Cherry Campbell shares a compelling narrative about visions, revelations, and the authority of scripture in her series ‘What is the Word?’ In this fourth message, listeners are invited to explore the lessons learned by Kenneth E. Hagin, who insisted on scriptural confirmation for spiritual insights. Cherry passionately advocates for faith in the written word alone, weaving in practical advice about discerning true revelations from imitated ones, ultimately encouraging believers to rely on scripture as their guide.
SPEAKER 01 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherry Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message I’ve been sharing with you in the last several broadcasts that I preached in a series of messages in our Victorious Faith services called, What is the Word? And this is message four in that series called, What is the Word? Light, Life, and Health. So join me now in our live service for the continuation of this message, number four, What is the Word? Light, Life, and Health. Scripture. Scripture. That’s the written word. You must understand that no scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation or his own imagination. And it goes on to say, but they were moved by the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit came upon them. And so he’s comparing this, the word of the prophets. And then here he calls it the prophecy of scripture. We have the prophecy of scripture more sure, more certain than seeing the glorious vision of Jesus in front of your eyes. Jesus glorified the voice from heaven saying, this is my son. Don’t look to that as strongly as you look to the written scripture. It is more sure. And so he’s saying that we saw it, we heard it, and the written word is more sure than hearing the audible voice of God or seeing a vision, even seeing Jesus. In a vision. The written word. Is more powerful. Let me share this. Brother Kenneth E. Hagen. He’s now in heaven. Had many visions. At least seven. Of Jesus. Coming to speak to him. And give him revelation. Because he was a forerunner. Of the revelation that I have. The teaching of faith. And authority. And. He was a forerunner and his authority, especially I remember visions that God, Jesus was telling him about his authority and that kind of thing and how faith works. And so Jesus appeared to him and in a vision multiple times to teach him. And one time Jesus said something to him. I think it was that teaching about authority. And when Brother Hagin was in a service, actually, and I think he just told everybody to pray because there was such a strong anointing. When he was praying, he got a vision of Jesus. Jesus stood in front of him. But there was this little demon, kind of like a monkey-ish type demon, and jumping up and down, squawking, squawking, making noise, just making all kinds of racket that came and stood between him and Jesus. And so he was making so much noise and causing so much distraction and so loud that he drowned out the monkey, the demon drowned out Jesus voice. And brother Hagen is standing there with this demon between him and Jesus. And he’s having this vision of Jesus. Jesus is talking to him. And he could see Jesus’ mouth was still moving. Jesus was still talking, but he couldn’t hear what he was saying because the demon was making too much racket and was drowning out Jesus’ voice. And so Brother Hagin is standing there thinking, Jesus, why don’t you do something about this? I can’t hear what you’re saying. I don’t want to miss it. I don’t want to lose what you’re saying. Do something about this demon. And Jesus kept on talking. He could see his mouth moving, but he was missing it. He wasn’t hearing it. The demon was making too much racket. After several moments or minutes, I don’t know, he got so frustrated. He said, in the name of Jesus, I rebuke you. Get out of here in Jesus’ name. And the demon just whimpered and just kind of like a little whipped dog and scurried out of the building. Whimpered and scurried out. And it was clear and silent. And Jesus spoke to him and said, if you hadn’t done anything about that, I couldn’t have. Brother Hagin said, I think I misunderstood you, but I’m sure you said, if I hadn’t done anything, you wouldn’t have. Jesus said, no. If you hadn’t done anything, I couldn’t. And then brother Hagen said, now I know I’m standing here seeing a vision of you, Jesus, but I want to see that in scripture. Jesus just got a grin on his face because he was pleased. It did not insult him one bit because Jesus is the word. that he wanted it in scripture. And Brother Hagin said, I don’t know one scripture that says that. And Jesus said, there’s a lot in the word you don’t know. Or no, Brother Hagin said, if that scripture’s in there, I don’t know it. And then Jesus said, if there’s a lot in there, you don’t know. And then Jesus gave