This episode further explores our purpose beyond servitude or worship, emphasizing that we were created by love, for love. Cherry Campbell guides us through a revelatory journey into our identity as God’s family, distinct from angels who serve and worship. This is a call to understand our higher calling as children of God, as Cherry brilliantly clarifies that our existence stems from God’s desire to express love. Tune in for an inspiring message that will redefine your understanding of purpose by unfolding the true nature of our relationship with the divine.

SPEAKER 02 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I began sharing with you yesterday that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called The Story of the Glory. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, The Story of the Glory. Then God said, let us, and right there, us again is confirming the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Plural. Let us make man in our image. So where was the image? He was the image. He was the image. So this is not just an image in my mind. I’m going to imagine a bear, big, burly, fat, I mean, huge animal with claws and big teeth, or a giraffe with a long neck, and he’s getting all these images in his mind. Giraffe, an anteater, orangutan. He didn’t come up with something in his mind. Instead… I myself, I will be the image for man. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so man is made in God’s image. God is the image. God says, I have something far greater for man. He’s going to look like me. I have a plan for man. He’s going to look like me. And that’s why I love to teach this, you know, and I can, with absolute definite proof, go to India and say, God does not look like an elephant with six arms. God does not look like a monkey. You know, they have 300 million gods. And one of them is an elephant with six arms. One of them is a monkey. God does not look like a monkey. God does not look like an elephant. In other parts of the Pacific Islands, God is an alligator. God is a big fish. I mean, people have made all kinds of animals to be their God, and yet God never said, I will make an alligator in my image. No, he said, let us make man in our image. So you want to know what God looks like? Look in the mirror. God looks like you and me. We look like God. Hallelujah. God looks like us. So that’s why we can absolutely definitively say God is not an elephant. God is not an alligator. God is not a monkey. He looks like us. He has two arms. He actually has two hands. He has five fingers on both hands. He has two legs, two feet with five toes on both feet. You think it’s not that literal. Do you think? Yes. I believe the Bible is completely literal. And not only that, but you have scriptures at the Bible talking about the hand of the Lord, the hand of the Lord. And God has made his enemies, his footstool, put him under his feet. Well, in order to go under his feet, he has to have feet to put his enemies under his feet. He has to have feet. And for him to have a mighty outstretched hand, he’s got to have a hand. Amen. And the eyes of the Lord look throughout the earth. Well, all animals have eyes. But yeah. So the Bible shows the different physical parts that God has. His head, his hands, his feet, his legs, everything. And so we can know by scripture that God has these parts. These are literal. So if you want to know what God looks like, look in the mirror. But we are all a little different. I mean, we have a big nose, little nose, big ears, little ears. You have widespread eyes, narrow eyes. You know, everybody looks a little different, but we are all of the same race, same species called man. So with different color eyes, different color hair, big ears, small ears, big nose, little nose, whatever. If you want to know exactly what God looks like, you know what to do? Look at Jesus. Look at Jesus. I want to show you. Let us go to the New Testament and go to Colossians chapter one. Hallelujah. Colossians chapter one. And we’ll start reading in verse 13 and go through verse 15. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the son he loves. So right there we get Jesus is the subject. This is Jesus. In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Verse 15 starts with he. He is who? Jesus. He is thee. Now, in my translation, he is the image. Now, we’re going to do a tracing of the word image. We started with Genesis 126. God said, let us make man in our what? Image. In our image. Now, the King James, how does it read it there? Verse 15. Yep, same thing. He is the image of the invisible God. It says it the same way. So right there, you can circle the word image because you can trace it and put a cross reference, if you want, to Genesis 126. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. So God is invisible, but Jesus is not. And Jesus is not invisible. We cannot look on God because of his glory. Nobody can look on God and live because of the brightness of his glory. So he is hidden actually in glory, but he made Jesus to be the visible image of the invisible God. He is the image. So you want to know exactly what God looks like. What color are his eyes? How big is his ears and his nose? What shape is his chin? Look at Jesus. Jesus is the image of God. And Jesus is a man. So that’s another confirmation that we are in the image of God. Because Jesus is the image of God. Now let me give you another one. Hebrews chapter 1. Hebrews chapter 1. And verse three, this son, that’s Jesus, is the radiance of God’s glory. And the King James here uses the word express, but that’s outdated language express. The modern translation, the word is exact. He is the exact radiance. representation. He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. So not only is he a little bit like God, he is the exact representation of God. Amen. So Jesus is the exact representation of his being of God’s being. And then also 2 Corinthians 4, 4, which starts out saying the God of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. So there you can trace the word image in 2 Corinthians 4, 4, Christ, who is the image of God. So you want to know exactly what God looks like. Look at Jesus. Jesus is the exact image of God. But we are all brothers and sisters of Christ, sons of God. And I mean, that makes sense anyway. How can can a person give birth to a dog? Can a person give birth to an alligator? So if we are born of God, how could we not look like him? Amen. Right. If we’re born of God, how can we not look like God? He is our father. We are born and made in his image. So we’ve established the fact then very solidly that we are made in the image of God. Now, let me ask this question. Why did God make man? Why did God make man? And the most common answer that the traditional Christian gets or gives, I should say, and I’ve heard this many, many, many times. If you have not been taught this already, Christians say, why did God make man? And most people will say to serve him. Or another thing people say when we say, why did God make man either to serve him or to worship him? Now, I’ve heard worship leaders say we were made to worship him. We are supposed to worship him. We are supposed to serve him. But that’s not our primary purpose. Our purpose and calling is much higher than that. Let me take you back to this. Worship him and serve him, which are the primary answers most people will give. We were made to worship him. We were made to serve him. Let me ask you this question. What do the angels do? What do angels do in heaven? They worship him and they serve him. And the Bible says that there are thousands upon thousands of angels, 10,000 times 10,000, and that there’s an innumerable company of angels. And he made the angels before man. So if there’s innumerable angels and he made the angels before man and the angels primary purpose and calling, they worship God and they serve God. Why would he have to make another creature to do the same? It’s not necessary. So our highest calling is not to worship and serve. That is part of what we do. Look at Jesus. He said, I do what I see my father do. I say what I hear my father say. So he served the father. So we know that God made man for a higher purpose, for a higher call than to worship and to serve him. So what was that? We were actually created to be the sons of God. God wanted a family. And the angels could never be family. The angels cannot relate to God on God’s level. They cannot communicate with God on God’s level. Of course, they have great knowledge and so forth, but they are created as a lower species. And God wanted family. Well, let me boil it down to this. God is love. God is love. Love is never satisfied until it is expressed. What if you are all consuming love and you’re all alone? You want a child so you can pour your love out, express your love. So we see that God created us in his image for love. In other words, you were created by love for love. God is love. You are created by love himself. So love himself created you and gave you birth in his own image. You are born and created in the image of love with the God capacity to love. And especially when you’re born again, because when you’re not born again, you have more of the nature of the devil in you. But when you’re born again, you get the nature of God back. And what is it? The nature of love. And so we do have to train the flesh, crucify the flesh and develop new habits. But on the inside, we are again made in the image of love for love. So we’re made by love for love to express love. So praise God. Love is our highest purpose. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in one of our victorious faith services called the story of the glory. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow. And remember, God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
