It’s a very important story about these basics of freedom and free markets and capitalism and those pesky PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats and interested parties that want to try to control our lives. As you know, we search for truth and clarity on the show by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. Something’s a good idea. You should not have to force people to do it. And socialism is a bad idea. And ultimately, it has to come down to force. And so that’s why we need to continue to shed light on what is happening here. We have in elected offices at the local level, in the county and the state level here in Colorado. And we’re seeing, of course, in New York, the possibility of a mayor that is a socialist slash communist. But we have that occurring right here in our local government as well. So that’s why we have to shed light on what is going on and continue to to assess these things through this lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. And a democracy ultimately comes down to 50% plus one. It comes down to mob rule. And when we see so many different politicians that talk about how important democracy is, that someone’s a threat against democracy, and we have to realize that democracy is really mob rule. And the founders understood, they looked at all these different ways of governing and came up with a constitutional republic that is democratically elected by an engaged citizenry. Because, and let’s back this out, because our citizenry has been unengaged. Now we’re seeing people that are starting to pay attention again and become engaged and are making a difference. But to push back on this movement, Really, well over 100 years of this march to socialism, it takes a lot to get this whole thing turned around. And we must engage in this battle of ideas to do so. So remember, it’s not compassionate and it’s not altruistic to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, their freedom, livelihoods, opportunity, childhoods or lives via force. Force can be a weapon, but it’s policy, unpredictable and excessive taxation. Fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the agenda of the World Economic Forum and globalist elites played out through the United Nations, this Colorado state legislature, this governor. But land use codes, zoning regulations, force fees, all of these things are taking away our property. And so that’s why we have to shed light on what is happening there. On the show, we focus on the issues. We’ll mention the people that are pushing the issues, but we are staying out of the eighth-grade girl fighting that can happen so easily by adults whenever we get to politics. And so we need to stay focused on the issues and understand how to articulate these issues, first of all, to ourselves and then to those that we are talking with. And my friends, we have to realize that not all ideas are equal in the battle of ideas. And when we are encouraged to take a look at foundational principles And because somebody else feels something different, that we have to, I guess, decrease the foundational principles to match up with somebody’s just their idea. And we can see this. in this whole transgender, this whole language thing, where basically in Colorado, with House Bill 25-13-12, the people will be forced to use pronouns of someone who they know that the sex is actually a male, and they might be forced to use female pronouns. This is an idea that doesn’t match up to nature’s law. And so we need to be able to communicate these foundational principles of nature’s law. Man, woman, good, evil. order, chaos. We need to understand that and be able to engage in that. So I found a really interesting, we’re changing gears now, for our word of the day. And it’s palimpsest. And it’s spelled P-A-L-I, one more time, P-A-L-I-M-P-S-E-S-T. And in its original use, it refers to writing material, such as parchment manuscript, used one or more times after earlier writing had been erased. The underlying text is said to be in palimpsest. And it’s been extended to use, refers to something that has usually diverse layers or aspects apparent beneath the surface. So they gave a couple of examples. Scholars believe the motive for making palimpsest was often economic. Reusing parchment was cheaper than preparing a new skin. And then another sentence, the ancient city is an architectural palimpsest. And the explanation on this was that long ago, these writing surfaces were so highly valued that they were often used more than once. And in its original term, it referred to a form of recycling in which an old document was erased to make room for a new one when parchment ran short. It is from the word, the Greek word palimpsestos, meaning scraped again. It says, fortunately for modern scholars, the erasing process wasn’t completely effective, so the original could often be distinguished under the newer writing. The Republica by Roman statesman and orator Cicero is one of the many documents that were recovered from a palimpsest. It says nowadays the word palimpsest can refer not only to such a document, but to anything that has multiple layers apparent beneath the surface. And I would say, would you say that looking at these motives of these radicalized shooters, as you drill down through the palimpsest on that, and this was a headline that I found that I’m not this familiar with this. This is from NBC News, but it says extremists are using discord to recruit American youth officials warned this year. So this seems like this is something that we really need to take a look at. It says the tension has been increased to discord after the reports that the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing used the platform. And apparently, it says state and federal law enforcement agencies warned earlier this year that the young people are at risk of radicalization. But I remember going into a bookstore, one of the major bookstores, and this was six years ago, and there was a whole… display in the student or the children’s slash student area where it was all about becoming an activist. So this radicalization has been occurring for quite some time, and we’re going to need to learn more about this for sure. Yesterday, I was talking with my friend Alan, and he suggested, well, he mentioned Alexander Solzhenitsyn. And I thought, let’s go back to him for a quote. So Solzhenitsyn was born in 1918, died in 2008, and he was a Soviet and Russian author and dissident who helped to raise global awareness of political repression in the Soviet Union, especially the Gulag prison system. He was awarded the 1970 Nobel Prize in Literature for the ethical forces with which he has pursued the indispensable traditions of Russian literature. And it goes on to say that Solzhenitsyn was born into a family that defied the Soviet anti-religious campaign in the 1920s and remained devout members of the Russian Orthodox Church. However, he initially lost his faith in Christianity, became an atheist, and embraced Marxism and Leninism. While serving as a captain in the Red Army during World War II, Solzhenitsyn was arrested by SMERSH and sentenced to eight years in the Gulag and then internal exile for calling for the overthrow of the Soviet regime in private correspondence with another field officer. As a result of his experience in prison with the camps, he gradually became a philosophically-minded Eastern Orthodox Christian. So he was thrown into the gulag because he had called for the overthrow of a totalitarianism regime. So I think that we have to be very careful here in America. as we are talking about speech. Because I think that overthrowing a totalitarianism government, we need to be able to say that. And so we have to be very careful about this whole speech thing. We’re going to be staying on this on a pretty regular basis in light of the fact that Charlie Kirk was murdered because of what he was saying and what he was thinking. So this is what Alexander Solzhenitsyn said. He said, the simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie. One word of truth outweighs the world. And I’ll let you just think about that all day as we are seeing this assault upon speech and upon nature’s law in our country. And producer Joe had a really good point. Joe?

My point was I was thinking about the left and how they call Trump authoritarian or Hitler, you know. And what jumped in my mind is based off of that story, wouldn’t they be in jail right now for saying things like that if he was authoritarian? Yeah. I love the way you connected that dot, Producer Joe.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well done. Very well done. So thank you. And let’s jump over here to a citizen watchdog and just really a concerned citizen, and that is Mike Rolick. And he really has his ear to the ground on many things that are going on. Mike Rolick, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 10 :
Good morning, Kim. How are you doing?
