In this powerful continuation of her message True Value, Cherri Campbell challenges listeners to examine what they truly treasure. Is it the Word of God—or worldly distractions like movies, sports, and TV? Drawing from her own spiritual heritage of deep Bible teaching, Cherri emphasizes the life-changing value of long, immersive time in the Word. Discover why wisdom, understanding, and the revelation of God are more precious than gold, and why preaching—not just reading—is essential to salvation. If you’re hungry for truth, this message is for you.
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Praise the Lord. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I began sharing with you last week that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called True Value, in which we are studying what is precious to God and what is precious to you. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, True Value. Now, I grew up from my teens onward listening to Bible teachers like my favorite that I listen to regularly. But my teachers, and I went to Kenneth Hagin’s Bible school, Rhema. I went to Oral Robert University before that. But all the teachers that I listened to preach an hour to an hour and a half. Norm. Anything less than an hour, people feel cheated. And yet that is so rare among the body of Christ and among churches. About 99% of churches don’t have a message longer than 30 minutes. And I’ve been told, Cherry, you need to keep your message to 30 minutes. No way. I’m here for people who love the word. We dig in the word. The word, it changes our life. We’re here for revelation, not to watch the clock. And by the way, how long did you take to watch a movie? Two to three hours. How long do you watch a football game? Three or four hours. How long do you go shopping? Two or three hours. So you can watch football for three or four hours. You can watch a movie for two or three hours, but you don’t want more than 30 minutes of God’s word. More than an hour of church. Where’s your value? Where’s your priority? If you can watch a movie for two or three hours, you can listen to the word for two or three hours. And that’s what my heritage is. And from my youth, we go to meetings like the Southwest Believers Convention. It’s for total immersion. Monday through Friday, the first week of August in Fort Worth, Texas. And it’s preaching all day long. Your bottom gets sore, your heart gets full, and your life gets changed. Almost everybody leaves not the same as they came. But the whole purpose is total immersion. They have two speakers in the morning, each given an hour to an hour and a half. So that’s two to three hours in the morning. get a break, go get your lunch, come back at two o’clock, two speakers in the afternoon, given an hour to an hour and a half preacher after preacher, listen to two sermons. Then you go eat lunch. You come back and get two more sermons from two different speakers, an hour to an hour and a half, another two to three hours. You go get dinner and take a short nap, come back in the evening for another three hour service. Of which, you know, they give the offering teaching. That can be 30-minute offering teaching. And then receive the offering and sing some songs. And then preach for another hour to an hour and a half. Get out 9, 10 o’clock. Come back at 9 the next morning. It’s five messages a day. All of which… Well, if you count the offering message in the evening, that’s six messages a day, all of which can be an hour to an hour and a half long. Monday through Friday, and then on Saturday, they don’t have an afternoon. They just do morning and evening. And six days, it’s total immersion. Your bottom gets sore. Your heart gets full. You leave the convention changed. Witnessed? Got people here have been there. Been there. And I’ve done it year after year after year. That’s why all my teachers preach an hour or more. I try to cut it off at an hour. But that’s my heritage. And that’s because we value the word. We don’t want to run out. And one of my teachers says, when he was young and the Lord, the Lord said to him, what are you in a hurry to get home for? A sandwich? TV? Whoops. And you want to run away from the word, my presence. eye opening a sandwich and TV and he changed right then. No, I’m not going to rush out of church. You don’t get many opportunities in church. You know, it’s not seven days a week. You can take two to three hours for a good long soaking and we need a soaking. Those 30 minute messages often don’t give you enough to get you through till the next Sunday and certainly not enough to change your life. But you need the soaking of the word and the revelation of the word. So, yeah, I preach long. And people have told me, no, they have every other church in the city to go to if they want 30 minutes. We value the word. It is precious. We value the revelation. It is precious. We will not cut the Holy Spirit short to say, I want a sandwich and a movie. So anyway, that was my heritage. I grew up from a youth in that. And that’s why I am what I am today. So anyway, Proverbs 2, 2 through 6, if you turn your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it, there’s key, look as for silver, search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord forever. And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Do you want to go home and turn on the news and the movies and get foolishness? Empty, vain words? Or would you rather come here and get wisdom, knowledge, and understanding? What can save your life? Wisdom. God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding can save your life. Can give you long life as we’re going to see. Colossians 2 verses 2 and 3. