And as you know, we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. And it’s never compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff. whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, their childhoods, or lives via force. And force can obviously be a weapon, but we see it with policy, unpredictable in excess of taxation, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the agenda of the World Economic Forum played out by the globalist elites, but also with the United Nations and this Colorado state legislature, this Colorado governor, and we’re seeing it play out also with a lot of this density stuff happening at local government that is really the agenda of the world economic forum is to limit land where people can thrive and prosper and put us into denser and denser areas on top of each other which makes it more difficult for people to thrive and flourish so it is an agenda and people are fighting back on that many of my colleagues out in lakewood are fighting back on that and what what happened with lakewood is the city council’s not representing the people but representing an agenda and special interests so karen gorday will talk with her on thursday morning great sponsor of the show she’s an entrepreneur and owner of radiant painting and lighting she’s decided to run for city council in lakewood But they want to do a referendum on all of these different zoning density things in Lakewood. And so what this city did is they took that and they broke into four parts the things that people were concerned about that they were going to run a referendum on. and then they heard them at four different city council meetings so what that did is it will make it more difficult for people to get petitions for four issues instead of one and then the timing on it to get approved by the the city to be able to run the petitions and uh really it’s shutting down people’s voices we have an illusion of representative government right now we have an illusion that our votes matter. And we need to push back on that illusion and reclaim our voices. Same thing happened in Littleton. And we’ll talk with Joe Whitney, rooted in Littleton on Thursday as well, regarding the communities came together and they said, wait a minute, we want our voices to be heard. We don’t want our neighborhoods to be changing like this, our communities. And so they have an issue on the ballot and would highly recommend that people check that out on the Littleton ballot as well. So these elections are so important. People are paying attention. And as we realize, when the bulldozers show up, it’s too late. And there is this big project down in Douglas County regarding a sports complex. And I love kids playing sports. I love kids getting off of electronic devices. And I’m still learning about this particular issue. But I did go to the hearing last week with the Douglas County commissioners, and I have to say I was shocked that not all voices were heard at this hearing. I think that’s what a hearing is supposed to be, is to hear all these voices. And so it does happen from both sides of the aisle. Shutting down voices, and we need to shed light on that. And I will continue to do that. I will continue to search for truth and clarity on all of these issues. But we’re seeing this agenda of the World Economic Forum playing out at the local level right now. So these city council races and mayor races are so important. And what I recommend in my voter’s guide is that you reach out to your county clerk or in the case of your cities, and you could also reach out to your city clerk and get the contact information for each of the candidates and call them and ask them, where do they stand? on density. Where do they stand on protecting our neighborhoods? Where do they stand on making sure that all voices are heard? And so on my voter’s guide, I did include all 64 counties and our county clerks and their numbers or the county clerk’s numbers. So those are there as a reference. Also regarding what’s on these local ballots, Colorado Municipal League had a pretty comprehensive list of things. For example, Fort Collins, some of the stuff they’re asking for voters, it’s just astonishing and not in a good way. So there’s that reference there as well. And then on the voter’s guide, I did take positions of no. on both of the statewide issues, which is, and this is air quotes, healthy school meals for all children. And yes, maybe there might be some meals for children, but children are already, we have a federal national lunch program. And so this is really new bureaucracies, new bureaucrats that and these bureaucracies are unelected and unaccountable to the people. And so the answer should be no on that. Those issues are also rooted in envy where it’s taxing people. partially and not impartially and in the vision of the declaration we are all to be treated equally under the law so that means we should be taxed equally under the law meaning we don’t have taxes for some people and not for others and when we have taxes that are proposed for one group of people the other group of people will vote for that And that is, it’s not fair. And so both Proposition LL, which what LL is, is the state collected more money than they said they would in a 2022 proposition. And so they’re asking if they can keep all that money. And when our young people are told, oh, it’s corporations, businesses that are so greedy, the businessman is actually, what about government? That’s the greediest. And government has the ability, they have force that they can take money from people, where corporations, unless they’re cronying up with government, they have to compete in the free market, which is called capitalism. So do check out my voter’s guide. The other thing I will mention is these tax increases such as what Denver is asking in five different measures for just under a billion dollars in new debt. But to pay that off will be probably Double that at least. And the answer should be no on that. And it’s so disingenuous because let me get the ballot question here right here. And that’s one of the things I have in the voters guide is the actual ballot language and any links to anything that needs to be on there. And for example, it says without imposing any new tax. and that’s issued to a transportation and mobility but what they are asking to for is to extend a tax that would go away and if that tax went away your property taxes would go down in denver so the answer should be no on that as well and then on my ballot i have a question by south metro fire and of course we all really want the fire truck to show up if we have a fire But I think there’s plenty of money as I’ve gone by and seen many of these new fire buildings, some of them all brick. I’m thinking there’s quite a bit of money that is floating around there. So this question for South Metro Fire District is to increase taxes $50 million. each year. And people can have a debate about that. But what my no on that is because at the end, it’s asking to de-tabor or de-bruce all of that revenue, meaning that if they collect excess revenue, instead of returning that back to the taxpayer, the people they took it from, they want to keep it all. And when we see that, and that’s been going on for quite some time with many of these ballot questions, and so the answer should be no. Until these entities start to say, we’re asking for this and we’re going to stay within that frame, but if they’re asking to keep all the excess revenue, the answer should be no. And as you know, we