SPEAKER 02 :
Good morning. Welcome to Victorious Faith. I’m Cherri Campbell. This morning, I’m going to continue sharing with you the message that I’ve been sharing with you for the last several broadcasts that I preached in one of our Victorious Faith services called The Power of the Blood of Jesus. So join me now in our live service for part four of The Power of the Blood of Jesus. Then I learned then it’s faith in the blood and its power to wash and cleanse me. Not the power of my sin. Nothing, no sin is more powerful than the blood. Hallelujah. The blood is a super stain remover. Praise the Lord. So anyway, the blood, the power of the blood to cleanse. Number two, the power of the blood provides healing. First Peter 2.24, he himself bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might die to sin again. and live for righteousness, by his stripes you were healed. Or by his wounds you have been healed. By his wounds, because of the shedding of the blood in the wounds, and by the very fact of the redemption, or the substitution, he took your place. So that’s why the wounds, and that includes the whipping post, where he was beaten to a pulp. And I have that message on the teaching of the resurrection, what happened from the cross to the throne. But the historical records of what happened to a person, they were basically killed at the whipping post, if they could be. And their flesh was ripped from their bones. The cat-of-nine-tails was loaded with either glass or lead to rip the flesh off of the body. They would be stripped of their muscles. Even the inner intestines were exposed. And most died at the whipping post. So, being whipped and shredded to pieces, even as… And they knew how to whip around the front, grab the chest, rip off the chest, rip off the stomach muscles, and expose everything on the inside there. And then go for the face, knock out the eyeballs and the teeth and the nose, rip it off the face. And so that was the kind of beatings that the Romans gave at the whipping post. That was their norm. They were bloodthirsty in their nature, in their culture. And they didn’t want to have to go on. And I mean, they’re on duty here. They’d like to get this job over with. So the sooner the person dies, then they can go home and drink. You know, whatever. So they’re not trying to make this easy. Jesus was not whipped by Jews who have 39 lashes or 40 minus 1. No, he was whipped by Romans who make it an art. And they’re bloodthirsty. And so those whippings plus the spear, plus the crown of thorns, plus the nails, all of it together was substitutionary. What Jesus did was substitutionary. was substitutionary, meaning he did it so that we wouldn’t have to. He bore those whippings, beatings, flesh torn apart, nails, spear, crown of thorns. It was a substitutionary act. Just like his life was the lamb sacrificed for sin, his body was also sacrificed for healing. So that in every one of those things, cancer was laid on him. AIDS was laid on him. Diabetes, coronavirus was laid on him. Every sickness and disease, every pain. was laid on him and that’s where you can go to Isaiah 53 and I teach that in the series on healing but that he was carrying on himself all disease at one time as a substitute That was the substitutionary work. So not only was he the lamb sacrificed for sin, but his body was literally beaten and mutilated for disease and sicknesses of all people and to be healed so that they were laid on him. So we would be healed. And therefore, that’s why it’s also not good for us to be sick, because otherwise, what was he beaten for? Why was he whipped at the whipping post if we’re going to still be sick? That’s what he did it for. And that’s why I like to say this to people. People ask, Lord, is it your will for me to be healed? All right, now just picture Jesus tied to this whipping post, bowed over, and the Romans have just whipped him to pieces with the cat-of-nine-tails and ripped off his flesh, and his, you know, intestines could be exposed or whatever, and inner muscles are exposed, skin is removed. and then on the cross, nails, and then, do you want me healed? And you look at him on that post, and he’s going to look up at you and say, why am I doing this? What am I here for? If it was only to be a lamb sacrificed for sin, he only had to go to the cross. He could have missed the mutilation of the flesh, the beatings. the beatings by his wounds you have been healed that’s what the woundings were for was for healing hallelujah hallelujah so it’s almost an insult to say Lord do you want me healed is it your will and so many Christians are saying you need to I’ve had even in my teaching on healing I’m thankful I don’t get many bad emails once in a while I do And I’ve had one write to me about the healing thing is you must always ask if it be thy will. Well, Jesus didn’t always pray if it be thy