Today’s current opinions and ideas.
SPEAKER 19 :
Surveys show that people still really prefer freedom over government force.
SPEAKER 20 :
Is it freedom or is it force? Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 16 :
indeed let’s have a conversation and welcome to the kim monson show thank you so much for joining us you each are treasured you’re valued you have purpose today strive for excellence take care of your heart your soul your mind and your body my friends we were made for this moment in history thank you to the team that’s producer joe luke rachel zach echo charlie mike theresa amanda and all the people here at crawford broadcasting happy tuesday producer joe happy tuesday kim And we’ve got another great show planned for you, so fasten your seatbelts. You’ll get first look at our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. And we recently published Alan Thomas’ essay regarding Federalist Paper 42 and immigration gains. And be sure and check that out. You can email me The text line is 720-605-0647. I do want to hear from you. And thank you to all of you who support us. We are an independent voice on an independent station, and we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. and it’s never compassionate nor altruistic to take other people’s stuff, whether or not it’s their rights, their property, freedom, livelihood, opportunity, childhoods, or lives via force. Force can be a weapon, but it can be policy, unpredictable in excess of taxation, fees, fear, coercion, government-induced inflation, the agenda of the World Economic Forum and the globalist elites, You see that play out at the United Nations, but you’re seeing that play out big time right here in Colorado. Not only at the state level, but at the county and the local level as well. And remember, if something’s a good idea, you shouldn’t have to use force to implement it. And socialism is not about free stuff. That’s the carrot to get people to support it, to vote for it. But ultimately, it has to come down to force. And again, if something’s a good idea, you should not have to force people to do it. On the show, we focus on the issues and talk about the people pushing those issues, but we stay out of all of the personality, or we really try to stay out of all the personality and emotion and stay with reasoned conversations. Because when you have emotion involved, you do not make good decisions. The radical activist Marxist left knows that. That’s why they whip up people’s emotions. But that’s why we need to be the adults in the room. We’ve got to look at these things with reason. So be sure, and that’s what we’re focused on. Let’s see, I do want to mention, let’s see, I think I’ll do that in the next session. The next segment, we, as I mentioned, we are an independent voice on an independent station. It happens because of our sponsors and also your support. A great way to support the show also is to give our sponsors your business when you’re looking for their goods or services. And also wanted to say thank you to Laramie Energy for their gold sponsorship of the show. It is reliable, efficient, affordable, and abundant power from naturally occurring hydrocarbons such as oil, natural gas, and coal that powers our lives, fuels our hopes and dreams, and empowers us to change our own personal climate. If you have any challenges with your own personal climate, you’ll want to talk to Ben’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling, and you can get their information at my website. Just give them a call or text them. And again, just reach out to them if you’re having any issues. Any challenges with your own personal climate or your water heater, anything like that? Let’s get over here to our word of the day is circumvent. And it’s spelled C-I-R-C-U-M-V-E-N-T. And it could be to go around or bypass, to avoid by artfulness or elude, or to surround or encompass by artfulness as by stratagem or entrap. And I think we’re going to be talking about several pieces of legislation. One of those is this House Bill 26-1001 regarding affordable housing on vacant property. And the approval would circumvent the normal processes for other developments. And there’s something that’s really wrong about that. I actually think that we should get rid of many of these rules and regulations regarding development. It would lower the cost of housing, but instead you see this particular proposal circumvents those processes. in favor of picking winners and losers, in essence, is what that is. So your challenge is to use the word circumvent in a sentence today. Again, that is spelled C-I-R-C-U-M-V-E-N-T. And we have these discussions because of our sponsors. One of those is Hooters Restaurants. And how I got to know them was because of when I was on city council. And it was really, I would say, interested parties. The interest of parties, along with politicians and bureaucrats, was trying to circumvent free markets and freedom and capitalism. That’s how I got to know them. They’re great sponsors. They’re great patriots, as well. They have three locations for Hooters restaurants. That’s Loveland, Westminster, and in Aurora. And I think they have the best nachos I’ve ever had. So be sure and check that out. They do have the nachos on special for lunches. And our quote of the day is from George Washington. We are focusing on George Washington throughout the month of February. It is President’s Month, if you will. There’s George Washington’s birthday, Abraham Lincoln’s, and also Ronald Reagan. So on Lincoln and Reagan’s birthdays, we’ll focus on them. But otherwise, we’ll be talking about George Washington. And I want to thank my friend Lisa for coming up with this idea. She said, Kim, we need to be looking at things that are hopeful. And of course, the story of George Washington is remarkable because he is known as the father of our country. But he was born in 1732. and he died in 17 excuse me in 18 excuse me 17 1799 sorry about that he was a founding father the first president of the united states commander of the continental army and he is commonly known as the father of our nation for his role in bringing about american independence and he said this make sure you are doing what god wants you to do and then do it with all your strength and again that’s george washington our bill of the day is senate bill 26010 and it is uh let’s see a couple of things to give you here it is a uh whoops hold on here just a second i got to make sure i’ve got the right the right one here, Senate Bill 010. Okay. And it is one of the bills that we are focusing on with our cut engaged and would highly recommend my friends to start to use cut engaged and You can make your voice heard on the bills that we select within basically two minutes and Granted if we only have a few that send in information, they’ll look at it but if we have a lot of people that weigh in on these bills, it’s going to start to make a difference and And CUT supports Senate Bill 21010, Agricultural Property Tax Definitions. This is our commentary on it. It says, the bill appears to benefit small and family agricultural operations, which are facing significant economic challenges because of high property taxes and rising production inputs. The bill appears to restrict lower property tax rates to only genuinely agricultural properties. and if you go to colorado taxpayer dot org at the top you’ll see are different headings and you go to cut engaged click on that and we have the most recent bills are at the top there’s five bills that you can weigh in on and uh… again this would be very easy for you to do it takes about two minutes and we all need to be engaging fee five bills that we selected for this week is first of all senate bill twenty six zero zero five It’s titled The Rights Violation in Immigration Enforcement Remedy. And so this is a bill that is trying to undercut ICE here in Colorado. Then House Bill 26-1036, local taxes on vacant residential property. This is the bill that, in essence, would give jurisdictions the power to put an additional property tax on second homes, ultimately, is what that is. House Bill 26-1005, Worker Protection Collective Bargaining. This bill eliminates the requirement under the Labor Peace Act to conduct a second election to negotiate a union security agreement clause in the collective agreement. And then a cut bill. We’ll talk about this with Kevin Lumberg. House Bill 26-1005. One zero zero one housing developments on qualifying properties. This is really a bad one. And then this last one, we do support Senate Bill 26 zero one zero. So I go to cut Colorado taxpayer dot org. Join us. It’s only twenty five dollars. That way you will get our email that goes out on Monday mornings to legislators and the governor with our positions and make sure that you do that as well. So the show does come to you because of our great sponsors. And of course, the Roger Mangan State Farm Insurance team has been helping many of you save money. SPEAKER 16 :
And welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. Throughout the month of February, we’re going to be talking about George Washington because his birthday is in new time, February 22nd and old time, February 11th. And yesterday we talked about there’s five different times that George Washington dodged a bullet, if you will. And the next one that we’re going to talk about is at the Battle of Monongahela. And it’s almost miraculous, and this is from American Heritage, an escape that took place in the full eye of history. The French and Indian War was underway, and the British crown had sent to America two regular regiments under the command of General Edward Braddock. Braddock’s mission was to march from Virginia through the wilderness to the falls of the Ohio, now Pittsburgh, and capture the French Fort Duquesne from which Indian raids on the Virginia and Maryland frontiers were being staged. As a volunteer aid to Braddock, Washington contended that it would be madness to fight Indians who skulked behind trees with the wide and deep blocks of soldiers that moved ponderously but effectively on the open fields of Europe. Braddock enjoyed arguing with the young, bumptious provincial Washington, who was now 22, but paid no attention to what the youth advised. The British engineers cut a continuous 12-foot wide clearing through the wilderness down which the troops could march in formation. They had penetrated to within a few miles of Fort Duquesne when multiple shots sounded from the flanking woods. No enemy could be seen, but in bloody contortions, the Redcoats were falling. The British regulars could conceive of no way to fight except in formation, and thus the officers tried desperately to keep their men lined up under the rain of fire. Indignantly, Braddock refused Washington’s request that he be allowed to lead the provincial troops into the woods and engage the enemy in their own way. The slaughter was terrible, and the officers towering on horseback above the Malay were for the Indians the best targets. One after another they went down. Washington’s horse was shot from under him. He leaped on another. Bullets tore his coat. Braddock toppled over. Washington’s second horse crumbled. His hat was shot off. However, as he wrote later, the miraculous care of Providence protected me beyond all human expectations. He survived unscratched to lead the remnant of Braddock’s army away from the pile of bloody bodies and into comparative safety. And this is then from Mount Vernon dot org. It said the Indian prophecy is a legend told about George Washington’s miraculous survival at the Battle of Monongahela and a subsequent encounter he had with an indigenous Sakham. A variant version is sometimes known as the Bulletproof President. The tale is credited to Washington’s doctor and friend, James Craik, and the fullest version was published by Washington’s step-grandson, George Washington Park Custis, in the 1820s. Custis’ telling recalls that during a 1770 trip to what is now West Virginia, Craig and Washington encountered an Indian SACIM chief who had fought against them during the Battle of Monongahela on 9 July 1755. The SACIM revealed that during the fight he had ordered his men to kill Washington, but all their shots had missed. He declared that a power mightier far than we shielded Washington from harm. He then predicted that Washington would become the chief of nations and a people yet unborn. We’ll hail him as the founder of a mighty empire. And the core of the story is one that’s been in circulation since at least 1800. And I think that we can take a lot of hope from this story as we are now. Washington believed that divine providence had his hand on Washington and America. Divine providence has his hand on America now. And pleased to have on the line with me, Kevin Lundberg. He is a former state senator as well as the author of the Lundberg Report. Kevin Lundberg, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, thank you, Kim. It’s always good to be with you. And, you know, that story kind of reminds me of a bullet that. Just grazed President Trump.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, anyway, let’s move on to the… Yes, there have been some similarities for sure. But let’s talk about Protect Kids Colorado. So, Kevin Lundberg, I had committed to do a petition yesterday. And I got that done. I got a second petition. And I got, I think, an additional almost 30% signatures. I did turn them in. And so tell us where we are with Protect Kids Colorado.
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, we are in the final days of collecting signatures. We are required to return them, the petitions, signed petitions and notarized, of course. to the Secretary of State on February, let’s see, 108, I believe it is, is due on February 17th and February 20th for the other two. Now, that sounds like we’ve got plenty of time here, but there’s a whole lot of coordination that has to happen after you collect the signature. You know, we’ve got people all over the state, and we’ve been madly collecting for the last six weeks, really, And longer and trying to pull it all together. And but we have to take take those petitions and and organize them, verify that the the notary pages have been filled out properly and make records of that to provide as well to the secretary of state. and we are also collecting enough information so that we know what we’ve handed in, too, so it’s not just a guessing game on our part. Anyway, that takes a lot of time. So we’ve only got a few days left to get the last batch in. We’ve got well over 100,000 of those 125,000 required signatures in hand already, but we know that it’s real close. It’s real close to how it’s really going to turn out here. I’m incredibly encouraged. I’m learning every day of people who are really, at this point, courageously going out in the public and asking for signatures. The reason I say that is the vast majority of people, first to start off with, these three issues, which we’ve discussed before, are very well received by most people. Colorado citizens. But there are a few out there. And in this last week, we’ve had several incidents. Down in Durango, there was one guy who was standing and bothering the signature gatherers. He ends up simply, literally spitting at them and then walking away. Well, that was nice compared to the guy in Loveland who came and and uh through the table that they had set up outside of king super’s uh grocery store just threw it out and you know overturned the whole thing and and just tried to to make as much trouble as possible and then another another kid a few days ago went to one of the tables and grabbed them and and ran with them and they chased after them and finally got the petitions back And then I learned of a story just from yesterday where somebody, again, at a grocery store, grabs one of the grocery carts and starts to charge at the elderly ladies who were at the table collecting signatures. And fortunately, we have now learned to have some some backup protection and somebody literally went and headed off that cart so he did no damage. But we’re seeing a lot of people that are really going after us. However, the vast majority are very grateful and anxiously signing the petition. So that’s a long story to simply say we’re getting real close, but we’re working really hard in the last few days to bring it all in.
SPEAKER 16 :
so a couple of things uh i am going to be emceeing the phillips county republican lincoln day dinner it’s a lunch actually this sunday out in holyoke and yvonne paez who is the kind of the general on this she’s really done a monumental job on this trying to keep this whole thing organized but i think that she’s gonna i think she’s gonna go with me and we may take a notary with us as well And I think she may have some petitions to pick up out there on the eastern plains. And we hope to get some additional signatures there. But so I know that she’s I just wanted to give her a shout out. And I want to get over here to your Web site, which is Protect Kids Colorado, and also give a shout out to your incredible board as well. But she has really, really come up and stepped up on this. Kevin Lundberg.
SPEAKER 04 :
Ivan is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met. And, you know, I have told you about some of the security concerns. Well, Ivan’s background is being a policeman. And so she’s very familiar with law enforcement, and she’s been able to guide us through those hurdles as well. And just last night, I was on a call with the circulators, a Zoom call, and Yvonne was reiterating, you know, be courteous, don’t engage, try to disengage from any issue like that. You know, still follow through. And Yvonne is such a detail-oriented person. We call her the general. Yes. Because she’s in charge of all this. And you identified another big, big part of the project right now. And that is… And currying all of these petitions, because it’s actually too unreliable to put it in a mailbox, and kind of expensive that way, too. And we still have to collect probably 1,000 petitions that are still out there that will make that difference between getting over the final hurdle or not. But we have people who are kind of informally organizing. You know, if somebody’s down in Durango or out of the Eastern Plains in Holyoke, which is a long way away, you need to coordinate this. And we’re trying to, you know, figure out, okay, who’s heading out there for some reason? Can they come back and pick some things up from people who have them on the way? And this is all kind of pulling together. Now, most of those petitions are coming from the front range, but very important out there in Phillips County and the surrounding counties. Stephen Brown, he’s probably the principal leader of the effort, both with the GOP as well as with our PKC effort out in that area. And, you know, people like that are doing what they can in their area. And then, you know, the big task is to get it all up to Aaron Lee’s house, frankly, in Wellington. where that’s the central spot where they’re actually doing all the scanning of the petitions and verifying that they look all right. And if something isn’t quite right on particularly the notary pages, we don’t just set it aside. No, we go back and try to fix it. We try to get this back to the original circulator if that’s what’s necessary or the original note. notary or something to get this work so to work so that we really have the entire package ready to deliver to the secretary of state in a couple of a couple of deliveries we’ll deliver 108 first and then and then the other two later in the week.