are truly an independent voice. I’m an independent voice. I purchased my airtime. And that’s why I totally have total freedom in guest selection and conversations that we have. It could be a question or inquiry, a doubt in the mind, a mental reservation, or number three, a notation, usually a question mark, calling attention to an item in order to question its validity or accuracy. And so a question inquiry, we need to query our elected representatives. We need to refer to them as elected representatives, not elected officials. That puts in their mind and our minds that they are officials over our lives. They are not. They are representatives. And we need to talk with them about. bringing back to the elected representative the decisions making that’s been abdicated out by Congress to PBIs or to bureaucrats, administrative states, same at the local, county, and state level. And so we are at a time, when I say that we’re at a time in history, we truly, truly are. So we need to query our elected representatives. We need to query our candidates to find out where they stand. And we have a duty to do so. And I know a number of you have reached out to me regarding candidates for Douglas County School Board. And they’re the common sense candidates. And I would recommend Keaton Gamble, Dede Kramer, Matt Smith and Steve Vail. And again, these are such important races. And so be sure and check and check that out. Let’s see, next thing, our quote of the day is from G.K. Chesterton. And I chose him because in church on Sunday, the pastor had a great quote from G.K. Chesterton about our children. But he said this, and G.K. Chesterton was born in 1874. He died in 1936. He was an English author, philosopher, Christian apologist, which what that means is a defender of the Christian faith, poet, journalist, magazine editor, and literary and art critic. And says Chesterton’s wit, paradoxical style, and defensive tradition made him a dominant figure in early 20th century literature. And he said this, the problem of disbelieving in god is not that a man ends up believing nothing alas it’s much worse he ends up believing anything and many of the people that are involved in these no kings protests i think might fall into that that category that they end up believing anything and And there have been those that have said, Kim, why don’t you do a point-counterpoint on the show? And I think that when we… I may start something at some point in time here soon that we might do that. But I said on the show, what we want to do is to search for truth and clarity on these issues. The other side… They get so much information and they don’t see the other side. That was the beauty of Charlie Kirk is he wanted to have a conversation. And that’s what we’ve been wanting to do and we strive to do on the show on a regular basis as well. And so we need to have a conversation. But so many of these people are just believing this narrative of that Trump wants to be a king. Although I reported last week from one of the news articles that a actress who was I think she was the actress in Dr. No, I can’t remember her name now. But she put on X, she said, hey, I had TDS, Trump derangement syndrome. But after he brokered the deal of peace with Israel and Hamas, and she saw on the beach, somebody had put on the beach in Tel Aviv, thank you. She changed her mind. So that’s why we have to hear all the stories. But this is really important. I referenced it yesterday, but wanted to give you a little bit more information on this from the Western Journal regarding George Soros’ involvement in the nationwide No Kings protest uncovered. Well, I was headed up to… Loveland on Saturday, which was the No Kings Day, over one of the overpasses, there was a No Kings protest. And I saw an American flag. And I thought, do they not understand that the goal of the radical activists is to take America down? and that we would all be controlled by a group of elites, which we were headed that way with the Obama-Harris administration, or Biden-Harris administrations. And we want to unite, but we want to unite around this idea of the vision of our declaration, that we are all created equal and we have these rights. from God of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. And if we can unite around that, which Jefferson and Hamilton looked at things differently. They looked at government differently, but ultimately they both believed in liberty, the responsible exercise of freedom. if somebody wants to destroy our country there’s not going to be much that we can do to unify with them so we must work to persuade them and persuade people about this american idea but soros wants to take america down so this group indivisible which there’s uh groups in almost every county in the country uh is really uh i think there may be people that may be well-meaning But they are believing anything, going back to G.K. Chesterton’s quote. But this is from, I think this is from Fox News. Let me just make sure on that. Hold on here. I like to give the source. No, I’m sorry. I said this earlier. It’s the Western Journal. And it says, you’ve probably heard about Saturday’s No Kings protests. And it went on to say, but why is it getting such fevered coverage and such fervency of support? A surprise, it’s the dollars of George Soros being sprinkled over some astroturf again. It says, according to Fox News, the group that’s behind this Indivisible, founded by Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, is being funded in large part by Soros’ Open Society Action Fund. The group was given a $3 million grant in 2023, purportedly to support the grantee’s social welfare activities. says there’s some irony there in as much as Indivisible was one of the groups that wanted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer thrown overboard from Democrat leadership after he didn’t shut down the government earlier this year. Levin in particular said Schumer had done a great deal of damage to the party, particularly by not shutting Washington down. He added in a March 15 statement that Schumer was leading the charge to wave the white flag of surrender. It said the passage of this dangerous Republican funding bill is a travesty. The ongoing administrative coup led by Donald Trump and Elon Musk is a constitutional crisis. When we were talking with Brad Beck yesterday, this radical activist left, they used the language that people want to hear. Levin is referencing the Constitution, but they want to walk all over the Constitution. And so these people, the people in the protests, some of them may be well-meaning, but they are being used as pawns. And the ultimate goal is to take down America. And so that is, and this is another thing, it says Indivisible is managing data and communications with participants for the No Kings protests that will be taking place in Washington and across the country. And so it’s important that we continue to speak truth into what is happening on all of these particular issues. And we do this because of our sponsors. Yeah. So, you know, whenever we’re thinking about energy, it’s really just a science. So, you know, especially when people say vibes, vibes are just everyday language for energy frequencies. So everything, whether you, me, you know, your car, your phone, all of these things emit measurable vibrations. And science can capture these tools with spectroscopy. And just as you mentioned, with the time change coming up, with the weather changing, there are so many ways to notice whether your energy is off.

