As God’s chosen people holy and dearly loved, close yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. It reminds me of Micah 6 verse 8. What is required of you guys? I mean God didn’t use that vernacular but what is required of you Oman but to follow justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God and that’s right here in Colossians 312, “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” I believe Kimberly is going to be talking more about that today. You are blessed to dispense for in him you live and you move and you have your being in him, in him praise the Lord. You can listen to our radio programs by going to freedom street.org and clicking on radio shows or you can go to an app 670kltt.com/podcast/cultafreedom and there is a list of Christian speakers on KLTT that you can listen to and choose and call to freedom is among them. Thank you so much Travis for doing that for us. Welcome to the broadcast Kimberly. I appreciate you so much coming on almost every, well you have been coming on every Wednesday. God bless you. Thank you for inviting me. I love the conversations that we have around our Lord and around His Word and I’m just going to jump right in with James 4.5 or do you think that the scripture speaks no purpose? He gelously desires the Spirit which he has made to dwell in us. So we are kind of jumping in here to a passage that it was talking about wondering if there is friendship with the world. Can we have friendship with God at the same time? That’s what we are jumping in on here. Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God or do you think that the scripture speaks to no purpose? He gelously desires the Spirit which he has made to dwell in us. I don’t know what I have thought in the past when I have read that that he gelously longs for us. And I think sometimes we have, if we have been raised in the church, we have heard so many scriptures over and over repeated that we don’t think about what they really mean. We have just memorized them and we say them. We don’t really spend time with them. So I really love being able to look at these scriptures and spend time asking questions about what the Word of God is really saying. I love the message version of this passage in James 4. It says you are cheating on God. If all you want is your own way flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has said it. He is a fiercely jealous lover. And what he gives in love is far better than anything else that you’ll find. Yes. And the Greek here, the literal Greek in verse 5 of James 4 says, “The Spirit,” and that’s “Capital S.” “The Spirit,” which he has made to dwell in us, jealousy desires us. Yes. So he’s made us in his image, the Spirit that he’s put in us for himself is jealously longing for him. And then we’ve got this battle going on with our flesh and our mind and our emotions. And it’s just good to be reminded that that’s what’s going on in life. But the enemy gets into our thinking. He gets into our emotions. He gets into our opinions. And it causes us to be very divided in what we know to be true from the Word of God. This yearning that the Spirit of God has for us is a desire that is an intense craving. It’s a hunger. It’s an ache. It’s a longing or a pining for something. And to imagine God aching like that, just let yourself think about the creator of this universe having this ache and this intense desire and pining for you. And it’s a, I think it’s a paradigm shift when we think of the things that we’re craving and aching for. For longing for you. We need to remember that that aching, that longing is a feeling that God has given us because he feels it. He is a God of emotion. He’s given us emotion because he has emotion. And I so much want him to have his way. It might help to know that my line of thinking today came as a result of going through my New years resolutions. I just decided I need to revisit what I was looking at at the beginning of this year. 10th. 10th. In years past, I’ve participated in fasting with my church at the beginning of every year. I might fast with my friends or family to start out the new year. It’s usually about three weeks long, 21 days of fasting. And it’s just a way of dedicating firsts, like the first part of this year fasting and dedicating that to the Lord. This year, a friend suggested something that I really was not familiar with at all. I hadn’t really heard before. And it’s called a bridegroom fast. And it’s the idea of preparing for a wedding because we are marrying into the Godhead. If you want to put it that way. You know, where the bride of Christ, the bride of Christ, the bride of Christ, I’m really, it’s mind blowing to think that human beings, we are being prepared and formed to be the bride of Christ, that’s who we are. So that’s marrying into the Godhead. I know this sounds like it’s just way out there, but you invited me on your show, so this is your consequence. And it seems like, especially in the biblical times, when there was a bit troughful, the bride prepared herself for a year ahead by cleansing herself, by using oils on herself, by making herself smell good and look really good for the bride. Well, and the bridegroom is preparing also, preparing a place, building a place on place for her. Yes. Yes. Oh, yes. So exciting. When you think of it that way, when I think of it that way, I yearn for God to have his place in me for that to be a restful place and an intimate place of rest for him, that he could actually be in my mind, in my motions and just rest. What does that look like? Usually I’m not even at rest with my own mind and my own emotions. So how do you prepare this place of rest for the King of all kings, the creator of the universe? And I decided this year what I wanted to work on, and it was written in my New Year’s Resolutions, is being kind to myself and others when I feel like I failed or I feel like they have failed, being kind. Because that is peaceful and that is restful and God is so kind and he will take care of whatever we think of failure is. He will take care of it. It will just bring it to him. So inviting him in to my space and being kind to myself and to