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, I am doing well. And we’re going to have you as featured guest next week on one of the shows. I think it is. I think it’s next Wednesday. But because we need a little bit more time. And we’ve talked about the the Glow Park redevelopment is first of all, is there any new things that we need to know about that?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well. We are waiting to see if any companies have put in bids. So far, from what I’ve been hearing, is no companies have been interested in it. As of such, there are some definite physical limitations on that property, including the floodplain and the permanent slope easement, the EVA, the emergency vehicle access restrictions, having to go through a different property to get to it. So I don’t know if it’s the most attractive property. But I am hearing the same situation is coming up in Littleton and in Golden. So if anyone’s out there in Littleton or Golden, you know, feel free to reach out and we can maybe discuss some potential steps there as well to take a look at these things.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay, and just the cliff notes on this, this is the possible redevelopment of properties that could change the fabric of a neighborhood. Would you say that’s the bottom line on it?
SPEAKER 10 :
I think the bottom line is it’s the unused property. or underused state-owned property, and not that it’s just home ownership, which we’ll get to in a second, but the fact that the state would have the 99-year ground lease and enter a public-private partnership with a larger company, obviously, to build property. a multifamily situation. The one here in Globe Park would be up to eight stories tall and 40 dwelling units per acre. So it’s not about just the building of homes, but yes, you’re right. It’s about the changing of the physical characteristics, traffic, how many kids have to go to school in the sense that, you know, is that going to be a tax implication to get to build up resources, the strain on the local infrastructure in general, water, sewer, sanitation, fire, things like that. But also just that that odd feeling that I get when I realized that the state would be owning the ground lease for 99 years, whereas the land would not be privately held.
SPEAKER 20 :
And that’s not the proper role of government. And that’s one of the things that we have to always look at as a foundational principle. Let’s move over to an issue that you brought up. And I actually had thought about this when I was on city council, because some of these affordable housing programs, subsidized housing, And we’ll let that be out there. That’s subsidized by the government. But what I also saw was the potential that they were going to say, if you lived in these units, that you could not have a firearm. And then you’ve connected a dot with many of the things that, like BlackRock is buying a lot of property. And that could be a Second Amendment question. So set this up for us, Mike Rollick. Okay.
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, you know, I was thinking about this the other day, and what happens sometimes is with the Ralston Valley Coalition and other groups that I work with, we’re very multi-partisan because land use touches us all. However, a lot of folks in the more Republican side… would say, well, it’s a private land use. Why are you guys involved? And I really have to do some soul searching on things like that. And one of the things I realize is when you’re talking about a large corporation, smaller than BlackRock still, but there are large corporations who come out and are pushing the rental-only communities. You’ll never have a chance to buy And there’s a cultural shift that they’re pushing. I don’t know if it’s real or not, but they’re saying, oh, why would you ever want to take care of a yard? Just let us do repairs. We can change your light bulbs, tongue in cheek, obviously, but why would you want to repair a fence? just lock and leave, right? Lock and leave. But something comes along with that. When people decide to, even, even if it’s a luxury rental, couldn’t just be affordable housing, but even a luxury rental, because certain, certain companies pride themselves on being above the rental market rate, but they are allowed to restrict your firearms within a home. And I said, well, gosh, you know, the state just throwing it out there could, uh, you know, promote zoning that promotes institutional ownership, say, and the institutional owners may do the restricting of a particular right of a population. But the government, quote unquote, would never have to get involved in that that debate. So, you know, going toward the Second Amendment, I say, well, That’s an interesting situation where if the institutional owners, which could be a mom-and-pop owner as well, that they’re completely allowed in many states to say, you can’t have a firearm in my home, and that’s due to the freedom of contract. So even though I have a Second Amendment right, as long as it’s not something like child labor or one of the other illegal things to contract with, you can literally say, sure, as long as I enter – like if I’m renting a home from UCAM – You and I are both allowed to agree that my firearm cannot enter the home with me. Therefore, I have effectively lost my Second Amendment right in the home that I’m renting. I know in California, it would count as a less than freehold estate. But I am giving some of my rights back to you because you’re the one that’s controlling that situation. So when we’re seeing this discussion about changing all the zoning to higher and higher density, higher and higher density generally leads to multifamily situations. And it’s always talked about in the lens of affordability. But what I don’t think we can afford to do is lose these little pieces of sovereignty in our own private lives. So that’s why I would encourage the more conservative Republican sides to look at zoning. Like we had that nice hour-long discussion with Natalie Menton, zoning can be used – As a force for freedom as well. And single family homes, the term is no longer allowed in Colorado. But the idea of having single family homes, there’s a lot of a lot of searches where they say it’s exclusionary zoning. It’s got a lot of stigma to it. But like I’ve had this discussion with certain folks. rental companies where, A, you can never escape inflation because you can never pay off a rental. You’re always subject to inflation at that point. And B, all of your rights, whether Second Amendment or what have you, they can be truncated in certain ways. by the leaseholder. I’m sorry, the landowner. Certain types of dog breeds, say. That’s the way it’s going to be. No dogs at all. No firearms. And then on and on down the line, possibly. So even if they’re tiny homes, and I had this discussion with a particular company after hearing a Jeff go, but even if it’s tiny homes, if someone has a chance to own a piece of dirt, as opposed to being in a multifamily. It’s just a piece of dirt, and I don’t care if it’s a one-bedroom house. It’s yours. Obviously, we still have that bundle of rights with the state. We’re not talking a lodeal title, but effectively, you can make the decisions within your walls. And that’s what I worry about when we’re trending towards this kind of rental market and it’s pushed towards multifamily. I’m not talking about home or field affordability. I’m not trying to exclude anyone. I’m hoping everybody gets the chance to own and everybody has that opportunity to run their own lives to the maximum extent.
SPEAKER 20 :
Boy, you bring up such an important point. And when the guys came back from World War II, there were neighborhoods that were built, and they were tiny homes. They were kitchen, living room, laundry room, and two bedrooms and a bathroom. And and and they came back and and through all that, though, the great middle class was was really created at that particular time. So home ownership, as we’ve talked with Karen Levine on a regular basis, is really a way for people to start to create wealth for themselves. And you bring up so many interesting points on this. I was even thinking, Mike. OK, we’re talking about the Second Amendment, the right to bear a firearm if you are in a rental unit. But I’ve been talking a lot about speech and thought. And in fact, there was a woman who in the UK was arrested for silently praying. And so I know this seems impossible, but it’s not. You could get to a point where in your rental they would say that you couldn’t say certain things possibly. I know that seems like that’s a big leap, but the Second Amendment is in the Constitution to protect all of the other amendments. So if someone wants to take away your Second Amendment rights, the right to keep and bear a firearm, to protect yourself, and your family against bad actors, what’s to say then that they wouldn’t go after the other rights as well, Mike Rollick?