will. There are only certain occasions for if it be thy will and that is to find the will of God for the plan of your life. Not want something that’s already settled and done by the word. Not something already settled and done and finished by the cross. It’s already done. So it’s no longer a question. It’s settled forever in heaven. And if it’s already settled, there’s no question. Things that are done, which are all in the redemptive work of Christ. It’s a finished work. There’s no more question. Should he be saved? Yes. Should he be forgiven of sin? Yes. Should he be healed? Yes. Should he be rich? Yes. They were all part of redemptive work of what Jesus took on the cross. It’s over. Why did he do it? So, in other words, he’s bowed over at this whipping post and he’s bleeding and his flesh is ripped off and he’s got blood running all over him. And say, Lord Jesus, do you want me healed? He’s looking at you. Why am I doing this? Why am I here? This is for you to be healed. I’m taking it so you don’t have to. And so, anyway, the blood is for our healing. The blood is for our healing. 1 Peter 2.24, He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree so that we might, God is saying, live for righteousness and by His wounds. you have been healed. His woundings, you’re healing. By his wounds, you have been healed. His wounds, you’re healed. We need to get that in our mind. His wounds, we’re healed. He took it, so we don’t. Praise the Lord. So there is healing in the blood. Leviticus 17.11 says the life of the flesh is in the blood. Now we’re going to take communion after a little bit. And this is so important with what we’re going to do in communion. For the life of the flesh is in the blood. And I love to go to John chapter 6. I do this when I take communion. I like to read John 6, 53 to 57. Jesus said to them, I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Now, we’re going to look in a moment at the blood applied on the doorposts in Exodus, in Egypt, and But I heard it just today. In the Old Testament, they applied the blood externally. In the New Testament, we drink the blood internally. In the Old Testament, they applied the blood externally. You know, even Moses, when God told him how to anoint the priest and the Levite, he said, take the blood and put it on their right earlobe, their right thumb, and their right big toe. It was external. And then, you know, we read about in Hebrews 10 what Moses did. He took the hyssop and sprinkled and dipped it in blood and sprinkled the people. And so, literally, you go to church, you’re going to get blood on you in the Old Testament. Go to the temple, you’re going to get blood thrown on you and you’re going to be cleaning yourself off when you go home of blood. The blood was applied externally. In the New Testament, we drink the blood in the communion cup. As we’re going to see in a moment, but let me go back to John 6, 53. Jesus said to them, I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Now, they couldn’t understand that. Here he had a big crowd following him, and after this, most of them left. He lost his audience because they could not understand this. Verse 54, whoever… This is a powerful verse. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life. That’s zoe. That is not everlasting forever forever only. It is the God quality of life, the life that God himself has, in which there is no sickness. So, if you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have… zoe life that means there is healing in communion because when he said eat my flesh and drink my blood you know he didn’t mean it physically literally he didn’t have his corpse carved into pieces no he had to have it back again because he was raised from the dead So it’s not a literal eat my flesh, drink my blood. It is symbolic and it’s what we drink and eat in communion. So he said if you eat my flesh and drink my blood, the only way you can do that is in communion. You have zoe life. You are internalizing the blood and body of Jesus in you. And Leviticus 17 says the life of the flesh… is in the blood. So you have my blood in you. Whoo! This is so exciting. This is where you can get a blood transfusion and get healing when you take communion. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And what I was listening to today had this testimony. This man of God was sharing that he has two grandsons that are twins, about three years old. Twin, three-year-old grandsons. And one of them, from the time he was about six months old, I guess, for the last two and a half years, he’s had leukemia. And he was on a death sentence. But then the specialist that they had, the medical doctor, said that they could do a blood transfusion. But they had to find someone that could give the right blood. And actually three of the family members qualified, but his twin brother was the best candidate.