So what what do we need to do about that?
SPEAKER 17 :
Sure. So, yeah, some of the ways to notice if your energy is off is you might feel like that you’re drained no matter how much you’re sleeping or how much you’re resting. You might be getting sick more often or feeling under the weather or you might be noticing mood swings that you can’t explain. And honestly, there are so many ways that throw there’s so many things that throw off our energy. every single day, like if we have ongoing stress, if we’re not sleeping enough, if we’re looking at our screen for too long, if we’re staying indoors for too long, or even if we’re surrounding ourselves with negative people. So there’s so many things that can throw our energy out of sync. The good thing is that there’s so many simple habits that we can incorporate into our daily life that cost nothing, that can retune our body’s energy. The first one is movement. So this could be stretching, yoga, or even just energy. The second one is slow deep breathing. This can really reset our nervous system. The great thing with this is that it doesn’t need to be some complex meditation setup. It doesn’t need to be four hours to really get the impact. It could be when you’re stopped at a red light and you have those few moments or you’re waiting to check out at the grocery store. And you use those few mindful moments to breathe in deeply, hold it for a few seconds, and then release it. And that can actually very much help your nervous system. And another thing is sunlight exposure. I know with the time change, we’re going to have a bit less of sunlight coming up soon. But any sort of exposure to sunlight has been shown to recharge your body’s natural rhythms. what about so you’re an interactive pharmacist what is integrative yes excuse me an integrative pharmacist what what is that exactly dr swathi yeah an integrative pharmacist is really thinking about each patient from a personalized perspective so and also integrative really means the integration of other modalities or healing methods So a lot of what I do is I work with patients in a way that I am looking at what prescription medicines they’re taking and what they’re currently dealing with in their life. Do they want to improve their sleep quality? Do they want to be more focused at work? And I try to help them with strategies beyond prescription medications that also work together. in synergy with the prescription medication. So this could be recommendations of herbal medicines, of supplements, of movement strategies, sleep hygiene, and also mindfulness techniques. So to me, it’s all about more of the and rather than the or. If patients are taking prescription medications, what else can we add from an integrative perspective and a personalized lens that can help patients?
SPEAKER 04 :
So, Dr. Swathi, we talk a lot about big pharma, and people look to maybe taking a pill, taking a medication for an issue that they have. What about trying to get off of these prescriptions? I think people feel like they become dependent on them. Is that something that you look at with your patients?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, so that does happen sometimes. We always need to weigh the risk versus the benefit. If a patient is getting great benefit from a medication, I oftentimes do not recommend that they get off the medication because it is serving them for that particular, let’s say, indication or therapeutic use or that condition. So it’s really very patient specific. Sometimes there are people who come to me and say, I would prefer to not be on this medication because there are so many side effects associated with it. So in that particular context, risk is almost outweighing the benefit. The drug might be working for them, but all the other side effects are actually getting in the way of their quality of life. And that’s when we can start looking at alternatives that might be a better option. But It very much depends on what the patient is interested in.
SPEAKER 04 :
So you are a pharmacist, but it sounds like you’re really helping people with health care. So do people also have a doctor that you are integrating with, or what does that look like, Dr. Swathi?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah. So, I mean, at the end of the day, pharmacists are health care providers. And so they do work in retail settings. But a lot of pharmacists do work in hospitals. They work in clinic settings. And so they are, depending on what sort of role they have, they have a different level of communication and direct interaction with patients there. And so with what I do, I can work with patients one-on-one, whether that’s in a clinic setting or in telehealth, but I also can work collaboratively or on an interdisciplinary team with physicians or with other providers like acupuncturists or naturopathic physicians or nurse practitioners so that we can all collaboratively work to help the patient with our different specialties.
SPEAKER 04 :
So do you help people just in your geographical area or do you work with people throughout the country? And where are you located exactly?