SPEAKER 10 :
Well, that is unfortunately how this road could go. But I’ll take it just a little easier step. If the landlord’s paying your electricity, they might be able to, and I’ll just look this up real quick because I’ve been thinking about this, they can start banning hydro devices. So, you know, in the era of, you know, trying to help the environment, maybe they say no hot tubs, no hair dryers, you know, line dry your clothes because I’m paying the bill. Again, that unlimited power to contract, you are literally giving those things to a landlord. And I’ve rented in a place where I had to sign the clause that says I can’t have firearms in my home. And it was a big pause moment. um it was a really big pause moment yes so so as we go down that road i imagine there there will be certain protections because we’ll have to keep on looking at these things you know so i hope we never get to that that speech issue inside there has to be something in a rental you know that that we hold dear uh you know that we’re still a human but they can start looking at high-demand devices. Can they say everybody must have a ring camera at their front door looking out? Maybe not looking in, but looking out. But yes, that camera has a microphone and can start picking things up. My concern is everybody should have a crack at owning a home, and I’m worried about the costs associated with with building tiny homes and starter homes has gone up dramatically when you’re looking at the stubbing costs of all the different utilities and things like that. And when we talk about home affordability, I’ve heard a lot of conversations about tax credits and what have you, but I never hear how do you address the costs of stubbing in the utilities? Why are streets so expensive now? Why do we need sidewalks at every place?
SPEAKER 20 :
When Karen and Lauren were in last week, Lauren had an article that said the cost, and this was an average in the metro area, $68,000 was the cost of rules and regulations. So, hey, Mike, as always, it goes way too quickly. We’re going to have more time next Wednesday, which is going to be great. I love the way that you’re really thinking about the consequences to these decisions. And so congratulations. You can keep that up. And then just very quickly, tell us about the form that you will have for the Arvada City Council candidates.
SPEAKER 10 :
Perfect. Yeah. Next Monday, we’re going to have a, uh, a forum, like you said, for the city council candidates, Grouson Valley coalition is a land use, a multi-partisan land use group. There are folks on all sides of the fence that are very concerned about this increase in density. So it’s, it’s not coming from one side, trust me. Um, but it’s easy to kind of demonize, uh, you know, a conservative way of thinking for this kind of thing, but it’s, but it’s an all sides. And, uh, We focus on land use. The format’s going to be one minute per question per candidate, and no one gets to interrupt, so it’s basically like one microphone on a table, and they pass it around. We don’t do debates. We do forums. It’s going to be at the Depot and Five Parks from 6.30 to 8.30. Doors open at 6, and if you can’t, we have a YouTube live stream as well, and that’s at ralstonvalleycoalition.org via YouTube. Hopefully, we’ll start a Rumble channel next time. And I really encourage everybody in every city to start running these these forums. And then, you know, whatever is near and dear to your heart, you focus on that. You know, I know the Chamber of Commerce run there. They’re focused on what they do. Some people might be focused on schools or homeless, but we focus on zoning and we’ve really honed in on that. So there you go.

She is one of the few people that actually read the complete Obamacare legislation. And she has connected the dots through socialized medicine, what that actually means, and has been talking about this for many, many years. Welcome, Dr. Jill Vecchio.

Thanks, as always, for having me, Kim.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and I saw a headline this last week, Jill, that it said that our health care costs have hit the highest or the health insurance costs rise at the highest level in 15 years. I thought Obamacare was supposed to make everything affordable.
SPEAKER 12 :
Right. Yeah. Well, and the problem with Obamacare was that they expected and obviously tried to force every single person to get health care that was ridiculously expensive that many people were never going to use, especially the young, healthy people. So a bunch of people said, I don’t need this. There’s no way I can afford it. Number one, a bunch of people had had insurance before. The rates were so high that. They lost their insurance, so people who had been insured lost their insurance. The people that were added to the insurance rolls were added on Medicaid. Medicaid. The Medicaid ranks in Colorado grew enormously, something like 3 million new people or something. I can’t remember what the number was. But something like one in three people in Colorado lost. After Obamacare, the service was open and everybody was being enforced, 30% of the people in Colorado were on Medicaid if they had health insurance.
SPEAKER 20 :
But this wasn’t really about helping people with their health care.
SPEAKER 12 :
No, it was about controlling the system and moving to the single-payer health care is what they wanted to do. They had to crash the system. They had to crash the system we had before, which was broken, yes. It wasn’t perfect by any stretch. It was messed up. But they messed it up even further with Obamacare. And, yeah, the system is – this isn’t sustainable where we are right now. People can’t even use their health insurance that they’re paying for.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and in Colorado, and in watching all the legislation, as the president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers – and this is a perfect time to say thank you – To my team, the team that I get to work with, and that is Steve Dorman, Greg Golianski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill, Rob Knuth, John Nelson, Wendy Warner, Marty Nielsen, Ramey Johnson, Mary Jansen, Dave Evans, Corey Onozord, Paula Beard, and Ray Beard. These are all volunteers that are watching all of this legislation. And there was a piece of legislation this… This year, Jill, that was basically, I think, going to study and put in place legislation that would study single payer health care here in Colorado. So they are not giving up on this here in Colorado. And one of the things that I learned from you early on when you were giving all of these presentations is that you said that when government gets involved, the supply becomes limited, the quality goes down and the costs go up. And we’re seeing that. And yet here in Colorado, they’re going to want to try to double down to get to that single-payer health care system. And it’s all about control. It’s not about taking care of people. It’s about control.