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love so that they may have the full riches. Notice riches. The riches. The riches. Precious treasure of complete understanding. Understanding is a treasure. In order that they may know the mystery of God. Knowing the mystery of God and the mysteries is treasure. Riches of God. Namely Christ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this is the verse right here. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that when I was a youth, late teens, especially when we were getting deeper in the word, the word that we hear now. I read this verse and I said, God, I want those treasures. And my life was set on a course of seeking the treasures of the revelation. of the wisdom and knowledge of God. I sought for them as treasures, as gold, as diamonds, jewels, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and I loved them and I searched for them and I still do. But what is important to you? What’s valuable to you? What the TV says or what God says? Well, what’s going to change your life? Well, what the TV says can hurt your life and bring you down and bring you despondency and hopelessness and fear and negative thinking. But God’s word can give you answers, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. It will lengthen your life. Let’s get to that part. God’s precious thoughts. Psalm 139, 17. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God. And Lord, I said that how precious are your thoughts to me? How precious is your word to me? Oh God, how vast is the sum of them? Then God’s precious wisdom. First Corinthians one, 18 to 25. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. But to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. That’s the naturally wise. The intelligence of the intelligent, I will frustrate. Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age, the natural man? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know him. Its wisdom does not know God. That’s why all the news, all the TV shows, secular TV shows, they do not know God. They mock God. They mock Christianity. They mock Israel and the Jews. And they are our brothers. And all of that, they have no value, but it’s in their ignorance they are foolish. For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know him. God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached. The foolishness of preaching. You know, people, even when giving money, you ought to be giving that to the poor, right? That’s not what God said. Jesus said, you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. Go into all the world and what? Preach. Doesn’t say go into all the world and feed the poor. Clothe the naked. Yes, Jesus said, by example, you will always have the poor, feed the poor, clothe the naked, but that’s not the great commission. The great commission is going to all the world and preach the gospel. Romans 10. I mean, the gospel road. If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, that will be saved. But then verse 14, how can they call on the one they have not believed in? The answer is they can’t. How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? They can’t. How can they hear without what? Someone feeding the poor? without someone preaching preaching you know this came to me in my missionary travels I came across a lot Wycliffe Bible translators and other SIL Bible translators finding their work I mean in Papua New Guinea there was lots of them in Africa they’re there Bible translating is very important but I’ve heard people say you don’t need to preach to them just give them a Bible It’s not what the Bible says. It says, how can they hear without someone preaching? Many people have a Bible and they can’t read it. What did the Ethiopian eunuch say? Philip came up beside him and he was reading Isaiah. Philip said, do you understand what you’re reading? The eunuch said, how can I? Unless someone explains it. It’s all the lost. Yes, there have been people saved reading the Bible, but they are far, far, far, far the minority. Probably 99.9% of people saved heard somebody preach. Might be an evangelist like Oral Roberts. might’ve been on TV. They flipped the channel on the radio or a friend, someone come up to them. They went to the church service. Somebody took them to a church when they were little, they heard something. They didn’t get it. I know I’ve heard test ones. People read the Bible. They got saved. But the percentage of those that read the Bible and got saved is this small compared to those that heard preaching and got saved answered an altar call. In an evangelistic crusade or in a church. Went to the altar and gave their heart to Jesus. How many of you here heard and went to the altar? Heard the word preached. That’s probably it’s almost everybody that saved heard. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called True Value, in which we are studying what is precious to God and what is precious to you.