him four scriptures of his authority. I think it was on the authority. It might have been on another subject, but I’m thinking it was on authority, but I could be mistaken. But anyway, whatever subject it was on. Jesus gave him four scriptures written here, here, here, here, and here. And then brother Hagen said, ah, now I see it. Now I see it. But notice Jesus was pleased. Kenneth Hagen had a vision of Jesus standing in front of him, talking to him, told him something that he didn’t know in the word. And Brother Hagin said, I need to get the word. Give me the scripture on it. It did not upset Jesus. It pleased Jesus. In other words, a vision of Jesus. If you have a vision of Jesus or an angel that tells you something contrary to the scripture. Don’t believe it. Even if it’s Jesus. Yes, because Satan can appear as an angel of light. And he can take on images even of people. People say, well, I saw a dead person. Well, you didn’t see the dead person. Their spirit is either in heaven or hell. If they’ve left the earth, they do not remain. If they’ve passed away, they’d go either to heaven or hell. But you see demons who manifest in the form of people. And they can look exactly like that person. They can talk exactly like that person. Anyway, any kind of vision you have, if you see an angel or even Jesus, if they tell you something that is contrary to the scripture, don’t believe it. And every revelation, every truth must be confirmed. There’s several scriptures that say by two or more witnesses, one scripture. does not establish a doctrine. Cannot. One scripture cannot establish a doctrine. The Bible says there has to be two or more witnesses. And so every doctrine has to be based on at least two or more scriptures. And so Jesus gave him four. The more scriptures you have, the more solid a doctrine is. And so don’t believe something unless it is confirmed by at least two, but preferably even many more scriptures. So don’t be asking God. Also, don’t be asking God to give you a dream or a vision. Because all you need is the written word. I mean, I’ve done it at times, but I’ve not pushed for it. Oh, Lord, I just love to have a vision right now. I mean, just show me something. Or give me a dream tonight. I say it, but not pushing for it. Because if you press for it, Satan can answer you. He can come appear to you in your dream or vision and appear as an angel of light. That is even how some of the false religions have started. The person had a vision, which they thought was a revelation from heaven. But it was from the devil and it started a false religion. And John 20, 29. Remember this. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen. In other words, not with your physical eyes. Don’t require to see with your physical eyes or to hear the audible voice with your physical ears. Because those things can be imitated by Satan and by demonic spirits. But what Satan cannot imitate is revelation. Visions and dreams, voices, appearances can be imitated very, very seemingly perfectly, but close, but not perfect, but by demons and by the devil. So you can be deceived into thinking this is God. This is Jesus. This is the Holy Spirit. They are very good imitators. So visions and dreams, voices imitated. can be imitations by the devil. But what the devil cannot imitate is revelation. And, you know, you take multiple scriptures that all confirm something solidly with the meaning, with true interpretation of the Holy Spirit, of scripture, that will keep you on the safe road. The greatest faith is faith in the word alone. We have to live by the word. Test everything by the word of God. Dreams, visions, prophecies, and teachings. Every teaching you hear, even mine, everybody else’s, find it in the word. Are they giving you the word? Acts 17, 11. Paul was teaching in Berea. And I love this verse. I’ve loved it since I was a youth. I marked it as a youth. Now the Bereans, they were in Berea, were of more noble character than the Thessalonians. See, Paul was driven out of Thessalonica. He was driven out with stones. He went to Berea and began teaching. And the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and, and, and examined the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. See, a teacher who’s truly teaching the word will be glad, right? When you say, show that to me in the word and you go study the word to see if it’s there. That gives a teacher great pleasure who is really teaching the word. What you just heard was the continuation of a message that I preached in a series of messages in our victorious faith services called, What is the Word? And this is message four in that series called, What is the Word? Light, Life, and Health. And we will continue this message again tomorrow. So join me again tomorrow and remember God loves you. You are blessed and highly favored by the Lord.