SPEAKER 1 :

And we’ve been talking about the different options and how you could decentralize health care. And is it okay? There’s one kind of business plan that that has a website, and they’ve been extremely popular, and it’s been around now since, I think they started before Obamacare. I think it was before Obamacare. It’s called Medibid. Have you ever heard of that? I have not, so tell me about it. Yeah, so it’s called M-E-D as in dog, I-B as in boy, I-D as in dog. Medibid, just what it sounds like. They have the website. It’s Medibid.com. And it’s fascinating. So they specialize in self-pay, cash pay patients and like a self-employed or self-insured businesses. Safeway, I think, used to use them a lot. Um, or, and there are other versions of this, but Medibid has been around for a long time and it is great to see their website. They’re working with hospitals. They’re, they’re getting bigger and bigger all the time. What happens is let’s say, let’s say I need a hip replacement. I, uh, there’s a little auction site and, uh, you say, I need a hip replacement. These are my, you fill out a little form, like these are my ongoing medical issues or whatever. and doctors and facilities from all over the country will see your request for service, like, okay, this woman needs a hip replacement, and they send you a bid, and they say, here, I can do the hip replacement. It’s all bundled, like the surgery center or hospital, whatever inpatient stuff you may need, whatever consultations you may need, if you’re at cardiology or something like that, includes anesthesiology, all this stuff. And they say, this is how much, like I can name that tune, right? It’s like, we’ll do this hip replacement for you for, you know, $10,000. And then you get to look at all of the offers and choose. You can do your own research. You can check out their evaluations. Totally transparent. And then you get to pick which doctor you want to work with. Or, and you can call the doctor, speak with the doctor. Imagine that. Speak with the doctor, discuss everything, and make your decision about who you want to use. It may mean you fly to, you know, California or something and have a surgery done, something like that. But they have it for all kinds of different procedures. Like you could probably do colonoscopy. I mean, I don’t see a whole list of all the different procedures they offer. But I imagine you could do colonoscopy or something, and your self-pay – And you get to choose your doctor. You get to pay. You get to figure all this stuff out. The doctors love it because they get paid right away. You make payment arrangements with the doctor. Imagine that. So there’s no billing and coding, no overhead. You don’t have to worry about the insurance company, whether or not they’re going to approve it. It’s perfect for anything that’s turned down by the insurance company, although they turn down everything, right? And then you have to beat them over the head before they’ll actually cover something that they should be covering right away. But it’s a great, great option.
SPEAKER 20 :
I love this. It is so creative.
SPEAKER 12 :
It’s called MediBid. MediBid. Look it up. It is very cool.
SPEAKER 20 :
But what I see is PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats, and those interested parties, they are not going to want to let this be successful, I don’t think.
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, you know, the thing is… apparently their numbers are increasing. They have something like 6,000 physicians.
SPEAKER 20 :
But don’t you see, couldn’t you see these people that want to control everything, and we have a lot of them at the state legislature, that they might put the kibosh on something as this is becoming more and more successful?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, I’m not sure. We’d have to see how they would do that, because the doctors are credentialed in every other way. They’re jumping through every other regulatory hoop. They just, uh, don’t have to jump through the third party payer hoop. And according to their website, they may be working with Medicare. That would be cool, huh? I think, see, I think we need a new, we need a new kind of a transitional or a permanent, but, um, it’d be great for it to be transitional and then eventually permanent. Um, part maybe part f for freedom in health care so part f of medicare that says uh yeah you can you can self-pay we’ll put a certain amount of money like you get a big chunk of money when you turn 65 put into an hsa only used for medical expenses and then like every quarter or something they add to that hsa just like you do from your employer right You put in a certain amount of money to the HSA. You can use that money for cash pay services, catastrophic insurance premiums, direct primary care memberships. And, you know, you can have a specialist like we’ve you know, we’ve talked one of the dilemmas is we have a direct primary care. But what if you need like a colonoscopy or cardiologist? I mean, if you had some kind of a self-pay service that the government enforced that people actually could hear about and know about, more and more physicians, you could have cardiologists, rheumatologists, kind of like chronic long-term care for patients. You know, they go to a cardiologist or a rheumatologist over and over and over again for a long period of time. Those guys could set up their own kind of membership practice, right? You can have surgeons and GI guys that do colonoscopy or something that gives a special price, and they advertise some cash price or like a bundled price. Here, come in in the hospital. Everything is going to be all on one price. It’s just going to be on one ticket. And this is how much the whole thing is going to cost. You don’t get a separate bill from the anesthesiologist in the hospital and recovery room. Right. Everybody that touched you. Right. Right. OK. It’s a brilliant model.

I love this, and I want to play a little bit of devil’s advocate when we come back because I think this makes so much sense. But what will the PBIs say about all this? It makes a lot of sense. Devil’s advocate. As I drive by these big hospitals, there’s the… healthcare industrial complex. I think there’s this hospital industrial complex. I could see them using government because big business, big government like each other to try to squash competition. And so how would you address that, Dr. Jill?
SPEAKER 12 :
Well, the interesting thing is that these physicians and providers that take cash and have an arrangement just with the patient… They’re a lot more untouchable than people depending on third party payers. So the government can’t make all these additional regulations about payment systems and stuff like that when they’re just working outside it. So I find that interesting. They’re always going to be. people that are going to try to manipulate. I mean, that’s the American system. It’s always like you make a rule, I find a way around it. You try and smash me, I move over here and do this. So I think that’s a dance that has made America great. It’s ruined some good things, but it’s also made America great. So it would be hard for me to address that in an overall overarching thing, but I think not being involved in the third-party payer movement and government payment systems, that’s the key to freedom. And as long as, like we’ve talked about over the last two months, how much influence Medicare has over the entire system, even if you’re not a Medicare patient, the rules that are put in place and the reimbursements in Medicare affect every reimbursement in health care. So there’s always control. And if you take Medicare or Medicaid patients, like what happened during COVID, if you’re a physician, if you see one Medicare or one Medicaid patient in your practice, then you are obligated to abide by anything the government tells you to do. It’s like that was with the COVID vaccines. Everybody has to be vaccinated that works here. You know, and…
SPEAKER 20 :
Are there options for not being on Medicare? My understanding is that basically you’re forced into Medicare.
SPEAKER 12 :
Yeah, because you can’t get Social Security unless you’re signed up for Medicare. So that’s another forced thing. They’re tied together. I think you’re automatically signed up. Yeah, you’re automatically signed up for Medicare Part A when you turn 65. I mean, you have to – you get signed up for that, and you can’t get your Social Security unless you’re signed up for Medicare. And that’s Part A. And then the Part B, C, and all that stuff, the supplemental and the gap insurance and the prescription drug coverage, all that kind of just flows right in front of you. So it’s really hard to – Not have Medicare. I guess you could turn down Part B, but Part A is always going to be there. And the insurance companies, even if you’ve got private insurance, they’re going to want Medicare to pay first or something. There’s always this hierarchy of this is your primary insurance. insurance provider so they we go to them first for reimbursement for something then we go to this one and then we go to some lesser insurer you know some other insurance insurer but that’s the insurance game if you’re playing but the other thing is so then you’re doing double like if i on i’m on medicare and i have a a gap insurance plan rather than supplemental and um but if i did this cash pay thing and had a surgery somewhere that Medicare would pay for, well, I’d just be paying twice because I’m paying into, you know, I already paid into Medicare and I’d be paying, you know, cash in addition to what I’ve already paid, you know. The idea is that to incorporate, you know, have Medicare, have it be an option and have Medicare fund an HSA for you, I mean, you paid into it for a long time, have it fund your HSA, and then you get to cash pay and make these decisions. And that would be a transitional way for the entire country, because once Medicare does it, then it’s going to trickle down. And if Medicare is thinking about it, that’s pretty cool.
