Now join me in our live service for the conclusion of this message. Number seven, what is the word? Wisdom, a sword and our standard. But I wanted to close with this. Mark four, because this is the end of the series as well. I do want to finish this point. Mark four. And Jesus is talking about the sower sows the word. The sower sows the word. Actually, in verse 3, he’s teaching in parables. And he said, a farmer went out to sow his seed. And then after that parable, the disciples asked him to explain the parable. So let’s go down to verse 13. And he explains the parable of the sower. Then Jesus said to them, Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand any parable? The farmer or the sower sows the word. So the seed is the word. And that was in our last message. We talked about the word is seed. It’s a seed for everything you need. Anything you need, start with the promise. It’s the seed to receive what you need. You need a car? The word of God is the seed for a car. You need a house? The word of God is the seed for a house. You need healing in your body? The word of God is seed for healing. If you will study and meditate the promises for anything you need, they will be the seed that will grow up and produce what you need. and want. The word is seed. The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path. And so actually this is the ground, four kinds of ground. seed sown on the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. So this is people that the word just kind of goes right over their head. They heard a message and it didn’t even get in them. They didn’t take it to heart. They ignored it. They might’ve scoffed at it. I don’t want to hear that. And it just goes right by them. It didn’t even get in the heart. Because the heart is the ground. But what kind of heart do you have? So the heart is the ground. The ground is the heart. What kind of heart do you have? Now, these people on the path, it didn’t even get in the heart. It just went right past them. Now, the next one. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Verse 16. Others are like seeds sown on rocky places. So their heart is like rocky ground. The heart is rocky ground. They hear the word and at once receive with joy. So they did get the word in their heart. They were glad and joyful. But since they have no root, they didn’t stay in it very long. They were shallow. They lasted only a short time. They didn’t dig in. They didn’t dig in and get grounded in the word. They heard a few verses that they liked. But trouble, persecution comes because of the word. Why does trouble come? Why does persecution come? Why does Satan come? Because of the word. It says trouble or persecution comes because of the word. Satan wants to get that word before it roots deeply. I mean, if you were to have a young, brand-new sapling just planted, and it’s just a few blades above a couple inches, and you had to uproot a plant, a tree, is it easier to uproot that one that’s two inches tall or an oak tree that’s been there for 60 years? the new one. And so Satan knows, get the word out before it takes root, before you dig in and get solid and grounded in the word. He’ll bring across trouble. Your refrigerator breaks. Your car dies. You stub your toe and broke your toe. And then your wife comes home angry and the dog vomits on the carpet and everything goes wrong. Like, oh, forget that word. I’m not going to listen to it anymore. I mean, just everything. He’ll try to make everything go wrong all at once. And why? To steal the word because then you’re just not going to hear it anymore. You just, I’ve had enough of that. I’m not going to do that anymore. You never gave it a chance. You never got rooted and grounded and you were just that little blade starting to show its head and you just let the devil steal it and pluck it right out of you. And there was no root. That’s why Satan comes quickly to bring trouble because he wants to get the word out of your heart before it’s rooted and grounded. Still others like seeds sown among thorns. Among thorns. So some people’s heart are thorny hearts. They hear the word. But the worries of this life, they’re anxious, worried, worried, worried, worried. You know, I’ve been listening to the word of faith and these teachings. Faith, power of your words, authority for 40 years. I’ve known some people that have known this word for at least 20, 25, 30 years. And they heard it years ago. But to talk to them today, they’re so full of anxiety, so full of worry, so full of bad negative confessions. Like, didn’t you hold on to anything that we were grounded in some years ago? They didn’t hold it. And so they are living in defeat. Some people are even proud to be pessimists. Have you ever met someone proud to be a pessimist? But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word. So I’ll call it worries, life’s distractions, all kinds of things choke the word and the word is unfruitful, making it unfruitful. So the word doesn’t produce because it got choked out by other things. But then the fourth kind of ground, the good heart, the good ground heart, the heart that is good ground. Others are like seed sown on good soil. They hear the word, accept it. And let me add in there because it’s… The underlining meaning is that they got a good, strong root that took root. I mean, all the others didn’t get a good root or the root didn’t last. So these, I’ll add to it, the word got rooted in them, solidly grounded. They accepted it. And then they produce a crop 30, 60, or even 100 times what was sown. So they’re the ones that get healing in their bodies, financial breakthroughs. You know, marriage gets good. Children are all good. They start living in victory in every area of their lives because their heart is good because they receive the word. They believe it. They act on it. They do it. They live by it. It is the standard for their life. And they live by it. And so it produces the harvest of the word. Again, the word is seed. So it’s the seed for healing. It’s the seed for financial prosperity. It’s a seed for good marriages and good relationship with children, good work. It’s a seed. If you plant it in your heart, believe it, speak it and act on it, then you’ll produce a harvest of healing in your body, blessing in your finances, good marriage, good relationship with your kids, good job. The harvest is all the good things that produce in your life. That’s because you are a doer of the word. And so the question is, out of those four kinds of ground, what kind are you? What is your heart? Is your heart like the hard path that never got in? Is your heart like the rocky ground that trouble comes and you just didn’t get in the word enough? You quickly got discouraged and quit? Or is your heart like thorny ground, all kinds of worries or distractions in life, other things becoming priority that you don’t stay rooted and grounded? Or are you the good ground that you keep the word first place in your heart, your mind, your time, and your attention? You put the word in your mind and you, like I said earlier, you’re ruling your mind, ruling, controlling your mind, your thoughts, your heart, your mouth speaking it, and you rule over your body. You rule over your finances, rule over your marriage. I’m not saying rule over your spouse. I’m saying ruling in the spirit over the marriage, calling it a good marriage, loving, joyful, peaceful, companionable, fun, calling it those things. You rule in your life, then you will be the one. Your heart is the good ground. So what kind of ground is your heart? And light, which also represents revelation, can come and light can go. Faith can come and faith can go. You must hold on to it. Numerous times Jesus said or the Bible says to hold on. john 8 31 jesus said if you hold hold to my teaching you are really my disciples notice there are a lot who don’t hold they are not disciples first corinthians 15 2 by this gospel you are saved if if you hold firmly to the word preached if you hold firmly to the word, hold to it. Second Thessalonians 2.15, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you. And I’m just giving you, you can go look up all these scriptures and get the whole verse. First Timothy 3.9, they must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. Revelation 2, Jesus said to the seven churches, to two of them, only hold on to what you have until I come. Revelation 311, I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have. Jesus would not say hold on unless it was possible to lose it. So hold on to it. Well, the parable of the sower sows that it can be lost. The bird can come and take it. The stones can choke it. The thorns can choke it. You must hold on to it and keep it even in your mind. Other thoughts will come in. You’ve got to you’ve got to take control and rule over your mind and hold to the promises in your mind. You have control of your mind. You have control of your heart. You have control of your mouth. Hold on to what you have. Jesus would not say hold on unless it was possible to lose it. Satan can steal the word. So hold on to it. People have lost faith. Why? They weren’t doers. They lost their faith. Colossians 3.16, let the word of Christ dwell. That means to live and abide in you. That means long-term, permanent dwelling place in you richly. I encourage you to put the word of God first place and highest priority in your life. Every day, seek the word of God. That means read the word, memorize the word, study the word, listen to teaching and preaching of the word, speak the word of God daily over every situation and over family member in your life. Rule over your mind and your heart and your situations with the word and you will get the victory in every situation this year and every year to come if you hold on to the word. Hallelujah. Amen. Praise God. What you just heard was the conclusion of message number seven, the last message in a series of messages that I preached in our victorious faith services called, What is the Word?