SPEAKER 17 :
So I’m located in Florida. And so as of now, I don’t see that many patients anymore. And I do a bit more of strategy and consulting for helping supplement brands with their evidence based, you know, doing clinical trials or, you making products that are actually effective so I don’t do as much patient care as I as I used to but I can definitely people are interested in learning more particularly about how energy is incorporated into all of this I have some resources or people that I can recommend absolutely okay and how can people reach you So if they want to learn more about energy-based healing or frequency-first health, I would recommend that they go to greenspaceherbs.com. Okay, so energy, for example, you mentioned sleep. And there’s this, people, they say you should get eight hours of sleep a night. I don’t. And Donald Trump, they say that he doesn’t get eight hours of sleep. I was having this conversation with somebody yesterday, they said that Martha Stewart,
SPEAKER 17 :
operates on four hours asleep I can’t do that I can operate on six hours asleep talk to me about sleep and how that can be different for people yeah so sleep very much impacts energy and so at the end of the day the average of eight is what is recommended by a lot of the large kind of sleep organizations but it’s really more than eight is really the average and so People can function on lower amounts of sleep, like six or seven hours of sleep or even up to nine hours of sleep. It really just depends on the person. And oftentimes you kind of have to test that out for yourself. I know people who do very well on seven hours or six hours per night. It’s more of just keeping that consistency and ensuring that you have really good sleep hygiene when you’re going to bed. So making sure you haven’t looked at a screen for hours. You know, at least about an hour, making sure that all of the lights are turned off. There are so many other things that we can talk about with sleep hygiene. But sleep is really key for affecting energy because that is the downtime, in other words, because sleep. That’s really when our brain and our body can actually restore, repair and recalibrate. And so the recommendation is seven to nine hours. But of course, if that’s not possible or if you find that you don’t need as much sleep, then that’s also great for you, too. That’s another element of the personalization of medicine that I talk about is that just because that’s the average or the recommendation doesn’t necessarily mean that that’s going to be the best fit for you.
SPEAKER 04 :
Then what about naps? What’s your thoughts on naps?
SPEAKER 17 :
So I would say naps are great, particularly if you didn’t feel like you got an effective amount of sleep throughout the night. So let’s say something happened overnight and you weren’t able to get your full hours that you generally look for. That’s where a nap can play a great role. I don’t think naps are required for most people because I think naps should be used as that sort of mechanism as like, oh, I didn’t get enough sleep. Maybe I can make up some of my sleep there for now. Very particular that we’re trying to hit a certain amount of time because you don’t want a nap to turn into, you know, a two or three hour sleep of multiple cycles. Generally, 20 minute naps is what’s been researched to actually be effective for, you know, revitalizing. And then you wake up refreshed versus feeling groggy.

She is an integrative pharmacist. We’re talking about energy. And Dr. Swathi, what about attitude regarding energy? And I ask that because… This last weekend, I took some items in for repair, and the gentleman that was helping me was just very helpful and just a good conversation assessing what should be done with each piece that I had brought in. And I asked him if he would do one other thing, and he said, you know what, I’m going to go ahead and just do that for free. He said, because you’re the first nice person ever. that I met today. And I thought, that’s a sad state of affairs that we’re at in our country. If that’s the kind of energy that we are putting out is that people are not being nice to each other. What do you think about that?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, I think there is something to that because as we were mentioning in the beginning, you know, energy really is a science. And, you know, while vibrational, while, you know, we talk about vibrations and talk about energies, there actually is, you know, a measurable biophysical phenomena tied to attitudes and emotions. And so, yeah. This actually very much makes sense to me because, you know, when people are when you’re around other people, you can kind of pick up the energy that they have. And so if that is in this particular context, if he was making he if he was feeling like the energy that you were kind of conveying was making him feel better, then he was inclined to, you know, behave differently. in this sort of generous way. And so while there is, you know, so much science around this, it really sometimes is about just about, you know, how you feel and how you’re making other people feel.
SPEAKER 04 :
and so every day it’s important to be in tune to this energy but we will have days where things come at us and i was talking with someone the other day they said i was having a really rough day the other day because of of things that were happening out probably outside their control so how do you address that uh dr swathi
SPEAKER 17 :
Yeah, I mean, that is just a part of daily life where there are so many aspects of our day to day or things that are happening that are out of our control. But what is in our control is the way that we react to them. And so especially if you’re going through something or if you’re having a bit of a difficult day or you keep getting red light over red light over red light and you’re on the way to work and you’re about to be late, I definitely know the feeling. You know, there are so many of these strategies that I talked about that can be helpful because sometimes we can get caught up in the moment and not really think about the big picture and the fact that, okay, yes, I might be late today, but I can take some of these moments at these red lights to take a deep, slow breath. And while that slow breathing in the moment might seem like, oh boy, is this really what I should be doing? That deep, slow breathing can actually help to reset your nervous system, especially if you do a few breaths at back to back, you hold it in between, and then you release that can, that can very much help. And this actually comes back to principles from Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a an age-old methodology of medicine originating in India that focuses on herbs, diet, and lifestyle to balance the body. And this new discussion of energy is actually around this emerging field called quantum Ayurveda. So it’s taking a lot of these initial principles from Ayurveda, but then actually putting a modern twist on them and incorporating the discussion of energy frequencies into So I definitely know the feeling and there is, but there just are so many potential strategies that we can use throughout the day that can make everything seem not as arduous.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, and I think George Washington, of course, we’ve heard this many times, but it seemed like he had a quote regarding our attitude. And we can change our attitude, which would affect our energy. Yes, Dr. Swathi?
SPEAKER 17 :
Yes, absolutely. I mean, as we’re changing the way that we feel, that actually does influence, of course, our brainwaves and the way that we are feeling about ourselves has been emanated to others. So, absolutely.
SPEAKER 04 :

Like, for example, if you’ve heard of ashwagandha, ashwagandha has been researched and used for thousands of years for stress. and for sleep. to improve sleep quality and decrease overall chronic stress. And I think that really will start to help.

