SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I began sharing with you yesterday that I preached in a series of messages in our Victorious Faith services called, What is the Word? And this is part four in that series called, What is the Word? Light, Life, and Health. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, What is the Word? Light, Life, and Health. And Job 29, three, his lamp shown upon my head and by his light, I walked through darkness. So we already said your word is a lamp. to my feet and a light for my path. So that lamp and that light shines on me. And by his light, I can walk through darkness. That means that whenever you’re in a place of darkness, where you don’t know or understand what to do, look to the word. Look to the word of God, open the Bible and read it, seek it and get light for your path and his light will shine in your darkness. And we’re going to look at more scripture for that. As we go. And what else is light? Light is revelation knowledge. And so back to Psalm 119, 130 that we read at the top, the unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding. So you can also say light is the unfolding of God’s word. Giving the understanding of his word. And we call that revelation. Revelation knowledge is light or it is the enlightenment of God’s word in your heart to your understanding. You can say your eyes are opened like, oh, I see your eyes are opened and you see what you didn’t see before. You understand what you didn’t understand before. And I pray that a lot when I go into the word, Lord, help me to see what I didn’t see. You should do that when you read your Bible. Which, by the way, let me point out, also on my website, victoriousfaith.co. Victorious like a champion. Victoriousfaith.co. Under the Help From God’s Word tab, there is a Bible reading chart that you can download and print. And it actually allows you to mark off scripture chapters. Chapters that you read, you can mark them as you read them and keep track of your reading. It’s excellent. It’s a tool that I’ve used since my childhood. I started using that in church in elementary school and I’ve used it my whole life. And so you can download that on my website under the help from God’s word tab, the Bible reading chart. So you need to read his word. And when you start to read his word, when you sit down and you open your Bible, or if you’re going to even turn on a message that you’re going to listen to a teacher, a preacher of the word, start with a prayer. Lord, open my eyes to see things that I’ve not seen before and open my understanding to understand things that I have not understood before. And so pray that prayer before you read the Bible, before you listen to messages, asking God for understanding, insight, revelation of his word. Your eyes are open. You see what you didn’t see before. You understand what you didn’t understand before or to a greater degree, to a greater depth of meaning. to a greater application, whatever. God’s word is made alive and quickened in your understanding. Revelation is more powerful than information. And I’ve said this before. Many people, even many Christians, only have information. about God and his word. And you know, even atheists can read the Bible and some can quote scripture. Even the devil quoted scripture. Does that mean there was any revelation? No, it was just simply information. It was facts. It was words with no depth of meaning. It was not alive to them. It was not real to them because it was not revealed to them. And we’re going to look at that more about the revealing of his word. And so don’t let the word of God just merely be information on a page. Pray and ask God for the revelation, the insight and the understanding of his word. Because when a person gets revelation, when you get revelation, it changes you. Revelation is powerful. It’s like an explosion of light on the inside, in your spirit and in your soul. can even affect your body, can affect outwardly your life, your finances and your family. When you get a revelation, it explodes in you and it changes you. It is power released. Why? Because light is power. Light is energy. We know that the sun’s rays, we get source of energy from the sun, from solar panels. Solar energy. Light is energy. Light is power. And when you get the light going off in you, it releases a power to change you and to change your circumstance or situation, your body, your finances, your marriage, your children, your job. It changes. So there’s power in his word. When it’s released in you, when there’s revealed to you, when it’s revealed to you, it can change you and it can change your circumstances. Psalm 1828, God turns my darkness into light. So with revelation, God can turn your confusion into understanding. What you don’t know, he can cause you to know. What you don’t understand, he can cause you to understand. You know, that could even come with answers. And it comes through the Holy Spirit and the word. But God can tell you something that you’re having a problem in your body, a symptom in your body. And I’ve heard this example. Somebody was having some stomach problems. And they didn’t know what the issue was. The Holy Spirit spoke the word caffeine. And then the revelation of that was too much coffee. And they cut back their coffee and their stomach problem cleared up. And so you can read a scripture and it can even be an answer like that to your situation, to your finances or to your health or to something else you’re facing. You can read the word and it can be a revelation to you. Revelation of God and his word and his ways is a treasure. You need to see it as a treasure. This is something I learned in my youth and my early 20s, about 2021. I read a book, and I think I told you this story before. It was an allegory of the kingdom of God and the operation of the kingdom of God. And one of the things in it was, was the character in it came across a big chest, like a treasure chest, and opened it up and there were these huge stones, red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange. And when that person put their hand on it, Then revelation began flooding them regarding like the green one. They got natural physical understanding of things. They touched the blue and they got revelation of spiritual things. They touched the red one. They got a revelation of the blood. And so those gems represented revelations. And as a youth and as a young adult, I said, God, I pray, God, I want those gems. I want those treasures. And God’s word was to me like a treasure chest. And I began looking through his word, digging for treasure. And I’ve taught this before about valuing the word. When you open the Bible, look at it as a treasure chest. And you’re looking for treasures, for gems, for revelations. And that’s one reason why I started marking in my Bible, coloring scriptures with colored pencils. And I have green for healing scriptures. Red for protection scriptures. Pink for provision. And I use yellow for glory. Orange is guidance and direction for my life. And that kind of thing. And I began marking my Bible. And you may or may not be able to see this on the camera. I don’t know. But I color a lot of scriptures in my Bible. And I’ve done that all through my Bible. And these are gems, treasures that I discovered. In the Bible. And I encourage you to mark up your Bible with treasures that you find. Coloring them. Underlining them. I use colored pencils for a couple of reasons. One is that there’s a lot more colors available in pencils than in highlighters. And secondly, highlighters will bleed through the thin paper that Bibles are usually made of. Bibles usually have thin paper. And so… Coloring your scriptures, it actually also demonstrated to God that I valued highly those promises, that they were the treasures that I found. Oh, I found another one. Oh, I found another one. So I encourage you when you open your Bible, look for it as for treasure. Hallelujah. And this was one of my favorite scriptures in Colossians 2 verses 2 and 3. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love so that they may have the full riches, riches, riches, riches of complete understanding. riches of understanding, riches of understanding. That’s the treasure in order that they may know the mystery of God. I want to know your mystery. God, show me your mysteries. I want to see what other people don’t see. I want to understand you better than most other people around me. And you know what? Actually, to this day, I do have a greater understanding than most Christians. That’s why I’m a teacher. and the revelation of the kingdom of God. And of course, I didn’t get it solely by myself. I had teachers that I also learned from them. And then I became a teacher. But I have more understanding and revelation of the scriptures than most Christians because I looked to it as a treasure. And I looked at how it reveals God’s ways, which was the kingdom of God and the system and the spiritual laws. And it became clear to me. And then I began teaching that. And so I sought it as looking for treasure that they may know the mystery of God. I wanted to know the mysteries of God, how God does what he does. What you just heard was the message I preached in a series of messages in our victorious faith services called What is the Word? And this is message four in that series called What is the Word?