SPEAKER 16 :
So on that note, well, two things. First of all, with my petitions, I ended up talking with neighbors who then they introduced me to other neighbors or they had their family members sign. And so one of my neighbors, her daughter-in-law, posted that she was going to have, that we were going to do a petition signing at her home. And Unbelievably, so she posted it on the church social media. She ended up being excoriated for putting that on there by two different people. And so she got to a point, she said, I think this is important. And so she ended up… And they ended up taking it down. And this is shutting down voices. This is not saying you support or not support. This is only saying, hey, we just want to put this to a vote of the people. And so this has been we were all I was just totally shocked. I couldn’t believe it, Kevin.
SPEAKER 04 :
And so go ahead.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 04 :
You know, that’s another important aspect of this is is there’s a whole lot of educating going on as far as the political process goes. Making bills is actually up to we, the people, initially. Now, we do that primarily by appointing representatives to go down to the legislature and make law there, which is not working out too well right now in Colorado. But we also have this authority and established authority. process for citizen initiatives, which is rarely done on a volunteer citizen level. It’s usually kind of a rich man’s game. If you’ve got a million bucks, you can buy your way onto the ballot. And literally, that’s what it takes, or more. But we the people have stepped up to the plate, and a lot of people who were a little uncomfortable with that, oh, well, we’re talking politics. Well, yes, we are. And you may not care about politics, but politics cares about you and affects you every day. And our system of government establishes that we the people are ultimately in charge, but only if we will take that authority and responsibility seriously. So a lot of people are learning this, and a lot of churches in particular have been very reticent to get engaged. However, I’ve seen a lot of real positive movement where people and organizations are understanding it’s my responsibility to ensure that the laws of this land are created properly and protected. And so, yeah, we’re getting pushback, and I’ve told you a little bit about, you know, some of the kind of minor violence that’s occurred around this. But for the most part, everybody’s sorting this out, and hundreds, literally hundreds of churches have gotten engaged and allowed the gathering of signatures with their congregations. during days where they have services and the like. So I’m encouraged overall, and people are learning.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yes, it has been a real learning experience as well. And again, I would really encourage all of our listeners to pray over this endeavor so that it can be successful to get these three questions onto the ballot. So we’re going to go to break. We’ll be right back with Kevin Lundberg. These discussions happen because of our sponsors. And for everything residential real estate, talk to Karen Levine.

They’re preparing for the next season, but I’d highly recommend that you check that out. We are talking with Kevin Lumberg. He is a former state senator, author of the Lumberg Report, also on the board for Protect Kids Colorado. And we are in the final stages of getting all of these signatures in. People have been working
SPEAKER 04 :
probably close to a thousand people have been carrying these petitions wouldn’t you say kevin uh well actually um of those that we’ve already entered into the system we have over 1500 people who carry petitions so yeah yeah i’d agree only it’s more
SPEAKER 16 :
That is remarkable. And I want to give a shout out to your board as well. That’s you, Kevin Lundberg, Aaron Lee, Mark Spangler, Patty McKernan, Jeremy Goodall, Lori Gimmelstein, and Shannon Thomas. And again, all of you, enormous amount of time. Yvonne Paez, thank you for this monumental effort that is going on.
SPEAKER 04 :
And thousands of other people. I mean, because I’m not… Of course, I really want to give a shout-out to the captains of the… You know, the county captains, because we’ve got… you know people with with uh responsibilities in their individual county all over the state and then people kind of downstream of them who have been handing out uh petitions to others who’ve been collecting signatures uh the hundreds of churches who’ve taken the courage to say yeah this is an important issue and we we are going to support this in an active aggressive way and then the The tens of thousands of people who have signed the petitions, which is well over 100,000, you know, the real drum roll is, okay, do we meet that magic number that’s required, which is 124,000 people? 200 and something or something like that but that’s of course valid signatures so you have to overshoot that because you know some people will make a mistake somewhere or maybe maybe they signed it and they weren’t really a registered voter you know sometimes people don’t understand all the details there but um it has really been an incredible journey so far And I want to double back something. You asked for prayer for this. That’s not just a trivial part of the process. We have bathed this process in prayer, knowing that with God’s blessing, we can make this. So without it, even if we get there, it really isn’t the right path. Our nation was founded on biblical principles, and people who feared God understood what the proper role of government should be, and what the real responsibilities of self-government is. Because the free people cannot survive without taking on their own responsibilities. And these are principles that really God laid down in so many ways in Scripture. And we’re, to the best of our ability, following those paths. And we’re seeing a real exciting renewal of civic responsibility out of this, as well as working on very important issues. that need to change in our law.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, they really do. And I wanted to note just a detail that I did not know, and that is I had gotten my petitions notarized and went immediately out to the car and wanted to arrange to deliver them to my captain. And she said, did the notary, after their name, put in notary public and i said well no but i said that they had put their stamp on it and she said oh you need to have them the notary has to sign their name and then it says and it’s it’s a little ambiguous but it says title so they the notary also needs to put notary public behind their name as well. Otherwise, the Secretary of State might kick out those petitions. Now, I think that’s kind of stinky myself, but I was able to go back and get that done.
SPEAKER 04 :
Good, good. Well, I’m glad you were. And yeah, let me explain this a little bit. I mean, it’s a bit of a pain, frankly, to get anything notarized in the first place. And that’s not common to every petition process in every state. But here in Colorado, they’re very fastidious on these things. And I personally think it’s just because the legislature wants to make it as difficult as possible for the people to actually vote. engage in the making of law that’s that’s a little bit of a side comment there but but when it comes to the notary page that is a very particular legal document and there are several boxes you know it says name last name first name of the circulator and then the name of the notary and And or the notary public will call them because that’s technically their title. And you’re right. In one box, it says signature and title. And some people who, you know, like maybe they’re a bank officer. So they’ve written down bank official. That’s my title. Well, no, not according to the secretary of state’s rules. And they do have some flexibility in that there are some things that if you fill in the wrong name in the wrong box, they will just disallow the entire petition. We’re talking about the notary page here. But yes, they asked for a signature and title. And that’s kind of one strike because they’ve got kind of a three strike policy also. So, and actually they don’t explain why they’re looking for a title, because certain people who are not notary publics can notarize documents, judges, for example. So in that case, they would not say notary public, they’d say, you know, judge of the blah, blah, blah district or whatever. But, yes, there’s a stamp that’s required, and if the stamp’s a little smudged, you have to stamp it again, and you have to initial the bad one. And so if there are three minor problems, then they’re supposed to reject the affidavit, the notary page. Or if there’s a major one, like there is no signature from the notary, or they did it in the wrong box. And unfortunately, then they just throw the whole thing out. And that’s part of the reason we have to overshoot the actual number, because they’re pretty generous on throwing stuff out. And they have that kind of… logic to individual signatures as well. So they’ll accept some minor problems. You know, somebody like somebody called, asked yesterday, well, I mistakenly wrote 2025 on the date. Well, yeah, a lot of us do that in January. And so they’ll accept that if it’s within the chronological sequence of of 26s on either side, but, you know, so.