And I have a query regarding two different people have reached out to me and said that this is the first time this has happened to them, that they live in one county where they get their ballot, they’re registered to vote, they have property in another county, And they got a ballot from that county as well. I also know that people are receiving ballots that have not voted in many, many years here in Colorado. And what that means is our voter rolls are clearly inflated. And that’s why these lawsuits that you all helped fund are so important. And that’s in the back and forth right now in what happens in law. But we need to query what’s going on and we need to find out how much does it cost to print a ballot? And I guess it depends on how many questions are on the ballot to send that out. Just think of the amount of money that we are spending because these voter rolls are inflated. And so we need to query that. Our quote of the day is from G.K. Chesterton. He was born in 1874, died in 1936. He was an English author, philosopher, Christian apologist. And what that means is a defender of the Christian faith, a poet, journalist and magazine editor, editor. and a literary and art critic. And his wit, his style, defensive tradition made him a dominant figure in the early 20th century literature. And he said this, he said, the problem of disbelieving in God is not that a man ends up believing nothing. Alas, it is much worse. He ends up believing anything. And I think with this post-modernism time that we have been going through, I think that people realize this, believing in anything, you have your truth, I have my truth. No, there is real foundational truth, and that is what we search for on the show on a regular basis. We search for truth and clarity, and it’s easy by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. They’ve been involved in something. Hopefully, you know, it hadn’t happened in the past, so it’s a first time. So we really spend time just talking about the process, what’s going to happen. in general, the timing. Timing’s a little bit different on everybody’s case and dependent on the type of case. So it’s really an opportunity to educate whomever is in front of me about what they’re facing and what they can do to help themselves and what they can do to help us get justice for them, get compensation for them.

So, John Bozen, if it’s determined by you or your team that it is a fit, that it is a case that you are going to take on, does the clock start ticking then on attorney’s fees?
SPEAKER 07 :
No. No, everything that we do is on a contingency fee basis, which means there is no obligation, no payment of any attorney’s fees whatsoever. Nothing for the person I’m visiting with or the family that I’m visiting with until we are successful, until we have made a recovery, nothing is owed.

And there’s a lot of folks out there, a lot of firms, that won’t take that time and effort because it’s a huge increase in the volume of work, the time, the mental expense, everything that an attorney has to do to file a lawsuit and take those initial steps and to follow through and go to trial. And many firms are just not willing to do that. But to do what you have to for your client as an attorney in the personal injury field You have to not only be willing, but you have to go to trial. And you have to be successful when you go to trial. Insurance companies, big companies, everybody tracks that. They know who the firms are that don’t allow or won’t let or don’t want to go to trial. He’s a noted commentator, columnist, economist, and libertarian and He arrived in America from West Germany at the age of two with his parents and older brother. His parents were the only members of their respective families to survive the Holocaust in Poland. And they moved to the Lower East Side in Manhattan. He went to school in the Bronx. He graduated. He went on to become a professor of finance at Anisfield School of Business of Ramapo College in New Jersey. And he has a new book out. Dr. Murray Sabrin, welcome to the show.

Great to be with you, Kim.

And the subject for us to begin with is how can Americans, how can we make Americans financially independent? And I know this is something that you have thought about for years.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, that’s why I’m doing what I’m doing now, which is writing on Substack at murryshabrin.substack.com. And I’m creating the MAPI movement, Make Americans Financially Independent. And that means having a constitutional budget. And here’s the real kicker, Kim. I want to give every American who pays income taxes a 20% to 40%. raise and that means abolishing the income taxes and payroll taxes and that would allow people to keep their own money as thompson jefferson said in his first inaugural address in 1801 and that’s that’s what he said is good government letting people keep the fruits of their labor so they can use their money that they earn to fulfill their values their peaceful values with their family, with their community, with their religious institutions and have a genuinely free society. That’s why I wrote my first book that was published in 1995, which is a roadmap to creating a tax free America. And my worst fears have come true because we have spending that’s out of control. One of the good things that Trump has done is, of course, versus lowered tax rates and started the deregulation process, which began under Jimmy Carter in the late 70s. Most people don’t give Jimmy Carter credit for instituting, implementing a major deregulation policy, which really helped the economy boom in the 80s and 90s. So I’ve been following the economy since the 1970s, Kim, writing about it, speaking about it, teaching about it as a finance professor and especially my course on financial history in the United States. And there are storm clouds gathering. And in my lectures, I’ve talked about these things. And that’s why I believe that if we don’t have a major change in policy, which I advocate by creating a constitutional federal budget, we are going to have, I believe, nothing is guaranteed, of course, when you talk about the future. I believe we’re going to have a financial crisis that’s going to rival 1929 in the not too distant future.
