Through stories of patience, vision, and following God’s time, the episode reveals how to listen to the Holy Spirit, remain open-minded,
SPEAKER 01 :
Welcome to Victorious Faith. We believe you will be blessed, encouraged, and receive fresh faith to begin your day as you listen to today’s message with international missionary and Bible teacher, Cherry Campbell.
SPEAKER 02 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you a message that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called Going to the Next Level. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, Going to the Next Level. In my Bible, I highlight in colors with colored pencils. I have a key at the back for all the different colors that I’m using. I use colored pencils because they don’t fade through the paper. Pencils are real nice, and there are more colors, far more colors in pencils than in highlighters. Highlighters tend to bleed through. But the color blue is my calling. I know it speaks about my call. And right here in this chapter, there’s a lot of blue there. Because when I read it, I found myself. I found myself in these verses. For example, 1 Corinthians 1.23, I have it in blue. But we preach Christ crucified. I knew that was me. I found myself. I colored it blue. And then… 1 Corinthians 2, 13, I colored. This is what we speak. Not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit. Expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. I read that. I said, that’s me. I found myself in that verse. That’s my call. I’m called. And every scripture about teaching and preaching the word… that I have found, I’ve colored in blue because I knew that was my call. I found myself there. But there’s other gifts, there’s other calls, there’s other offices. Romans talks about if you’re called to administration or if you’re called to teaching or if you’re called to giving, whatever is your gift, use it for the glory of God. And so there are all the gifts in the Bible. There’s not just preaching in the Bible. There’s the people that ministered to Jesus, the women who gave of their substance. And you can see if that’s your call, then you found yourself. I’m to be like that woman. I’m supposed to be like that person. Or a person doing something else in the Bible in different ways. As a matter of fact, I’ll share something with you. In Genesis about Joseph, Genesis chapter 41, you see I’ve got a lot of blue here. I found myself, and God used it to speak to me. Genesis 41, 46, Joseph was 30 years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt. And knowing biblical symbolism, I know Egypt is a symbol of the world. And I knew that Pharaoh was the king that was God. And God, I heard God speak to my spirit. I was 29 at the time, 29 and a half. And I had been biting and chomping at the bit. God, when are you going to send me? When are you going to send me? When are you going to send me? I’m waiting. And I was, I almost took an Ishmael one time, but God helped me not to. And I was still waiting. I was 29 and a half. And I read Genesis 41, 46. Joseph was 30. And God put my name in there. Cherry is 30 when she enters the service of the King of Kings and goes out and travels throughout the world. I mean, he put my name in there. And lo and behold, I was 30 when I went to Vanuatu. So, you see, God spoke to me. That was about Joseph. I mean, is it a coincidence that I happen to be 30? No. God used that verse to call me and tell me ahead of time because I was already tired of waiting. It was seven years from the time I had graduated from Bible college. And when I graduated from Bible college at the age of 23, I thought I was ready to take the world. And the Lord said, sit down. I need to teach you some things. I said, oh, God, I’m ready to go now. And for seven years, he put me in training again. And I thought I was ready. But then finally, seven years later, I’m like, God, how much longer? How much longer? But he used that verse. I mean, God can use scriptures to speak to you. And you should. Find yourself in the word. By reading it, God can show you scriptures that your heart connects to them and say, that’s me. That’s what I’m supposed to do. And then you should have your own special color of marking those scriptures different than all other scriptures. That scripture is colored differently than every other scripture. And I know that’s me. So every blue scripture in my Bible is that’s me. I found myself. That’s my call. And you can do the same because whether your gift is administration, giving, worship, anything, it’s all in the Bible. The Bible is endless because the Bible is God. John 1, 1, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. And you might think, oh, is that in the Bible too? Yes. Everything about you is in the Bible. You will find everything about you in the Bible. God can speak to you again and again through the word. So find the word of God, get his promise and then dream and listen to God. Okay. That’s number. The third part of vision is listen. The third part is listen to the Holy Spirit. And let me share with you one of the big qualifications for being led by the Spirit is willingness. Willingness. If there is any… And willingness also can be called openness or open-minded. Openness or open-minded. Because closed-mindedness can shut out things that God is trying to show you. And just to say again about this trip that I’m taking this week to India, I had not even conceived it because, I