SPEAKER 16 :
So with this, I think that your team is curing these signatures, though, as well, because I know that I got a call regarding my personal signature on that, and we went through and determined that it was okay. I think it’s so I know that there’s a lot of work in trying to kind of cure these as well, yes?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Yeah. To the best of our ability, we’re trying to sort out everything that the secretary of state is going to do in the first place. And that’s we even have a specially designed piece of software that Aaron’s husband, John, developed. And it’s a brilliant piece. I actually think it may become a standard for software. petition drives if, you know, if he markets it well. But he put this together for us just on a volunteer basis. It’s a very sophisticated tool, frankly. Now, it can’t go and search the signature images with the Secretary of State, but it can search the data and And it interprets the handwriting as best as AI will allow, which is pretty good nowadays. And so, yes, we’re doing everything we can to valid to verify that what we’re putting before the secretary of state’s office is is good, solid information and that we’ve got a record of it, too, so that we can know that they come back with very different numbers than what we know to be the case. We may have a legal tussle to get into that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, that is excellent. So, again, more information, protectkidscolorado.org is the website. SPEAKER 16 :
And welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. Be sure and check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. And the USMC Memorial Foundation will be hosting their golf tournament, one of the first ones out of the shoot. It will be in May. And right now you can go to USMCMemorialFoundation.org and get early bird pricing. So be sure and check that out and support the memorial. They are doing such great work in taking care of the memorial and raising the money for the remodel. We’re talking with… Kevin Lundberg, he is the author of the Lundberg Report, also former state senator. And Kevin Lundberg, yesterday I received a text from one of the journalists at Denver 7 wanting some commentary. regarding House Bill 26-1001, because our Colorado Union taxpayers take it a no position, vote no on that. And before we get into that, I want to say thank you to this team. Steve Dorman, Greg Golianski, Russ Haas, Bill Hamill, Rob Knuth, John Nelson, Wendy Warner, Marty Nielsen, Ramey Johnson, Mary Jansen, Dave Evans, Corey Onozori, Paula Beard, and Ray Beard, and want to say thank you to the great work that they’re doing, all volunteers looking at this legislation. And the journalist had one of the prime sponsors, Andrew Bozenaker, on, as well as one of the developers. on one of these particular projects and we are so concerned about this house bill 1001 and it is titled housing developments on qualifying properties and it requires that’s that force where local governments to allow residential development including multi-story buildings on qualifying properties owned by certain non-profit organizations school districts State colleges or universities, housing authorities or transit district or transportation authority. This proposed legislation usurps the role and responsibility of local governments to control land use and property development. And it also uses the safety clause, which shuts down the voice of the people. What we’re seeing with Protect Kids Colorado, with throwing out possible signatures or notaries, you know, as you say, they are very generous with throwing things out. I am seeing that even though there’s the illusion of representative government with many of these things, It’s an illusion. They don’t really want to hear from the people. But lastly, this moves these projects from having to go through the normal process of zoning and planning and all these things that make housing more expensive. This would pick winners and losers. It would fast track these particular developments and they would only have to be approved by an administrative process. So no opportunity for the community to weigh in at all. This is a very concerning piece of legislation, Kevin Lundberg.
SPEAKER 04 :
I agree. And let me point out a couple of things. One, the number on this bill, which is 1001. That means it was the very first bill introduced, and that was by the choice of the Speaker of the House. And generally what they do with the first 10 bills, and particularly the first bill, is this is their most important issue. this is what they want to put out you know as the session begins so uh not just the sponsors of this bill but but the speaker herself uh has put their stamp of approval on this as being a really important thing now that’s one thing here’s another thing it it it’s um remarkably absent from the list of developers who can do this are developers who are in the business of building buildings. You know, it’s a nonprofit organization or a school district or a college or a housing authority or a local or regional transit district that can actually initiate these projects. And so they are cutting out the private sector in Not entirely, because they still have to hire somebody to build these things. But the actual authority given is you’re cutting out the folks who actually build buildings. And why? Well. And they can’t think in terms of free enterprise and capitalism as a good thing. They can only think of, oh, well, if we’ve got this NGO, which is a nongovernmental organization, a nonprofit of some sort, they’re the good guys. But the bad guys are the ones who actually build the buildings. Here’s another thing. They just mow over the zoning. You’re quite correct. And some of that has very good reason to be there. I remember there was a project being proposed down in Longmont a couple of years ago, and I got involved in it for various reasons of the approval process. And it was pointed out that they were going to build a multi-story building at the end of the airport runway. And it was in that zone where the FAA has said, look, you can’t put buildings there because if a plane goes off track a little bit, it’s going to run into the building. Well, you need to go through this planning process to sort that stuff out. And they’re not doing that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, and the other thing is… It’s stupid. It is. And this did not make it into the Denver 7 report. But the other thing is, is many of these… affordable or it’s subsidized housing is what it is, is that many times they do not, those projects do not pay property taxes. So here you would be plopping into a single family neighborhood this four- or five-story building. And many school districts have dedicated land that may be used as parks right now. Well, you might see a four- or five-story apartment building on that with this, and the local government could say nothing about it. But then many times, that project would not pay any property taxes, but it will be bringing in people that will use water, utilities, police, fire, school districts, using all that in a very dense way and not paying any taxes. So then that tax burden goes to the people that are already there, which is a real problem as well. Quick commentary on that, and then we have a couple of comments that came in on the text line, which is 720-605-0647, back to Protect Kids Colorado. So a question for you on that. So final comment on 1001.
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. Yeah. And that is now understand I chase against excessive regulations that does drive up the cost of housing. And that should be addressed, but not by, as you say, picking winners and losers and particularly cutting out the actual industry that that really does develop these projects. It’s just so typical to the socialist mentality of somehow the government’s going to do it right, and we the people just aren’t capable of managing our own affairs.
SPEAKER 16 :
Yeah, and that’s not the way it’s supposed to be in America. So a comment came in regarding Protect Kids Colorado. Some people don’t want to protect kids in Colorado. Their behavior can only be explained as the work of the devil on that one. Then next question, is there a way to verify whether I have already signed these Protect Kids Colorado petitions? I know that they’ve been out there for a while, and I know a lot of people are like, did I sign those? Is there any way to check that out?
SPEAKER 04 :
Well, not practically so. No, I mean, we’ve got a partial list, but we won’t have the complete list until it’s too late to sign them, frankly. My counsel is if you’re not that sure, you know, I mean, if you can remember signing three petitions. And so that’s kind of a good gauge right there. And we’ve been doing this for the last six months. So if you haven’t signed three petitions all at once, or Adam presented to you that way, then you probably have not signed this. And at that point, I’d say, go ahead and sign it, because here’s the worst thing that can happen. If you sign it twice, one of your signatures won’t be counted. But if you aren’t sure, and so you don’t sign it at all, then none of your signatures will be counted. So you choose.
SPEAKER 16 :
Absolutely. And then lastly, this just came in. It said at the last Chaffey County Commissioners meeting, the housing trust representative requested a building permit fee waiver. The request was for a waiver of up to $15,000. This is not the way it’s supposed to work here. And obviously, if it’s easier for these these projects to be built faster and less expensive, more affordable, then that is the same that goes for all of these other projects, single-family homes. And so we need to get back to where government is not picking winners and losers. Kevin Lumberg, as always, there’s so much great information. We’ll talk with you next week. Thank you to you and your team for the great work that you’re doing.
SPEAKER 04 :
Thank you. Looking forward to our discussion next week.
SPEAKER 16 :
Okay, and again, that’s Kevin Lumberg, and you can find him, the Lumberg Report, at KevinLumberg.com. And our quote for the end of the show is from George Washington. He said, When there is no vision, there is no hope. So today, be grateful. Read great books. Think good thoughts. Listen to beautiful music. Communicate and listen well. Live honestly and authentically. Strive for high ideals. And like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you. God bless America. Stay tuned for hour number two.

It’s the Kim Monson Show, analyzing the most important stories.
SPEAKER 16 :
That seems to me like government is establishing a religion.
