Mike Triem and Daniel Cohen (News Director for Real Life Network – RLN) talk about the 2-year anniversary of Real Life Network, launched by KLTT programming partner, Pastor Jack Hibbs, and we also discussed the upcoming Daniel Cohen Show on RLN and how Daniel will bring to us “on the ground” reports about Israel and other news topics, pointing people back to Jesus with the Good News of the Gospel. Well, it’s Mike Triem with Crawford Media Group. We’re joined by Daniel Cohen. Daniel is the host of the Daniel Cohen Show on Real Radio Network. And Daniel, we’ve been so pleased to work with Pastor Jack Hibbs over the last couple of years. And our listeners, as they continue to get to know him, the Real Radio Network is an integral part of what he’s doing and now you’re involved in. Tell us about that.

Yeah, for sure. Well, first of all, Mike, I want to say thank you so much. Thank you to Crawford Media. Thank you to everybody from Denver. I know you have an expansive reach and it’s really important what you’re doing. I know that your heart, you support Israel and you understand the biblical mandate of supporting Israel. Genesis 12, 3, God makes it very clear. He actually commands a blessing for those who support Israel. That means praying for Israel and word and indeed and looking out for even Jewish neighbors and friends and coworkers. The Real Life Network is a new network. Look, it’s not even two years old yet. The first, it actually launched on Pentecost two years ago. So not even two years old, 70 million minutes have already been consumed. Daniel, I get the sense that not only will there be audio and video, but movies. The Real Life Network is going to have all types of programming that is biblically-based, but also, in some cases, I think there’ll be family-friendly movies, that kind of thing. Is that what your take is, too?
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, well, look, that too. But right now it’s streaming. And so when I say reallifenetwork.com, I should have said, please download the app. You can do that right now. It’s free. But in around September 1, and that’s our target date, we’re going to have a linear channel. What’s a linear channel? That’s an actual channel that you could be watching on your television set, not just, say, an app that you’re streaming on your phone. So it’s kind of feels like a Netflix right now. It feels like, oh, I want to watch this. I want to consume that. Look, it’s so important right now that we meet people where they’re at. And I know you understand that too, Mike. I know you’re a seasoned broadcast veteran. People want the news. They want it when they have the time. People’s lives are busy. People have… kids, getting the kids to school, work. And so just to be able to say, you know, I want to know what Pastor Jack thinks about the conflict in Israel. And I have to tell you, I love Pastor Jack Hibbs. My mandate, our mandate at Real Life and with The Daniel Cohen Show is to connect the news to the good news, the good news of the gospel. I live just outside Tel Aviv. I’m in Israel. I’ve been here three, almost four years. I’m a Jewish follower of Yeshua, Jesus. And my grandma’s a Holocaust survivor. I was working in LA. The Lord brought us to Israel four years ago. Actually, November of 2020. We didn’t even know exactly what, but the Lord spoke to me and my wife and said, I’m sending you to Israel during COVID when you couldn’t even just buy a plane ticket. But the Lord made it very clear to me, I’m sending you to Israel. And so we bought plane tickets. We had asked a humanitarian board if we could come to Israel because my grandma was about to turn 98 and had never met our children, her great-grandchildren. And so we got a humanitarian approval. My grandma met her great-grandkids at her 98th birthday party, an Auschwitz survivor. You can imagine just how incredible and powerful that was. But we were here, and the Lord said, I want you to make Aliyah, which is this process of becoming a citizen. I’m Jewish by blood. I’m a Kohen. My mom lived in Israel after the Holocaust. And so we did. It wasn’t an easy process. I don’t want to bore your audience with the process of what that looks like, but I’m a Jewish follower of Yeshua. I was with Newsmax, with their Jerusalem correspondent. We have the October 7th massacre and the terror attack. And now I just could not be more thrilled and honored to be linked up, linking arms with Pastor Jack Hibbs, with the Real Life Network. And again, to just be able to speak the truth, share the truth, tell through a new scope, right? I’m a three-time Emmy Award winner. I’m not trying to sell you. I’m just trying to tell you. But to be able to share what’s going on in Israel from a biblical scope with the biblical mandate to carry out the truth to Judea, Samaria, all the ends of the earth. We’re so excited to be launching our show and to be with The Real Life Network, which is just an incredible, incredible venue. It’s an incredible place. Pastor Jack is wonderful. He never apologizes for what the Bible says, ever. And he’s 110% supportive of Israel. I love him. I love his teachings. And I know you do, too. And so we just look forward to continuing this partnership with you, Mike.