mean, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I was ready to be committed to you, to these radio programs, to these seminars. And when God called me home from the mission field, I was here to be here until… I expected before he would send me out again that there would be the full manifestation of everything here. And then I would go out. So I was just so committed. And when other pastors from other countries were asking me, when are you coming back, Cherry? When are you coming back? I said, I can’t for a while. I’ve got to stay here. And… I’d even told this pastor in Hyderabad, I can’t come this year. We’re still not ready yet. We’ve still got more to do. So I was so committed to here. I was totally closed about thinking of going out. And God used my parents, which he has done before. to get me to think about something that I hadn’t even considered. And first I talked to my dad because he was talking to this pastor in Hyderabad and this pastor was asking for me. And so my dad said to me, you need to think about that, Jerry. You need to think about going back to Hyderabad. It just shocked me. I’m like, really? Oh, well, okay, well, maybe next year. And then I went and I told my mom and I said, that’s it, I need to think about going back to India. She says, yeah, I think you do. I was like, okay, well, maybe next year. She said, I think you need to go this year. This year? It had not even crossed my mind. And then I just started mulling over that and thinking on that. I went and I looked at my calendar. I also looked at the weather in India. I did. God is merciful. God is merciful. But I’ll first say that if I was to think about this year, our seminars are just too close together. September, October, November, and then December is Christmas. But I looked at August and I thought, there’s three weeks right in the middle of August. And God had spread those seminars apart. Right? I looked at the weather, and it’s the coolest month this year. I thought, that’s a sign. I thought, well, if I wait until next year, like February, March, what’s 100 and 105? And they don’t have air conditioning in those service places. And so… I thought August is it. No, but it was all to do with the schedule. I mean, if I’m going to go this year, this was the best time because the seminars would be too close together for the rest of the year. And yet God had put three weeks right in the middle here. So God had done that in advance without me knowing why. You know, so anyway, I look, you can look at some natural circumstances and anyway, but it can never contradict what God wants. If God wanted me to go when it’s a hundred, I’d have to go, but thankfully it’s not. I’m grateful. Praise God. So the point being, I was closed minded. I had not even thought of it because of my commitment and dedication to doing this, but I was not even thinking about going anywhere. And yet I had to have someone else get me to open my mind and think about, hey, you should think about it. As soon as I started thinking about it, I was praying about it and just asking the Lord, Lord, is that true? Is that right? I was open then. I just had to start thinking about it. And then immediately, I mean, within two or three days, after about three days, I shared with them and I said, you know, I think you’re right. This is God. And the witness was there and that was just three weeks ago. And then boom, boom, boom, and get the tickets and get going. So praise the Lord. So the point is, if you’re closed minded about something, you won’t even hear God. And that’s the way I was until God opened my mind to think about it. And God can use people to open your mind or anything else. So don’t be closed minded. Be open minded. Let new ideas, new thoughts, new ways come to you. And then there is the willingness. If you’re not willing to do it, then one of two things, either God will not even tell you because God knows if he told you, you wouldn’t be willing. So he won’t even talk to you about it if you have an unwilling heart. Or when he does speak and tell you, you’ll not even hear because you’re not willing. So an unwillingness can cause you not to hear God. The least bit of unwillingness can hinder you from hearing God. And sometimes people are asking God, Lord, what do I do? And it’s staring them in the face. It’s something that they hadn’t considered. So be willing to think about things that you hadn’t thought about before. Hallelujah. Let me just move on. That’s all about vision. How do you go to the next level? Number one is vision. And in vision, it’s pray in tongues, meditate God’s word, and listen to the Holy Spirit, and be willing and open. And then number two, how do you go to the next level? Then, once you’ve got a vision, then continue praying in tongues. Because praying in tongues is actually the building of it. God can work behind the scenes. The angels get involved. God can start getting other people in the right place. Maybe he needs to move someone from Minneapolis to Denver to get you in connection with that person. So God starts moving like this big chessboard and you don’t see it. You have no clue. You’re just here sitting and saying, God, what do I do? And God’s moving. So praying in tongues, continue praying in tongues so that God can continue to work to bring it to pass. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called Going to the Next Level. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You’re blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