others, those were my New Year’s resolutions and resolutions are invitations to be with someone, to be with yourself, to be with others, to be resolutions are always wanting us to be better, better people and why do we want to be better so that we can be alone? No, so we can be with others. It’s always a witness, it’s an invitation to witness. Yes. It’s like yesterday I was teaching about we are part of a community that prays for one another and in 1 Peter 2 5 it says we are a chosen generation of people, a royal priesthood, you’re in a community of priests, you’re not alone in this kingdom realm any longer, you’re a holy nation, a peculiar people. So it’s not being an island unto yourself any longer when you belong to Jesus, you’re absolutely right, Kimberly. That’s good. I love that scripture, that passage. So this also reminds me of being with God in the whole process of catching those little foxes in song songs chapter 2 verse 14. He’s asking us, you know, as the bride groom, he’s asking the bride, will you catch the little foxes, will do it together? Oh, no. And it is a together thing. So this goes back to the idea of the mice and the attic, I think I talked about that at the beginning of the year because we had a problem with mice and God does not desire that infestation of thoughts that create unrest in me. Mice and my attic, I was not getting any sleep, I did not have true rest, even during the day I didn’t feel like I could relax. That’s right. I just heard all the scratching and I wondered about all the damage and now you got rid of them, didn’t you? They’re no longer a problem. They are no longer a problem. But that doesn’t mean that my thoughts are no longer a problem. God desires a dwelling place that is peaceful are my thoughts peaceful. I just wanted to present that today wondering how many people out there can say that they really have peaceful thoughts. It’s a peaceful place for the Lord to dwell in and to find sanctuary in. And God is the only one who can really eradicate the infestation of negative thoughts, of pressure, of self-pity, of anxiety and stress, of fear. He’s the only one that can take care of those things, truly take care of them and then restore our thoughts to a pure and holy state, making us his dwelling place. So I just earnestly long for him to have his way in me. I want to be that peaceful place. And I can’t do it on my own. So those my, those thoughts must be eradicated and the little foxes that spoil the vine, they must be caught. So I was thinking along these lines when I picked up Zefania yesterday. I was reading Zefania 1 and I think this really describes the eradication. Zefania 1 versus 2 and 3. Now hold on, because this doesn’t sound very encouraging at first, so just hang with me here. It says, “I will,” this is the Lord speaking, “I will completely remove all from the face of the earth.” Declare’s the Lord. “I will remove man and beast. I will remove the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and the ruins along with the wicked. And I will cut off man from the face of the earth.” That is all inclusive. Zefania is giving a prophecy of everything being removed, no longer having anything left, removing all from the face of the earth.” That’s the prophetic word here. Now if we jump to chapter 3 of Zefania verses 8 and 9, it says, “For all the earth will be devoured by the fire of my zeal. For then I will give to the people’s purified lips that all of them may call on the name of the Lord to serve him shoulder to shoulder.” Yes. Oh, I love this verse. Yeah. Does he mean there that he’s going to get rid of the wicked, all of the wicked on the earth in order to bring a verse 8 and 9 into manifestation? Well, I think we have divided it that way for many years. And especially, that’s what I’ve heard in churches among the Christian circles. We’ve divided it up and said, “Okay, all the wicked are going to be eradicated, removed. And us, right, do you see how it sounds very divided. I’m simply thinking outside of the box.” Okay. All right. And what if we know, we know our God is good. We know that about him and we know he is all powerful. We know he is able to raise the dead. He can do it. He can resurrect anything. He can restore and rebuild and redeem anything. He really can. So what if all means all? That he will completely remove all from the face of the earth. It’s what it says here. I will remove man and beast. I will cut off man from the face of the earth. I will completely remove all from the face of the earth. For the earth will be devoured by the fire of my zeal. And then it says, “For this purpose, I will give.” So he has a purpose for this. He has a purpose and it’s not anger, by the way. It’s not anger. He’s not doing it out of anger. It’s just time. It’s just time. That makes me very excited. It’s just time. Yes. We’ve reached the end of the age and the time has come. And then it says verse 9, “For this purpose, I will give to the peoples.” Wait, what peoples? We just heard that they’re all going to be eradicated. They’re all going to be removed from the face of the earth. For this purpose, I will give to the peoples purified lips that all are gone. Of them may call on the name of the Lord to serve Him shoulder to shoulder. It’s going to be a metaphor again, Kimberly. He’s going to remove by fire in our hearts everything that is defiled, everything that is impure. Yes. Yes. And what I’ve noticed in trying to keep this New Year’s resolution of mine to prepare a place, a sanctuary for Him, a dwelling place of rest that’s an intimate place for God Almighty to just come and sit and just rest. I have been completely and totally frustrated with that whole idea because every time I sit to try to have that space, I have the most distracting thoughts. Because little mice start running around, there’s so many things to do and people to see and phone calls to return and paperwork to finish and things to clean up. Oh, it’s everywhere. All the time. I can’t escape it. And I realized that will finally be done away with. There will be no more distracting thoughts because that part of me will be removed. It will be devoured by the fire of his zeal. And