SPEAKER 04 :
We were headed off of a cliff before Donald Trump was elected. Now, certainly under COVID, he expanded federal spending. I did see though a headline the other day that the deficit was down 2%. I’ve never seen a headline like that. Can we get this ship turned around?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, this is what I think the president needs to do. He needs to make a speech to the American people saying, We have a problem that has been evolving for the past 100 years, believe it or not, 90 years since the New Deal where President Roosevelt expanded the size and scope of the federal government and created all these programs, beginning with Social Security, then Johnson 30 years later with Medicare and Medicaid, and then we have, of course, a huge military-industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell address in 1961. He should say very clearly, we need to have a constitutional federal budget. What does that mean? The federal government, and here’s the point that no one, Kim, has made that I know of in the media, probably on talk radio, I don’t listen to all the talk shows around the country, but the federal government is not responsible for the economy. This is the legacy of the Great Depression when people looked to Washington to solve the problems when the economy imploded. under Herbert Hoover in 1929, 1930, 31, and 32, and people said, okay, we have this massive downturn in the economy, massive unemployment, massive contraction in production. What’s the federal government going to do? Well, there is nothing in the Constitution that talks about why the federal government should have a responsibility for the economy, and the reason we had an implosion in the economy is because the Fed In the 1920s, what it’s been doing for the last 30 years, printing money, manipulating interest rates, and giving us these false booms that always end in tears, whether it’s the dot-com boom, the housing boom, and now some people have called this current situation the everything boom, where everything is inflated from baseball cards to… to artwork to housing to you name it stocks they’re all inflated they’re not at a natural level which means that the federal reserve should stop manipulating interest having said that we the president needs to say to the american people with no more federal dollars, which are taxpayer dollars, that are going to go to colleges, universities, corporations, individuals, and families. We need to have a free market. We need to have a vibrant nonprofit sector, which in the old days were called the mutual aid societies, which were wonderful institutions at the local level, helping people with unemployment benefits, life insurance, healthcare. In other words, the essence of a free society, Kim, is a vibrant private sector, and a very successful successful nonprofit sector. And I’ve been writing about this for decades. And if people embrace those values, that that culture of freedom, which is outlined in the Declaration of Independence, life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, it doesn’t talk about entitlements. That’s not what a free society is all about. The president to say a one year from now, all the federal tax dollars will stop flowing. So you have to become entrepreneurs raising money for your organization, whether it’s a company a small business or a nonprofit or a college or university, you need to raise money the old fashioned way to voluntary exchange.
SPEAKER 04 :
I totally agree with you, Dr. Murray Sabrin, and people can find you at Substack, and that’s M-U-R-R-A-Y-S, as in Sam, A-B-R-I-N, Murray Sabrin. So, Dr. Sabrin, we talk about federal spending all of the time, but what I’ve seen with those that love government is they also are working at the local and the county and the state level. So, for example, Denver, Mayor Mike Johnston has five different debt questions to extend debt. And the question on the ballot is disingenuous because we out here in Colorado, we have something called Tabor, which is Colorado’s Taxpayers Bill of Rights, which basically says And it was an amendment passed in 1992 by the people of Colorado, which says, and I call them PBIs, politicians, bureaucrats and interested parties. If you want to raise taxes, if you want to extend debt or if you want to keep additional revenue or additional tax money that you’ve taken from us, we the people. above a generous growth of inflation plus population, you just have to ask us. Now, the ink wasn’t even dry on this when we had PBIs on both sides of the aisle trying to figure out ways to get around it. But if we’re going to have a tax increase, it has to be on the ballot. And there are five different questions on the Denver ballot to the tune of just under a billion dollars in taxes that they want to extend. And if people say no to this, their property taxes will go down, which I love. But then you look at the payback with the interest, it would be nearly double that. So we do talk so much about the federal level, but we need to really be watching at the local level as well and saying no to additional new taxes or extending debt. Dr. Sabrin.
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, this is why in my book I talk about property taxes. It’s probably the second worst tax because if you don’t pay them, they take away your house, and that’s theft. There’s only one institution that can take your property without due process, and that’s the government. And so what I advocate at the local level is that we have – If you want police protection, you should pay just like you pay for the cable bill or your cell phone bill. If you want education, parents can get together and form co-ops so there’s no property tax to pay for the schools. In other words, we need massive decentralization in our society. And as far as the police, which is a substantial portion of local budgets, We need to come to the realization that the police can’t be everywhere, that we could use our own resources to protect the communities in which we live, have watch people, voluntary watch people. There’s a voluntary police force in New York City. When I was a New York City school teacher, one of my colleagues was a voluntary police officer. He patrolled in the streets with other colleagues. So there are ways of doing these things without burning the taxpayer. And this is why we need to have a thorough discussion in this country at the local level, the state level, and the federal level about what the role of government should be. And the question is, how do you pay for it? And since I believe, as other libertarians believe, that taxation is theft, it’s an involuntary exchange is the polite way of saying it. We the people cannot tax our neighbors. We can’t take money without their permission. We have to persuade them to buy our product and service or give us a grant, a gift. But the government can do this with impunity. And that’s the crisis we have in this country is that people think. government spending and taxes is, quote, normal, is valid, is moral. And I take the position, as do a portion of the population, that no, a free society means voluntary exchanges between people. And the government, of course, how much government do we need? I contend that everything the government does at the federal, state, and local level can be done by the private sector and the nonprofit sector. And therefore, government should be at a minimal size at the federal, state, and local level. And people don’t think that way because of the Great Depression, where people look to Washington, to the states and cities to eliminate risk in their lives. And that’s the real issue, Kim, is that risk is probably the four-letter word that people don’t want to embrace because life changes. It has inherent risks in it. From the time we get up in the morning, drive to work, terrible things can happen to people. And so how do you alleviate risk in our society? Well, you create institutions and organizations that help with that. That’s why we had food banks, Habitat for Humanity, local nonprofit health centers. I helped create one in northern New Jersey when I lived in New Jersey. There’s a great one here in Naples, Florida, where I live now. It’s called the Neighborhood Health Clinic. and they’ve been around for 26 years kid listen to this they have not taken a penny of taxpayer dollars because the founder a physician said i don’t want the government involved i’m going to do this the old-fashioned way which is philanthropy and they’re thriving they’re expanding and they’re helping people who with little means to get quality health care at no cost to taxpayers

So Dr. Sabrin, The founders realized that there had to be some government, otherwise we would have anarchy. What do you feel is the proper role of government? What are the things that government should be doing and how should we pay for it?