SPEAKER 20 :
The latest in politics and world affairs.
SPEAKER 16 :
If you give people rights, women’s rights, gay rights, whatever, there can’t be equal rights if there are special rights.
SPEAKER 20 :
Today’s current opinions and ideas.
SPEAKER 19 :
Surveys show that people still really prefer freedom over government force.
SPEAKER 20 :
Is it freedom or is it force? Let’s have a conversation.
SPEAKER 16 :
Indeed, let’s have a conversation. Welcome to our number two of the Kim Monson Show. Thank you so much for joining us. You eat your treasure. You’re valued. You have purpose. Today’s drive for excellence. Take care of your heart, your soul, your mind and your body. My friends, we were made for this moment in history. And thank you to the team. Happy Tuesday, Producer Joe.
SPEAKER 14 :
Happy Tuesday, Kim.
SPEAKER 16 :
And great information. Hour number one with Kevin Lundberg. We’ve got a great conversation coming up here in hour number two as well. Check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N dot com. Make sure you’re signed up for our weekly email newsletter that goes out on Sundays. That way you will get first look at our upcoming guests as well as our most recent essays. You can email me at kim at kimmonson.com. The text line is 720-605-0647. And I do want to hear from you as well. And thank you to all of you who support us. We’re an independent voice on an independent station. and we search for truth and clarity by looking at these issues through the lens of freedom versus force, force versus freedom. If something’s a good idea, you should not have to use force to implement it. On the show, we focus on the issues and reasonable conversations. We work to stay out of all the… political personality emotion stuff that’s going on when you’re over in that arena you don’t make good decisions so that’s why we are working to really have these reasonable thoughtful conversations so that then you can engage with your friends and your family regarding these issues that are facing us, because we are in an epic battle of ideas at this particular point in time, and we need to be talking with our friends and our family. This 24-hour news cycle Not only just on television now, where you can have 24 hours, but the 24 hours of on your phone, all these alerts that come up. It’s just a constant barrage. And a lot of this may be somewhat propaganda. And how do we sift through this to get to the truth? That’s what we are working diligently on here at the Kim Monson Show to help you with all of that. and so our word of the day though let’s get to that it’s circumvent it’s c-i-r-c-u-m-v-e-n-t and it could be number one to go around or bypass number two to avoid by artfulness or elude or number three to surround or encompass by artfulness as by stratagem or to entrap and the colorado state legislature is really circumventing the voice of the people there is an illusion that they are representing the people But in essence, they’re representing… And I’m talking about the radical activists that have taken over the Democrat Party, although we also see it in the Republican Party, where there’s interest of parties that are pushing certain pieces of legislation. But it’s this illusion that they’re representing the people. And look no further than this House Bill 26-1001, which is regarding… Affordable, affordable, another word is subsidized housing on vacant property. So if you have, for example, a school district, some land was dedicated for a school, but that was not used for a school, that vacant property now in your neighborhood with this particular bill, 1001 could have a three to four story affordable. Again, I have that in air quotes. So subsidized housing in your neighborhood. Very possibly it would not pay property taxes, which would mean all of those services that all of those people would be needing in that particular subsidized housing would then fall on the current taxpayers. So it changes the fabric of your neighborhood. and you you uh would you we those in the neighborhood would probably have to pay more in taxes and then this 1001 takes away your voice all this could be approved through an administrative process meaning doesn’t have to go through planning zoning any of those things that have been in place that make it more difficult for uh… developers develop affordable projects because of all of the red tape and all of the fees so this would fast-track these developments picking winners and losers that is not ok and then in addition they stuck the safety clause on there so that uh… that we the people could not take this piece of legislation to a vote to say whether or not we agree with that. So there’s this illusion that they try to give that they’re representing the people. No, no, no. When we really look at it, it is an illusion right now, and so we need to shed light on that. We do that on a regular basis. And again, this 1001 is circumventing the voice of the people, and it’s important to… Understand that. Our quote of the day, we are focusing on George Washington throughout the month of February because it’s his birthday month. In old time, he was born on February 11th. In new time, that date is February 22nd. I don’t quite know what that… The difference is exactly on that, but it is important that it’s his birthday month. Thank you to Lisa for her suggestion on focusing on these stories. I will share the story that we had in the first hour regarding the Battle of Monongahela, where he had two horses shot out from underneath him. His hat was shot off, and he survived, and also direct shots at him, and there were no bullet holes in his jacket. It’s a remarkable story, and I’ll share that with you in the fourth segment. But this is George Washington’s quote, and he was born in 1732. He died in 1799. He says, “‘Make sure you are doing what God wants you to do, then do it with all your strength.'” And that is our quote of the day. The bill of the day is Senate Bill 26010, Agricultural Property Tax Definitions. It is one of the bills that we selected for Cut Engaged. There’s five bills that you can, within two minutes, make your voices heard. And this 1001, I think we did that last week. So there’s a total of eight bills right now. You can go through and have your voice heard. It’ll maybe take you three minutes to and if a lot of us use cut engaged it’s going to make a difference you can go to coloradotaxpayer.org look at the top cut engaged go to that very simple you can weigh in with the main bill sponsors and also let your senator and representative know how you feel about those as well so again that’s at coloradotaxpayer.org And as I mentioned, I work with amazing people as they strive for excellence, as they work with their clients and provide services. And we have John Bozen on the line with Bozen Law. John, welcome.
SPEAKER 05 :
Good morning, Kim.
SPEAKER 16 :
Lots going on, John Bozen.
SPEAKER 05 :
Thank you for your voice and thank you for continuing just to educate us. Everybody locally has got to get involved. It’s these little bills that sneak up on folks and Too often we all hear about it after the fact, but not if we listen to the Kim Monson show.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, that is true. And you know what they say is when the bulldozers show up, it’s too late. So when these bulldozers show up in your neighborhood and you’re going, what’s going on with that piece of property over there that I thought was a park? So that’s why we have to shed light on this. And it’s because of our sponsors. As I say, I work with great sponsors who strive for excellence. You and your team at Bowes & Law, if somebody has been injured, you can help them. But I wanted to ask you, we haven’t talked about it for a while, social security disability. And that’s one of the things you can help people with.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, in addition to any kind of personal injury matter, the motor vehicle collisions, trip and falls, slip and falls, all the stuff we’ve talked about, we help folks that have become disabled, unable to work for any reason, obtain, if they qualify, if they’ve paid into the system. And, again, this is our own money coming back to us if we’re unable to work. If you’re a W-2 employee, you pay cash. every paycheck into the system so that this benefit is there for you if, and I hope none of the listeners need this, but if you need it and can’t work because of injury, because of illness, cancer, anything that keeps you from working, you can apply for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits. And they’re benefits that pay every month, and they keep people afloat. It’s better than nothing, I tell folks. And the key is to apply early because in the state of Colorado, I still don’t understand this. I’ve heard lots of things that don’t make a lot of sense. But in the state of Colorado, on average, 281 days to get an initial decision, a thumbs up or a thumbs down. So getting that process begun as quickly as possible, when someone realizes that that, hey, they’re going to get taken out for a while or may never go back to work, that’s the time to get the application in as quickly as possible.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and what’s the best way to reach you, John Bozen?
SPEAKER 05 :
The best way to reach me, and folks out there, if you know someone that’s come down with a bad diagnosis or injured in an accident, they’re not going to get back to work anytime soon. have them call me at 303-999-9999.