that’s what he will rescue me from. I will no longer be trapped in a flesh body made of this world born into this realm. I’ll no longer be trapped. This is just the place, the beginning place of where he’s forming his bride. And as I learn to just keep choosing Him and trusting Him with the work. I can’t do it anyway. I can’t do the work of cleaning out all of the distracting thoughts from my head. That’s right. I can’t do it. And even every time I want to say something about the Word of God and reveal the Word of God to others and I want others to know Him so badly, I come back to, “Okay, is there any other agenda there? Is there any other motive? Is there any other selfishness? Do I want any recognition in the process?” “Oof!” “Yeah.” “You know, those distractions can come up because I’m still in this flesh body, so I’m still fighting it.” “Yes.” “Well, I love the idea that God is ready to finish out His plan by just saying, “Okay, I’m going to relieve all of you of all this distraction, of all the stress, of all the worry, doubts, fears, it’s all going to be gone.” That’s exciting to me. That is. It is. I don’t think any of us know that absolute sense of being free, absolutely free, of all the thoughts that the enemy tries to bring into us every day, every minute of every day, thousands and thousands of thoughts of, “How shall I do this or shouldn’t I do this? Shall I go here or shouldn’t I go here?” And to be free from all that, Kimberly, is just astounding. “Yeah, it’s beautiful.” “Better.” “Yeah, it is.” “So I somehow ended up then in Psalm 8, and it says, “Oh, Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who have displayed your splendor above the heavens. That’s above the angels, every creature in the other realm.” From the mouth of infants and nursing babes, you have established strength because of your adversaries to make the enemy and the revengeful cease. Well, that’s the plan. To get the enemies and the adversaries of the Lord completely out, out of the picture. And what is man that you take thought of him, the son of man that you care for him, you made him a little lower than God, and you crown him with glory and majesty. This is amazing because he’s choosing to focus in on infants and nursing babies to be the ones. The ones who are establishing his strength, the ones who are helping him defeat adversaries and take out the enemy. Wow, how do you do that with infants and nursing babies? Well, infants and nursing babies are constantly calling out, crying out. They cry out for help because they can’t do anything for themselves. They can’t feed themselves. They need help being fed. And so that is a really great key to look at that and realize God just wants us calling out to him. This whole realm on this world is to let us figure out that we can’t do this on our own. Yes. And we really can’t. We can’t do this on our own. We think we can. We think we’ve got it figured out. And God has given us beautiful resources on this planet. So we do have a lot of resources, a lot of intelligence, opportunities for education, science, laws of science that have been established that are truly amazing, but they’re not the answer. He is the answer. He alone is the answer. And he is giving the answer to dependent ones, those who continue to be dependent on him, calling out to him, crying out like babies. And then we will all have purified lips because we’re calling on the name of the Lord and serving him. I love this whole shoulder to shoulder idea from Zef and I, a three nine to serve him shoulder to shoulder. Do you see that we’re not going to be against each other anymore. We’re going to be with each other shoulder to shoulder with each other. There will be agreement and we’ll be helping each other. This is really good news. Yes. It’s wonderful to see in Psalm 8 how he created man just a little lower than himself. And in verse 6, you have put all things under his feet. He’s talking about us here through David. And then in Hebrews, verse chapter 2, he’s setting Jesus as this example. He’s using Psalm 8 in chapter 2 of Hebrews describing Jesus. But what an example Jesus has been for each and every one of us, Kimberly, that we should follow after him in what he was doing. His obedience just got to God. Yes. Oh, that’s so good because Jesus was sent to be the first born of many. Yes. That’s us. Yes. We’re the many. Yes. And he’s the first born. So to see that God has placed all things under his feet. It’s under our feet as well. He’s placed all things under our feet, but not when we remain independent and think we can figure this all out on our own and hold on to our own opinions that we think we’re just so smart, that we’ve got it all figured out. You know, God really can defy gravity. Gravity might be a scientific law, but I have personally experienced God himself defy gravity. And you were in the car with me when it was supposed to wreck. It was supposed to crash into the boulders that were in the middle of the road. But instead you let go of the steering wheel and you called on Jesus name. You did. I watched you do it. You called on the name of the Lord and that dependent group of family members in that car experienced the car being lifted up. Yes. Not going down, being lifted up. God defied gravity and set us on top of the boulders completely unscathed. No dance, no damage to the car. Underneath the most miraculous thing was we got to California. That was a dark valley we were going through in Idaho. And we went to California. There was no damage in the undercarriage of the car. And we knew that that had happened. I mean, it was a real thing. In fact, his trucker took you and Dana and put him in the cab of his truck until we could lift the car up off of the boulders. That’s a real thing that happened Kimberly. Yes. Wow. Yes. Yes. We experienced it together. And we just need to really look to God as being our answer, not our own opinions, our own theories, our own laws in this realm, but look to Him in His realm. He really will carry us through any dark place. Well, you got to come back tomorrow. You got to. You got more. Okay. God bless all of you. I love you. I love you. And take joy.