SPEAKER 14 :
Well, I think it’s pretty clear, based upon the Declaration and the Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, there’s no role for government in retirement benefits, in health benefits, in education, in housing. These are things that are left to the private sector or the nonprofit sector. I mean, government has a responsibility to keep us peaceful. I think that’s what President Kennedy said. In his address in 1963 at American University, that the government has a very important responsibility. Keep the peace, secure the borders, and at the local level, make sure we have the bad guys off the streets. And, of course, have a court system to adjudicate disputes, which could be done through arbitration, through arbitration. nonprofit organizations as well. So it’s very clear to me, having read the Constitution numerous times since I became a US citizen in 1959, that the government has a very limited role to play. And unfortunately, as I said before, because of the Great Depression and the Great Society, People in Washington and in academia think that government should have a much more expansive role. And that’s why we have a $7 trillion budget and a $2 trillion deficit and a $37 trillion debt. Because the politicians are not being honest with the American people. Because if the people want all this government spending, then they should be happy to be taxed to pay for it. But people don’t believe that they’re getting value for their tax dollars. That’s why taxes don’t go up when spending goes up. People in Washington think it’s a free lunch that they can spend and not tax the people to pay for these things. And that explains the massive debt that we have. And that’s why I created the… make americans financial independent movement with mafia usa.com m-a-s-i-u-s-a.com and the goal is uh to really get the dialogue going to make sure that the government is in in its uh proper role which is very limited according to the constitution and uh that’s the debate we should have in this country and that’s why we have a constitutional crisis that no one in washington wants to talk about or probably even on talk radio i don’t see i don’t hear many voices saying Government should be restricted to Article 1, Section 8. And if we had that debate, we would win very easily because… When the prohibitionists wanted prohibition for alcohol, there was nothing in the Constitution that gave the federal government that authority. So what did they do? They passed the 18th Amendment, which gave the federal government the authority. When the Supreme Court knocked down the income tax in 1895, what did the pro-income tax people do? They got the 16th Amendment passed. And so since then, we basically are in a post-constitutional America where the government can basically do anything it wants, and we the people suffer for it, between taxes, regulation, and this massive debt, which sucks resources away from the private sector into the government.
SPEAKER 04 :
So with the government shutdown, Trump has said that basically he’s firing some workers, shrinking the size of government. And these PBIs, though, are not going to go away easily because once they live off of the taxpayer and they’re not having to provide value for value, but they try to promote the illusion that they are providing value. And I’ll give an example out here in Colorado with homelessness. Mayor Mike Johnston talks about the homelessness all the time and how he wants everybody to have a house and tax people and government spending. We were able to defeat that measure last year that was on the ballot. But when I look at the amount of money that’s going into homelessness, the tragedy of homelessness in Colorado, and I look at the PBIs that are living off of this homelessness industrial complex, they will never solve that problem because if they do, that gravy train goes away, and many of them are being paid handsome sums to fight homelessness, and they have no intention of solving that problem whatsoever.
SPEAKER 14 :
Yeah, and this is why I linked that to a wonderful article that really summarizes the problem in America by Peter Drucker, the great management consultant who wrote a piece of the Wall Street Journal saying government has proved incompetent at solving social problems. And he calls for replacing the welfare state with nonprofits, which are much more effective, much more profitable. cost-efficient, and that’s what we should be doing. Just as we had mutual aid societies before the Great Depression, we need to have a robust nonprofit sector to help people get back on their feet. We know the old adage, give a person the fish you feed them for a day, eat your person the fish you feed them for a lifetime. The homelessness problem is a real tragedy for individuals and their families because these are people that are not productive. They essentially are children again who are adults, but they don’t have any means of earning any money because they don’t have any skills probably to get a paycheck. And that’s the tragedy we have in America. And what does it come down to? Again, our culture has shifted in my lifetime 180 degrees from the 1950s and 60s when I grew up to where we are today, where people have despair. The drug culture is pervasive and it’s not going to be solved by the current administration or any administration with what they’re doing. We need to have a real reset culturally, and that doesn’t happen overnight. That takes time. And here’s where families, religious institutions, nonprofits need to work in concert to help people get back on their feet.
SPEAKER 04 :
well and if we get rid of the uh income tax then we don’t really have to have non-profits if you will non-profits uh have really been taking advantage of the um not not having to pay taxes non-profit doesn’t mean they don’t make money in fact i have looked at uh some of the again the salaries are just handsome salaries for these non-profits if we get rid of the income tax then we would get back to charities that are helping people. Where people have more money in their pocket, they can choose which charities that they want to give to, and they will also make sure that the charity is doing what they say they do. But so many of these nonprofits now are getting government grants, which is not the proper role of government, and they’re not effective in solving the challenges that they say that they will face. Dr. Sabrin, we are out of time, basically. 30 seconds. What’s your final thoughts you’d like to leave with our listeners? I wish we were like Arizona. But speaking of Arizona, Turning Point is located in Arizona. And, of course, this assassination of Charlie Kirk for just having a conversation is unbelievable. But a lot has happened since the assassination. People, new chapters of Turning Point, and they’re just being so creative. So what’s your read on that right now?