Now we’re speaking with Daniel Cohen, the host of The Daniel Cohen Show. And Daniel, Pastor Jack, we know to be very brave about standing up for certain issues. We saw that during COVID. Tell us how that affects what you’re going to do at The Daniel Cohen Show, your ability to be very bold and upfront, and also speak to the fact that you’re going to be in Israel all the time instead of somebody who dips in there, is there for a week, comes back and says, hey, I know what’s going on there.
SPEAKER 02 :
Right. That’s right. You know, it’s interesting, Mike, that there’s a verse that came to mind just as you were speaking. Ezekiel 5.5. This is what the Sovereign Lord says. I have placed Jerusalem in the heart of all nations and everything else around it. I live in the epicenter of the epicenter. What’s going on here? What happened on October 7th? It’s really important that believers, that Christians, that evangelicals understand this is not just… This is not just the Hatfields and the McCoys. It’s not a Flintstones. It’s not a thing where these people have, oh, the Jews and the Arabs have just been fighting one another for hundreds of years, and they’re just always going to fight. It’s a spiritual war. It’s a spiritual battle. And that spiritual war actually started when Moses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt. The grandson, Jacob and Esau, You know, Esau had a grandson named Amalek. And if you know your Bible, and if your audience, if you know your Bible well, I did a deep dive on the Amalekites. As Moses was leading them into the Promised Land, Amalek, Amalek, the grandson, again, of Esau. Jacob and Esau forgave one another. They were bitter brothers. They forgave one another. Amalek never did. And they attacked the Israelites. And King Saul didn’t do what the Lord had him do. He said, I want you to kill the Amalekites. Kill them all. Kill women, children. He even said, kill the animals. And Saul didn’t do that. He kept the choice animals. He kept the king alive. And because of that, the prophet Samuel kind of was sent in a… Kind of sent in as a cleanup hitter. He had to get rid of the king. But the Lord says, he says, you will be fighting the spirit of Amalek from generation to generation. The fight is the Lord’s. And so what we’re seeing is not just a land grab. What we’re seeing is a spiritual war. If you read the Bible, the Bible is a Jewish book from beginning to end. Right? It’s a Jewish book. And I tell people who are Jewish, you have to know this. It’s a Jewish book. It’s promised. This is the land of promise. I have three kids. Do you have kids, Mike? How old are your kids?
SPEAKER 01 :
I do. I have kids all the way through 20s and 30s.
SPEAKER 02 :
There you go. So great. So if you’re Satan, if you’re the enemy of God, you can’t. God made a covenant with himself that he would protect the nation of Israel. He says, I’ll never leave you or forsake you. I’m a father, right? You want to attack me? Fine. But if you attack my kids, that really hurts. And so what we have seen for the centuries, for the millennia, is the spirit of Amalek, this descendants, these Amalekites, and that spirit of that exists in Gaza, Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah. These are all, this is the spirit of Amalek, which has risen up to try to attack the Jewish people, the people that God made a covenant with himself to protect in this nation. It’s really important that if you’re a Christian, if you’re an evangelical, that you know this. and that there’s a commanded blessing for supporting Israel. I’ve walked around the Gaza border with Mike Huckabee before he was the ambassador to Israel. I’ve walked around the Gaza border after October 7th with Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State. I’ve walked around the Gaza border with Nikki Haley. They understand this. It’s important that you understand. There’s not a both and. I know that there’s war fatigue and people are kind of like, ah… You know, it’s like Ukraine. When I hear stories about Ukraine, I get it. This has been going on a really long time. You must know that Ukraine and Israel aren’t the same. They’re different. They are completely different. There’s a commanded blessing. You must understand that’s a spiritual war that’s been waged against God’s chosen people in Israel. Not better. Just chosen, chosen people that God would reveal himself through. The book, the Bible, the good book, the gospel, right? The Old Testament and the New Testament, it’s how God revealed his character. Satan can’t attack God. He attacks his kids, and we see it every single day in the news.