SPEAKER 20 :
Medicare probably is not sustainable with the baby boomers coming in Medicare age. So the other question we only have… Go ahead. Well, we have two minutes left, Jill. These are solutions. You’ve been talking about them for quite some time. Are you hearing any political will to try to really address this?
SPEAKER 12 :
I’m encouraged by the website claiming that Medicare is thinking about incorporating this into some government payment systems. That would be cool if that’s true, and usually they’re not going to put it on their website. unless they’ve at least had conversations. Like I said, Bobby Kennedy Jr., this is the best chance we’ve had in a long time to come up with something that will really change health care, and it needs to start in government that’s going to be overarching. If it’s going to affect a lot of people, it needs to start at the Medicare level and then trickle down from there. But it’s really great that some wonderful solutions like these have come from the bottom up, right? So somewhere we can find a way to meet in the middle and get the most people the health care that they need at a decent price. They don’t have to be insured. We are forced. We’ve been forced to believe that you have to have insurance. You don’t have to have insurance. You just have to be able to get health care at a reasonable price that you can work out some payment arrangement with your provider. That’s what we need. We don’t have to have insurance except, well, you’d want to have it for the catastrophic stuff. Right. Otherwise, it’s like your car insurance. Right. It’s like your car insurance. You buy your own tires. You change the pay for a new windshield every other year in Colorado. You know, that’s it.
SPEAKER 20 :
Oh, I love these solutions. Dr. Jill, we will talk with you again next month. I love I love this. And it’s going to have to be from the bottom up. And I’m seeing successes of people realizing what’s going on. But the first thing is, is to understand what’s going on. And that’s why we have Dr. Jill on on a regular basis. And we are moving towards autumn. It’s hard to believe. In fact, I guess we probably are in autumn now that I think about it. I need to check that. It’s September 24th. It’s hard to believe as fast as time is going. But let’s get into it. As you know, we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. And on the show, we focus on these issues and we’ll mention the people pushing the issues, trying to stay out of all of the eighth grade girl fighting that can occur in politics. And so that’s what we do. And it’s so important that we have conversations. Our word of the day is palimpsest. P-A-L-I-M-P-S-E-S-T in its original use refers to a writing material such as parchment, which is used one or more times after earlier writing has been erased. and says many of the scholars believe the motive for making palimpsest was often economic. Reusing parchment was cheaper than preparing a new skin. And so I did this more as informative. I think this might be more difficult to use in a sentence today, but I thought it was a really interesting word as I was searching for a word of the day. Our quote of the day is from Alexander Solzhenitsyn. He was born in 1918, died in 2008. He was put in a gulag Russian prison. He was a Russian dissident. He had written something privately to another officer in World War II. He was an officer in the Red Army and he was thrown into the gulag for that. And so we need to protect freedom of speech. And I think that’s important to realize he was thrown into the gulag for his exercising his freedom of speech. So two things. I’m going to give you two quotes here. One is, he said, the simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie. One word of truth outweighs the world. And that is why we must speak truth in this battle of ideas, look for the foundational principles, and search for truth. But he also said this, and I was going to have this as the end of the show quote, and it’s a little long and we were not able to get into that, but I think this is also important. He said, “…the strength or weakness of a society depends more on the level of its spiritual life than on its level of industrialization.” Neither a market economy nor even general abundance constitutes the crowning achievement of human life. If a nation’s spiritual energies have been exhausted, it will not be saved from collapse by the most perfect government structure or by any industrial development. A tree with a rotten core is cannot stand. And in light of the murder of, assassination of Charlie Kirk, I think that we are realizing this. There seems to be a resurgence in foundational principles, Christianity, Judeo-Christian beliefs. And so this is, we are at a, the third founding of our country, a turning point for sure. And so I wanted to make sure that we had a discussion about that. I also wanted to say thank you to Laramie Energy for their gold sponsorship of the show. And so tell us what’s happening with mortgage rates, interest rates.
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, we settled back into a little bit of, you know, what I would call normalcy. When you and I talked when I was in studio last Friday that right before the Fed had spoken rates, we had a little bit of an opportunity there. I was reading just this morning about an article that was referencing it as a mini refinance boom. It lasted about a week. And that was anticipation of the Fed lowering rates. And people maybe sometimes don’t have a great understanding of what that means. But that drove the 10-year U.S. Treasury down to about 404. It’s back to about 414 now. So we have a little bit of a rate increase since the Fed cut their rates, just a reaction to inflation fears or things like that. And so rates are not as low as they were. You know, when there was that brief opportunity, but they’re still considerably lower than they have been over the last couple of years. So there’s still opportunity for a lot of folks out there.
SPEAKER 20 :
OK, and the only it doesn’t cost anything for people to give you a call to kick the tires on a possible refinance, does it?
SPEAKER 07 :
No, absolutely. And like I always promise, we will never try to push anybody into a loan that doesn’t make sense for them. We’ll do an analysis, see if it does make sense, if it saves enough money for them. And if it does, then it’s a great opportunity. I always say, why pay extra money to a bank when you can pay it in your savings or in your investments or pay something else down?
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and there’s inventory out there in the market right now in Colorado. And so talk to me a little bit about the opportunity for people that may want to buy a home, even though interest rates, I guess they’ve dipped a little bit. So what’s that opportunity look like, Lorne Levy?
SPEAKER 07 :
You know, it is a good opportunity right now as we head into the fall. Rates have gone down a little bit and significantly from their high points, you know, when they were at seven or a little bit over there. And so at the same token, we do have more inventory and we don’t have a ton of buyers out there necessarily where you’re going to run into, you know, multiple offers on a home that you like where you have to bid it up and people are just trying to overbid each other and even going over list price. That could be something that we see. If the market heats up heading into spring and rates stay lower and there’s a lot of buyers out there, right now might be the perfect time because it is a fall season where people do buy homes, but it’s not quite like the spring. And so there might be an opportunity to get the home you like at a decent rate, and you can always refinance it down the road. But rates are lower now, and then there’s better opportunity to get a payment you can handle or that you like on a home you might like.
SPEAKER 20 :
And also there might be opportunities for negotiations on the price as well, yes?
SPEAKER 07 :
Exactly, yeah. Anytime there’s more inventory, it’s better for buyers. You know, they say if rates ever go back down to 5.5, which they got to about 5.99, so they weren’t that far away, that there would be a ton of buyers coming out because they’d be willing to give up their current rates. And that could cause bidding wars on homes, but right now, You’re right. There is an opportunity for buyers to maybe get even at a better price at a lower rate and really get into a good situation that can only be made better should rates drop later.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay. I think that you’re staying in touch with your 20-something roots. That’s what I think, because that’s what I hear my 20-something daughters talk about all the time is vibe. Oh, yesterday, my 20-year-old said, oh, Dad, I’m getting that vibe. I’m like, okay, Landry.

