In this spiritually enriching episode, Cherri Campbell takes us through the concluding insights of the provocative series, ‘Our Voice Activated Universe.’ Delve into the spiritual truths of using words to shape your reality and learn how watching Jesus influenced the Apostle James’s teachings on the mighty power of speech. By controlling our tongues, we can steer our lives toward spiritual maturity, much like the rudder guides a vast ship.

SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Sherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue and conclude the message that I’ve been sharing with you in our last several broadcasts that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called Our Voice Activated Universe. So join me now in our live service for the conclusion of this message, Our Voice Activated Universe. Now, he didn’t necessarily believe in Jesus at first, but after the resurrection, he believed and he became an apostle, one of the apostles. And he wrote the letter of James. But in growing up with Jesus, his book talks a lot about words. His book is only a few chapters. And more than once, he’s talking about words and faith. Well, he had to have learned by watching Jesus, his big brother and little brothers like to look at their big brother and do what big brother does. So James had a very good impression of the life of faith by watching Jesus. And so he teaches about it in verses two through five. We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man. Now, don’t get mistaken over the word perfect. I mean, don’t get confused by the word perfect. It means mature, full grown man. adult. So versus being a child, and we talked about spiritual growth, being the child level, being the youth level, or being an adult level, perfect is the full, perfect, mature man. Then this is a sign of maturity. If he is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect or mature Christian, able to keep his whole body in check. And so we see again that keeping control of your tongue is a sign of spiritual maturity. And verse 3, when we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body. but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great force is set on fire by a small spark. Your tongue, and today, okay, they use horses and they use ships for transportation. We use cars. So we could say the steering wheel of the car is your tongue. Your tongue is like the steering wheel of your car. Your tongue is the steering wheel of your life. Bottom line, if you don’t like where you are today and what you have, Your tongue steered you here. Your tongue is what got you here. You need to change what you say to go a different direction. That’s what it is. The horse, the ship, that was their transportation. Today it’s the car. The steering wheel of your life is your tongue. And if you don’t like where you are or what you have and you want to change directions, you need to change your tongue. Your tongue is what got you where you are, and your tongue is what’s going to steer your future. And so change the direction of your tongue to change the direction of your life. And, I mean, even the example of a small spark setting on fire a great forest, I mean, that’s what the power of the tongue is. It can create great results. That’s a picture of great results. A small spark, great results. Amen. Proverbs 18, 20. From the fruit of his mouth, a man’s stomach is filled with the harvest from his lips. He is satisfied. Harvest. We’re back to sowing and reaping. Your words are seeds. Your words are seeds. Your words are seeds. What you have in your life is the harvest of your lips. Your words are seeds. What you have in your life today is the harvest of your lips. You have harvested your words. But it also, I like to see here where everything you need and want in life can come from your lips. You can get fruit from your mouth to fill your stomach. You can have food to eat by your words. Didn’t Jesus command the fish to get in the net? Well, you can command. I’ve heard of preachers doing that. Go out fishing. I command fish to bite my hook and they just reel them in. You can fill your stomach with your words. Harvest of your life. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. King James, death and life are in the power of the tongue. And so what you have, death and life are in the power of your tongue. You can say sickness and health. Sickness is in your tongue or health is in your tongue. Healing is in your tongue or the other is in your tongue. You can say abundance or lack is in your tongue. What do you want? What do you want? Say what you want. Proverbs 6.2, you are snared with the words of your mouth. That’s a warning. Be careful, you’ll be snared. Proverbs 10.11, the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life. Well, it should be, hopefully. Proverbs 11, 12, a man of understanding holds his tongue. Are you wise? Are you understanding? Hold your tongue. Being careful of what you’re saying is what it means. Proverbs 12, 14, a man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. Do you want good things? And remember, good means excellent, perfect, beautiful, lovely, delightful, joyful, happy, pleasant. Everything good, that’s what good means. And you will be satisfied with good by the fruit of your mouth. Proverbs 12, 18, reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. You can have healing from your tongue. I mean, look at how much Proverbs talks about your words. James talks about your words. And Christians have overlooked that. They think, oh, what I say doesn’t matter. No, God created and activated the whole universe by his words and created you with the power to activate your life and create your life with your words. The parallel that we’re coming