SPEAKER 16 :
And again, that’s a complimentary appointment. That’s 303-999-9999. And it is a long process, so it needs to be started as soon as possible. That is the key. That is the key, for sure. And you do amazing work at Bozen Law helping people, and I am honored to have you as a sponsor and partner of the show, John Bozen.
SPEAKER 05 :
Honored to be a sponsor, Kim. You have a great rest of your show.
SPEAKER 16 :
Thank you. And, again, that is John Bozen with Bozen Law. And these discussions happen because of all of our sponsors. And another great sponsor is the Roger Megan Sea Farm Insurance Team. Roger’s been in business for over 50 years, taking care of his clients and his family, giving back to the community. And call them for a complimentary appointment because you might be able to save some real money. If you bundle your insurance together, I’ve heard several thousand dollars of what people can save. So give them a call. That number is 303-795-8855. Like a good neighbor, the Roger Mangan team is there.
SPEAKER 15 :

SPEAKER 16 :
Welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. Be sure and check out our website. That is Kim Monson, M-O-N-S-O-N.com. And check out the USMCMemorialFoundation.org’s website. They are organizing their golf tournament. It’s one of the first ones out of the box. It will be in May. You can get early bird pricing right now. That website, again, is USMCMemorialFoundation.org. It’s a great organization to support. It’ll be a great day on the golf course. And go ahead and get that early bird pricing and save a few bucks as well. And that is usmcmemorialfoundation.org. We are talking with Mark Tapscott, and he is a senior congressional analyst at the Washington Stand. He’s also an award-winning senior congressional correspondent for the Epoch Times. He covers Congress, national politics, and policy. And he has written a very interesting piece. Good morning, Kim. How are you? Well, I am well. And these images that we see out of Minneapolis, I think, yes, last night there were protests in Los Angeles. These blue cities are really powder kegs, if you will. And the media, the mainstream media, seems to me like they’re helping. So walk us through this, Mark Tapscott.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, you’re absolutely right. It’s not that it seems the mainstream media is helping. They certainly are contributing to creating in the public mind a narrative of events that makes the ICE agents who are simply trying to find and arrest and remove people illegal immigrants, many of whom have violent criminal records, remove them from Minneapolis, you know, so that people in Minneapolis who live there can be safe. To create that kind of narrative, you have to consistently ignore a whole bunch of facts about the people and the actions that they are taking in the protests. And the bottom line is that the mainstream media is not telling the American people about a whole bunch of stuff that are facts that are documented by independent journalists that show that they protest are not spontaneous. They are professionally funded. They are professionally managed. And they are anything but spontaneous.
SPEAKER 16 :
This is a word that has been thrown around, obviously, since J6, but I would say this is an insurrection or close to. Is that too strong of a word to use, Mark Tapscott?
SPEAKER 06 :
No, I don’t think so at all. If you recall—I’m old enough to recall— Most of your listeners, I’m sure, probably are not, but I am old enough to recall the day in 1963 when then Alabama Governor George Wallace, who was determined to prevent the federal government from integrating the public schools in Alabama and the rest of the southern states, and I am a southerner, by the way, he stood literally in the schoolhouse door at the University of Alabama saying, and said, stop, you can’t come in here, and tried to prevent the federal officials from entering. That was an act of insurrection, because he was trying to prevent the enforcement of legitimate federal law. That’s exactly the same thing that the ICE protesters are doing today. They are doing everything they can to short of direct physical violence, and frequently they’re getting very close to that. They track the ICE agents. They dox them. They publish their names and details about their families. There have even been instances of groups on the far ends of the protest movement posting rewards for killing ICE agents. So, you know, this is very much, they’re trying to prevent the enforcement of federal law, and that qualifies, in my view, for the label of being an insurrection.
SPEAKER 16 :
The images that have come out, and again, I would ask people to continue to have conversations. I have several friends that have been really influenced by many of these images. So there might be an image on mainstream television. media that there is somebody that’s on their knees and you have ICE agents over them, there’s smoke in the background, and that is an image that is powerful. And it’s been very effective. I find that continuing to have these conversations, so for example, the piece that you have written is so important because it’s taken a little bit of time for the truth to start to catch up with, as you said, this well professionally funded and professionally organized movement that is out there right now. And I had someone that… texted me or mentioned yesterday, it said the Bolsheviks were able to take over Russia with only 17,000 people. And so we’ve got a small group of people here that I think is really trying to take America down. Another one of my friends, several friends have said, we are so divided. And I said, well, it is very difficult to unite with people that want to destroy our country and ultimately may want to kill us. There’s no way to unite with that.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah, why would you want to compromise with somebody whose ultimate goal is to put you in a concentration camp or worse? You know, I’ll wait three weeks before I go to the concentration camp. That’s not real life. That’s not realistic. It’s very interesting, this whole process of how, and I know exactly what you mean, Kim, because I hear the same thing from people. they will mention a particular visual that they’ve seen, and based on that one moment in time, reach a conclusion about the entire situation. And that’s, by definition, relying on inadequate information to understand reality. But that’s what we see happening, and that’s one of the ways that the mainstream media is so able and so successful at shaping the narrative.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and so and they’re shaping the narrative that these are I would I would say that this is a narrative of immigrants that have come here illegally, but they want the American dream and there are neighbors and immigrants. this is really mean what’s going on when in essence these people that are and I think that many of these people then in the streets there are the instigators but then there’s also pawns and I think that I think that many people are looking for a cause. They’re looking for meaning in their life. And so they have latched on to this of, I am protecting… This is in their minds, I think. I am protecting the immigrant. I am protecting the downtrodden. There’s even a self-righteousness in that. And so that is then being used as pawns, I think, in this whole thing, Mark Tapscott.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yeah. You know, a good example of that… You know, America, we were all immigrants. We came from immigrants. And that’s true. Historically, that is true. You know, the folks that came from Britain and parts of Europe to come to America, they were all immigrants. That doesn’t justify being an illegal immigrant today. You know, it’s like Ronald Reagan said a long time ago, if we don’t have borders, we don’t have a nation. And every one of these folks who are here illegally, and, you know, it’s true, many of them I have no doubt, you know, work hard. They’re just trying to take care of their families and so forth. But the bottom line is they came here illegally. And that by itself, irrespective of any other factor, justifies their being deported. Barack Obama, frankly, you know, you look at the numbers, he’s way ahead of Donald Trump in terms of the numbers of illegal immigrants that he deported by quite a margin so far.
SPEAKER 16 :
And, well, what I’ve said to, again, these conversations are important to have, but I’ve said if people have come here illegally and they want to hurt us, they need to go.
SPEAKER 06 :
They need to go, absolutely.
SPEAKER 16 :
If people have come here and they are criminals in their country or if they are doing criminal acts in America, they’ve got to go. And if people are coming here, well, two other things. If people are coming here to live off of the American taxpayer, they’ve got to go. And if people are here that have come here, even if they come here with refugee or asylee status and they are defrauding America, they’ve got to go. And most people can agree with that, Mark Tapscott.
SPEAKER 06 :
When they have an accurate… understanding of what is involved in what you just said. And let me just add to it a bit. There are at least, according to the intelligence stuff that I’ve read, there are at least 30,000 or so young military age Chinese men who came in illegally during the Biden administration. Now, why would 30,000 military-age young Chinese men come in at that particular time? Why are they here? What are they here for? Where are they? There’s an awful lot of those folks that federal authorities don’t know where they are. They know they’re still here or presume they’re still here. Why are they here? Something needs to be done about that.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and I did mention to one of my friends is ultimately there are people that are here that that really want to kill us. And I think that I think that this kind of pie in the sky narrative of, as you said, the professionally funded and organized group that really wants to take America down. I don’t think that they—we have lived such blessed, safe lives that I think it’s difficult for people to imagine that there are those out there that really do want to hurt other people. But when you mention 30,000 young, military-age Chinese men in our country, and we know that China wants to take America down, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots, Mark.