SPEAKER 20 :
Well, I think people are still reeling from it, to be honest, and still find it kind of surreal that it actually happened. But I do think the organization itself has, you know, just exploded in the aftermath of all of that. And so, you know, once again, you know, God uses these situations for good. And it’s just miraculous what is happening and how their message has expanded, not just in the United States, but around the world. And I think it will continue to do so. And it’s just been a very interesting process to see it all unfold. And although tragic, you know, you can see the silver lining that’s being taken advantage of. Which, you know, you have to do in tragedy. Well, it is heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking, yet also inspiring at the same time. And I think so many eyes have been opened to Charlie’s message. And that’s what he would have wanted.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, in his faith, of course, my heart hurts for his wife, Erica, their children. And so many people in America have ended up giving their lives for faith and for liberty. And we have to continue to stand on the shoulders of those giants, continue to have these conversations and continue to be engaged in this this culture. And, Susan, I found this so interesting. The NFL and the Super Bowl halftime event. entertainment has continued to get worse and degrade every year. And I don’t even really watch it. Of course, there’s always the hubbub about all of the advertisers and what’s the best ad. So this guy that’s been, I think he’s still scheduled to be the halftime entertainment, is a guy named Bad Bunny. Well, that’s right off the bat. But I looked up some of the lyrics. for one of his big hits, I Like It, and he worked with Beyonce on that and somebody else. But in the lyrics, it’s focused on really tangible things like furs and money and diamonds. But it uses the B word. It uses the N word, which I find it so interesting that if your skin is of a certain color, you can use the N word. And if it’s not, you’re not supposed to, which I think that’s pretty racist. But anyway, the NFL, it’s like they just are continuing to push this junk. Yeah. And then Turning Point has said, we’re going to have an alternative, and we’re going to have the All-American Halftime Show, which will be streamed on a website, I think. I find this so creative and inspiring, Susan Harris.
SPEAKER 20 :
Yeah, I think it’s fascinating, and I think it is a great opportunity to offer an alternative. I will say, as far as the NFL’s choice… You know, they contract that whole thing out with Jay-Z’s company. And so I’m not sure how much actual NFL people had to say about what the halftime show was going to be. But I believe, and this is just my personal opinion, Kim, about the whole Super Bowl event. There is a marketing process going on that we as Americans don’t really understand. understand or know about. And that is the NFL wants to be a worldwide brand. And because they want to be a worldwide brand, they’re trying to appeal to a worldwide audience, not just we see the Superbowl as an American show. And I think the NFL is starting to move away from that. And maybe they have to, because there’s so much competition for our views and, um, I really believe that they made this decision based on their long-term branding goals. And we as conservative Americans kind of feel like we own the Super Bowl in a weird way. And I don’t think we do. And I think we have to let them do what they’re going to do. And we can watch it if we want to watch it and not watch it if we don’t want to watch it. But Turning Point offering an alternative show is great for people who would like to watch the game, even though the Super Bowl is just very minimally about the game, quite frankly. But people who do want to watch the game and the commercials that are sometimes humorous would have a place to take their family’s eyes and ears away. during the halftime show. And I think that’s a great thing to do. And it’s, again, a way to expand the message of faith that Charlie Kirk always wanted to do. And, you know, just a way to not feel like we have to boycott, so to speak, the Super Bowl in its entirety and still be a part of it. But honestly, I really don’t think the NFL… views the Super Bowl anymore as an American show.
SPEAKER 04 :
I had never thought of that. But they have such an opportunity. That’s the Susan Harris opinion. But still, people throughout the globe have wanted to come to America because of our American idea. So they would have an opportunity to really celebrate this American idea. Instead, what they are putting forth is really things that do not celebrate the human spirit at all.
SPEAKER 20 :
I agree. I agree 100% with that. But I also don’t think The NFL does and their ownership does. And if we are true capitalists and believe in free markets, we have to allow them to do what they want to do. And we vote with our dollars and our views. And, you know, there was a time for a while because of their pushback on BLM. and kneeling during the National Anthem, we definitely had an impact. A lot of people walked away from the Super Bowl and stopped watching. And I think it did have an impact on the NFL and their decisions that they made. And they kind of backed off on all of that a little bit. And slowly but surely, I think they got a lot of conservatives and just, you know, your average Americans, they got us back into their market. And so I think they got comfortable with that. And now they’re trying again to see what they can do to expand their marketing. And we have choices. And now TPUSA is going to offer us even another choice. And so maybe that is the choice we can make. But honestly, I’m just not sure that the NFL is an American pastime anymore.

Well, I’ll have to noodle that around and think about that. Because if, in fact, because of chasing this global market, they disenfranchise at least half of the Americans again. I think that that will really affect their bottom line. And so, as you say, we will use our freedom to make our choices on that. Susan Harris, thank you. This has gone way too quickly.