And what was that vibe? Do you know what that was exactly?
SPEAKER 08 :
You know, I’m actually trying to remember at this moment, but this is about the word vibe. Everything’s about the vibe.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and Denver is losing the Denver vibe with all of the politics out here. But let’s jump in here. There’s so much I want to talk with you about, and I want to at least make sure that we talk about what I put in the newsletter. And And now I’m forgetting what it was exactly. Let me think about it here.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, you put in the newsletter we’re going to talk about North Dakota threatening to sue South Dakota.
SPEAKER 20 :
Right, that’s what it was. So let’s talk to me about this. This is very important.
SPEAKER 08 :
So Drew Wrigley, who quite frankly I’ve not been a fan of, and I can explain that if you’d like. It’s a longer story. Basically, he approved Bill Gates buying property in the state of North Dakota, despite it being a violation of a state statute.
SPEAKER 20 :
Regardless of that… So now, is he the governor, or who is he?
SPEAKER 08 :
He’s the attorney general.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay, okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 20 :
So he made that decision, okay.
SPEAKER 08 :
Kelly Armstrong is the current governor. He was a former congressman. And Drew Wrigley… became the Attorney General after the past Attorney General died, Wayne Stenjum. I only share that because it’s a background. He was appointed basically by Doug Burgum, who is now the Director of the Interior, Department of Interior, which is over the Bureau of Land Management. And as a potential presidential candidate, candidate, Doug Burgum, then governor of North Dakota, said, I assure you there will be a CO2 pipeline built in North Dakota. They can’t build a CO2 pipeline in North Dakota because South Dakota is in the way. South Dakota had people rule. They literally by vote took over the House and the Senate and And it was a majority. You and I talked about this a lot. The people of South Dakota did not want eminent domain as it involves CO2 pipelines, and they did not want to lose local control. And for those two reasons, there is a statewide ban on eminent domain being used for a CO2 pipeline. Without eminent domain, CO2 pipeline is not going to happen. So last week, Drew Wrigley, the attorney general for the state of North Dakota said, threatened, literally threatened, and said, well, we’re pursuing avenues of suing the state of South Dakota for their unconstitutional actions in banning CO2 pipelines. Well, they didn’t ban a CO2 pipeline. They did what the people wanted, which was maintain local control and not allow eminent domain to be used because the Supreme Court said of the state of South Dakota said that CO2 is not a common carrier, consequently does not fall under the provision of eminent domain for a common carrier. It’s all legal. And yet Drew Wrigley just throws out that they’re pursuing avenues of suing South Dakota for violating their commerce clause between states. I’ve been on record saying that he is just creating a distraction because It just seems as though the whole plan is to keep people’s eye off the ball, which at this moment it seems to me like the CO2 pipeline, as dangerous as it is, is just a distraction because they want the taxpayers to pay for the infrastructure of the CO2 pipeline, which then in turn they will turn them around and use them to get natural gas to other parts of the country because we have this plusser of natural gas in the Bakken in North Dakota. which is just flaring. We’re flaring massive amounts of natural gas, methane. And that brings me to what I was hoping you’d want to talk about, which just developed since last evening. You saw that there was a pretty massive rupture in southern Wyoming of a natural gas pipeline that people all throughout northern Colorado were seeing, did you not?
SPEAKER 20 :
I did not know that.
SPEAKER 08 :
Looks like it was a pretty major endeavor, and I bring it up because we have been laying the groundwork, we, against my will, laying the groundwork in the state of Nebraska to run pipelines from every ethanol plant in Nebraska, minus four, by the way, to the tall grass energy, which is called the Trailblazer Natural Gas Pipeline, which has been coming from Wyoming, taking natural gas to the east, And their plans are to turn that around and put CO2 in that natural gas pipeline and send that to Cheyenne and bury it under Cheyenne and what is called the Denver Formation. And they’re planning to start that CO2 flow yet in calendar year 2025. If that rupture that occurred last night with the natural gas pipeline had been a rupture of a CO2 pipeline… We’ll be talking about the people that died.
SPEAKER 20 :
So several questions. Natural gas is an affordable, reliable, efficient, and it’s abundant. And I like natural gas. And it seems like we would want to get natural gas to other places. And so that seems like that would make sense to me to do that. And so are you saying that they would, instead of having natural gas in these lines, they want to put CO2 in these lines and bring it back the other way and bury it under Cheyenne?
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s correct. That’s exactly what has been proposed and is in the process of happening.
SPEAKER 20 :
So that would mean that the places that natural gas had been going, providing that particular power, that energy source, they would not have that anymore. Is that right?
SPEAKER 08 :
That’s exactly right. It took half of the capacity of the natural gas that was being piped from Wyoming to places utilizing natural gas throughout the eastern part, anywhere east of there. And when I say half, Kim, there are two currently functioning natural gas pipelines running from Wyoming to eastern Nebraska and beyond. They’re both owned by Tallgrass. One is called the Tallgrass Pipeline, and the other one’s called the Trailblazer Pipeline. They just named them different because they’re two separate pipelines built, I believe, 20 years apart. And they’re now planning to eliminate half of that capacity and run CO2 for the purposes of burying it a mile and a half deep under earth, no value whatsoever, and eliminate, like you just said, eliminate natural gas distribution via that pipeline.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay, so the next question is, why would they do that? So I will pose what I think you’re going to say, and then you can tell me whether or not that’s correct. The reason that they would do that is because it is economically advantageous to do that with the CO2 pipeline because of tax credits. And so it’s a money thing, and it’s being encouraged by… Am I correct?
SPEAKER 08 :
You really don’t need me at all for this discussion, do you?
SPEAKER 20 :
So that’s what that’s what it’s all about. And so so because of those tax credits and and and. When we talk about government incentives all the time, that’s not the proper role of government to be providing these incentives. But then what happens is people react to incentives. And so whoever has these pipelines, they’re reacting to that because the government is offering this incentive, and it’s more economically advantageous to do that. But connecting the dots, then… The people down the road that had this reliable, efficient, affordable, and abundant energy source, which has been under regulatory attack big time, particularly here in Colorado, they’re not going to have that. So ultimately, their lives will become less affordable because they will not have affordable power. Correct? Yes.
SPEAKER 08 :
You nailed it, and right now they’re talking about 2025 is going to end up with a 35% increase in electric cost. We’re already halfway there now.
SPEAKER 20 :
Yeah, it’s a direct assault upon everyday people being able to thrive and flourish.