to here is that just as God created and activated the universe with words, he created you in his image so that you can create and activate your life with your words. Proverbs 13, two from the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things. Proverbs 13, 3, he who guards his lips guards his life. Proverbs 14, 3, the lips of the wise protect them. So there’s protection in your words. Proverbs 18, 7, a fool’s mouth is his destruction. So if you are speaking foolish words, it will be a destruction. New American standard, a fool’s mouth is his ruin. Proverbs 21, 23, he who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity. Ecclesiastes 10, 12, a fool is consumed by his own lips. Matthew 9, 29, then he touched their eyes and said, according to your faith, it will be done to you. And then I’m just going to scroll through these. Mark 11, 24, therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, it will be yours. Go back to verse 23. If anyone says to this mountain, I want you to notice there’s a difference between saying and praying. There’s a difference between saying and praying. God did not say pray about the mountain. And what is a mountain? A mountain is any problem. And he didn’t say pray about the mountain. When you have a mountain, you need to get past praying and start saying. When you have a mountain, he didn’t say pray to the mountain or pray to God about the mountain or talk to your friends all about the mountain and talk to your doctor about the mountain and talk to your husband and your wife or your neighbor and your cousin about the mountain. He said, say to the mountain, go throw yourself in the sea. And you don’t doubt. So it’s not just hocus pocus, say it and it will be done. No, it’s do not doubt. Believing what you say, believing that what he says will happen, it will be done. We have to learn to get, there are things to pray about, but then there’s a time to stop praying and start saying. And we don’t have to pray about every problem because the mountain represents a problem. We have to say to the problem, be removed, be cast into the sea. And that is so powerful. If Christians will learn that that’s using your authority, speak to your problem, command it to go in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Luke six 45 out of the abundance of the heart. His mouth speaks. It carries what’s in your heart. Romans 10, 10 is with your heart. You believe it is with your mouth. You confess and are saved, or you can say you confess and are healed. You confess and are prospered. You confess and are whatever you need. It’s an example. Romans 10, 10. You speak and are healed. You speak and receive provision. You speak and receive whatever you need. Your confession will be made to you, whatever you say. Second Corinthians 4, 13. It is written, I believed, therefore I have spoken. So speaking without believing doesn’t do anything. It’s empty words. But speaking with believing is creative power. I believe, therefore, I have spoken with that same spirit of faith. We also believe and therefore speak. What is the spirit of faith? It is speaking. The spirit of faith is when Jesus commanded the fig tree to be withered from the roots. The spirit of faith is when Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves and said, peace, be still. The spirit of faith is when he spoke to demons and said, come out. The spirit of faith is when he spoke to the dead man, Lazarus, and said, come up, rise up. So the spirit of faith is when you speak the command. to the situation. That is the spirit of faith. Having a revelation of your authority and giving the command of faith to your situation. And God authorized us and endowed us with that authority and power. Our authority and dominion on the earth is exercised by speaking words. And these are the examples. He spoke to the wind and the waves. He spoke to the fig tree. He spoke to demons. He spoke to the dead man. Last scripture, Matthew 12, 36 and 37. I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted or justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Do you realize that on judgment day it’s by your words? And people think words are not important. No. And here the whole universe is ruled by him. Your life is ruled by your words. And on judgment day, what are you going to be judged by? Your words. Wow. So our words are far, far, far more important than you or we have realized. You rule over your life with your words. Just as God created the heavens and the earth with words, you create your life with your words. All things in the universe were created to respond to words. And they are continuing to respond upheld by words. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Amen. Father, we thank you and we praise you. Oh, glory. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. We praise you for the revelation that you’re giving us. We can rule our own lives by our words. We are not helpless victims. You did not put us in the earth to be dominated by the earth or to be dominated by trouble, to be dominated by circumstances, be a victim of the circumstances. Not at all. You created us in your image to rule over the earth and rule over our circumstances with your power and your authority. And Lord, I thank you that you are teaching us and raising us up and that the mature Christian is one who knows how to speak words correctly. in faith, in love, and in authority. Lord, we thank you for teaching us, raising us up, growing us up in your image, in your likeness to be your sons and daughters in the earth. We thank you for it. We give you glory. We ask you to teach us every day. Give us a spirit of wisdom to know what to say every day. We thank you for it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
