have some disheartening things in the family or the marriage, right? Love worth finding wants to be the tool. We want to be the mechanism. to draw you closer to Christ. And we have these messages, and we have these studies, and we have this information, this curriculum, right, that you can use, you can digest. But more importantly, you can apply it to your life so that you improve, right? The biggest room is the room for improvement. So one of the main core competencies of Love We’re Finding is we mature the believer in ministry and their faith. And I love that piece of it because we can take any sermon that Adrian Rogers has preached and we can turn it into a study. We can turn it into a Devo and we can turn it into some type of resource that people can use in everyday life. And most people don’t know this. We probably have 80 plus booklets, pamphlets, that we can send out with a letter, and they’re based on every single topic. So, you know, what is God’s will for my life, breaking the strongholds of life, marriage works. Every topic, there’s a booklet. And so to answer your question, we feel like we can meet every single need with the Word of God, with the best message, and with the best messenger.
SPEAKER 02 :
And, Kerry, that sounds like equipping believers to affect others for Christ. I mean, being able to do, not only engage and learn and grow in your faith, but also impart that on others.
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, absolutely. You know, we had a mission statement at Bellevue Church when Dr. Rogers was there years ago, and it went something like this. Number one, we want to magnify Jesus through worship in the Word. Number two, we want to move believers in this maturity and ministry that we’re talking about. But number three, we want to introduce Jesus to our neighbors next door, but also to the nations. And that was just such a catchy mission statement that we’ve adopted some of that, even with the radio TV ministry of Adrian Rogers to say, hey, all that’s still true today. That wasn’t yesterday. That’s today.
SPEAKER 02 :
So you’ve got, there’s so many resources with love refining. You’ve got the daily devotionals. And I read the story, an empty pie shell and the runaway boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER 01 :
You’ve got all great. You’ve got stories like that.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah. He was just full of those. And I only got to meet Dr. Rogers a couple of times and remember that, you know, he was a walking story. And plus he would remember your name after, you know, umpteen years of the first time he met you. And you think, Oh, who does this? And,
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, he was so gifted. When we would have a new member class at church, he would come in that Sunday morning just to meet the new members, and he would have to slide out to go preach. But he would say, I’m real good with names. I’m real good with names. I took one of those Sam Carnegie courses.
SPEAKER 02 :
He’s Sam Carnegie.
SPEAKER 01 :
But he was good. He was good at remembering people. He was crazy. Last conversation.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah. Well, you know, we’re in the weeks after Easter, so what encouragement would you share with us as we close? What are some of the things you want listeners to remember, and especially people, why they should tune in to Love Worth Finding?
SPEAKER 01 :
Well, I think many times when we get past Easter as believers, we think, okay, we made it past Super Bowl Sunday, right? And it’s back to business as usual. Easter is not the finish line. Easter is the starting line. It needs to be the kickoff really for the year and for our season in life to say, okay, we have a responsibility here. And, you know, Dr. Rogers always kept on the front burner that we need to be evangelistic. And so there was always an invitation, always an invitation on Sunday and Wednesday, always an invitation at the end of the message at Loveworth Finding. If there was a t-ball team playing on the church campus, there was an invitation given at the end, right? I mean, he always kept evangelism on the front burner. And so I think as believers, so do we. It’s the Great Commission. But I think also we have this discipleship piece to say, I owe it. to my brother or to my sister, to help them grow in their faith. And we understand at Love Worth Finding because we’ve been blessed with so much content that we’ve already talked about today that we need to get it in the hands of people. And then here’s another component that I quickly realized when I came to Love Worth Finding almost 14 years ago. We are the church for many people. And so there were two ladies, Mike, down in Florida that had made a gift to the ministry. And to make a long story short, I called to thank them and said, look, I would love to take you ladies to dinner and just show our appreciation for your partnership with the ministry. They said, no, you come here. And so I went down to visit them for a day and I found out very quickly that we were their church. They could not leave the house. They were there at home and they had no church home in Florida, but they would watch our program every single Sunday and they would listen to the radio program. And she just said, look, you’re the church for us and Dr. Rogers is our pastor. And do you know when those two ladies passed away, they were great friends that grew up in the same community. When those ladies passed away, I went back to their hometown and officiated their funeral. Because again, love worth finding was the church. And so it was an aha moment for me to realize, okay, yeah, evangelism, yes, discipleship, but yes, we’re the church. And we have the good news of Jesus Christ. And so we can do this. And we can be a part of this until Christ returns.
SPEAKER 02 :
Amen. That speaks to that intimate relationship of love we’re finding with all of our listeners. It’s KLTT, 7 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus some additional times on the weekend. LWF.org, you can get that mobile app that Carrie mentioned. Carrie, thank you for taking the time with us. It’s always such a blessing to have time with you.
SPEAKER 01 :
Mike, thank you. Thank you for what you do, and thank you so much for being a great stakeholder in this ministry we call Loveworth Finding. Thank you.