SPEAKER 08 :
And just one more quick thing. The difference between a subsidy that a company gets for an incentive, which I do not agree with, And the difference between that, which is just a direct payment, but it is taxable. It’s a direct payment, but taxable by the government as income. A tax credit like you walk through is simply a reduction of the tax liability of that said billionaire that’s involved in the in the creation of this. So that costs the taxpayer actually double because it’s completely different and a better advantageous position for the billionaire than just getting a subsidy.
SPEAKER 20 :
And the tax credits can be sold, correct?
SPEAKER 08 :
Correct. Absolutely. It could be sold to China. There is no stipulation saying that there’s any limit on who can purchase these tax credits.
SPEAKER 20 :
So this is not the proper role of government.
SPEAKER 08 :
And just quickly, the easement that controls the land where the pipeline is running and people who signed an easement can also be sold to anybody without limitation.
SPEAKER 20 :
Oh, this just came in from Patty. She said, this sounds just like gas versus electric cars replace what works with what will never work ubiquitously. I think she nailed it there as well.
SPEAKER 08 :
I think so, too. I don’t think either one of you need me.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, we need you because we’re learning a lot about all this and the important discussions. And then people do reach out and say that they appreciate our conversations because you and I don’t always agree on everything. We were talking about these natural gas pipelines, that there is a company that is going to reduce half of their capacity of natural gas to convert that to bringing back CO2 back to, I guess, the Cheyenne area. And Mary had this great question. She says, why don’t they just bury it where they collect it if they want to bury it? Why do they have to pipe it? So what’s your answer to that, Trent Luce?
SPEAKER 08 :
ADM in Decatur, Illinois, has been doing that for four years, only they’re not doing it right now because as of, I believe it was May of this year, the seismic activity right around where they were putting that was becoming too great. So why bury it where it’s going to harm you? Let’s truck it 1,000 miles in a pipeline and put it where it’s not going to harm you.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay. Next question.
SPEAKER 08 :
In all fairness, there is one ethanol plant in North Dakota, Red Trail Energy, owned by GEVO out of Denver, by the way, that is currently burying CO2 at their location, and they’re getting paid to do that tax credits.
SPEAKER 20 :
So we’ve got to get rid of these tax credits across the board. This is not the proper role of government. It’s another reason why we have so much debt in our country, and we’ve got to get that turned around. I had asked you about this, and I don’t think that we had talked about it. When I was back in Kansas… went to church and the coffee after church, people were talking about a new pipeline that was from an ethanol plant in Kansas to DIA. I guess maybe we did talk a little bit about this. Do you have any new updates on that? Yeah, we did talk about it.
SPEAKER 08 :
No, I have not pursued that, but that is for sustainable aviation fuel that’s to be coming. And that technology is not even close to being available. I mean, we are producing sustainable aviation fuel at, I believe, four locations today. The latest one is in Georgia. And that was the one thing about the big, ugly bill that actually made sense, even though I don’t completely agree with it. There were companies from other countries, including China and Brazil, that were getting tax credits for supplying feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel. And case in point, there’s a sustainable aviation fuel plant in Los Angeles that was getting restaurant grease from China, and China was getting tax credits. And there’s a sustainable aviation fuel plant in Georgia was just built a year and a half ago, and the first ethanol that came to that plant was from Brazil, who were getting tax credits. So the big ugly bill actually eliminated the ability for foreign countries to get tax credits. How ingenious is that?
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, gosh, and how was that restaurant grease getting from China to Los Angeles? Probably on a diesel-powered ship.
SPEAKER 15 :
Not in a pipeline.
SPEAKER 20 :
Yeah, a diesel-powered ship.
SPEAKER 08 :
It was a diesel-powered ship.
SPEAKER 12 :
Oh, man.
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, good for them. And you heard it here that actually Trent Luce said that there was something that he thought was good about the –
SPEAKER 08 :
Yeah, except I said I didn’t totally agree with it because we’re still giving tax credits, which I don’t agree with. But at least we got rid of the foreign countries getting tax credits.
SPEAKER 20 :
Yes, that is a step in the right direction. So let’s change the subject. You sent something over to me regarding in Canada about government destroying someone’s livelihood. And I watched the video. I didn’t understand. What is going on? What is happening? So set this up for us, Trent.
SPEAKER 08 :
Have we not talked about the ostrich farm in Canada this year at all?
SPEAKER 20 :
I don’t think we have.
SPEAKER 08 :
Wow. One of the owners, Katie, I’ve had on probably 12 different broadcasts this year. In December, this ostrich farm, which is called Universal Ostrich Farm in British Columbia, had two animals. There was a few died, like 20 died out of 400. They had two they tested with a PCR test. No higher standard test, no ELISA test, nothing else was ever done. And they tested positive for H5N1. So immediately, like governments do, they issued a euthanasia for this flock of 400 ostriches. This is not just an ostrich farm that’s been producing meat and selling meat, and I don’t know that that matters, but I just wanted to set the tone to why this is such a grave blight on the future of humanity. They determined four years ago that these ostriches and their eggs created antibodies that were much more powerful even than chickens and antibiotic creation. Because back in the day when we actually built vaccines like we suppose it’s supposed to do, we’d use antibodies and build vaccines from exposing chickens to low levels and creating antibodies, putting them in the eggs. And that’s just how it’s worked from the beginning of time. They determined that these ostriches had the ability to create a massive amount of antibodies, so they have been storing antibodies in a data bank. Not a data bank, a literal bank, so that they could be used at any point in time. In fact, they’ve created antibodies for COVID. They’ve created antibodies for H5N1. And just think about the concept. If there was a positive, which I’m not agreeing to because they never did anything other than a PCR test. If there was a positive… And they have been now 200 and I believe it’s 54 days without a symptom at all within these ostriches. The ostriches that lived are the ostriches that have the immunity that we should want to replicate throughout the entire bird population. But the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a euthanasia. The family filed for an appeal. They lost their first appeal, which was about March. They then filed for a stay that they had a chance to have another appeal, but the Canadian Food Inspection Agency would not come in and euthanize these 400 ostriches. They actually got their stay, and then they went to Ottawa. I’m going to say that was probably July. They went to Ottawa, the nation’s capital of Canada. and they had another hearing they lost that and so the coal order remained intact and canadian food inspection agency showed up this week monday morning and they came and seized the property that all of this can be verified and i think the video that you watch is actually what would be equivalent to a state legislator Jordan Keeley, who’s going to be joining me tomorrow morning live on the air, by the way, on Across the Pond with an update on this because he was at the site this week. But yesterday morning, they literally arrested Katie and her mother, Karen, and her father was not arrested because he’s a paraplegic, a quadriplegic, and they had to take him to a care home, but they literally took them off site and Meanwhile, there is, last report I had, more than 150 people there trying to create a human fence, trying to block roads, trying to do whatever they can to prevent the Canadian government from killing these ostriches, which they supposedly are doing at this moment. I haven’t gotten any reports this morning because I’ve been busy, but the public support has absolutely been incredible, and this is going to play out really today.
