This episode also takes listeners through a profound look at the fruit of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23, encouraging believers to nurture and grow these virtues within themselves. Cherri breaks down how each fruit empowers us to triumph over challenges, and invites the audience to actively foster these qualities in their spiritual lives. As she discusses the transformative power of practice and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, listeners are guided toward living a victorious faith-filled life, equipped with love, joy, patience, and more.
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning, welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to begin sharing with you message number three in a three message series that I preached in our Victorious Faith services called, Who is the Holy Spirit? So join me now in our live service for the beginning of this message, Who is the Holy Spirit? Part three. We are in part three. I’m gonna actually do a short review of part one and two. In this series, we’re talking about who is the Holy Spirit, and we’re talking about the person of the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit has characteristics of a person in the Bible, in the New Testament particularly, that is, we’re talking about. Personal pronouns are always used in reference to him, at least in most translations. I think in King James, once in a while, it says it. If your Bible says it, it should never be an it. It should always be he, his, and whom. Most translations use that. Personal pronouns, he, him, whom are used in referring to the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity, or you could say the third person of the Trinity. He is a person, just like the Father is a person and Jesus is a person. Now, don’t get confused. Person, in our minds, we sometimes think it is the same as human being. No, person and human being are not the same because God is a person and the Holy Spirit is a person, but they are spiritual persons and we are human beings. And so all persons are not human. God is three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We already talked about that. We talked about the characteristics of a person. We talked about last time the Holy Spirit has intelligence. He has emotions and feelings such as he loves. He has joy. He can be vexed and he can be grieved. He also has a will and he determines things. And he speaks and he gives commands. He works miracles and he has personal relationships. That’s where we end it. He has personal relationships with the Father God and with the Son Jesus. He’s in personal relationship with the father and son, but he is also in personal relationship with born-again children of God, also called believers. And in 2 Corinthians 13, 14, it says, May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit The what? The fellowship. Fellowship. Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. So you get the grace of Jesus. You get the love of God. But what do you get with the Holy Spirit? fellowship. That is so important. You need to remember to practice fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. And you know, as you grow spiritually, you can learn to distinguish when you are hearing the Father and when you’re hearing Jesus the Son, and when you’re hearing the Holy Spirit, and when you’re talking in prayer, you probably have one of them in your mind. You might be thinking in your heart, you’re talking to the Father, or you’re talking to Jesus. But don’t leave out talking to the Holy Spirit because he’s the one who is sent to earth to be in us and abide with us forever. He is the one who is called our helper. And we’re going to look at that more. But we’re finishing up talking about the person of the Holy Spirit. And don’t forget and don’t leave out fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. As it says in 2 Corinthians 13, 14, the grace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God and the fellowship. fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Be careful and diligent to practice fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit every day. Amen. Praise the Lord. So that was what we did last time. Now we will look at part three in the conclusion in this three-part series of the person of the Holy Spirit. Now, we’re going to look more at the personality of the Holy Spirit. First of all, we can see his personality in what is called the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians chapter 5, verses 22 and 23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and some translations say faith, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. I like to look at it like this. Nothing can overpower these. These are greater than all of the works of the flesh because these are the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit are greater than all works of the flesh. And the fruit of the Spirit will always overpower, trump, get the victory over all works of the flesh. So that’s why it’s important to walk in love when other people are being ugly and cruel. Because actually love gives you the victory and makes you the winner. Joy. gives you victory, peace. All of these will make you stronger because they will always win. They will always win the victory. They will always trump every situation you face. But you have to learn to walk in them, practice them, develop them, exercise them. And some people, like for example, they say, I just don’t have any patience. Well, if you’re born again as a Christian, you’re wrong, you do. All of the fruit of the Spirit are actually born in you, in your spirit, your inner man, when you’re born again. As they’re planted, actually, I can say, like a seed. They’re in you like a seed, right? But you have to water them and cultivate them, feed them, and exercise them. The way you do a plant, water it, feed it with plant food, cultivate it, keep the weeds out. How do you help a baby grow? Feed the baby. And the baby, as it gets exercise, gets stronger. So as you exercise these, feed them. How do you feed them and water them? With the word of God. Meditating on the scriptures about love, joy, peace, about getting the victory, about faith that will help you overcome in every situation. You are watering and feeding these fruits that are in you in seed form or in baby form, but they will stay a seed or a baby that you can’t hardly even recognize that it’s there unless you feed it and exercise it, practice it and develop it. So you actually, it is your responsibility to work on developing these, but how do you do it by faith? and by the word of God. Feeding them with the word and using your faith to walk in love. Use your faith to have joy. Use your faith to have peace. Use your faith to have patience, kindness, goodness, etc. Gentleness and self-control. You need to use your faith to exercise every one of them. And you do it, then they will grow through practice. And just like an athlete… trains his body. And at first, he’s out of shape and it’s not easy. It’s not easy for him to run a mile, run five miles. lift 100 pounds, whatever. But as he exercises diligently and keeps doing it and keeps doing it and keeps doing it, every day he gets up and he exercises. Every day he gets up and he exercises. Then… Those tasks get easier and easier and easier. His ability gets greater and greater. Whether it’s running, his endurance gets greater. He can run farther. He can run harder. He can run longer. If it’s weightlifting, for example, he can lift greater and greater weights. So through exercise and practice, you can grow all of the fruit of the Spirit. But they are in you. When you’re born again, never again say, I don’t have it. It’s in you. You have to develop it and draw on it. Hallelujah. What else is part of the personality of the Holy Spirit? Well, we see that the Holy Spirit is symbolized by a dove. In John… Chapter 1, verse 32. And this is just after Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. And then John gave this testimony. I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. So the spirit came down from heaven as a dove.