SPEAKER 06 :
No, it doesn’t. And there are an unknown number of young guys who are military age from Middle Eastern countries that came in illegally. You have to assume that at least some number of them are Iranian operatives. And they certainly don’t intend any good for any of us here in America. But they’re here. And where are they? I’m sure the government, the federal government, knows where a number of them are, but there are a number of them that they don’t know where they’re at or what they’re doing. So, you know, I hate to sound like an alarmist, but we have to face reality. We don’t know how many million people came into this country illegally in the four years that Joe Biden was in the Oval Office. And whatever you think about Biden, that’s the reality. And now we today have to deal with it.
SPEAKER 16 :
So we’re going to continue this discussion. This is such an important piece by Mark Tapscott that was published at the Washington stand. Mainstream media has refused to report the full facts on ICE protests, so Americans must rely on ex-indies. I did want to mention a couple of things. We’re talking with Mark Tapscott. He’s an award-winning senior congressional correspondent for the Epoch Times. He covers Congress, national politics, and policy. He’s also a senior congressional analyst at the Washington Stand. He published this piece recently. Mainstream media refused to report the full facts on ICE protests, so Americans must rely on ex-indies. First of all, let’s ask about these indies on X and how important they are, Mark Tapscott.
SPEAKER 06 :
I’m sorry, Kim. Can you repeat that question? I have somebody talking in my ear.
SPEAKER 16 :
Not a problem. I understand. So you said that people need to look at, so on X, we’ve got a lot of these independent people that are really shedding light on this story. It’s taken some time, but we’re starting to get some truth from this, yes? Yes.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, absolutely. Yeah, the one that really got me focused on these is a guy named Cam Higby on X. And I want to meet this guy in person because he actually infiltrated the Signal organization, which is the group that is organizing and directing these protests. And he You know, he has posted on his address all kinds of documents and emails and text messages that he’s been able to get access to, internal stuff from the Signal organization, and posted it. And you read this stuff, and, you know, this is not a spontaneous operation. This is a very well-organized… systematic and tactically very sophisticated operation. And he’s the guy that exposed it. And you look at it and you read this stuff, and if you’re like me, I’ve been, depending on the mainstream media for more years than I care to remember, why didn’t the New York Times do this? Why didn’t the Washington Post do this? Why didn’t the Denver Post do this? You know, it took an independent guy like Cam Higbee, no doubt at some risk, financially and personally, to do what he’s done. And he’s just one of them. There’s a number of the others that I think if there was such a thing as a Pulitzer Prize for independent journalists, they should all get it.
SPEAKER 16 :
And so that’s Cam Higbee on X. Check that out. But what’s interesting, this is so organized. And I connected this. I’ve got this volunteer gig as president of the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. And we take positions. Excellent. and a shout out to the whole team all volunteers watching this legislation which is difficult but it’s important and we’ve created this thing called cut engaged and people can weigh in on this particular bill right now it’ll take you maybe 30 seconds and it is Senate Bill 26005, and it’s titled Rights Violation and Immigration Enforcement Remedy. This undercuts ICE in Colorado, and this is a piece of legislation. This is all connected, Mark Chapscott, and it’s all being pushed by radical activists, On the left, I’ve said this Democrat Party is not the Democrat Party of JFK or your grandpa or grandma. This is a radical activist that’s taken over this and really ultimately wants to destroy America, I think.
SPEAKER 06 :
I absolutely agree with you on that, Kim. And I would point out that your listeners may have heard or read in recent days about Larry Krasner, who is the district attorney in Philadelphia. He was one of the very first radical left-wing district attorney types that George Soros funded and basically got elected. Now there’s a whole bunch of them. There’s a couple of dozen of them across the country. He is rallying these other people who are district attorneys and prosecutors like himself I think one of them is there in Denver. I’m not sure of that, but I think so. Yeah, I think so too. Yeah. They’re literally, as Krasner said, if we have to hunt you down, we will find you and we will prosecute you. Of course, what are they talking about when they say we’re going to prosecute them? Well, what are they doing? The ICE guys are enforcing the law, but Larry Krasner is going to prosecute them? reinforcing the law, that tells you how absurd the position is of the protesters in this situation.
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and these blue cities, I had read an article, and then I couldn’t find it, that said that basically there’s nine cities in the United States. Maybe it was in your piece, I’m not sure, but there’s nine cities, okay, that are at tremendous risk.
SPEAKER 06 :
Actually, it’s nine counties, and they all just happen to be connected. Either they’re suburban areas connected to big, deep blue cities, or they are, in fact, in deep blue cities. There’s nine of them. There are 3,134 other counties in this country. none of whom are sanctuary cities like all nine of these counties are associated with sanctuary cities. So the point there is, and another one of these independent journalists on X, a guy named Kevin Bass, is the one who dug this out and reported it. Those nine counties probably are the only places. There may be a few others someplace else in the country, but probably not. Those nine counties are the only ones where we’re going to see these kinds of protests because, you know, people outside of these nine deep blue areas, they still see reality and say, no, why would we not want hardened criminals removed?
SPEAKER 16 :
Well, and Denver is one of those counties that you mentioned.
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 16 :
and so so next thing mark taps got such important information here and this somebody gave me gave this to me this might have been pre-covered during covid but well it would have been probably during the biden administration we’ll just put it that way and this was something that they found on a table at a mexican restaurant And it says, Colorado stands with immigrants. No mass deportations. Report suspected ICE activity. There’s an 800 number. It’s called Colorado Rapid Response Network Hotline. And it says, know your rights. Don’t open for ICE. Don’t talk to ICE. You have the right to a lawyer. Of course, you wonder who’s paying for that. And so this moves to, I was talking to a couple of our young producers. And they said, and now Donald Trump is taking people out of their homes without warrants. And, of course, a warrant is in the Constitution, a warrant to get from a judge to go out and arrest someone. And so I did a little bit more research, and it wasn’t that it was no warrant, but it was called an administrative warrant. And so then when I brought that up, they said, well, yeah, but, you know, you don’t have to get that from a judge. But I did more information. There’s constraints on this administrative warrant. My mind goes to, gosh, if you’ve got… somebody from the O’Biden-Harris administration in the White House, and the radical activists said that they’re going to come after people. I don’t want them to have an administrative warrant to come after me. So I’m torn on this. What’s your thoughts on this?
SPEAKER 06 :
Actually, it’s interesting you mention that, Kim, because I’m with you. I’m a bit torn on that from a strictly legalist constitutional position. From a practical position, immigration law from the very beginning has always been an administrative process. And all these people who are objecting to what the ICE folks are doing using administrative warrants today, they weren’t objecting when Biden, who did actually deport some during his four years, based on administrative warrants. I didn’t hear them protesting when Barack Obama deported 300,000 people using administrative warrants. You know, or three million, excuse me, not 300,000. You know, why is it now all of a sudden they’re objecting to it? Well, I think the answer to that question is pretty obvious. The difference is it’s Trump doing it today. And You know, Trump derangement syndrome is pervasive among these people in the anti-ICE movement.