SPEAKER 20 :
So government is seizing their property under the guise of trying to supposedly protect people from the bird flu. And as Susan continues to remind us, is why would you… kill the healthy birds that have the antibodies to fight the bird flu. And I think I heard you say that they had 20 birds that, when did those birds die?
SPEAKER 08 :
January. January. Correct.
SPEAKER 20 :
And here we are. Now, you mentioned that they had antibodies. How is it that those birds died if, in fact, they had these antibodies there? So explain that to me.
SPEAKER 08 :
Well, I mean, some birds are going to be susceptible to it. They didn’t vaccinate anything, if that’s what you’re asking me. They were just building this bank of antibodies. And once they had the H5N1 come through, then the birds were exposed to it. And that’s when they can ramp up their collection of the antibodies and have them on storage. So they literally have a flock of ostriches that could create the solution to H5N1 around the world. And instead of embracing that, they’re going to eliminate the animals that survived H5N1.
SPEAKER 20 :
Goodness. And basically take away these people’s livelihoods. Forty years.
SPEAKER 08 :
Some of these ostriches are 37 years old. Why did they arrest?
SPEAKER 20 :
Was it Katie and her mother?
SPEAKER 08 :
Katie and her mother, Karen. Because Katie has been tremendous. One reason I’ve had her on the air so many times is she’s been tremendous at generating public sentiment, and she was broadcasting live. Every time there was a discussion with an agent on site, she’s streaming it. You can keep track of what’s going on. They simply got her out of her way because she continues to generate public sentiment, bringing awareness to what these people are doing. They’re destroying the future of humanity.

So that dot that you’re connecting is she was arrested because she was using her freedom of speech?
SPEAKER 08 :
Correct, 100%.

Guess where the biggest percentage of autism, like six, seven hundred percent compared to other areas are North America, Canada and the European nations and a small part Canada. down to way in the South American corner. All the highest rates of autism compared to the rest of the world. Now, that’s no accident. That is no accident. And why does all this tie in with things like ostriches? Well, it is all tied together, and it’s about crippling the food supply so that people are vulnerable. Just this morning, I learned that there is a sheeppox that has been ravaging, according to the Greece government in Greece, and they’ve now euthanized 260,000 sheep and goats in Greece based upon a disease that they claim must be euthanized, and they’re euthanizing all of these animals. 260,000 in the last 12 months, just in one country.
SPEAKER 20 :
Oh boy. And oh boy. Okay. Thank you. And Jemay is on the line. Jemay, what is on your radar?
SPEAKER 11 :
Can you hear me? All right. We gotcha. Okay. Okay. Trent, I’ll try to be quick, but I mean, some of the things you say kind of get my attention and get my blood boiling a little bit. But the thing about the the natural gas lines being, you know, disabled to use CO2 or whatever it was. I mean, we have 90 pivots around that yard, that big yard in Nebraska. And we have one person designated all day, every day. I think we pay him 15, 20 bucks an hour to take propane and or diesel out to all those irrigation wells. And then you tell me what they’re doing with these lines. I thought there was some hope maybe we could get natural gas. Here in eastern Colorado… Our wells are a fourth of what those wells are. You know, 300 or 400-gallon wells out here, pretty decent well. Up there, it’s 1,200, 1,500, the heart of the Ogallala Aquifer, and we have no natural gas in any part of that country. And I guess it just chaps me that when I hear some of the stuff you’re saying, man.
SPEAKER 20 :
Okay, and that’s Jim May. I didn’t hear that correctly. Sorry about that, Jim. You’re not Jim May. You’re Jim May. So your comments on that, Trent Luce?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, Jim’s absolutely right. Everybody should be asking a question at the time when we need more natural gas, and natural gas should be responsible for more of our electric generation, more of the power that we’re using. Why are we displacing half of the tall grass prairie, the trailblazer pipeline? with co2 to bury it not even to generate a use to bury it and we’re displacing 50 percent of the natural gas running through that system everybody needs to ask that question jim so thank you jim may okay go ahead jim go ahead jim i just wondered co2 is something that occurs all over nature all the time what is the value of sticking it in the ground and storing it anyway
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, and to your point, Jim, CO2 is nature’s fertilizer. And so why would we bury nature’s fertilizer unless we are wanting to affect our food source? Right, Trent?
SPEAKER 08 :
No, 100%. There is no other reason to cripple the food production system.
SPEAKER 20 :
And then what that means is people will go hungry. And so we have taken for granted, for example, Jim May, ranchers, farmers that have been providing these food sources. They’ve been abundant and they’ve been affordable when we’ve gone to our… The grocery store. And what I’m seeing, though, is people are paying attention. People are starting to organize. We’ve had some successes. And with that trend, you and I both had Wendy Volk on the show. She is a realtor in Cheyenne. who, she just looked at, she looked and she did the research. And that’s one of the things, though, is James Madison said that if the laws are made by men that we elect, but if they’re so voluminous that we can’t understand them, then it’s to no avail. And so we’re seeing all these different proposals that are hundreds of pages long. But Wendy took the time to understand it, ask intelligent questions, let other people know about it. They had a conversation and then they were able to go to their county commissioners with in reasonable voices, having a conversation. and issuing or you know giving them their their concerns and the county commissioners voted to deny the permit we’re having some successes you’ve said this trent that we need to be involved at the local level i’m seeing more and more people do so trent we’ve got a couple of minutes left how would you like to finish this up today well i need to get more information about what’s happening in platte county of wyoming the neighboring county to the north of um
SPEAKER 08 :
Laramie County. We had that success story last week, which, by the way, it will then go to the state, and the state industrial commission will try to override the local. I’ve experienced this time and time again. But, Kim, I’m getting this phone call every day, and yesterday the call came from the state of Maryland. A farmer was concerned that they’re going to take the neighboring farm and cover it up with solar panels. And I just remind everybody, this is after the August 19th statement by Brooke Rawlins, Secretary of Agriculture, saying effectively, immediately, we will not take any more farmland for wind and solar. And we do it every day.
SPEAKER 20 :
You know, and, boy, that raises a question. Here we don’t have enough time because I was thinking about this, is that we’re seeing the state governments that are approving this. So I’m going to make a note. We’re going to talk about that next week on does the federal government have any jurisdiction over what these state governments are doing.
SPEAKER 08 :
The federal government is enabling the tax credits. It’s the IRS and the federal government making it happen.
SPEAKER 20 :