SPEAKER 01 :
It’s not just an Israel issue too, Daniel, isn’t it? What’s happening there? There are ramifications for here in the States, and I think people forget that. And there’s evil we’re fighting against. While people may not make that link, the facts are what’s happening in Israel, we don’t stand for what God has commanded. Then we’re just going to see more erosion here. Same way. There’s those issues. And then tell us about the topics. What will you bring that listeners will be able to hear that will be different?
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I got to tell you, thank you, Mike. That’s a really great question, because this isn’t just Christian news. We’re not we’re not singing from the same song sheet and just trying to preach to the choir. Our newscast is going to be a newscast, like I said, where we connect the news to the good news and where we can and we say, hey, what does the Bible say about tariffs? what does the bible say about you know the things that were that are in the news today what does the bible say about paying your taxes right give to caesar what is caesar’s and uh and so our mandate is just going to be to tell the truth now you may think well what’s the big deal that’s actually a radical concept it’s a radical idea in the news today like And let me tell you why. I was in the first group of correspondent journalists here in Israel that saw the unedited Hamas massacre right after October 7th. Right. And I came out and I did a live shot for Newsmax. Love Newsmax. Love them. They’ve been wonderful there. I have all wonderful, positive things to say about them. But I had correspondents that when I say that Newsmax never told me what to say or how to say it. They just said, Dan, you are you are our eyes and ears on the ground. We trust you. Tell us what’s going on. I have friends who are correspondents for other international media outlets, ones that, you know, and they’re not allowed to call Hamas terrorists. They have to call Hamas freedom fighters. or militants. And it makes my stomach, it makes me sick to even think. Freedom fighter. I mean, you know what they did on October 7th. I don’t know if there’s children listening, so I don’t have to repeat everything. But you know, it’s actually worse, believe it or not, worse than you know. I watched that October 7th massacre footage. And one of my friends who’s a high up spokesperson for the IDF, he said, Dan, we didn’t even show you the worst of it. And I said, what could be worse than the hell on earth that I just saw? These people were asleep in their beds on a Saturday morning. And, you know, you know what happened. And I can’t even repeat it to you, Mike. I can’t even tell you right now. You’d have to beep it all out. It’s worse. So my mandate, our mandate, your mandate. And if you’re a Christian, if you’re an evangelical, if you’re listening, there’s such an opportunity. My mandate to tell the truth. But you, I would encourage you, no matter where you’re listening from, Denver, Northern California. This is an opportunity right now. The Jewish people here in Israel, the congregation that I attend, we’re seeing Jewish people who are coming to faith. Their hearts have been ripped open. Their chests have been ripped open. Their hearts are more sensitive and more open now than they ever have before. And this is the church’s opportunity to step in and just love them. Love your Jewish neighbors. Love your friends. Love the people that you see at work, the people that you see at school. You don’t even have to clobber them over the head with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. That’s actually not how you win people over. It’s not like with a Bible. The way is just loving them. Be kind to them. Ask them how they’re doing. Do you have family in Israel? How were they affected on October 7th? Cook a meal. Take their trash can out. I mean, there are so many ways that you can love people, that you can love your Jewish neighbors and friends. And right now, more than ever, your Jewish friends, I promise you, they need it. There was about 72 hours. There was about a week after October 7th where there was a lot of sympathy. But now we’re seeing, we have seen a total reversal. where the Al Jazeera’s and the BBC’s and these other networks are calling Israel a genocide, when in fact Israel suffered a genocide. Israel suffered a Holocaust 2.0. My grandmother was in Auschwitz. What happened was a genocide, trying to kill Jews just for the sake of them being Jewish. And Israel saying, we won’t tolerate it. We’re not going to put up with it. Hamas, the leadership now says, given the opportunity, they will do an October 7th again and again and again. Would you want to live next to somebody who says, I will wait until you least expect it, maybe on a Saturday morning or sometime in the middle of the night when you’re asleep, and I will lead a band that will break in, murder you, do unspeakable things to your daughters and your wives, your wife? No, of course not. Israel is doing what it must do while Hamas, the cowards, hide in mosques, they hide in tunnels under hospitals, they hide in schools, there’s weaponry that they hide in children’s bedrooms. And then when Israel… When Israel strikes, they say, oh, you struck a hospital. No, we didn’t. Israel didn’t strike a hospital. Cowards, you’re hiding in a hospital because you know Israel doesn’t want to kill civilians like you, like Hamas does.