SPEAKER 16 :
And so ultimately, though, these people are… Well, one other thing is we’ve had Chris Harrison, who is a retired border agent from the San Diego sector. And he said that in… It used to be with immigration enforcement, you had a criminal… They were going to be let out of jail. The authorities at the jail let ICE know. ICE picked them up, sent them out, and took care of it. Now, in these blue cities, what’s happening is they are releasing these criminals into the community, I think by design, to foment all of this unrest. ICE now has to go knock on doors to get these people out. And then it used to be so that then the narrative that, oh, there’s people that haven’t done any crime are being deported as well. Well, Chris said that if you come in, if ICE comes in and they are getting the criminal and cousin who hasn’t done any crime but is here illegally, if they’re with the criminal, they go, too. So that’s it. That’s how that’s all happening. And so there may be a very small percentage of, you know, just somebody that just came illegally and wants to go after the American dream. But I think that’s a pretty small percentage. And I’m not willing for that small percentage to let all these other criminals and people that want to hurt us and take free stuff and defraud us. They have to go. They just have to go, Mark Tapscott. Your final thought on this? This is a fascinating conversation.
SPEAKER 06 :
Well, we have a very clear choice between reality on the one hand, which is we have hundreds of thousands of hardened criminals who are here illegally and who need to be, as you say, they need to go, versus the mainstream media’s mythical narrative that, no, the hardened criminals are not the problem. The problem are the federal agents who are trying to remove the hardened criminals. That’s a pretty obvious choice to me. I’m going to choose reality every time.
SPEAKER 16 :
Mark Tapscott, I agree with you. And again, I recommend that people check out this piece at the Washington Stand. Mainstream media refused to report the full facts on ICE protests, so Americans must rely on ex-indies. Mark, we’ll have to talk again soon. This has been fascinating. Thank you so much.

SPEAKER 16 :
And welcome back to the Kim Monson Show. It is February, and it is George Washington’s birthday this month. And so one of our listeners, Lisa, had the great idea. She said, let’s do some inspirational things regarding George Washington, talk about his life. And so we are doing that. And I think I blew through the quote of the day in the second segment. And George Washington said this. He said, make sure you are doing what God wants you to do, then do it with all your strength. And we’re going through, there’s been five different occasions, or there were five different occasions, where George Washington dodged bullets. And we’re talking about this next one here, and this is at the Battle of Monongahela. And hold on here, gotta make sure I have all my, oops. Okay, here we go. And this is from American Heritage. It said, Washington’s next and almost miraculous escape took place in the full eye of history. The French and Indian War was underway and the British crown had sent to America two regular regiments under the command of General Edward Braddock. Braddock’s mission was to march from Virginia through the wilderness to the falls of the Ohio, which is now Pittsburgh, and capture the French Fort Duquesne from which Indian raids on the Virginia and Maryland frontiers were being staged. As a volunteer aide to Braddock, Washington contended that it would be madness to fight Indians who skulked behind trees with the wide and deep blocks of soldiers that moved ponderously but effectively on the open fields of Europe. Braddock enjoyed arguing with the bumptious young provincial, Washington was 22, but paid no attention to what the youth advised. The British engineers cut a continuous 12-foot clearing through the wilderness down which the troops could march in formation. They had penetrated to within a few miles of Fort Duquesne when multiple shots sounded from the flanking woods. No enemy could be seen, but in bloody contortions, the redcoats were falling. The British regulars can conceive of no way to fight except in formation, and thus the officers tried desperately to keep their men lined up under the rain of fire. Indignantly, Braddock refused Washington’s request that he be allowed to lead the provincial troops into the woods and engage the enemy in their own way. The slaughter was terrific, and the officers towering on horseback above the Malay were for the Indians the best targets. One after another, they went down. Washington’s horse was shot from under him. He leaped on another. Bullets tore his coat. Braddock toppled over. Washington’s second horse crumbled. His hat was shot off. However, as he wrote, the miraculous care of Providence protected me beyond all human expectations. He survived unscratched to lead the remnant of Braddock’s army away from the pile of bloody bodies and into comparative safety. So we can take great heart from this. A couple things to comment on this, and then I’ve got something to share regarding an encounter with an Indian chief many, many years later. But one is regarding Washington’s coat. A listener reached out to say that his coat is actually at Mount Vernon. I’ve been to Mount Vernon, but I don’t recall seeing that, but I don’t think I really knew the story at that particular point in time. And then also, Washington… learned from this, the Battle of Monongahela, and the Indians, and this was kind of the first guerrilla warfare. And that is really how the colonists defeated the Brits. This was very frustrating for the British, that the Americans would be behind trees, shooting at them, and then they’d retreat. That was the first, probably, use of guerrilla warfare, which I would surmise that Washington realized how effective that was at the Battle of Monongahela with the Indians. And then this is from Mount Vernon dot org. It says the Indian prophecy is a legend told about George Washington’s miraculous survival at the Battle of Monongahela and a subsequent encounter he had with an indigenous chief. A variant version is sometimes known as the bulletproof president. The tale is credited to Washington’s doctor and friend James Craik. and the fullest version was published by Washington’s step-grandson, George Washington Park Custis, in the 1820s. Custis recalls that during a 1770 trip to what is now West Virginia, Craig and Washington encountered an Indian chief who had fought against them during the Battle of Monongahela on 9 July 1755. The chief revealed that during the fight, he had ordered his men to kill Washington, but that all their shots had missed. He declared that a power mightier far than we shielded Washington from harm. He then predicted that Washington would become the chief of nations and a people yet unborn will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire. And the core of this story has been in circulation since at least 1800. We can take great inspiration and hope that the divine provider had his hand on America at our founding. We are in the third founding of our country, and we are under an attack now, as we talked with Mark Tapscott. This is an organized insurrection. It didn’t just happen. They’ve been organizing this throughout the Obama-Harris Biden-Harris administration and before. And Americans are uncomfortable with these images that the mainstream media is putting out. I get that. I don’t like those images either. I also don’t really like the idea of a warrantless, excuse me, an administrative warrant. However, it is… And there are constraints, and I’m going to do some more research on that so that we can understand what those constraints are, because I’m concerned if the radical activists ever take over in the presidency, then they’re going to be rounding up everyday Americans who’ve been speaking out like us on a regular basis. But the other thing is, and I’ve thought a lot about this, if we are afraid to use our voices because of what might happen to us, it’s not going to get better it’s only going to get worse and george washington had said that if we’d lose our freedom of speech then we uh… go like lambs to the slaughter and so we’ve got to continue to speak up that’s why we do the show And so these warrantless, no, no, let me change that. These administrative warrants, we’re going to do some more research on it because as we can see from this flyer that was at a Mexican restaurant, if ICE shows up, they don’t open the door, then the criminal illegal alien can escape and they’re back into the community. So what do we do about it? Well, the other thing is, and I didn’t get to this, but there is a report in West Virginia where local law enforcement was cooperating with ICE. They were able to get criminals, arrest them, deport them. There was nothing that… You know, that happened. And so these nine counties, as Mark Tapscott mentioned, Denver is one of them. They are trying to foment violence and destruction. And ultimately and then we see at the state legislature with this Senate bill as well that wants to make it. and make it a target on ice i will just say that we are in a very dangerous time here in colorado that’s why all the work that we’re doing here colorado union taxpayers be sure and support all of that but this is a quote from george washington when there is no vision there is no hope And we’ve got to continue with the vision of the divine provider and continue every day to work to preserve and conserve this great American idea for ourselves and for our posterity. So, my friends, today, be grateful, read great books, think good thoughts, listen to beautiful music, communicate and listen well, live honestly and authentically, strive for high ideals, and like Superman, stand for truth, justice, and the American way. My friends, you are not alone. God bless you, and God bless America.
